Why chocolate?

2012-03-14T17:13:00.002+01:00

Id like to think of myself of a kind of specialist in most things chocolate.

Then when I was browsing a bit on the web I saw this interesting question:

I am not in the picture or any of the comments tho

However, I just thought, why dont I make a post on this, and you can ask anything you wish about chocolate. Maybe you will give me new ideas for posts and features, but if you know your proverbs, you know stupid questions don't exist. ESPECIALLY about chocolate. But it wouldn't be really my post if I just told you this.

I really like milk chocolate, then white chocolate, and after that pure. Even tho pure isn't my favorite, I have tried enough to know its taste, but sometimes its just not what I want from my chocolate. I own a chocolate fondue, which is a must have for any romantic, or family occasion. Also if you just want to spoil yourself you can always get it! Using pure chocolate there is almost no negative side effects, but its a little less sweet. Using milk chocolate its the best thing in the world, but if you eat too much you'll probably gain weight. I cannot explain my passion for chocolate to just anybody, so if you don't feel the need to buy (or handcraft) a chocolate fondue I will understand, but if you want tips on what to put in it, there is nothing stopping you! Below an aphrodisiac (lust inducing) chocolate fondue, strawberries are known for their... interesting qualities. Chocolate as well, therefore its almost as good as chloroform if you want to pick up your date ;-).
Enjoy responsibly!

so if you want to ask about anything chocolate in the comments, I hereby invite you.

Big brands: Nestlé

2011-06-08T16:01:00.002+02:00

The Nestle logo

I hear a lot about hershey's! Hershey this, Hershey that, I have never seen Hershey anywhere!
To be honoust, I had not even heard about it before I started this blog!
I think my next ''big brand'' post will be about hershey, because I am curious...

Yay, Nestle Milk =D

What I DO know is Nestlé! And they don't just do chocolate...
Find more about nestlé's products here
They do EVERYTHING (Over here)... Lion, KitKat, Milky Bars...
Nestlé owns about 6000 brands, including very well known ones like Felix(cat food), Nestea, Nesquick (chocolate milk)... oh well. you get the point, they are big.

Why am I posting about Nestlé? I really wish to inform everybody, that even tho we all like chocolate, not everybody has the same brand available. That includes me! I want to taste Hershey's, and know if its different from chocolate over here!

NUTS!

What I do know, is that Lion tastes so very very sweet, that I just love this company. Actually, I love all chocolate-producing companies, as long as they are not too expensive.
Also, chocolate nuts =D

Of course, there are others who dislike this company. Mainly because of some breastfeed-replacement. I really think all mothers should go all-natural, but that just my opinion
Read about the nestlé boycot, in western countries

Many European universities, colleges, and schools have banned the sale of Nestlé products from their shops and vending machines. In the United Kingdom, 73 student unions, 102 businesses, 30 faith groups, 20 health groups, 33 consumer groups, 18 local authorities, 12 trade unions, education groups, 31 MPs, and many celebrities support the Nestle boycott.

Ah well. I don't buy breastmilk, I don't really care...

Chocolait Chips

2011-06-05T18:40:00.000+02:00

Chocolait Chips from Nestle

Well I have been eating chocolate for quite some time, and one of the best chocolates I have EVER tasted, are these chips. Now, its not just the chocolate that drives my head wild, its the super-smart packaging container, what makes me want to have this time and time again!

The packaging

Yes that are 21 twixes, and yes I need those!
Focus on the chips!

The packaging is epic! Just see the video above, its unlike anything you encounter in the supermarkets! It is a hexagon-shaped box, with the top and bottom slightly dented. If you pull the top or bottom (it is symetrical) you can get to the inside, where there is a gold-coulered bag. Open this bag and you will reach the chocolate chips!
What I always do, is to leave them in the bag, and put the bag back in the box, so you can enjoy them for several days. Note that mine don't last several days anymore.
Now please realise that not everybody likes these chocolait chips, everybody has their own personal taste. You either love these, or you hate them (later explained). What makes these so special is that they don't taste like regular chocolate. They are, I quote the packaging:

Crisped cereal chips coated with milk chocolate (50%), decorated with plain chocolate.

The chocolait chips inside the bag

The taste
When you bite one, it crunches in your mouth. If, after this, you immediatly swallow, the chocolate will remain in your mouth, and if you don't like them, it means you have a bad taste in your mouth for quite some time. If you do like them, enjoy the aftertaste. It is epic...
With this prolonged aftertaste, you can get the maximum enjoyment out of these chips, and you don't have to eat much to enjoy them a lot.

I found this on the internet, but I
do not know how this tastes.

The inside, consistent of cereal and milkchocolate

On the other side, if they don't suit your tastes, you will have a bad, almost sour-like taste in your mouth for about three minutes. So don't start off with more then 1 chip, or you'll hate yourself for that!

I just finished a box of them...

Toblerone white, try or not?

2011-06-02T18:42:00.000+02:00

Well hi everybody!

Recently I walked into a night shop (a shop open during the night), and I thought I walked into a dream!!! Does anybody know about white Toblerone bars? I didn't, but now I do!! But as you can see, in this picture the very popular Mentos, and regular Toblerone are sold, but it seems the black toblerone (pure chocolate) and the white toblerone (white chocolate) are still very stacked! Because of this I first believed that these are not as good as regular toblerones!

So I went down to Toblerone and Im trying to figure out if I should buy the white toblerones or not, because frankly, I don't want to waste money on a bad chocolate bar!
Ingredients
Swiss white chocolate with honey and almond nougat (10%)
Ingredients: Sugar, whole milk powder, cocoa butter, honey (3%), almonds (1.6%), emulsifier (soya lecithin), egg white, flavouring (vanillin)

Well that does not help a lot...
So I continue to investigate:
On amazon these are the number of stars given to this bar

5 star: (8)
4 star: (2)
3 star: (0)
2 star: (2)
1 star: (0)

That sounds pretty nice, loads of four and five stars given out to this bar! Now this is peaking my curiosity! But ofcourse, having more then one source is always a must, if you research anything! so finally, I go to chocolatemission which gives this bar an 8.3 out of 10!
Well this just makes my day! When I saw this in the store, I thought it would be a waste of my money to buy this, but now I think my very own review will be coming very soon!!!

Couldn't find anything with white chocolate... Forgive me?

Did any of you ever taste a white Toblerone? How did it taste? Should I try it?

So here it is, the feature I promised!

Shutterbug is a very nice lady, completely in love with hot men, and chocolate (she prefers both in one picture)! Her blog is one of the most addictive ones I have seen, and I think I have been there the most time of all other blogs! =D
Its a ''guess this'' game, and her special ability is making small things seem larger! Also, she has followed me for a VERY LONG TIME! I wish to personally thank you for this!!!

Here is an example, of her current post.

Do you know what this picture is? you can start guessing and place your guess here

Well if this goes all according to plan, the Chocotaster blog will be back up! Thanks for your support in the previous post, and for keeping me in the blogger community! Still, if anyone still knows an adnetwork, please comment!!!

All big inventions were invented unintentionally! The Twix Chocolate Platform!

2011-05-14T18:09:00.000+02:00

*Update about my Twix Chocolate Platform*

Well as some of you may have read, I wanted to make a Twix Chocolate Platform (lets make it the shorter TCP for now)
The original TCP was a twix, that had been in my pocket/bag for too long, while I went to the beach, and some really hot places and the two twix bars fused into on epic Twix Chocolate Platform! While this is my first TCP, I had no idea how this (most epic tasting bar) came to be, and I wanted to make a video and share it with everybody! So you can make your very OWN TCPs!

There is however, one problem! I attempted my first recreation of the original TCP, and it failed... horribly...

I really did mess up a twix beyond eating pleasure! Dang! what a waste....
Now I will rethink my strategy, and try to come up with a better solution! I will recreate the TCP, which was one of the best chocolate bars I have had in my life, No matter the costs!

I took some pictures before ... sorry...

I mean while I was eating it! Now this result has GOT TO BE reachable! This bar tastes so good... you can't even imagine... I can... because I remember the TCP!

Original Twix Chocolate Platform 1

Original Twix Chocolate Platform 2

This is the theory... Now all I got to do is find out how I am going to do this!

Well after you have read this, you've GOT to take one tiny piece of chocolate just to celebrate,

Come on, do it for me?

Ah well, anyways: I got this really awesome idea about making a ''how to'' for my ''Twix Chocolate Platform''

and Im only thinking wether or not I should make a video, or just some pictures and well placed commentary...

Everytime a new picture of a chocolate strawberry!

Well I recently got some ''Sunshine Awards''? I sincerely thank everybody who sent me one, however, ''forward this to 10 people'' is something I do NOT do!
In stead, I will make my own award!
The Chocotaster Chocolate Strawberry Award!
There are CERTAIN rules to this award:
(1) You cannot ask people to vote for you, or trade votes (like: I vote for you if you vote for me).
(2) You cannot vote for YOURSELF
(3) You MAY post your nomination on your blog, but you may NOT ask people to vote for you.
(4) You may ask to be nominated for this award, However if I find you too pushy, it might result in you not being nominated at all!
(5) The winner is decided by the most votes, if this is in consent with the administrator of the award.

If you have any additions to the rules, Please comment!

I hope this idea is liked, and I already have 4 nominees!

Big Mike! Who quit smoking and is my 300st follower!!!!!!!

The winner of the Chocotaster Chocolate Strawberry Award will not receive chocolate strawberries...

He or she will win:

A complete feature, and review of their blog!

As I don't follow blogs I don't like, the review has a 143.9% chance of being positive!

If I should CHANGE the winning prize, please comment, However this is the only thing I can think of currently...

So now I ask of you, all 300 of my followers:

Should I make the video, or post pictures?

Who should win the Chocotaster Chocolate Strawberry Award?

Dragon Chocolate Cake

2011-05-03T18:14:00.000+02:00

Yay its nice weather, Yay its Queens Day, Yay for all of those things, but this blog is about chocolate!!!
I wouldn't want you guys to be missing your daily portion of chocolate!

Wow thanks M9000!

Well I came across this art blog, asking for ideas, and I asked him to draw the most EPIC chocolate cake he had ever seen! I did not think he would deliver....

Well he did! He made this chocolate dragon cake (with a tad of chili flavor) as the finishing touch!
Well you might just think like hmwa, its just a Dragon(Epic) Chocolate (tasty) on a Chocolate cake(need I even explain?) He ALSO wants to make this like a normal chocolate cake, and make the dragon with coloured frosting (I hope theres a cook up to that)! Just IMAGINE having this superlicious chocolate cake in your livingroom, just waiting to be eaten!
Check out this very interesting blog!
A very interesting blog!

But this is not the only chocolate dragon cake I want to show you! heres another one! This one was not especially made for me but this one is (almost) Just as epic!

Well as you might have noticed I have been blogging a tad less, because the weather is so awesome here, im on the beach all day! =D
That does not mean I take a brake from eating chocolate!
I recently forgot a piece of chocolate that was in my pocket, (A twix no less) and it melted... TOGETHER!
So the two twix pieces became one huge caramell-chocolate-cookie-twix PLATFORM! You don't even know the ''Insane orgasm'' of tastes I had in my mouth!
I will post pictures later, then buy a few Twixes to see if I can get it to do the same again!
I tell you, if you know how to do that please comment it, because it tasted so sweetly, like having a brand new chocolate bar! I think my next post will be on that, but Im unpredictable, as always!

Queens Day!

2011-04-30T21:30:00.001+02:00

Beatrix a little less orange

Queen Beatrix from Orange!

I have spoken to some people out of the Netherlands, but they all did not seem to know that the Netherlands actually have a Royal Family, a queen, a crown prince, married to a princess and they also have children (which are not yet direct inheritors of the throne. But thats not important today! Because today was Queens Day! Millions of people were out on the street celebrating the birthdate of the Queen on April the 30th.
Now Queen Beatrix van Oranje-Nassau used to be married to Prince Claus, but he passed away. Our Crown Prince is Prince Willem-Alexander van Oranje-Nassau

The ''Golden Carriage'', not made of real gold, because then it would be too heavy! (every dutch person learns this in school)
They had the money to buy one made of gold, but then the axis would not be able to handle the weight of the pure gold carriage.

Well this is NOT a holiday for chocolate, but just a very fun day to be in the Netherlands, and to taste a little ''orange'' culture!
Why orange you ask? Have you ever seen Dutch people in sports? Or at anything nationalistic for Holland?
If you said yes, you know they are all ORANGE! If you said no, Ive got some pictures for you!

World Cup 2010 (the Bavaria Babes who were arrested for sneak-marketing of a diffrent beer-brand (Bavaria) then the official sponsor (Heineken)

Queensday crowd (they are orange if you did not notice)

The Orange Legion (the people) never lets the Lion (Holland) stand alone!

Miss Holland!

The picture explains itself

Now you might wonder: Why the F*CK are all of these INSANE people (Guys wearing fake boobs, drunk people and people that make A LOT of mess) wearing ORANGE? why ORANGE?

Well the answer to ALL of Hollands nationalistic events are covered in orange is because of...

Our Royal Family!

Their last name is ''van Oranje-Nassau'' (translates to ''from Orange-Nassau''). The Royal Family is so very dutch, that dutch people don't even notice it anymore, that there aren't a lot of europe countries with a royal family (France is very proud they killed every last one). On the other hand, you might notice that the United Kingdom's Royal Family recently had a wedding...
So I hope to educate the people of blogger, the people roaming the internets, that Holland DOES have a Royal Family, and their last name!

So maybe if you ever wanted to go to Holland, plan your trip for next year April 30st, and taste the REAL Dutch culture (and not that windmill stuff)
The next time you see a crowd of crazy orange people, you can almost certainly say: They are from Holland!

Very Dutch: Orange + Tulips!

Easter!

2011-04-24T12:45:00.000+02:00

OhMyGoozies! Chocolate!

Hey how is everybody doing? Today is Easter! there are many meanings behind easter, especially to christian people! Even tho I am not christian, I definiatly like easter!

Easter is the central feast in the Christian liturgical year. According to the Canonical gospels, Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion. His resurrection is celebrated on Easter Day or Easter Sunday (also Resurrection Day or Resurrection Sunday). The chronology of his death and resurrection is variously interpreted to be between AD 26 and 36.

Easter marks the end of Lent, a forty-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance. The last week of the Lent is called Holy Week, and it contains Good Friday, commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus. Easter is followed by fifty-day period called Eastertide or the Easter Season, ending with Pentecost Sunday.

But this is NOT the reason I like Easter so much, in fact, Im not even religious! What I DO love is the EASTER BUNNY!

Woof! I'm the easter bunny!

The Easter Bunny or Easter Hare (sometimes Spring Bunny in the U.S.) is a character depicted as a rabbit bringing Easter eggs, who sometimes is depicted with clothes. In legend, the creature brings baskets filled with colored eggs, candy and sometimes also toys to the homes of children, and as such shows similarities to Father Christmas, as they both bring gifts to children on the night before their respective holiday.

Well that sounds to me like... CHOCOLATE EGGS!! =D
This really is just another holiday so you have an excuse to eat chocolate once again!!

These are pretty common Easter Bunny's: Fashionably black or pink

I wonder where my egg will be hidden?

Well the egg to the right is the egg Im going to get from the easter bunny, well at least thats what she promised me!
After it was done it was hardly eatable because it was made outside. It was made out of 50000 bars.

Another Easter Bunny (=

Ages for chocolate

2011-04-20T14:12:00.000+02:00

Now usually a lot of people tend to think that something is only for certain ages,

Like watching Disney Movies is only for kids, riding in a shopping mall cart is only for very small kids, using the MCdonalds ballparks, doing anything that is meant for kids is not meant for grown-ups

but NOTHING can be less true, I dare you to watch the Lion King again, and youll cry! Riding in a shopping mall cart will get you on Jackass, using the MCdonalds ballparks will make kids think you are so cool!

But what about chocolate?

Well as the pictures may already show you,
Well chocolate is for ALL ages (except baby's), all genders, all humans, as you may say, because feeding chocolate to dogs is NOT a good idea. cats don't like chocolate either! (they will eat it, they will DIE).

So I hope when you get old you won't be thinking
''ill save this chocolate for my grandkids'',
but instead you will think
''Yummi this chocolate taste so great, I hope my grandkids won't be on time to eat it''

Have a great day!

Cacoa Prices

2011-04-15T18:59:00.000+02:00

Yes its time for the almighty long economic post about chocolate prices!

Ivory Coast is one of the biggest producers of chocolate in the world!

The civil war

But it seems that after the political unrest in Ivory coast had brought up prices for a bit! Everybody was very worried about the upcomming chocolate prices, especially the last couple of months, there was a huge rise in prices for cacoa beans!

That would mean, that EVERYTHING made out of chocolate, would become more expensive which would be bad... very bad to my wallet!

Mercenary's/Soldiers

Well thats not the worst of this story, because there was a civil war in the Ivory Coast, which was mainly on killing civilians, hiring mercenaries and basically was an all-out war.... About the same as Lybia now has, but this one had a lot less media attention.
Outtara had put a ban on cacao export, so that gbagbo could no longer receive income from the chocolate sector, because of the drop of cacao supplies, the prices went up.

Former President Laurent Gbagbo

But now he has been captured
Wikipedia:
On 11 April, Ouattara's forces stormed Gbagbo's residence and arrested him. The final assault was assisted by French forces using helicopters and armoured vehicles, although the actual capture was made by Ouattara's troops. Gbagbo, his wife, son and about 50 members of his entourage were captured unharmed and were taken to the Golf Hotel, Ouattara's headquarters, where they were placed under United Nations guard.

A soldier guarding POW's

President Outtara

Well thats that, and now that Outtara's in control, and Gbagbo has been moved out of the way, the export of cacao can continue, and hopefully the prices will drop again!

Here are the daily prices of cacao from the International Cacao Organisation ICCO
http://www.icco.org/statistics/daily_prices.aspx

Well I had a very busy week, and I hope
