Simon was slightly nervous (as like myself, he isn;t too fond of having his picture taken) but they both got into the swing of thigns very quickly. The engagment session is a great chance for you to get to work with us for the first time (we would have normally met you at a pre wedding meeting beforehand) and build up a bit of a sense of ease with us. We like to refer to the engagement session as an experience rather than a few casual portraits. It gives you (and if not more importantly – us) the opportunity to create some fantastic images but also for you to experience being photographed before your wedding day so it’s slightly more normal, and also we can see how you behave in front of the camera.

As I’m sure you’ll agree Cheryl Simon’s images here at sawley Abbey really show a sense of happyness with each other and you can even spot a few giggles in there at both Hazel’s and my very own side splitting jokes and wit! Enjoy!

Ben & Victoria are getting married next month at the fantastic ‘The Grange’ hotel Cumbria, where it will be our 1st time being The Grange Wedding photographer duo at this venue! They are a lovely couple who we met at last years Leeds Hilton Wedding Fayre and we instantly knew they’d make for great engagement session photographs. The Pre-Wedding photography session at Kirkstall Abbey gave them a little time to get used to being in front of the camera which, both Hazel & myself believe is almost a necessity to allow us to get used to working with a couple, and for (in this case) Ben & Victoria to get used to working with us (we’re totally crazy as I’m sure they’ll tell you!). They got straight into it and were very comfortable being photographed and natural together which really shows in their photographs. Enjoy!

The ceremony took place at Dore Church just 15 minutes away from Kenwood Hall , a very picturesque little village with free roaming chickens (crossing the road!). We then headed back over to Kenwood Hall for more Sheffield Wedding Photography and the evening reception. The wedding cake was even made by the lady who is make Jessica Ennis wedding cake! But not to worry, they were troopers and ploughed through without a single complaint (a wedding photographer’s dream!) and we got some brilliant images for them. I’m really looking forward to being their Inn at Whitewell Photographer in August – keep your eyes on the blog for the images coming soon.

The weather wasn’t on our side as we had certainly hoped to make use of their beautiful, award winning gardens, however this didn’t affect Robin & Andrew’s big day. We made use of the beautiful interiors of the Graythwaite Manor and captured some beautiful memories. Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Woolley.

Rachael & Matt are getting married in Thorpe Park in November 2012 so the pre-wedding engagement photography was a chance for them to get a feel for the camera and being photographed. It gave me a chance to find out more about them as a couple, see how they interact and behave together and how they feel most comfortable being photographed. Before the photo shoot we were both nervous neither of us had professional photos done, at least not since photo day at school!

On the day it was nice and sunny which was a bonus, however this meant the crowds were out in force and we were a little worried about feeling awkward in front of other people. Chris made sure we felt at ease though and we ended up having fun and really enjoying the day!

We are really pleased with the photos and have got some fantastic pictures. We feel more confident about having our photos taken on our big day and can’t wait to see the fab pictures we know Chris will produce!
