I missed the announcement the other night that the US Navy Seals identified the whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden and took out the leader of the worlds largest terrorist organizations.

One of the reports that sticks out in my head initially is that people that were interviewed on the news were saying that this was “timed” this way because of the upcoming elections and this would help Obama in his re-election bid in 2012.

Please…

If the intelligence of this event was reported to take over a year to get right, and this is the time that the US was to take out the person responsible for the deaths of over 3000 Americans and the countless amount of hurt that goes through the families of those lost, this was the time. No matter if an election was happening in the near future or not.

Americans should view this story as one that sits on the point of a newly sharpened pencil. It is direct, sharp in nature and moves our society into a new frontier in the war on terror. This was and had to be done. Timing has nothing to do with it in my opinion. It’s like in the movies when the actor says, “I have the shot” and the voice you hear spills out the words, “Take it!”

We did it and the ignorance has to stop to move forward in this society that we live in. Think what you want, but the woman that I saw say this on the news struck a cord with me and made me think that if she thinks like that, so don’t many.

To change gears, think back after 9/11…people being nice to others, helping others, good moods infused into the lives of the miserable because that is what society needed at the time and we still need it today. Ignorance was thrown out the window for a short time and like weeds, it came back faster than you could throw a gallon of Ortho them. Duplication of negative thoughts drives us to be ignorant.

If you could change society, or think that you have contributed to the change that we need, I would love to hear it.

When was the last time you actually helped someone with something they couldn’t handle? Like lifting a bag into an overhead compartment? Allowing someone to go ahead of you in line at the market when they only have 3 items and you have 40-50? Can you think of your last “random act of kindness?

Over the past 4 months, I have been thinking of the direction that I want to go with the “creative” aspect of my life. I KNOW that I need it. I know that the things that I do make others happy…Now to find a way to make the time to get it all lined up.

Work has been busy and made it very hard to stay connected. I am online, but with the lack of studio space in the new house…lack of time, and the ability to fit it all in has made it very, very hard to make it happen. 

I have been asked a lot lately if and when the show (Random Access
Radio) will be back online. I wish I had an answer. I miss the music, the interaction, and the new people that we all meet every week. I want to get that back.

I am in the process of sewing up the details for a RAR Summer meet up. I am thinking along the lines of a RAR “Back Yard Bash…” (or what I call a “Hometown Throwdown” filled with BBQ, music, and social interaction.

Keep your eyes peeled for this event in the near future.

So, back to “creativity…” I have been thinking of a “raw” podcast, short in nature that I could fit into the “life” schedule. I feel that I need something, what it is…I’m not sure.  If you have thoughts on what I could do on a limited schedule, speak up. I am interested in what you have to say.

I will also try to update this site more often. Just another testament that my schedule is booked, mostly with work (and that isn’t a bad thing at all), but with some time off till next Wednesday, I figured that I would update you all on what is going on.

I spent the afternoon with my daughter Ariana and David and also spent some time with Jaylin. We took in some lunch as well and it was a great day all around.

She is getting big for 1 month and 5 days old, and eats very very well.
