Users of Getagig now have the option to comment on promoters and venues or promote themselves on the site! Just go to one of the listings pages and scroll to the bottom to see how it’s done. Hopefully this will create a greater understanding of what’s going on in the various local music scenes across the UK. The idea is that as users comment, an idea about the good and bad venues and promoters will appear, plus anyone (i.e Sound Engineers) wanting to put themselves up for work can do so.

You can use these reverb impulses in any plug-in that supports convolution reverb. For Mac, Apple’s Pro Logic - Space Designer supports them. For Windows SIR supports them.

What are Reverb Impulse Responses?

“In audio signal processing, convolution reverb is a process for digitally simulating the reverberation of a physical or virtual space.” – Wikipedia

What’s good about convolution reverb is that you can model practically any space in existence. These spaces can then be used with a plug-in to simulate whichever space has been modeled. For example, you may want your vocal track to sound like it was recorded in the Sistine Chapel – if that space was modeled it could be done.

Not only real life spaces have to be modeled, it is also possible to model hardware such as a Lexicon Reverb for example – which means you have practically free access to hundreds of hardware boxes without having to fork out huge sums of money for the privilege. All you need are some impulse responses and the right plug-ins.
