@Kim,
I still have moments when I’m scared to talk to someone, even though I know it’ll be for my own good. I’ve probably missed out on some good opportunities because of that. However, that being said, the times where I do get past that fear and speak with someone have almost always been beneficial, and I’ve enjoyed it immensely.

I really like that so much of your focus in this article was not social media. Social media is great and probably necessary for a lot of us, but networking face to face in real time and place is so important, and so enjoyable.
I think much of the anxiety about networking comes in thinking about it, anticipating or planning. Once I am actually talking to a person, there’s usually nothing to be anxious about.

Hi Michael,

The only way I got them to stop sending me letters is to stop inquiring about my account. Even if it is a requirement for them to send letters for each inquiry/whatever, the fact that they haven’t figured out a way to make it less wasteful and obtrusive is just obnoxious.

Hi! Just stumbled upon your blog….Ive recently opened a new comcast account and now have 8 letters.
5 in one day. 2 on another. 2 days ago i made Zero changes and only looked at how much GB of the 250 limit i had been using. Yep, another letter. So i finally called them. They said is a Mandatory FCC letter.
So now im scouring the FCC site for info on this and found nothing. Can’t find anything on comcast site either.

How did you get them to stop sending you letters??

I’m sure you could use this with blogger. I was able to add the custom CSS you showed for interviews to my blogger page. Just add the code inside the “skin” tags with the other CSS and tweak to satisfy.

I laughed the whole way through your story! So funny. I did the same thing when my group decided to cliff-jump into the snake river during our rafting trip a few years ago. I stood on the tiny ledge way up high scared out of my mind until finally everyone was chanting for me, including a large group of rafters who had just rounded the corner and were cheering me on. I finally jumped and it was terrifying, but awesome! I surprised even myself that I actually did it.

Thanks for the inspiration to take the leap in our other ambitions in life. I can’t think of a time when I was “on the ledge” of some goal of mine when I have regretted taking the leap. On the other hand, I have always regretted the times when I have backed down.
