Las Vegas now has a Container Store! I was invited to the Blogger Sneak Peek at the new store and got the 411 on all their great products. It has everything you need to organize any room of your home. I was quite impressed with all the items made just for organizing cosmetics. The clear acrylic organizers for nail polish, lipstick and makeup brushes look so great you can keep them on top of the counter. They are also reasonably priced around $6 each.

Santa Margherita promotes namesake nail polish at the Beauty Bar

My favorite wine in the world has to be Santa Margherita's Pinot Grigio. I would hang out in a closet so I wouldn't have share! Now the famous winemaker has created a nail polish line inspired by their wines. The polishes come in shades that mimic their popular vintages of Pinot Grigio, Prosecco, Sparkling Rose and Chianti Classico. They are not available is stores, but you can sign up to win one of 200 limited-edition Santa Margherita custom nail polish kits on their Facebook page.

Revlon beauty mini-haul at ULTA

I stopped into ULTA to use my coupon and decided to look for eyeshadow palette. I had been reading about the collection makeup artist Gucci Westman created for Revlon, so I picked up the palette. I absolutely love it. I have trouble wearing greys and blacks because of my fair complexion without looking like a raccoon.
It comes with four shadows and a liner. The back has diagram directions. It works okay without an eye primer, but I would recommend using one. The liner works great, especially if you are in a hurry and just want something easy. Revlon was buy 1 get 1 half off that day and with my ULTA coupon and a Revlon Coupon I found in the store, I got the palette and a Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter for $9!

Dark Shadows beauty sets

Dark Shadows, a Tim Burton film starring Johnny Depp is being released tomorrow. The movie is based on the 1970's Vampire series of the same name ( if you want to take a look, you can find it on Netflix.). Orly and NYX have released collections inspired by the new movie.

It's so Bronzy!

If you haven't jumped on the bronzer bandwagon yet, here is an easy, inexpensive way. Most of us think bronzer is for adding all over color to combat paleface. That is not completely true makeup artists have been using it to narrow noses and create cheek bones for eons (okay maybe not eons!). Actress Jenny Mc Carthy always has notable bronzed cheekbones. If you are not sure if bronzing is for you - don't buy a spendy one. This NYC Sun 2 Sun has worked great for me. I found it at ULTA for about $4.

Yu-Be helps problem areas and gives you pedicure perfect feet

Summer is almost here. Time to get your feet in sandal shape. Exfoliation and moisturizer is the best way to get rid of dry skin and cracked heels. I was approached by Yu-Be, a tried and true Japanese line to try it out and offer a Travel Pak to my readers. Yu-Be is a glycerin based moisturizer with Vitamin E, B2 and camphor. It does not contain any artificial colors or fragrances and has been a favorite in Japan since 1957.

I tried the Skin Cream, Moisturizing Body Lotion, Foaming Skin Polish and the Heel and Elbow Moisturizing socks. Both the lotion and cream absorb quickly and are not greasy. However, the Camphor makes it smell like Carmex. Yu-Be reminds me of a lighter version of the old cure all, Bag Balm. That heavy petrolatum based ointment cured anything from diaper rash to eczema. But it took forever to absorb and was not pleasant.

Yu-Be is for dry skin, cracked heals and itchy skin and for people who just want a good moisturizer. There were many happy reviewers on Sephora.com, some it even marveled how it helped with their Eczema. I like everything about it, except for the smell. However, I am always looking for simple products without additives, so I can overlook it. You won't smell like camphor all day - the smell dissipates quickly. The Elbow and Heel Moisturizing socks are great because they are not a full sock. Your toes are free and it keeps your feet from getting overheated under the covers. The Foaming Skin Polish is super-moisturizing. The simple ingredients, rice bran, ginger root, ginseng tone the skin while green tea and camphor help lock in moisture. I don't normally post "haul" postings, but I thought this one was a great deal. I got two Revlon scented nail polishes ($4.79 each ) and two Tan Towels ($2.50 each), for $7.20. I used an ULTA $3.50 off coupon and a Revlon $1 off coupon I found in the store.
I am in love with these scented polishes. I got "Not so Blueberry" and "Raspberry Rapture". Revlon products were buy 1 get 1 free. The Tan Towels were buy 1 get one half off.

Revlon Scented Nail Polishes

When I first saw the new Dior Beauty spring line with the scented nail polishes, I thought how cool! And then I thought, $19 - I don't think so. I stumbled across some great Revlon scented polishes at ULTA. I got bubble gum and beach. They both smell great. Beach has that great suntan oil/ ocean smell. I did not put a topcoat on until the scent wore off a couple of days later. They cost around $4.99 each, but Revlon was buy 2 get 1 free. So, with my ULTA coupon I got three polishes for $7.00! The blue glitter polish (radiant) is pretty, but no way near the same quality as a Deborah Lippmann glitter polish.

Topshop Las Vegas: First look

I got a chance to check out the new Topshop store before it opened to the public today. A lot of glitter, gems and bright colors, just like Vegas! In fact there are literally dozens of items exclusive to Las Vegas including nail polish, beaded tops, playing card headbands and more. They have a small makeup section with a special Las Vegas purple glitter nail polish. Stop in this weekend to get a mini makeover and then take your picture in the Gold photo booth. Kelly Cardenas Salon will be giving free services all weekend along with other opening activities. All the fun begins March 8 at 4:00 pm.!

Review of new Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter

Sometimes you just don't feel like wearing lipstick or lip gloss. I love the little lip butters in a jar from The Body Shop, but I was looking for something in between with a stronger hint of color. I picked up Revlon's New Lip Butter for $6 at my local Smith's. I color matched the lip butter to one of my favorite lipsticks I had in my purse and settled on "Sugar Frosting".

I like that this lip butter is in a lipstick case. Most products like this are in a pot or tin, and you have to use your fingers. The color is sheer, but enough to give some color to your lips. It is more moisturizing than lipstick, but less than a traditional butter. At $6, this is a great find and I will probably go back for more.

Estee Lauder launches Mad Men Collection

When the new season of Mad Men premieres on March 25, you could be watching it with a special blush and lipstick form Estee Lauder. The Mad Men Collection includes a limited edition creme blush compact and lipstick. The blush is in a gold compact with an aquamarine clasp and the lipstick is in a standard Estee Lauder gold case. They will available beginning March 1st at Bloomingdale's and at Esteelauder.com. If you really want to pick one up you should pre-order now.

Jouer Cosmetics, the "little black dress" of makeup lines

You won't find any bright crazy colors in this makeup line, just soft, natural colors. Jouer Cosmetics founder, Christina Zilber, refers to her line as the "little black dress" of makeup with colors suited for any occasion. L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Endless Pearl

I have been looking for a replacement of my MAC Vanilla eye shadow when I came upon this one at the grocery store. I had a $2 off coupon, so this ended up costing about four dollars. It is supposed to last 24 hours, but didn't wear it that long to find out. It has the consistency of a powder you accidentally got wet. It works well with or without eye primer and is very close to MAC vanilla. This was a great find. Unfortunately, they will probably discontinue the color.

Many have been raving about these new stretch satin hair ties. You can sleep with them in and they double as a bracelet. I found this cute pink tie with a rhinestone ornament on Etsy, $5 from NoTugHairTies.

This Katy Perry "Purr" Fragrance bottle reminds me of the Siamese cats from Disney's Lady and the Tramp. If you like Aquolina's Pink Sugar, you'll appreciate the softer, less musky essence of Purr. Exclusively at Nordstrom, $45-$65.

Neova Night Therapy performs

I have never been faithful to night cremes. Typically I buy whatever and if I like it, I use it until it is gone or never use it again. I recently received Neova Night Therapy to try and I have been pleasantly suprised! Neova Night Therapy is an overnight facial creme formulated with a Copper Peptide Complex designed to restore moisture levels to your skin and enable cell repair. It also utilizes Endosomes that intensify the skin’s ability to repair sun-inflicted DNA damage and Sodium Hyaluronate, a humectant that hydrates and binds up to 1,000 times its own weight in moisture.

The claims are pretty accurate. I notice a difference the next day when I don't use it. It also makes wearing my Frownies bearable. With other creams the Frownies itch and pull on my skin. Another great plus is the fragrance, or lack of. So many times I have gotten out of bed to wash off an annoying night cream. This cream is dispensed in a metered pump, enough for your face and neck area. It is a little pricey at $85, but I would buy this cream before some of those others at the department store.
