March Wind Sock Craft

Wind Sock With Hair Twigs

Cardboard tube (Toilet paper roll tube)

Plain or colored paper

Markers or crayons

Glue

Crepe paper roll

2 Pipe Cleaners

Goggle Eyes

Hole Punch

Cut a piece of paper large enough to cover the cardboard tube. Decorate with markers or crayons. Or you could have them draw a face and add google eyes. Make sure you hot glue these down. You could use double sided tape or regular tape but I am not sure how long the eyeballs will stay attached when the wind starts blowing.
Write a Bible verse on the paper. Cut five or six streamers that are 24 inches (60 cm) long from the crepe paper. Glue these inside the toilet paper roll on one end so the streamers all hang out the bottom. They will overlap inside some.
Use a hole punch and add a hole on each side of the toilet paper roll tube. Add a pipe stem cleaner for a handle.Add another pipe cleaner through the same holes and twirl them around your finger to get a curly effect for the hair. Hang the wind sock where that you can watch the direction the wind blows. Bring it inside if there is strong wind or rain.

1 Chocolate Cake Mix
2 cans of Chocolate Frosting and 1 White Frosting
Printable "Fire With Snake" Template
Fork-to run lines in the frosting to make it look like a log

Bake a regular cake and let it cool. Take some dental floss and cut the cake down the middle.

Now you should have two pieces of cake!

Pick up one of the pieces of cake and lay it on top of the other piece of cake.

Okay now your cake should look like this.

Now slap some chocolate frosting all over it. Skip the front and back of the log, because you will be putting some different colored frosting on this part.

Okay, now add some tan colored frosting to the front and to the back. Just mix some white frosting and chocolate frosting together to get this color. Do a tacky job like I did here in the picture. (Just kidding)

Grab your fork and give the chocolate frosting a good back scratch. Just run the fork down the sides and top.

This is what a good job looks like. haha. You should have a piece of cake that resembles a wooden log now.

Do the tan part in the front and back with the fork making a circular motion. Your finished log should look like this now.

Just print and laminate the snake fire template and stick down in the top of the cake.

Not to shabby, huh! This is the finished cake. Your kids are sure to remember the lesson on Paul being bitten by a viper. This was a very easy cake to make.

Just print this out on cardstock and have the child cut out both angels. Have the child place the angel with the dress on over the other half drawn angel and fold the tabs over. Have the child draw a face on the angel. The scripture from Luke 15:10 is on the front of her dress.

You could buy a bee set from the store or the internet or you could make your own. I covered the bulletin board in red paper. Added some yellow bee trim all around. I added black letters that said, "Bee Mine Jesus" on one side and bee hive on the other. I stapled bees all over the board.

The Righteous Shall See The Wicked Fall

Pro 29:16- When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.

When a man has a wicked heart his increase works against him. There are many that if they had the means to fulfill all their desires it would most certainly lead to destruction. Some are merely limited by their resources as to the amount of evil they accomplish. For instance, many of the rich and powerful in this great nation, started out with Christian beginnings and now you can’t even see a hint of Jesus in their lives.

It is a natural drive to increase our wealth, stature, and well-being while we are here on this earth. But if we lose sight of the important things we may truly gain the world, but lose our souls. If we are obedient to Christ and long for his will to be done, then I believe that He will not increase us beyond that which we are able to endure. Why do I say endure? Because to whom much is given, must is required. Wealth and increase can destroy the Christian in many ways. The power that money gives, can give us a false sense of independence from God. The ability to have all good things is paralleled by the ability to have all bad things. There are things that might tempt you now that you just simply don’t have the means. Perhaps a current situation for someone is simply to keep their heart true to God. If we work on our hearts and learn to trust Him and desire to do His will, then He is faithful to equip us with what we need to do it. If we increase, but He does not, there is a problem. I think many say and even believe that we would do more if we could. Or even plan to do more in the future. I believe that if we will start today and do the little that we can now, that before you know it you will look back and say, “Wow, I have done a lot.” Ten dollars to someone who needs it will go further than no dollars. One kind word will go further than no words. One soul saved because you told someone about Jesus will go further than any amount of money.

If I asked, “How much have you done for Jesus in your life?” Some would answer with all kinds of great things while others might shy away with guilt or remorse. But that is ok, because God is not near as concerned with where you have been, or where you are. He is much more interested in where you are going in both this life and eternity. So, I know we all want to go to Heaven, but where do you want to go in this life? Ask God what you can do for Him and when he shows you, well, just do it!

Valentine Snacks and Heart Craft For Sunday School

Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Matthew 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.

Matthew 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Matthew 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Valentine Snacks

For Kids In Sunday School

Your going to need 2 plastic bathroom cups (150 cups-3FL OZ 88ML). Take your scissors and make 8 cuts in the plastic cup all the way down to the bottom.

Next spread your plastic cuts out like this picture shows. Now you will have something that looks like a little flower.

Tape a colored popsicle stick to the back of your cut up plastic cup like this. Then tape your popsicle stick down in another plastic cup.

Then just add two colored goggle eyes to the front with tape. Then tape a colored feather in the back. Then add a small cut out paper heart to the front with the words "Love The Lord" "Matt 22:37" on the front. I used a black sharpie for the words "Love The Lord" and then I used a regular ink pen to write "Matt 22:37" down. If you use a sharpie marker for all of it, I don't think it will fit unless you make your hearts bigger. Then I taped a heart at the top. To get a heart like the one you see in the picture just cut a heart out and then cut a smaller heart out of the same heart. Your paper should be folded in half when doing this. Then you will have a hole in the middle that is in the shape of a heart.

Fill the little cups with cereal and sweetheart candies. I color coordinated mine just for fun. Hand these fun snacks out to the kids in Sunday school class or Children's Church. Teach the kids a lesson on Matthew 22:37. Jesus said that there were two commandments that were very important. We are to love the Lord with all heart and the next one is to love our neighbor as ourselves.

VALENTINE HEART MAN

Have the kids make a heart card for their parents. Have them cut out a large heart. Add some colored google eyes and some crinkly arms and legs. Add small hearts at the end of the arms and legs. Tape a small eyebrows and mouth on. Give it some eyelashes by drawing them on. Tape a note card to the end of one the arms. Write on the note card the scripture "Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."

Not Giving Up

As a Children's Church leader I wanted to touch on the subject of not giving up. Let's just be honest, I think we all have hit times in our lives when we just wanted to throw in the towel and give up. The thought may have entered your mind and before you knew it you were really dwelling upon it. We have to stop and realize who is behind those thoughts. We need to recognize that those fiery darts are coming from the devil. The devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy. You remember that, and don't forget it. John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. There was a reason why we were instructed to put the armor of God on. This is for your protection. You have to have it. Those darts will come and you have to have it on or you will not be able to stand. Ephesians 6:11-Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:16-Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

There are days when everything just goes perfect and the presence of God is so strong upon us. Then all of a sudden out of no where everything that could possibly go wrong, does. Don't think that it's strange when trials come your way. 1Pe 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 1Pe 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. Sometimes we just need to learn how to STAND. And by that I mean sometimes all we can do is stand, and not give up. We have to keep pushing forward for God. We have to reach out to lost souls. That is what he has called us to do. We are to be disciples. Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. I can hear some that stumbled upon this post by accident saying, "Well, God didn't call us to do that, he called the disicples to do that." O really? Well, let me tell you something, why would God allow us to have access to some story that was worthless? It's not just for your reading entertainment purposes only. The scriptures were given to us for a reason. It was given so that we could apply it to our lives. So we could tell others about Jesus. Jesus died on a cross just for your sins. We have the key to tell others how to be saved. We have to reach out to them. That does not mean you have to go stand behind a pulpit. If you really desire to work for God he will show you what your calling is. Believe me, God will not call you to do something without equipping you first.

Many people know about Jesus, but they don't want to do anything for him. They want to talk about how great he is but they never spend any time with him or in his precious word. They never tell others that Jesus can save their soul. They pass up so many opportunities of reaching out to the lost. Even on facebook I run across people that don't want to be friends with sinners. The wake up call needs to hit us real good. We are called to give the gospel to those who are lost, not saved. Duh! Luke 19:10- For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. And of course not everyone is going to accept Jesus. There will be so many that will refuse him. But, just know that there are so many that will accept him...

We as youth leaders have to stand in the gap for these kids with prayer. I fail so many times in my own walk with God. I realized I was failing when I was not praying over these kids that I was teaching like I needed to. It hit me hard like a ton of bricks. I thought what in the world am I doing Lord?? How could I have been so blind to get away from the very thing that you called me to do. We have to be that kind of leader that will shepherd over them no matter what happens in our own lives. And that we will hold these children up in prayer like they are our very own. God, forgive me, for failing you at times. We can't give up...... We have to hold on....The Lord needs us...

If we don't, who will????

Valentine Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes

Valentine Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes

Cake Mix
Sweetheart Candies
Sprinkles
White or Pink Frosting
Ice Cream Cones
Tinfoil
Muffin Pan

Take your muffin pan and stuff tinfoil in each one. Set your ice cream cones down inside of the foil. This is so they don't fall over. You don't have to use that if you don't want. They will stand up fine without it. Pour your cake batter almost up to the top of the cone. Bake your cupcakes according to the box directions.

Let your cupcakes cool. Stick them in the freezer for about 5 minutes if you want to speed it up. Now you are going to ice them. Use pink or white frosting. Smear on top and add some fun sprinkles to the top. Stick one Sweetheart candy in the middle of the frosting. Make the candy to where it's standing up. To transport these just sit them back down in the tinfoil muffin pan. This will keep them from falling over.

Stick your cupcake cones down in tinfoil in a muffin pan.

Add your cake batter now.

When your cupcakes are done take them out of the oven and let them cool down. Add your white or pink frosting.

Okay now the frosting is on.

Now add some colorful pink and red sprinkles.

Add one Sweetheart candy in the middle standing straight up.

Okay I made a whole bunch more for the kids.

Here is a pretty picture of the finished Valentine Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes. I gave them some company by adding some candy around them.

If you are transporting these somewhere just add the tinfoil to the muffin pan and stick the cone back down in it. This will keep them from falling over.

"It Takes A Special Heart To Be A Teacher"

To make it even more special for their teacher just make a little sandwich bag filled with treats or you can fill it with some pudding like I did. lol Fold a square piece of blue construction paper or Blue tag board paper over the top of the bag and staple.Cut a small pink heart out and tape to the side of the blue paper. Cut 4 tiny strips of paper and fold them paper back and forth accordian style. These will be the little heart's arms and legs. Tape those on. Add two blue google eyes by taping those on and add a small blue cut out mouth. Cut out a small square piece of pink tag board paper or construction paper and tape to the blue paper. Write the words, "It takes a special heart to be a teacher. To: From: " Write the teacher's name in the TO: spot and the child's name in the FROM: spot.

Print on the templates out and have the child cut the picture of the fishing pole with a worm and bobber out. Then cut out the words below it. Glue down on construction paper. If you print the black and white one color it before you cut it out. You could use tape if don't want to use glue. I added an orange note card under the scripture to make it look pretty. Let your child hang it up on the refrigerator at home to display their awesome work.

Want to make something really cute with this. Cut it out and laminate it. Lay down on top of sheet cake to take to Children's Church for a fun and unique snack for them.
