The Lamb of God 3/31/10

God told the exiled people of Israel, ”When I see the blood, I will pass over you.” It was the the blood of the lamb on the door post. What does this archaic image hold for us today?

My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together -Genesis 22:7-8

Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. -John 1:29

They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony -Rev.12:11

John Stern and Steve Farmer continue our study on the righteousness of God and His approach to the New Covenant. There was a way of appoaching God under the old covenant but now through Jesus Christ, He has opened a new and living way.

But now we are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit and not in the old way of the written code. -Rom 7:6

By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh. – Hebrews 10:21
