If your focus is constantly on “what are we going to grill tonight”, or “what are we going to watch on television”, then courage is not something that will be required. Surprisingly, comfort is not a bad concept, it’s just that we search for comfort in the wrong places, the grill and television (metaphors for creature comforts), as examples, will never give any of us any kind of real or lasting comfort.

If you have a calling to proclaim and spread the gospel message, which, by the way is the common privilege and responsibility for all believers in Christ, then you’ll need to know about, and know how to get, courage. Comfort will come, but it won’t be the comfort we commonly seek, like nestling in the Lazy Boy, or lounging by the pool.

Courage is quite the rare commodity among believers today. But the problem is that God won’t use those of us who don’t have it. Courage is not the absence of fear. Rather, courage is asking God what He would have us to do, responding appropriately to that calling, and moving forward boldly to accomplish that calling. Fear will likely be part of that process. Yes, we can count on that fact. Grilling and television, or a thousand other activities, are not bad in and of themselves, but they often mask and distract us from God’s true calling for our lives. We too often schedule meaningless activities, rather than ordained, meaningful ones. Anything that stands in the way of understanding and responding to God’s call in your life is something that needs to be removed, and now.

The resurrected Lord Jesus made clear to Ananias the game rules that the newly converted apostle Paul would be observing right off the bat. He gives Ananias the order to go meet Saul, later named, Paul. Jesus said, “Go! This man (the apostle Paul) is my chosen instrument to carry My name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel. I will show him how much he must suffer for My name.” Acts 9:15b-16 How’s that for initial marching orders? Not, ‘if’ he’s going to suffer, but rather, ‘how much’ Paul is going to suffer, indicating a significant amount rather than a small amount.

Courage is not necessary until suffering is imminent. Courage is not necessary until attacks loom on the horizon. Courage will rarely be needed if you’re not fulfilling your genuine calling. If you don’t stand for Christ, courage will rarely be needed at all. But if you are going to be a genuine follower of Christ, and not just a Christian in name only – a nominal Christian, then Christ’s gift of courage to you will be a solid requirement for you to have.

Courage is needed for your:

* Going,

and

* Bold Witness

The mission we are to accomplish: “…go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:19-20a – requires going and being a bold witness. It requires speaking with conviction and assuredness – with courage!

Paul responded to the directions of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. He went and he spoke boldly. He often kept his message simple: “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved – you and your household”, for example. Acts 16: 30b-31

In the “going”, he endured all kinds of persecution, assaults, attacks, accusations, mocking, and hardships because he heard, heeded, and responded to Jesus command in his life. Courage was required, and, ironically, as Paul undertook his mission and journey, he also found great comfort. Here’s the lesson about courage and comfort we should be looking for. It is the courage and comfort that we receive when we know – I mean really KNOW that Jesus has promised to be with us and that He indeed will be with us. Man-made courage isn’t enough. It’s only the courage that comes from the supernatural strength and resolve infused in us by the Holy Spirit that will sustain us in all circumstances.

Jesus made sure we understood that. The closing words of the gospel of Matthew are: “And surely I am with you to the very end of the age.” Matthew 18:20b SURELY, He is with us! In that single sentence, you and I can and should gain great courage, and at the same time, we can and should be greatly comforted by this ultimately important promise.

My grill is hot and cold. It’s worn out and weathered. I don’t get any lasting comfort out of television. It’s either off or on, and is the easiest, most passive, and totally non-productive choice of activities in my life. Somewhat amusing sometimes, life is full of no-brainer activities that require zero courage. Activities that require no courage will be the least remembered and least significant times of our lives. Let us keep those activities to a minimum, and know that you and I were created for a higher calling than merely watching paint dry.

We’ll find the need for sustained courage and the soothing comfort of the Holy Spirit when we go and boldly proclaim the most important message – the Good News of Jesus Christ. Fulfilling our mission and calling is both memorable and meaningful. It’s why you were born. You don’t have to be a pastor or professional clergy in order to accomplish your calling. The Gospel message should simply be who you are day in and day out. It revolves around accepting and knowing Jesus Christ in a real and personal manner and not being ashamed to let others know it.

Find the calling that requires more than passive, no-brainer activity. Find the activities wherein fear may be involved, and gravitate toward those activities rather than away. Great courage and great comfort are available to you in great measure – both will be yours in boldly responding to the call of Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Lord, let us be bold. Let us not be ashamed. Let us recognize You in all that we do, and give us courage. Our comfort rests in You, Lord Jesus. Amen.

Only the Humble Need Apply

(Identifying Your Target Market)

Matthew 9:10-13
Romans 3:23-24

Tim Darnell

While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and “sinners” came and ate with Him and His disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked His disciples, ‘Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and “sinners”?

On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means. I desire mercy, not sacrifice. For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Matthew 9:10-13

To be successful in business, you need to accurately identify your target market. If you are sending advertising messages and marketing materials to the wrong people, you will find you have wasted valuable time, energy, and marketing dollars. Each business, service, and product matches-up appropriately with certain people; but it doesn't match all people. In fact, if you mistakenly sell a product or service to the wrong person, someone who is not genuinely a match, then that mistake will turn into issues and complications you don’t need in your life.

Your product should match the right person with the right need, and therefore, the calls you make should be to what we refer to in business as, your specific “target demographic” or your “target market.” If I were to be hired as a marketing consultant for your business, one of the first things we would do is sit down and accurately clarify who your target market is in order to figure out exactly who the likely customers for your product or service would be - what they look like, where they live, where they congregate, the best age group, when do they buy, and as many identifying factors as we could possibly define. We don’t want to waste time, so we want to know with accuracy who your best, genuine target market really is.

Once identified, those are the people on whom we would call. Those are the people to whom we would go. Those are the people to whom we would send our well-thought-out, concise message.

My business is no different. We have people who are genuine candidates and we clearly have many who are not. We offer ongoing, Biblically based mentoring and training for business people and entrepreneurs. We found out quickly that one of the defining traits of genuine client candidates for our service was the intangible quality of “humility.” On the other hand, someone who knows it all and doesn’t recognize the need for counsel, advice, and modeling from qualified people who have achieved what it is they want to achieve – well, they’re just not good candidates. We’ve come across many, many people that don't possess humility, but rather are filled with arrogance and pride. Those two characteristics don’t match-up with our company’s target demographic.

Jesus ran across the same type of arrogance and pride throughout His ministry. The Pharisees were “know-it-all’s”, people of power and positioning in the community and synagogue. Accordingly, they didn’t need some young teacher coming into their territory teaching them or telling them what to do. They certainly didn’t need someone pointing out their faults and what they were doing wrong. But Jesus didn’t come for them. He would have called on them if they would humbly have accepted His authority and listened to His words. But no, they had developed a hardness of heart, eyes that refused to see, and ears that didn't want to hear.

Only the humble recognize the need for teaching. Only a person of humility is willing to deal openly with the problem areas of their lives, and repent of their sin and mistakes. Only the humble need apply.

Jesus Christ knew His target market. He came for the sick and those in need of healing. He came for the thief on the cross, who at the very last moment humbly proclaimed Jesus as his Lord and Savior. The thief was guilty and knew it. In his guilt and shame, he recognized his overwhelming need for Jesus.

If you are in business or in sales, you aren’t going to sell anything to anybody who doesn’t recognize their genuine need or desire for what it is you are selling. We haven’t sold our mentoring service to those who are “know-it-all’s” or who defensively protect, and are comfortable with, their current state of thinking – the sign of an arrogant, prideful mindset. Our company and product has that in common with Jesus’ ministry. People have to be open to changing their minds before “Mindset MentoringSM” means anything to them. And people have to have open hearts in order to see their need for Jesus Christ taking the place of King of their life.

Jesus knew on whom He was calling. He was calling the sick, tax collectors, thieves, outcasts, and sinners. He knew what He offered – healing, restoration, and genuine freedom. And He knew on whom He was to call to be the recipient of His unique, miraculous service. Most of the world could not, and never has, been able to understand that the King has come for those in need, but that was and is exactly God’s incredible mission for His Son.

I’ve often stated (and have built our mentoring company around) the fact that “the Bible and Jesus Christ provide the greatest training anybody could ever experience or desire. Everything else is just man’s reasoning – ‘fine sounding arguments’ and formulas. The public at large falls for lesser training all the time – often glitzy, but mere puff. Powerful training and advice needs to – no, MUST be grounded in true power – that being the Word of God and the person of Jesus Christ. But only the humble need apply. God’s Word is not for those who know it all. God’s Word is not for those who hold their own words as higher than the Master's. His Word will not be received by the arrogant or the proudly positioned. It’s not for those who think answers lie in popular, secular television shows; nor is it for those who refuse to recognize a genuine personal need for healing, restoration, renewal, and salvation.

The sick are the ones who need a doctor. You and I are the ones who need the Savior. “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that comes by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:23-24 Let us be the ones who recognize that great need in our lives, and let us assuredly be the ones who heed Jesus’ call to us personally. We are the ones to whom He calls and comes – praise God!

In business, be savvy about and identify your target market. Also, you should also know that you have been in Jesus’ target ‘market’ for a long time. In fact, you have been on His short list since you were born. But only the humble need apply. If you are humble enough to respond to His call, the value that He is willing to give you is the greatest service you will ever be offered and experience in your entire lifetime.

The 5 Things We Can Learn From Barack Obama for Net-work Mark.eting Success

by Doug Firebaugh

Out of nowhere this hurricane came and blew everyone else out of the water. Quietly. Silently. Deadly. And I may not agree with a lot of his politics, but I have to applaud him for some amazing marketing. I stand in awe of what he and his team did in order to get his message out.

There are 5 things that I have discovered that Barack did that I believe will stand as potentially marketing genius. He did a wonderful job on the marketing of his campaign. Yes, there was the Reverend Wright debacle, but everyone gets a mulligan.

What can we learn from Team Obama about Net.work Mark-eting and Home Bus-iness Success?

1) Stay on Message.

Barack never veered. He was straight on message 98% of the time. BELIEVE was his message and he hammered that home with little exception. He was talking about one thing:

Change you can believe in.

THAT is a perfect message for today's net-work mar.keting entrepreneur. People today are looking for change that they can believe in- in their finances, work, life, and destiny. Barack shot straight on this message and hit a home run.

Stay on message. And YOU will hit a home run like he did.

2) Work the Network that is in front of you.

Everywhere he went, Barack worked the network of people in front of him. He shook hands and introduced himself and then he made them feel SPECIAL. He looked into their eyes. He asked questions and made it about their concerns and their life.

Brilliant.

He worked the network everywhere he went and did not stop. He CONNECTED with everyone because he wanted to connect with people, not just shake their hand. There is a saying, "Wherever you are- BE THERE!" Barack practiced that rule daily.

Work the network in front of you. They are there. They are waiting. Grab a hand and introduce yourself and make them feel special.

3) Follow up with what you spoke up.

Barack's follow up with people, promises, and must do's was awesome. Day after day I read where his team followed up with the ordinary people he met, and with phone calls, and letters. He sent flowers to people. He sent books. He sent cards that said, "Thank you."

He said there was going to be a CHANGE. He acted upon it and delivered in his campaign. What would happen in your business if YOU acted upon your people you met, promises you made and the must do's that are waiting- NOW- not tomorrow?

It would transform your business overnight.

4) Don't Sell Yourself- sell the person on their Possibilities.

I watched Barack with my head shaking as he did NOT sell himself to people- he sold the person on THEMSELVES- and their potential with a message of Change.

Brilliant.

He sold every person he talked to on his message, by selling the person on the possibilities within themselves. He did it on the radio. He did it on TV. He did on the internet. He did it face to face. And people believed in themselves more after he spoke then they did before he spoke.

THAT is a Netw-ork Mark.eting Secret that will stand for ages. Are you practicing it? Get people to believe in themselves and what is possible - MORE - than they believed before your conversation started.

Put your ego aside and focus on the prospect.

5) He engaged flawlessly Politics 2.0 on the internet. So should you.

Barack hit the internet unlike any other politician to date. He used all the web 2.0 tools and strategies. Blogs. Widgets. Ims. Facebook. Twitter. Myspace. Friendster. Digg. Del.icio.us. Ipods. networking. Social networking. And the list goes on and on.

Are you using these in your business? If not, take a page from Barack Obama's playbook and START. It may take you a while to an the power of the internet and the new web 2.0- but it DOES WORK. Its popularity is huge. Families schedule their evenings around the Tues. and Wed. night airings on Fox and love the suspense of a live performance. For some seeing what Simon will say is almost as entertaining as the musical performance itself. "American Idol Gives Back 2008" is a powerful vehicle that will fund many causes.

The show closed with "Shout to the Lord", a wonderful song, an awesome performance, BUT the song is all about worshiping Jesus Christ.
Where did the name of Jesus Go?
Who made the decision to take Jesus Christ out of His own worship song? Deception is subtle: This song was clearly aimed at the Christian demographic as a ploy to get Christians to give $ to fund many causes but not in the name of Jesus Christ. Fox network wants our Christian money, but not our Savior.
Another note worthy mention is all the comments on the social networking sites about the airing of "shout to the Lord" and how wonderful it is that the American Idol franchise supports the Christian demographic. Wake up: They clearly denied the name of Jesus Christ. Many luke warm Christians probably gave to Idol and gave nothing to the ministries that have been around for years well before Hollywood began going to Africa for "feel good" video clips. Be careful during these days.

2 Timothy 3:5 NIV
Godlessness in the Last Days
having a form of godliness but denying its power. The Truth Project is an innovative DVD curriculum that teaches viewers how to develop a systematic and comprehensive biblical world view. Educator Dr. Del Tackett is both engaging and winsome as he teaches Christians to apply biblical truths to every area of life.
The Christian world view can be summed up in a single phrase: "Jesus is Lord" -- which is the first creed of Christianity. Understanding Christ's lordship over all of life is no easy task. Yet, once we begin to understand that all of life--not just "church" life--is of intense interest to God, we are able to bring a renewed sense of purpose to our lives and faith. The Lordship of Christ does not allow us to ignore art, politics, or literature, any more than it allows us to ignore the lost, hungry, sick, or the poor. Only by seeing the world through God's eyes, or what we call "thinking Christianity," will we understand our mandate to redeem the fullness of our culture and reach out to a dying world. Bottom line: our interests can be no smaller than God's.

Dr. Tackett is president of the Focus on the Family Institute and former Executive Vice President to Focus on the Family. He also is an adjunct professor at New Geneva Theological Seminary and Summit Ministries. Dr. Tackett served over 20 years in the United States Air Force and served at the White House during the George H. W. Bush administration where he was appointed by President Bush as the director of technical planning for the National Security Council. Following his service at the White House, he served in various senior analyst and manager capacities at Kaman Sciences Corporation and ITT Industries. He is an ordained elder in the Presbyterian Church in America.

For more information regarding The Truth Project go to

http://www.thetruthproject.org

<category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Dani Johnson. Some of you are familiar with Dani Johnson. Set aside time this week to watch these. Dani Johnson is an excellent mentor and her new book Spirit Driven Success is a must read. I cannot encourage you more to do so. She does one of the best jobs of covering biblical success principles in the marketplace. Yes, there are 1,500 scriptures dealing with finances.

Dani is not a pastor and she does not even call her business a ministry yet tens of thousands are coming to receive the truth in Christ while seeking success training in a business setting.

If you know people in your life dealing with a poverty mindset, or a lottery mindset, message #2 is powerful. Follow the fruit to the root and deal with those issues. Take notes on key things the Holy Spirit is saying to you.

http://www.bennyhinn.org/media/2008-2-4.asx Dani Johnson testimony--day 1

http://www.bennyhinn.org/media/2008-2-5.asx Dani Johnson interview--day 2

http://www.bennyhinn.org/media/2008-2-6.asx Dani Johnson interview--day 3

Here is my promise. Right, you say, and Elvis has been sighted again, too. People who hoped to find the famous vessel and the legendary voice have been pretty much in the same boat (so to speak). No proof. Until today.

Led by explorer and adventurer Dr. Bob Cornuke, a fourteen-man crew returned summer 2006 from Iran bearing stunning evidence they may have found the long-anticipated and coveted discovery of the remains of Noah's Ark. The team consisted of a "Who's Who" of business, law, and ministry leaders including Barry Rand (former CEO of Avis), the author and Christian apologist Josh McDowell, Frank Turek (co-author with Norm Geisler of I Don't Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist), Boone Powell (former CEO of Baylor Medical Systems), and Arch Bonnema (president of Joshua Financial).

The unusual object is perched on a slope 13,120 feet above sea level. After studying the discovery site, Bonnema observed, "These beams not only look like petrified wood, they are so impressive that they look like real wood. This is an amazing discovery that may be the oldest shipwreck in recorded history."

The team returned to the U.S. from rugged mountains in Iran with astonishing video footage of a monstrous black formation which looks like rock but bears the amazing image of hundreds of massive, wooden, hand-hewn beams. Could it be the lost ark on which two of every animal once sailed with their human rescuer?

Other evidence includes the discovery of what looks like an ancient stone altar higher up the mountain, with pottery shards around the base – possibly the location of the altar Noah built as recorded in Genesis 8:20. After returning from the trip, the team received phone calls from scientists around the world saying that the most ancient DNA of both horses and grapes have been traced to the very valley at the foot of this mountain. Genesis 9:20 states, “Noah began farming and planted a vineyard.” And could it be “coincidence” that within 25 miles of this location there is found every major ecosystem helpful to man and animals so all could quickly find their place and flourish, be fruitful, and multiply, as commanded by God in Genesis 9:1?

We recently had the honor of meeting Arch Bonnema in person at the Fall 2006 Mindset Mentoring Conference (Advantage Conferences, LLC) in Dallas, TX. Mr. Bonnema recounted the adventure of his life, spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Tears flowed as he spoke of counting the cost of obeying God’s call, as they were all told to put their affairs in order and say good-bye to family and friends before leaving for Iran, probably the most dangerous place in the world for Americans to travel, not knowing whether they would ever be back.

As a private effort of Arch & Sherry Bonnema of Texas started funding projects to restore the lives of orphans in the most desperate third world countries. The mission has grown as it has teamed up with other orphan focused organizations.

For more information on Arch Bonnema and his ministry efforts
http://myhouseministries.org

Your Actions will always follow your beliefs

I heard a story one time ....about 2 farmers who desperately needed Rain. He succeeded in everything he did. He was the original networker. Look at scripture to find amazing strategies that will help you in everything you do. Christ had certain tactics he utilized in the super & the natural.

Christ’s Five Success Scriptures

We can learn for networking, creating organizations, talking to people.
Christ sets the bar in integrity, honesty, spirituality, what we should do.
Only one way to achieve ‘best success’ – through power & glory of Christ.

1. John 1:36-37 Jesus asked disciples following him “What do you want?” Asking in spiritual/supernatural way, He already knew what they wanted & where they were.

• He was always starting conversations that pulled people in. Focuses on what they want, not what you want.

Any kind of question that focuses on their interests will pull people in. The more interested you are in people, the more they’ll be interested in you. Engage the person’s mind and imagination. Ask Christ to help you. Emulate what Jesus did, study the scriptures, take it into your business.

Jesus was interested in how he could help/transform people. We must be willing to engage in conversation but turn it into transformational time, something that transforms people’s lives. Jesus was all about teaching people Kingdom principles.

• Jesus was always on-message 100%. Must connect to Holy Spirit to stay on-message & not distracted.
• Be aware of who’s around you. Scan the room to see who you could connect with, create a conversation that pulls them in. Create magnetism about your conversation, ask the Lord to put His words in your mouth, prayer over every appointment, every phone call. He’ll compel you to talk to the right person.

It’s time we move God’s realm more into the marketplace, be proud to be Christian networkers.

2. John 1:38-39 Disciples followed Him to where He was staying & spent the day with Him.

• Jesus was willing to open up to new people & find out how He could help them. Knew how to network & understood that’s what He should do to plant more seeds.

We have a powerful message with AC that must get out to the masses, the power of relationship with Jesus.

Take the lead in conversation and have a ‘host’ mentality, take control, engage with questions, welcome people in, introduce people to each other. Most people are too fearful to do that. Jesus always directed the conversation.

God wants you to become hugely successful with your business, we must let Him be God. He cares about every detail.

3. John 1: 41-42

First thing Andrew did was go to his brother & said “We’ve found the Messiah!”

Jesus created massive impact with people because of His spiritual glory, radiated the Father.

If you want new reps to go immediately & talk to people, you must create impact.

When you operate your business in the glory of God, then that becomes your compass, the Spirit goes before you.

Jesus radiated such impact that people started talking about Him, wanted to introduce people to Him. People brought their loved ones to Him & the power of the same Spirit is within us.

Concept of ‘automatic networking’ – impact that we carry with H.S. with us, people will automatically think of who they can introduce to you.

If it’s not happening, ask the Lord to build that power within you.

If you touch people’s emotions, hope, & destiny, they’ll bring their friends.

Jesus gave Simon a new name, Peter, the Rock. Christ spoke out changes that were available in each life, could give people a new image of themselves in a single word.

We have to be able to show people what they CAN be, more than they are now.

“I wish you could see you through my eyes. You would see somebody totally different.”

See the goodness, strength, power in others, not limited by where they are right now. Took labels OFF people & put His vision in them.

His name, His glory, His image – we can operate in Him beyond limits & beyond imagination in order to move forward.

Take labels off yourself -- ‘struggler’ -- and become ‘victor’ waiting on the victory.

Labels can’t stay in your heart if He’s there, ie ‘loser,’ ‘average,’ etc. Jesus wants to transform your label to something totally different. Let Him re-label you to who you really are in Christ.

4. John 1: 43 Jesus told Philip ‘Follow Me.’ He was always moving, looking for new people, the ultimate fisher of men.

Do a ‘pattern interrupt.’ Go somewhere new, see new faces, hold new conversations, talk to new people.

Jesus was always on the search for who He could transform.

Not a whole dialogue, just a simple message. Power of brevity. If you understand the power that lies within you, you don’t need a complicated message. It’s not what you say, but how you say it.

God has a plan for every single person to become the person He sees you as. He wants you to move in the power of God this week, take one scripture & start developing how you’re going to employ it in your business.

Which one do you need to connect with most? Focus on one each day & get better at it.

Any one of them could explode your business if you network like Jesus.

If you could create ‘automatic networking’ in your life, then amazing things will happen.

Walk in love, even when people aren’t ready to accept our message. Light will always drown out darkness.

Christian Success Principles – DVD set from Christian Success Institute

Doug Firebaugh

http://www.SuccessChurch.com
http://www.TheOriginalNetworker.com

Who Are You?

Definitions can be empowering, although usually they are limiting. Let’s start with how we define our self. The very way we think of our self is a huge determinant in what we are able to achieve and accomplish.

The world teaches us to define our self by our job. A job is only a small measure of who we/you are and is an extremely limiting factor to our very lives if we think of ourselves in terms of a job. Why is that?

* Jobs have finite, limited incomes that are part and parcel to the definition of the job. Defining yourself as “Your Job Title Here” pigeon-holes you into a certain income bracket.

* Jobs have time constraints (9:00 to 5:00; Monday thru Friday; fifty ‘work-weeks’ a year / two weeks vacation; lunch break). Defining yourself as a “Your Job Title Here” completely and invisibly (indiscernible) blocks off your calendar and schedule

* Jobs limit the time you are with your family and take precedence over that precious time. Is that acceptable? No, yet we allow that premise into our lives in the corporate world.
*
Jobs limit family travel by virtue of the time and money-making schedule inherent to the job.

* Jobs require you to abdicate authority rather than take on more authority. This is the single biggest hurdle that corporate individuals have to mentally jump. We are permission oriented, which means we allow another person or entity to have control over us - someone else defines our life for us.

* Jobs have a single skill set that you are required to methodically implement day in and day out. You’re hired for those skills and not other skills that would enable you to expand your territories.

They teach you that you don’t have to be responsible for factors outside your particular skill set and job definition which realistically leads to “the buck never stopping” on your watch or in your domain. The buck stops elsewhere. It’s not my area of responsibility so it has to be someone else’s area of responsibility. Quickly following that premise is that “IT” is not my fault. I’m not to blame – someone else is.

There’s a new game that becomes not just a game, but a way of life and deeply ingrained mindset called, “The Blame Game”.

Entrepreneurs define themselves Distinctly & Differently from the way the masses do, and from the way they defined their selves in the past. Christ-centered Entrepreneurs define their selves through Christ the Great Creator, He Who is without limits, He who is beyond natural – which creates a definition that is greater and is in Supernatural terms.

Define yourselves in terms of He who loves fully because He is love - He who is infinite and infinitely powerful. He lives within us. We live within Him. “He” defines us. The kingdom of God defines us. Luke 17:21 This is a radical departure – make no mistake. Departure means leaving the former place. Greed, in order to exist, requires the concept of limitation to be present, not abundance. When you live life in terms of God’s abundance there is no need for greed. Greed totally gloms up the wealth building process and the concept of adding value to society and God’s kingdom. It stops us emotionally from initiating and sustaining the “Going Out” process. If you have any semblance of greed, you MUST eradicate it immediately. Greed is a very common Giant of the worst pedigree. Greed is self-centered, and will:

1. Keep you from Making Money
2. Keep you from Adding Value to the Lives of Others
3. Cause You to Lose the Money You Have
4. Keep Key Partners away from You

Embracing, Expecting and Facilitating both going out and coming in: expecting and looking for ways to create is the way to create cash flow. Associate “joy”, “peace”, and “acceptance” with the idea of transactions. Greed doesn’t allow those emotions/concepts to juxtapose to the concept of transacting. Greed teaches us to fear transactions and be disgruntled about transactions – no better way to stop commerce and income than to fear transactions.

We should help other to actually live beyond that limited thinking and trade that past thinking for a new realm - New Home – purposely conceived, perpetuated, nourished and grown in our thought lives. This requires new, expanded thinking. It requires taking the old thinking and turning it upside down – transforming it and rearranging it backward to forward, left to right and right to left. It requires renewing of the mind – daily.

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - His good, pleasing, and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

Be Encouraged

Mike Melvin

The Realm of Success Giants

Ever had "one of those days?"

You know... you look around, and your whole Success Structure you have worked so hard to build, appears to be falling apart... torn apart by "giants" that you cannot seem to handle?

You know...

Like the Giants of Procrastination...

The Giants of Fear...

The Giants of Indecision...

The Giants of Hesitation...

The Giants of Doubt...

The Giant of Clutter...

The Giant of "Roudtoit"... I have been to
conferences, conventions, assemblies, retreats, revivals, crusades,
church services, etc. This weekend was so incredibly POWERFUL that I
am still in awe, awestruck by His Startling Love and Undeniable
Power, His Sweet Soul Stirring and Life Changing Presence that was
experienced by all! Wow! This is business/ministry and
ministry/business in an amazingly harmonious and focused Christ
Centered Enterprise. HE was there in the very midst, The Immanuel,
God With Us!

I am so thankful that the Lord allowed me to be a part of it all. The more you obey and love Him; the more you make Him the center of your life; and the more you are thankful for the many gifts he has given you, the more you will see Him amazingly at work in every aspect of your life.

Hezekiah was one of the few good kings of Judah to actually love, serve, and obey God as his predecessor, king David had. Scripture makes it clear that Hezekiah was victorious, innovative, and successful in all he undertook. God made Hezekiah look like a champion as the Assyrians were threatening to annihilate Jerusalem. He (God) intervened through many miracles and wonders to rescue the people of Judah. He also gave Hezekiah great riches and honor (v27).

I teach Christ-centered entrepreneurial and personal success as a profession and business. One of the points that you will hear often within the body of our extensive training is that success can actually be one of the worst things that can ever happen to a person if they are not very careful. The primary drawback to success is that it can easily take the place of serving and loving God. We can unwittingly become dependent on success – the accomplishment itself, rather than rightfully depending on God.

The fact is, few individuals handle success well. Why - because with accomplishment, wins, and/or financial gain, pride inevitably steps into the picture. Pride deceives us into thinking that our success is self-created. We get puffed up, thinking our talent, work, and special abilities are the reasons we’ve excelled. We start feeling invincible, and we stop being humble before God. We stop being grateful to Him for His mighty works, while thinking of our success as our own creation.

We can easily fall into the trap of thinking that “we’ve got it made”. But the fact is, we didn’t make the success. After our initial self-congratulations, we then become dependent on our accolades, titles, positions, and the material objects we’ve received in the process. Dependence on our success, or anything other than God Himself, is a major mistake!

Hezekiah was greatly esteemed by the people of Judah due to the fact that he was king at the time God performed many mighty miracles - most notably, delivering the land from their powerful enemies. But it wasn’t Hezekiah who was responsible for that success. Yes, he was in office and he received the accolades; but it was God who sent an angel to wipe out the opposing forces (see vv 20-22). Sennacherib, king of Assyria, had to withdraw in disgrace after he had taunted, threatened, and demeaned Hezekiah publicly. To make matters worse, the disgraced Assyrian king was soon-after killed at the sword of his own sons. The rescue of Judah, and Sennacherib’s demise were orchestrated and actuated by God, not Hezekiah.

Hezekiah, according to the worldly viewpoint of his countrymen and even his enemies, was greatly successful. But as we read on, the chronicler says that Hezekiah grew complacent in his success. He took his wealth and victories for granted. When one begins to take his/her success for granted, they tend to forget that it was only by God’s kindness (v25) that they were privileged to receive those signs, healings, and victories.

Today, despite your challenges, you are living a life of success, probably not on a numerical or positional scale that Hezekiah experienced. Nonetheless, you have great success in your life regardless of ledgers or comparisons. Your success, where you are right now, is something you should greatly appreciate and never take for granted. God has given you great miracles, signs, healings, and victories that you should be exceedingly thankful for, regardless of your socio-economic or power level.

Your success is not just a past or present phenomenon; your future also holds great promise as well. God has an exciting future for you – one of amplified miracles, favor, blessings, and wealth as you obey and love Him. You can trust in God’s goodness and abundance both now and forever.

The stern side of this message is that God is angered when we don’t recognize the good He has done for us. Hezekiah’s complacency and pride greatly angered God. Vs 25 states, “But Hezekiah’s heart was proud and he did not respond to the kindness shown him; therefore the Lord’s wrath was on him, and on Judah and Jerusalem.”

The story takes a good twist, however. Thankfully, “…Hezekiah repented of the pride of his heart, as did the people of Jerusalem; therefore the Lord’s wrath did not come upon them during the days of Hezekiah.” (V26)

How are you handling your success? Have you recognized it? Are you thankful to God for it, or are you like Hezekiah prior to his repenting? It is a serious folly to not be fully aware of the success that God has given us. It is also folly to not recognize that He is currently doing a magnificent work in our lives. We must constantly recognize our many blessings, and fall humbly on our knees before Him in expression of our sincere gratitude.

Psalm 24:1 makes it clear, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” That certainly is all-encompassing, and includes our very selves, as well as our success, accomplishments past, present, and future. He has bestowed many riches on us – many successes, and many miracles are occurring daily for you and for me.

Let us think of ourselves in terms of our success. Each of us has many victories to count and savor. And we continue to be successful as we recognize, love, obey, and depend upon our mighty God. He wants you to know that you are successful. He wants you to know that He is the source of that success. And He wants you to know that he is and always will be faithfully and consistently caring and providing for you.

That is super reason for our humble thanks and our constant adoration, and that is how we should be handling our success – today, right now. To Him be the glory - all praise and gratitude to the God of success, provision, rescue, power, miracles, and wonders!

* * * * * * * * * * *

Be Encouraged,

Mike Melvin

Fear Not

We have some incredible gifts within the body of Christ that are not being used. He's been on all the major networks (although he's
not allowed to discuss his faith in Christ on those shows) due
to his extensive discoveries as a world traveler, scientist, and
the leading authority on the location of Noah's Ark, The Ark of
the Covenant, Mount Sinai (where Moses received the Ten
Commandments in the presence of God - the mountain he's
discovered is burned just as scripture describes, with no other
scientific explanation other than the Biblical account), the
anchors that sank with the boat that the Apostle Paul was on
described in the book of Acts, and many more.

This is one of the most fascinating men you'll ever meet in your
life. The filmed
footage and pictures will astound you and you'll walk away with
a totally new, refreshed perspective on the Bible. Out of the 52 parables Jesus told, 45 had a workplace context. Of the 40 divine interventions recorded in Acts, 39 were in the marketplace.
Jesus spent his adult life as a carpenter until age 30 before he went into a preaching ministry in the workplace. Jesus called 12 workplace individuals, not clergy, to build His church.
Work is Worship - The Hebrew word "Avodah" is the root word from which we get the words work and worship.
Work in its different forms is mentioned more than 800 times in the Bible, more than all the words used to express worship, music, praise, and singing combined.

"I believe that one of the next great moves of God is going to be through believers in the workplace." Dr. Billy Graham

"The spiritual manifests itself in a life which knows no division into sacred and secular." Oswald Chambers

"Spirituality in the workplace is exploding." Laura Nash, Business Ethicist, Harvard University

"God is marshalling his people in the workplace as never before in history. God is up to something. The next spiritual awakening could take place in the marketplace."

-Henry Blackaby

"There is a distinction between church work and the work of the church.
Church work is what you do for the organized institution of the church.
The work of the church is what is done between Sundays when the church is scattered all over the metropolitan area where it is located - in homes, schools, offices, on construction jobs, in market places." - Dick Halverson

"Workplace ministry will be one of the core future innovations in church ministry." George Barna, Boiling Point, Regal Publishing

"We reviewed 52 movements in the body of Christ. We narrowed it down to 28, then 12, then 4 to invest our resources in the coming years. The workplace is one of those because this is an area where we see God working." Chad Hammond, Director, New Ventures (division of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Assoc.)

"Our surveys reveal that 90-97% of Christians have never heard a sermon relating biblical principles to their work life." Doug Sherman, author, Your Work Matters to God.

"Societal transformation is high on God's agenda and the chief catalytic force to bring it about will be Christians ministering in the marketplace." C. Peter Wagner, Chancellor, Wagner Leadership Institute

"The church in the workplace is the purest form of the body of Christ today due to its diversity. Workplace believers are less prone to denominational differences because they have a common goal of representing Christ in their workplaces. The movement will break down denominational barriers that have been held in the past." Os Hillman, International Coalition of Workplace Ministries

"The most common self-inflicted put-down is 'I am not a pastor-I am just a layperson. This is all part of a clever satanic scheme to neutralize apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers along with the entire army of disciples, already positioned in the marketplace." Ed Silvoso, Anointed for Business, Harvest Evangelism

"Indeed, as with first-century Christianity, it all begins in the marketplace, where the disciples of Jesus daily rub shoulders with the
lost."- Bill McCartney, Promise Keepers, Anointed for Business, Regal Publishing

"In today's global community, the greatest channel of distribution for 'salt and light' is the business community - the marketplace." Bill Pollard, Chairman, Service Master

"Someone recently said that the "First" Reformation took the Word of God to the common man and woman; the "Second" Reformation is taking the work of God to the common man and woman. That time is now. The greatest potential ministry in the world today is the marketplace. Christ's greatest labor force is those men and women already in that environment." Tom Phillips, VP of Training , Billy Graham Evangelistic Association

"The workplace is where a majority of a church congregation, spends a majority of their time, interacting with a majority of the unchurched world. The Church on Monday is evidence that the Church on Sunday is real!" Doug Spada, His Church at Work.org

Be Encouraged,

Poisoned against prosperity

In 1861, President Abraham Lincoln addressed congress with these words:

"Lincoln said those who toil
up from poverty are the ones
to be trusted most..."
...not those who remain in poverty!

Poverty is not a virtue but a self-induced
crime rooted in the mind.
