The Fear of the Lord & Education Part 2 - Educating Children for God

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." (Proverb 9:10) This is our foundational Scripture from Part 1.

In his book, The Fear of the Lord, John Bevere states: “Holy fear is the key to God’s sure foundation, unlocking the treasures of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge.” This truth comes right out of Isaiah 33:6, “And HE shall be the sure foundation [stability] of your times, a wealth of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is his treasure.”

Consequently, if we desire to live securely in these troubled times and teach our children and students how to do this, we must seek the Lord and ask Him to etch in our hearts and in their hearts - the holy fear of the Lord. We can only expect to receive this impartation and discernment that fears God if we are earnestly seeking God’s face (Jeremiah 29:11-14; 32:40) and spending time with Him in His Word. Then the Holy Spirit can reveal to us the fear of the Lord, for it truly is one of the manifestations of the Spirit of God (Isaiah 11:1-2).

There is an interlocking relationship between fearing God and loving God. In other words, we cannot truly love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength until we first learn to reverentially fear Him, and we cannot properly fear Him as we should until we first love Him. To fear God properly leads us to love Him wholeheartedly and appropriately. If fearing God is the beginning of wisdom and knowing God as He truly is, then loving God as He really is leads us to the fulfilling purpose of wisdom, which is to know Him intimately and is eternal life. In short, the love of God must be complemented with the fear of God.

God’s Word teaches us that we need to “Behold then the kindness and severity of God” (Rom 11:22). We are in danger of error and judgment when the doctrine of the love of God is not balanced properly with the doctrine of the fear of the Lord. As it says in Isaiah 66:2 and Jeremiah 5:22, a person who truly fears God will tremble at His Word and in His presence. Obviously, we cannot expect to be admitted into the presence of our glorious King with an attitude of disrespect. We learn to give God the reverence He deserves by pursuing the knowledge of the greatness of His glorious character. The greater our beholding of His glory is and the comprehension of His greatness, the greater our capacity for properly fearing Him and reverencing Him according to His divine order.

“Toward Your holy temple I will bow down in fear of You [in reverence for You].” Psalm 5:7

Finally,we must learn to approach God and serve Him acceptably, in reverence and godly fear (Heb 12:28). This is the KEY to acquiring wisdom and understanding, which will lead us to an intimate relationship with God. The holy and reverential FEAR OF THE LORD is absolutely required as the foundation for all true education.

All education that is not built on the fear of the Lord is built on the shifting sands of humanistic philosophies, and as such, will provide its students with a faulty foundation that will not stand the tests and trials of life. As an example, take a close look at the foundation of the modern American public school system: secular humanism. There is no way for a student to receive a truly godly education in the public school system because that system does not teach the fear of the Lord or the knowledge of the Holy One. In fact, state education exalts man above God and seeks to replace God with man. In such a corrupt system, God is ignored as totally insignificant, or worse, He is denounced as non-existent. Can such a system truly educate children? No, it is simply impossible, for the school system has destroyed the very foundation of all sound wisdom and understanding - the fear of the Lord and Jesus Christ. I pray that Christian parents who have their kids in public schools will wake up to this fact and see that they must in all good conscience remove their children from such an ungodly system that can never truly educate their children.

The Fear of the Lord and Education Part I - Educating Children for God

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Prov 9:10

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Prov 1:7

A foundational principle in the Bible is: “the fear of the Lord” is the beginning of wisdom and of knowledge.
All true learning and education must begin with the knowledge of God and the holy fear of the Lord.

In what is probably the oldest book in the Bible, and certainly one of the oldest verses in the Scriptures, we read:

“Where then does wisdom come from? And where is the place of understanding? ….God understands its [wisdom’s] way; and He knows its place….Then He saw it and declared it; He established it and also searched it out. And to man He said, ‘Behold, the FEAR OF THE LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding’….With Him are wisdom and might; to Him belong counsel and understanding.” Job 28:12,23,27-28 and 12:13

What exactly is "the fear of the Lord?”

Noah Webster defines it as: “In good men, the fear of God is a holy awe or reverence of God and his laws, which springs from a just view and real love of the divine character, leading the subjects of it to hate and shun every thing that can offend such a holy being, and inclining them to aim at perfect obedience. This is filial fear [of the Lord].”

As we see in this definition and in the Scriptures above, the fear of the Lord is often coupled with the accompanying heart attitude and behavioral action of hating evil and departing from evil. Here are a few other Scriptures that show this important relationship:

“By lovingkindness and truth iniquity is atoned for, and by the fear of the Lord, one keeps away from evil.” Prov 16:6 “The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the perverted mouth, I hate.” Prov 8:13 “Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.” Prov 3:7

In light of these Scriptures, a more thorough definition would be: "The fear of the Lord" is to hate evil as much as God hates evil, and thereby to shun evil and turn away from evil so as not to offend such a holy being. This holy fear of God provides the conscience with the motive to be pleasing and obedient to God in everything, to turn away from evil, and to not give in to temptation.

The book of Proverbs makes it clear that “the fear of the Lord” is a godly virtue that must be valued, that must be chosen, that must be sought after, and that must be desired and searched for as for hidden treasure. Proverbs chapter two teaches how a disciple of Jesus can discern, cultivate, and find the fear of the Lord. Simply put, there is man’s part and there is God’s part, described in an “IF” condition followed by a “THEN” resulting reward. Man’s part is to actively cry out for discernment, to ask for understanding, and to seek for wisdom from God as silver and to search for her as for hidden treasure. This includes receiving God’s words and treasuring His commandments within one’s heart, actively listening to God’s wisdom, and inclining one’s heart to understanding.

In practical steps, this involves listening, reading, praying over, meditating upon, and memorizing God’s Word and God’s commandments. Christian parents need to model this to their children, practice it with them, and teach them this holy discipline of crying out for and searching for God’s hidden treasure of wisdom, knowledge, discernment, and understanding. This process can also be fostered, encouraged, modeled, and practiced in Christian home schools and in Christian day schools.

However, this invaluable spiritual and moral discipline cannot be modeled and taught in public schools which despise the fear of the Lord and the knowledge of the Holy One and which are built upon the shifting sandy foundations of secular humanism, socialism, and atheism. The fear of the Lord is a virtue that is the antithesis of everything the government schools stand for. The fear of the Lord is incompatible with humanism and the idolatry of man found in government schools.

God’s part, the “THEN” aspect of this principle, is to impart into the heart of the searching disciple the fear of the Lord, the knowledge of God, discernment, and understanding. It is the Lord alone who gives wisdom, and from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. In this whole process, the disciple of Jesus will discover the knowledge of God and will discern the fear of the Lord, righteousness, justice, equity, and discretion. God’s stored up wisdom will be poured out on the disciple so that wisdom will enter his heart, knowledge will become pleasant to his soul, discretion will guard him, and understanding will watch over him to deliver him from the evil way and from the perverted man and from the strange woman and the adulteress.

What is Multiculturalism and How Is It Affecting Our Kids and Our Nation?

What is "multiculturalism" exactly? We've all heard the term a million times, but how many of us really know what it means and what its implications are? How is it affecting our kids, American public education, the values of American youth, the church, and the destiny of our nation? These are the questions that Dr. Samuel Blumenfeld discusses in his book, Revolution Via Education, 2009.

Here's a note from the Preface: "In these essays I have tried to show how our country has been in the throes of an ongoing socialist revolution since the turn of the last century. And it has been engineered by real people with real names who consider themselves to be Americans but who have been doing all in their power to change the form of government given us by our Founding Fathers. The two major underpinnings of a socialist, ungodly, controlled society are public education and the income tax. We shall not be a free people until we get rid of both institutions." In this book, Blumenfeld gets to the root of our crisis: our spiritual state and the need for an explicitly Christian form of education. It's a wake up call to the church to make certain and deliberate steps to raising up a generation of Kingdom-builders.

I'd like to share some of my favorite quotes that summarize Dr. Samuel Blumenfeld's insights into "multiculturalism" from his book, Revolution Via Education.

"Multiculturalism has nothing to do with the improvement of academic performance. It is simply part of the plan to use the public schools for political and psychological purposes rather than for academic ones."

"Multiculturalism is based on the notion that the traditional Christian model of American values based on Biblical teachings is no longer valid as the model to be held up to children in public schools....The public school as an Americanizing institution, providing a common body of values for all American children, no longer exists."

"American Christians, for the most part, have lost control over American cultural institutions. All of our public schools, all of our state universities and colleges, and most of our private universities and colleges are now totally and irrevocably in the hands of anti-Christian humanists. Their control of our educational institutions virtually guarantees their dominance over the culture, unless Christians can develop a strategy to regain control over the education of Christian children. It is the Christian patronage of the public school that is permitting the humanists to win the cultural war. The tide of that war could be turned tomorrow IF Christians would remove their children from the public schools and put them in private Christian schools or homeschools where they could be taught Biblical principles."

"Our public schools, in order to be accredited, are now required to teach that there are no moral absolutes, that every individual through a process of values clarification has the right to freely choose his morals, and that ethics are situational. The result has been moral anarchy, moral confusion, moral decline, moral disintegration, and moral civil war. No nation can tolerate the confusion of two conflicting moral codes in its courts."

"What all of this means in practical terms is that American public schools are no longer to be used to inculcate a common set of moral and spiritual values based on our Biblical heritage, but are to be used to promote a plethora of competing values systems, with Biblical Christian values cleverly excluded from competition because they violate the sacred separation of church and state. In other words, the public school is now a marketplace of competing pagan and anti-Christian belief systems. The students have a choice, but the market is rigged. That, in a nutshell, is how multiculturalism works to undermine our Judeo-Christian heritage."

"Multiculturalism is really nothing more than a new form of anti-Americanism. What kind of Americans will the public schools turn out? Americans ignorant of their nation's founding principles, incapable of defending their country against foreign ideologies, adrift in a sea of moral and cultural anarchy, at the mercy of fears, slogans, and terrorist blackmail. The simple truth is that the ultimate purpose of multiculturalism is to wean the American people away from patriotism. In fact, multiculturalism is an all-important steppingstone to globalism, that concept of a future world government, which the public schools are now promoting more aggressively than ever....The NEA recognized no American culture that the student may take pride in."

"The purpose of globalism is to prepare young Americans to accept as inevitable and desirable a world socialist government in which American national sovereignty will be voluntarily surrendered for the great good of 'world peace and brotherhood'. Social studies textbooks have been written to deliberately play down American patriotism and national pride known as 'ethnocentrism' in order to prepare young Americans for world citizenship.....Outcome Based Education is a further attempt to move the American public school in the direction of multicultural world government."

"Multiculturalism is really nothing more than a transition stage in the changeover from one dominant culture to another. America is moving from a dominant Christian culture to a dominant humanist-pagan culture. The transition is usually marked by increasing conflict between the advocates of the two opposing worldviews."

"It is the duty and responsibility of Christian leaders to stop the wholesale paganization of Christian youth. We should take our lessons from the Catholics of the 1850s who realized that they had no choice but to abandon the public schools for educational institutions of their own if they were to preserve Catholic culture for the next one hundred years. Their success indicated that it can be done IF a resolute community is mobilized by a resolute leadership. The fact that thousands of Christian parents are already involved in homeschooling indicates that they are not waiting for this resolute leadership to arise."

Should Christian Parents Send their Children to Public School as Salt & Light?

When I talk with Christian parents about providing their children with a thoroughly Christ-centered education, one of their main objections is that they believe they should send their children to public school to be "salt and light" in the darkness. In other words, one of the most frequently heard arguments for sending Christian children into the darkness of government schools is that we should try to save the lost in those schools by sending our precious young children there as little evangelists. Does this argument sound familiar?

Here is my reply after an in-depth study of the issue using the Biblical, theological, historical, and educational evidence that is available to anyone who has ears to hear.

The "salt & light" command (and the "Great Commission") were given by Jesus to His trained and adult disciples, not to young children. This is a common misunderstanding in the church today. As an example of the fallacy of this kind of thinking, you'll never find a Christian family sending their 8-year-old son off to Africa to be a missionary to evangelize the lost. Missionaries who are sent to foreign lands are mature disciples and adults, who have been trained theologically in ministering the Gospel and fighting spiritual warfare, who have been trained in the foundations of the faith and in apologetics, etc.

Another problem is that when Christian parents send their young children into the humanist religion government schools, what actually happens is that most of them (85%) have their salt removed by the world (via teachers & peers & curriculum indoctrination) and most of them have their light extinguished. This has been documented by the Southern Baptist Convention's Council on Family Life, by Ken Ham and Answers in Genesis, by George Barna's Research Group, and by many others. When the church tries to apply the "salt and light" argument to putting their children in government schools, the world ends up converting the Christian children and conforming them to the world, not the other way around. And yet God's Word says, "Do not be conformed to this world..." It simply does not work and is not only counter-productive but actually destructive to Christian children and their families. Sure, there's the admirable exception here and there, but the vast majority of these kids actually lose their faith because they are not adequately trained and grounded in their faith before being sent out into the darkness to be light.

I, for one, am not calling for anyone to pull up stakes and head for the hills. I am all for engaging the culture, challenging the culture, and transforming it through Christ & the Gospel of the Kingdom. We are truly called to be a city set on a hill and a light in the darkness, but the city is not a small untrained and unprepared child - it is the "called out ones" of the church who are gathered together as mature disciples of Jesus and who know how to give an answer for the hope that is within them. It is the collection of Christian families that make up the local church.

As parents, our primary purpose is to train up our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord, to teach them the commandments of God (see Deut 6), to teach them our spiritual history and the great wonders of God, to disciple them and educate them for God, AND to protect them from the wiles of the enemy and the world that would seek to destroy them and turn them away from God. We protect them while we disciple them and while they mature in their faith and in holy character. Eventually, we they are grown up and mature, we release them as arrows that shoot into the future and God goes with them and makes them His salt and light. However, it is unwise and unBiblical and contrary to the teaching of Jesus and the apostles to send these precious little ones out into the hostile world prematurely, untrained, immature, and not prepared to overcome it by the blood of Jesus and the word of their testimony and by laying their lives down for their King.

I'm in no way "condemning" a lost world or saying that we shouldn't seek to save the lost. As grown disciples of Jesus, yes, of course we should and I do. This is one of our primary purposes. As we raise our kids "in the Lord," we can model this to our children in the safety of our family and home and church as we reach out to the lost. However, this does not mean we are to send them out into the enemy's camp as young children by putting them in government schools where their faith will be assaulted for 13 years and where they will be indoctrinated by and into a new religion - the religion of secular humanism. No, that is not God's purpose or plan for our children.

Nowhere in Scripture does he command parents to do anything so unwise. Instead, everywhere in Scripture He commands parents to teach their own children and train and raise them in the fear of the Lord, at home in the safety of their own families, with assistance from the church. Institutionalizing our children in state education is the most dangerous, unwise, and destructive thing any Christian parent can do, and it plays right into the hands of the humanists and their goal of destroying our children's faith and their parent's authority in their lives and replacing it with the new religion of secular humanism, post-modernism, moral relativism, and evolutionary Darwinism, so that they will become good submissive "dumbed down" socialized citizens who will worship the State as their "god" and look to the State to parent them and to provide them with everything they need. This leads to idolatry, Statism, and socialism, and the complete loss of freedom, independence, and educational freedom.

I pray that you would consider the points I have raised as you think through your philosophy on these things. These are not just my thoughts on the subject. I am sharing what I have learned over the past 3 years of intense research into Christian education and the history of modern education in America. There are many other Christians, including some well-known Christian pastors and leaders, who have done their own research and have come to the same convictions and conclusions. What Is Education & What Are the Top 6 Goals of Educating Children for God?

Q: What is education?

Let’s begin by defining it. According to Noah Webster, the father of American Christian education, “Education comprehends all that series of instruction and discipline which is intended to enlighten the understanding, correct the temper, and form the manners and habits of youth, and fit them for usefulness in their future stations. To give children a good education in manners, arts and science, is important; to give them a religious education is indispensable; and an immense responsibility rests on parents and guardians who neglect these duties.”

Q: In light of this Scripturally-based definition, what are the 6 most important goals of Christian education?

Jesus tells us: “And this is eternal life, that they may know Thee, the Only True God, and Jesus Christ whom Thou has sent.” – Jn 17:3

The most important task and the primary purpose of every Christian parent is to educate their children for God. The educational role of parents can be briefly summarized in the following 6 goals:

1. to teach their children that the purpose of their lives and studies is to know God and Jesus Christ, to love and serve God wholeheartedly, and to know His voice;

2. to form godly character by depositing in them moral virtue and forming godly habits, while reproving and correcting the temper;

3. to train them in the art of Christian self-government so that they are governed internally by the Spirit of God;

4. to renew their minds with the Word of God and train them in Biblical scholarship;

5. to assist them in developing a truly Christ-centered Biblical worldview;

6. to train them in wisdom, knowledge, and discernment so as to equip them to fulfill their Providential purpose in God’s Kingdom.

Our chief aim as Christian parents is to lay Jesus Christ and obedience to His commandments as the only foundation of all wisdom, knowledge, and learning. Our long-term vision is to perpetuate our faith and the covenant we have with God to our children and to teach them to pass it on from generation to generation. This is what it means to educate children for God. Have you ever wondered why God chose Abraham to be the father of faith? Genesis 18:19 tells us, “For I have chosen him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice; in order that the Lord may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken to him.” In other words, God chose Abraham because He knew that Abraham would be faithful to teach his children to keep the covenant with God and perpetuate their faith from generation to generation.

In Psalm 78:5-7, we find this same generational vision: “For He established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers, that they should teach them to their children, that the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born, that they may arise and tell them to their children, that they should put their confidence in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments.” We see here that God Almighty commands fathers to teach their children His commandments and His works, so that their faith and obedience to God was passed on perpetually from generation to generation.

Christian Educational Goals and Objectives for Parents and Christian Teachers

In my research, I’ve developed a detailed composite of Christian educational goals and objectives that I’d like to share with you so that you can have a target to aim at as you educate your children for God. These are all derived from an explicitly Christian philosophy of education and can be used by any home school parent or Christian school teacher. A combination of the Biblical principle approach, the teacher-mentor approach, and the classic approach is designed to facilitate, model, teach, and enable our students to achieve the following educational goals and objectives.

For the spiritual growth of the student,

To instruct the student in God’s Word, to teach the tenets of its doctrines and principles and leading ideas of Scripture, to edify the student towards full spiritual stature in Christ, and to equip the student for a life of Kingdom service. To impart to the student, by the power of the Spirit of Truth, the full experiential knowledge of God for a deep awareness of the glory, the justice, the holiness, the goodness, and the love of God, and of the fallen state of man, so that the student will be drawn to surrender his heart and submit his life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. To train the student to hear the voice of God and follow the leading of the Spirit in his daily walk in the Spirit. To teach the student the stewardship of his most sacred possessions – his conscience and his character. To teach, model, and develop wisdom in the student, which is the ability to live a godly life skillfully in an ungodly world, and to foster and develop in the student moral discernment, discretion, and practical righteousness (right living and right relationships) before God and man in every area of life. To foster the spiritual disciplines and joys of worship, prayer, fasting, giving, Bible meditation and study, and obedience for the practice of spiritual warfare and for living an overcoming Christian life.

For the personal and social development of the student,

To encourage the student’s personal relationship with the Lord as the dynamic of all his relationships as he grows towards adult roles in marriage and the family, in the church, in the community, in the nation, and in the world. To give the student a vision for his unique purpose, for which he has been endowed with unique individuality made in the image of God, and to lead him to affirm and accept his peers and relations with the same value. To enable the student to pursue his God-given vocation and fulfill his Providential calling with passion and faithfulness. To inspire the student to set excellent standards for the development of his abilities, gifts, and talents, for accountability of personal resources of time, opportunities, health and energies, and for relationships. To inspire and equip the student to become a free and responsible Kingdom citizen who governs himself under God through the Holy Spirit within. To inspire the student to become a godly example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. Our teacher-mentors will lead by example, mentoring each student as they integrate wisdom, knowledge, responsibility, and service. To equip the student to share his faith effectively, to make a reasonable defense of the faith, and to inspire him to bring the light of the Gospel to all men everywhere. To introduce the student to foundational truths and evidences that clearly demonstrate the authority, authenticity, and accuracy of the Scriptures, particularly in light of religious, scientific, and cultural norms conflicting with the Biblical worldview. To raise a generation of defenders of the truth by equipping each student with careful study skills and habits of inquiry and research, patterns of Biblical reasoning, and methods of recording and presenting ideas and understanding. In addition, to encourage students to have real encounters with the living God so that they develop a lifetime of living testimonies of what God has done in their lives as they experience the love and the power of the living God. To give students the appreciation of all areas of knowledge as God-given and experiences in every academic discipline and the arts, so that they can identify their areas of strength and interest for future choices and positions. To cultivate a love for the truth and a love for learning so that each student becomes a self-motivated and self-taught lifelong learner. To build a sense of history and its providential links and purpose so that the student recognizes both his heritage and place in “Christ - His Story,” and is ready to take responsibility for his place in his generation; to recognize the importance of historical and cultural context, and to learn to interpret history and current events through a Biblical Providential perspective. To give students the technical and communication skills needed to prepare for further education and vocation choices.

Why and How to Honor our Mothers

QUESTION: WHY do we honor our mothers on Mother's Day?

I would love to hear your reasons why you honor your mother on this special day. If you would be so kind as to add a comment on this blog and share with others why YOU honor your mother on Mother's Day. If you do so, I believe we can all learn some new insights as to the many reasons to honor our mothers, not only on Mother's Day, but actually on every day of the year.

To get the ball rolling, I will share a few reasons that I honor my mother on Mother's Day.

Reason #1 - God commands us to honor our mothers and our fathers in the Ten Commandments found in the Bible in Exodus 20:12.

"HONOR your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the Lord YAHWAH your God gives you."

This fifth commandment given by God to the children of Israel and to all mankind is repeated in the New Covenant by the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 6:1-4.

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. HONOR your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth. And fathers, do not provoke your children to anger; but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."

So, there you have it. The first reason I honor my mother (and my father) is because God, my heavenly Father, thought it was so important for my life and the length of my days, that He actually commanded me to do so in his Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai. Obviously, God thinks it is "right" to honor our parents because He is the One who chose our parents for us, and by honoring our parents, we also indirectly honor God our heavenly Father.

Reason #2 - My mother gave me life and I exist because of her love and care. My mother endured 40 weeks of discomfort, inconvenience, and pain to give birth to me. In addition, she poured out her life for me every day for the first 18 years of my life, and she's never stopped giving love, support, encouragement, and comfort throughout my adult life. My mother chose to protect my life in her womb in contrast to millions of unborn babies whose lives are extinguished by their mothers every year. Thank you Mom for not aborting me and for protecting my right to life as a person created in the image of God.

QUESTION: HOW do we honor our mother's on Mother's Day?

Now, it's time to talk about HOW we honor our mothers on Mother's Day. I'm sure there are a million different ways to honor a mother, so I'd love to hear your personal story of how you honor your mother on this special day. Here are a few ways that I seek to honor my mother:

Way #1 - Since I don't live anywhere near my mother, I have to demonstrate my love and honor from a distance. The main way that I do this is to CALL HER on the telephone and express my love to her in words of affection and thanksgiving. I tell her I love her and how thankful I am for her, for her life, for her love, and for all that she's poured into my life over the years.

Way #2 - I make it a point to send her a special Mother's Day CARD with written words of love and affection, gratitude and appreciation. Sometimes I'll actually make her a card rather than buy one. Either way, she receives an expression of my honor and love in writing that she can read again and again throughout the year or put up on her dresser to see.

Answer all eight questions honestly, keeping in mind that all education is religious, in one way or another, either overtly or covertly, because all education conveys a specific worldview, and that worldview is either centered around and based on God - or on man.

Is the half-truth that it is "free," (which it is not), the main motivating factor that would cause you to give your precious children who are made in the image of God over to Caesar, to be indoctrinated by ungodly and irreligious humanist-trained government employees in a compulsory government monopoly public school...

…Where God is prohibited and where your child is taught that He does not exist,

…Where a spirit of anti-Christ rules, where a spirit of lawlessness is being taught and modeled, and where a lying deceiving spirit is given complete freedom to teach your child that he evolved from slime (evolution) and has no eternal significance,

…Where man and his reason are worshiped as “god” and where vain imaginations and human philosophies are raised up against the knowledge of God,

…Where the Great Deceiver is given complete legal freedom to indoctrinate your child in his ways, to deceive him, to destroy any Christian beliefs and values he might have, and to build an ungodly pagan humanistic worldview as a stronghold in your child’s mind and heart,

…Where your child will be so thoroughly influenced by these demonic spiritual forces that he will naturally become conformed to this world and its ways,

…And where your child’s mind will NOT be renewed by the Spirit of Christ and the truth of God’s Word, but rather, will become defiled and corrupted by the spirit of anti-Christ and the lies and deceptive words of that old Deluder, Satan.

As a Christian parent, you are faced with making the choice between “free” (though it is anything but free) pagan schooling and liberating godly Biblical education for your child.

If you choose the atheist, socialist, humanist schooling that the state offers, simply for the reason that it is “free,” then your choice will cost you dearly because it will lead to its intended purpose which is to conform your child to the world, and thereby transform him into a pagan product of the state.

If you choose the liberating, godly, Biblical education that God requires you to provide for your child and which will cost you to provide, then your choice will be wise because it will lead to its intended purpose which is to conform your child to the image of Jesus and the will of God, and thereby transform him into a godly disciple of Jesus and an ambassador of Christ and His Kingdom.

You must forever live with the choice that you make, and with the eternal consequences your choice will have on your children, your grandchildren, your great grandchildren, the Kingdom of God, and the world. I pray that you make the right choice, that you obey God and raise your child in the fear and admonition of the Lord, teaching him to obey all that Jesus has commanded us, and making it possible for him to love and to know God, which is eternal life. I pray that you will lead your child to eat from the Tree of Life, who is Jesus, and that you will not fall for the deceiver’s lies by leading your child to eat from the forbidden tree of the knowledge of good and evil, as our great grandmother, Eve, did so long ago. Choose this day for your children: I pray that you will choose life!

And here's the next logical question: What options do Christian parents have for providing their children with a liberating godly Biblical education?

1. Christian Homeschool – Parents teach their own children at home through the tutorial method using a Biblically-based Christ-centered curriculum. This approach is free, except for the cost of the curriculum and study materials, and presumes that at least one parent is willing to make themselves available to oversee the child’s education. In addition, parents can hire a private tutor to help in the more difficult subjects or can work with other homeschool parents in a homeschool “co-op” where other parents can provide teaching in subjects that one parent may not be knowledgeable in.

2. Christ-centered Biblically-based Christian School – Parents partner together with anointed godly teachers in educating their children in the Lord. Discernment must be used in choosing the right school because many “Christian” schools are based on the same foundations & philosophies as the pagan public schools, but with a Christian veneer and a few Bible verses thrown in. Parents must do their due diligence to ensure that the school truly is Christ-centered and Biblically-based, and that it is providing a truly Christian curriculum and truly anointed godly teachers. This option will cost you because it is truly a valuable investment in your child’s future and because it costs money to pay quality teachers to pour themselves into your child, to pay for school overhead, to provide a high quality Christian curriculum, and to create an excellent learning environment. Tuition is usually paid in ten monthly installments ranging from $200 to $400 per month.

3. A Hybrid Approach Combining Christian Homeschool and Christ-centered Biblically-based Christian School – Parents provide a portion of their child’s education, while partnering with anointed godly teachers to assist them in teaching their child subjects that they are not knowledgeable in. Normally, parents will provide 100% of the instruction while their child is 5-12 years old, but as the child grows, the parents transfer more and more instruction time to the Christian School teachers (or to private tutors). For example, the parents might send their child to the Christian school two or three days a week from ages 12-14, and then send them four or five days a week from ages 15-18. This approach starts out basically free, and as the child grows, the cost begins to increase as the child spends more and more time partnering with the Christian school.

Christian Biblical Worldview Education Mandate: Parents Educating Children God's Way

Our purpose is to strengthen Christian parents and families through the awareness of and obedience to the Christian Biblical Worldview Education Mandate. Our mission at Exodus Mandate is to inspire, motivate, educate, and equip Christian parents to obey God's Christian Biblical worldview education mandate by providing their children with a truly Christ-centered Biblically-based education, primarily through homeschooling or by partnering with a high quality godly Christian school.

This education mandate must become the priority of the church, and the first step is to call all Christian parents to remove their children from the government public school system which is ungodly, anti-Christian, and founded on the religion of secular humanism where man is exalted and worshipped and God is denied and opposed. The harsh truth about public schools is that they are corrupting and destroying Christian children morally, spiritually, and intellectually, and this leads to 88% of these children falling away from their faith and falling in love with the world and self. All Education Is Religious Whether It's Sunday School or Monday School

How many Christian parents and pastors would be appalled if the government marched into their churches and took complete control of all Sunday School programs of Christian education, including dictating what curriculum would be taught and who would be licensed by the state to teach Sunday School? How many would oppose such an encroachment by the federal or state government? How many would not put up with such a trampling of our religious and civil liberties and would actually do something to stop it? How many would stand up and say the government has no business at all interfering with churches and Sunday Schools? The answer, I'm guessing, is that many or most Christian parents and pastors would be appalled, would oppose such a move, would not put up with it, and would do all they could to stop it and boot the government from trying to control Sunday School, Sunday School curriculum, and Sunday School teaching and teachers.

Now, think about the logic of this type of government encroachment upon churches and their Sunday School programs. It goes against everything that the church in America stands for, especially the freedom of religion and religious expression. We simply would not stand for such a blatant encroachment by the federal or state governments into the church, into our religious lives, into our Sunday Schools, into our Christian education programs, into the indoctrination of our children by the government. And yet, we think it is perfectly fine for the government to indoctrinate our children with secular humanism, evolution, socialism, Marxism, Islam, homosexuality, statism, post-modernism, atheism, and a host of other ungodly and anti-Christian beliefs and behaviors during Monday School, and Tuesday School, etc. Why is that? Why is it not okay for the state to control our Sunday Schools, but it is okay for the government to control our Monday through Friday Schools? How does this make sense to anyone? The truth is: if it is wrong for the state to control our Sunday Schools, then it is equally wrong for the state to control Monday Schools too!

I'm calling out to all Christian parents, pastors, and leaders to somehow explain to me WHY 85% of Christian parents institutionalize their precious children (created in the image of God) and freely render them to Caesar, to the state, to indoctrinate their children five days a week, which adds up to over 16,000 seat hours in a 13 year time period. Jesus clearly said, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God the things that are God's." Are we not rendering our children to Caesar when we send them off every day for 13 years to be indoctrinated by the state into secular humanism and other forms of religion that are completely contrary to Christ, literally, are anti-Christ? Are we not guilty of "over rendering" and compartmentalizing our lives between the sacred and the secular?

Too many pastors and Christian parents believe the myth that we can separate religion from education and they are guilty of compartmentalizing their lives into the secular and into the religious. They think that they can teach religion at home and in Sunday School, but during the rest of the day and week it's okay for the government to teach their children all other subjects. This is a dangerous myth that must be exposed as a lie. The truth is that all education is inescapably religious because all education conveys a worldview that shapes and determines the character, life, beliefs, behavior, and future of children. The problem is not that state schools exist; the real problem is that Christian parents are using public schools to train their children, to "educate" their children, to disciple their children, to indoctrinate their children in humanism, atheism, evolution, post-modernism, moral relevance, new age eastern mysticism, etc. The vast majority of Christian parents and pastors are encouraging, participating in, and helping pass on to their children a worldview that is man-centered rather than God-centered. They have abdicated their responsibility to educate their children according to Christ and God's Word. They have simultaneously put their children in harm's way by voluntarily institutionalizing them in public schools which have effectively become "pagan seminaries" and "schools of humanism" that are nurturing their children in alien creeds and infusing them with false and destructive values that are killing our children spiritually, morally, and intellectually.

If you don't believe me, and if you don't believe that public schools are really all that bad for Christian children, then please listen to the words of those who designed the school system to achieve their goals. Charles F. Potter, Signer of the Humanist Manifesto, stated: "Education is thus a most powerful ally of humanism, and every public school is a school of humanism. What can the theistic Sunday School, meeting for an hour once a week, and teaching only a fraction of the children, do to stem the tide of a five-day program of humanistic teachings?" John D. Dunphy, from the Humanist magazine, declared: "I am convinced that the battle for humankind's future must be waged and won in the public school classroom by teachers that correctly perceive their role as proselytizers of a new faith....The classroom must and will become an arena of conflict between the old and new - the rotting corpse of Christianity...and the new faith of humanism." Joe R. Burnett, editor of the Humanist magazine, clarified: "Public education is the parochial education for scientific humanism."

In conclusion, there is a very obvious reason that the evangelical church is losing up to 88% of their children to the world within two years of graduating from public high school. There is a reason that the vast majority of Christian kids who go through 13+ years of government school indoctrination end up with a worldview that has been proven to be secular humanist and socialist/Marxist. If you care at all about your precious children that God has entrusted you with, then you must take them out of Pharoah's school system and set them free. You must join me and many other Christian parents in repenting for over-rendering our children to Caesar and start rendering them to God. To “repent” means to completely change your thinking about an issue, to change your mind, and to then change your direction. It's time to remove our children from the public schools and to truly and faithfully educate them God's way, according to Christ, according to the Word of God, according to the commandments of Jesus, and according to the fear of the Lord and the knowledge of the Holy. When Jesus commanded his disciples to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations, He meant for that discipleship and education to begin with their very own children and families, and then, from there, to disciple outwards towards the nations. Humanists and socialists and statists have always understood this principle and applied it, and that is why they are the ones in complete control of the education system in America and in most of the world. It's now time for Christians to take back control of educating their own children, either through homeschooling or through Christ-centered private schools.

This is not a call to try to reform the public school system. No! That is simply not possible and is unbiblical. Jesus warned us about false prophets and false teachers who would try to lead us astray. He didn't say to try to reform them and their schools, but rather to beware of them and stay clear of them. He told us not to follow blind teachers trying to lead the blind. He told us to examine the fruit of the tree, and if the fruit was bad, to recognize that the roots of the tree are bad, which causes the whole tree to be bad, and the only appropriate action was to cut down the whole tree and throw it into the fire (not to try to reform the tree). Study Matthew 7:13-18 and Matthew 15:13-14, where Jesus concludes: "Every plant that My heavenly Father did not plant shall be uprooted. Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit." Remember, God is committed to reforming and reviving only those institutions that He started such as the family, marriage, and the church. However, God never instituted state education or government schools; on the contrary, He warned us about them and how they would end up destroying our children, families, and lives.

Feast of Unleavened Bread Exposes the Leaven of Modern America that Is Destroying Our Children

This is the season of the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. I celebrated the Feast of Passover yesterday with my family and friends in order to remember and teach my children the truth of the great deliverance of the nation of Israel out of Egypt, the "house of bondage." Of course, inherent in the memorial celebration is the symbolism regarding the Lamb of God, Yahshua, who would one day come and lay his life down to set all mankind free from their bondage to sin, to the devil, and to the ungodly world system. With the coming of the Feast or "Appointed Time" of the Passover, the head of the house must cleanse his house of all leaven, which marks the beginning of the seven days of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Everyone in the house must eat only unleavened bread for seven days, and anyone found with leavened food in his house was to be cut off from the congregation of Israel.

Every family was required to put away all leaven, which meant that it was (and is today) a time of great cleansing, of separation from leavening influences in the lives of the family. Before we look at the spiritual symbolism, let's review the natural significance of leaven. Leaven, known today as yeast, is a small bit of sour dough, that when placed in a batch of dough, has the action of fermentation and puffing up with air (gas). Leaven works secretly, silently, and gradually, until it leavens the whole loaf, which is affected by its mysterious operation and fermentation. It causes the dough to rise. It's influence permeates the whole until all is leavened and becomes like itself. Thus, a "little leaven leavens the whole lump."

The New Testament clearly interprets the symbolism of leaven and explains why it must be put away. There are five references to different kinds of leaven found in the New Testament, each of which symbolizes something evil that has to be "put away." First, there's the leaven of Herod, which speaks of the spirit of worldliness. Jesus warned his disciples to beware of the leaven of Herod because he was controlled by the spirit of the world. Second, there's the leaven of the Sadducees, which was their unbiblical doctrine that did not believe in angels, spirits, the supernatural, or the resurrection. Modernism, with its doctrine of atheistic evolution, and post-moderism, with its rejection of all absolute truth and values, are today's counterpart of the leaven of the Sadducees. Third, Jesus warned his disciples of the leaven of the Pharisees, which He explained to be hypocrisy. They did not practice what they preached and they were "puffed up" with knowledge and tradition. Hypocrisy works like leaven in a person's life unless it is purged out and put away. Fourth, there's the leaven of Corinth, which was sensuality and fornication. There were other forms of leaven at work in the Corinthian church, all of which "puffed up" some of the people with pride. Paul also referred to the leaven of "malice and wickedness," which was old leaven that needed purging. And finally, there was the leaven of Galatia, which was clearly identified as religious legalism. There were some Judaizing teachers going around to all of the churches Paul had planted who were sowing the "leaven of legality," which was undermining the doctrine of grace Paul preached.

Paul interprets the New Testament teaching regarding leaven when he says, "Therefore, let us keep the Feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth." I Corinthians 5:8 The Feast must be kept in "sincerity," which is in purity (the opposite to the corrupting influences of impurity and hypocrisy), and in "truth," which is the opposite of deceit and lying. For Israel, keeping this Feast meant a complete separation from Egypt's gods, religion, bondage, food, works, slavery, wisdom, and might. For the believer today and in the New Testament times, keeping this Feast meant putting away all evil doctrine, all evil practices, all hypocrisy, all sensuality, all malice, and all wickedness. The "unleavened" life is the sanctified life, the separated to God life, which would not allow any secret or silent unseen influences (spiritual leaven) to corrupt the believer or his relationship to Jesus (Yahshua), the Passover Lamb of God, or to puff him up with pride. Remember, the key is that all leaven must be put away from our lives in order to be truly consecrated and set apart to the Lord who is our Passover.

This morning my wife pointed out that today one very significant application of this key relates to our children and their future. In America today, there is a leaven at work every day in the secret and hidden lives of our children. It works silently, practically unnoticed, and permeates every aspect of their lives with such a powerful influence that it will negatively affect, and in fact, eventually completely destroy, their lives, their future, and their children's lives and futures. Can you guess what it is?

Historically, the "principle of leaven" has been used politically, socially, educationally, and religiously in various forms of propaganda in all nations, permeating and influencing societies, cultures, and concepts either for good or for evil. We need to realize that all education is religious because all education conveys a specific worldview that influences and determines the student's life and future. "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he." Proverbs 23:7 This is why Christian parents are commanded to "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6

So, what is this leaven in American society that influences and forms the worldview of our precious children so that when they graduate from high school, the vast majority will walk away from God, their faith, and the church? What leaven could be that powerful, that permeating, that influential, that detrimental, that destructive, that corrupting, and that unchallenged by parents and the church? By now you've probably guessed it. If not, let me suggest to you that the most powerful and destructive "leaven" in the lives of our children is "the leaven of state education," or you could call it, "the leaven of the public school system." It is actually a combination of the leaven of Herod (a spirit of worldliness, wickedness), the leaven of the Sadducees (modernism, evolution, secular humanism, and post-modernism), the leaven of the Pharisees (hypocritical Christianity, greed, envy, and the love of money), and the leaven of Corinth (sensuality, fornication, sexual immorality, homosexuality, hedonism, lust, and the love of pleasure).

"Second Corinthians 6:14-18 states that Christians are not to be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. How can we fail to recognize that placing children under the control of a pagan institution for 35 to 40 hours a week is yoking our children unequally with unbelievers? Indeed, can there be a worse example of unequal yoking than the deliberate yoking of a child with a pagan educational institution?" - Dr. Bruce Shortt

In the words of humanist, John D. Dunphy, is a description of this modern leaven: "I am convinced that the battle for human kind's future must be waged and won in the public school classroom by teachers that correctly perceive their role as proselytizers of a new faith....The classroom must and will become an arena of conflict between the old and the new - the rotting corpse of Christianity...and the new faith of humanism." (from the Humanist magazine) And Joe R. Burnett, an editor for the Humanist magazine, stated: "Public education is the parochial education for scientific humanism."

"Ideas have consequences. What we believe determines how we live....The harsh truth is that public schooling is anti-Christ, literally, against Christ. Public schools substitute man for God in their explanations of all things....The secularism taught in public schools is diametrically opposed to Christianity. They are as different as night and day, and inflicting these lies on Christian children is a foolish thing....All schools are religious schools. All schools teach worldview....All schools are enculturation centers and none is neutral...All education is inescapably religious. The existence of non-Christian schools is not the problem; Christians using them to train their children is the issue. Christian children need Christian education" - Bradley Heath

In conclusion, let us remember that the end result of all education is a worldview and that worldview will be either man-centered (self-centered, eccentric = off centered) or God-centered (Christ-centric). As we remember, reflect, and memorialize the great Exodus and deliverance of the children of Israel from bondage in Egypt through the Feast of the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, let us also remember that this is a time for us to remove and put away all leaven from our lives, which means it is a time to separate ourselves from all the ungodly leavening influences of this world such as sin, worldliness, wickedness, malice, sensuality, sexual immorality, greed, the love of money, the love of pleasure, hypocrisy, and external legalistic religion.

At the same time, I believe God is calling all Christian parents to remove the leaven of state education from the lives of their children and all that comes with that leaven such as ungodliness, secular humanism, socialism, statism, self-centeredness, post-modernism, eastern mysticism, new age philosophy, sexual permissiveness and homosexuality, and a host of other anti-Christian and ungodly behaviors and beliefs. Many Christian parents think that they can send their kids off to the public school during the day, and then at night try to remove the leaven of the world that was put in them. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way and is impossible to do. Remember, leaven is something that works silently, secretly, hidden, gradually, and thoroughly until it leavens the whole lump. All the dough is affected by its mysterious operation and fermentation. Its influence permeates the whole until all is leavened and becomes like itself. Jesus explained this in relation to education when He stated: "A disciple is not above his teacher...Every disciple will become like his teacher, and the slave as his master." Matthew 10:24-25 If you don't believe me and you don't believe Jesus, then I challenge you to make a large bowl of dough, put in a small bit of sour dough (leaven), and then try to separate out the leaven the next day if you can. In the same way that it is foolish to try to separate out leaven from a lump after it has begun working, it is equally foolish to send your child to an irreligious humanist government school or teacher and then try to "un-indoctrinate" your child at the end of every day. It just won't work, and you'll lose your child in the process.

"In essence, we have abdicated our responsibility to educate our children. As a consequence, we have simultaneously put our children in harm's way and have failed to notice that the 'little red schoolhouse' has effectively become a pagan seminary nurturing our children in alien creeds and infusing them with false values. This, in turn, is transforming our families, our churches, our culture, and our society....The fact is that government schools are killing our children spiritually, morally, and intellectually." - Dr. Bruce Shortt "See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ." Colossians 2:8

Listen to the words of Jesus regarding this leaven: "This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far away from Me. But in vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men. Every plant which My heavenly Father did not plant shall be uprooted. Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit." Matthew 15:8-9, 13-14 "Enter by the narrow gate, for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter by it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those who find it. Beware of the false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits....A good tree cannot produce bad fruit; nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire." Matthew 7:13-19

It is time to cut down that bad tree called "public school" or government indoctrination that has been producing bad fruit for 170 years and destroying the lives of generation after generation of Christian children. Public schools have taken millions of Christian children (and their parents) captive through philosophy and empty deception (i.e. spiritual leaven), according to the tradition of men and the elementary human principles of the world, and these government school classroom teachers who function in the role as "proselytizers of a new faith" of humanism, have become blind guides to the blind. Forsake them, let them alone, because if a blind humanist teacher is allowed to guide your child, both will fall into a pit and your child will be led astray to destruction. It's time to choose the narrow gate of Christ-centered homeschooling or possibly partnering with a high-quality Christ-centered private school, because the broad way of public schooling leads to destruction and many are those who enter by it. Beware of those false prophets of the new faith of humanism who are disguised as benign public school teachers, but under their sheep's clothing they are ravenous wolves who will devour your child's faith in God, chew them up, spit them out, and conform them to themselves by turning them into cookie cutter secular humanists and socialists who will reject their parents, their church, their faith, and their God for the world. Now is the time to cut that deadly tree of bad fruit down and uproot it forever.

What Do I Stand For? Here I Stand - I Can Do No Other God Help Me

Too often I find myself projecting a negative message because of taking a stand against unrighteousness, foolishness, social evils, immorality, godlessness, etc. I'd like to counter this by declaring a very positive message of what I am "for" and what I'm willing to take a stand "for."

In today's world, I believe it is of utmost importance for Christians, for the true disciples and followers of Jesus, to take a stand for righteousness, to take a stand for godliness, to take a stand for truth and holiness. Yes, we will be attacked and persecuted for taking a stand for righteousness, but that has always been true, all the way back to the days of Abel, Enoch, and Noah. God encourages us that all who desire to live godly lives in this world will be persecuted. Jesus said that we are blessed when we are persecuted for the sake of righteousness. We must all take a stand for truth and righteousness, regardless of the cost.

On the other hand, there are millions of Christians (even pastors) who take no stand at all on many issues related to righteousness. The reason for this is either they are fearful of the backlash and persecution they will suffer for standing up and speaking the truth in love, or they are self-deceived and have already compromised with the world and they really do not stand for righteousness in their hearts or lives.

Let me also warn you that there are certain hot topics which will quickly bring on a fiery attack and persecution if you dare to speak out against them or for the righteousness that they seek to overthrow. These moral "hot buttons" include:

standing for the sanctity of marriage and against homosexuality, standing for homeschooling and educating your children God's way versus the godless public school system of humanistic indoctrination and the all-powerful socialist teachers unions that have destroyed education in America, standing for moral absolutes such as are revealed in the Ten Commandments versus the moral relativism of today, standing for the right to life for the unborn versus the murder of the unborn known as abortion, standing for sexual purity in a world obsessed with sexual immorality, standing for the freedom of religious expression and exercise in the public sector, standing for Constitutionally limited government versus a government out of control spending us into terrible debt and encroaching on every aspect of our lives and on the sovereignty of each state to govern its own affairs without interference from the feds, taking a stand for personal property that is not subject to being taxed by the government and for personal income that is not subject to being forcibly redistributed to those who refuse to work & live off of socialist entitlements, standing for the preservation, protection, and priority of our providential history and purpose that is based on our Judeo-Christian values, worldview, principles, and beliefs versus being overrun by Muslim fundamentalism and Sharia law, etc.

Therefore, I declare here and now, publically, what I stand for:

I am for God, for His glory, for His Kingdom, for His Son, and for His righteousness.

I am for God’s Law, higher law, natural law, the rule of law.
I am for the Ten Commandments and the commandments of Jesus Christ.

I am for the Bible and Judeo-Christian beliefs, values, and kingdom principles.

I am for personal responsibility and accountability to God.

I am for homeschooling and Biblical Christ-centered education and discipleship.

I am for the separation of school and state (for government to get out of education).

I am for parents taking responsibility to educate their children God’s way for Him.

I am for parental freedom to educate our children as we choose.

I am for self-government and moral virtue in private and in public.

I am for the sanctity of marriage as God designed it between a man and a woman.

I am for the sanctity of life, including the right to life for the unborn and for the elderly.

I am for honoring our fathers and mothers and I am for honoring the elderly.

I am for constitutionally limited small government as set up by the Founding Fathers.

I am for freedom and the protecting of our God-given rights and liberties.

I am for self-reliance, independence, initiative, industry, and free enterprise.

I am for the right for citizens to keep and bear arms according to the 2nd amendment.

I am for the right to life, liberty, and personal property.

I am for voluntary charity (not socialist redistribution of wealth & state welfare).

I am for a republican form of true representative government (not a democracy).

I am for re-affirming and re-establishing America’s godly Christian heritage.

I am for the free exercise of religion in private and public sectors.

I am for accountability in all levels of government; accountability to the people.

I am for eliminating all income taxes on citizens and for eliminating property taxes.

I am for requiring all government to balance the budget, avoid debt, & limit spending.

A word of warning: of all the hot button issues I've mentioned above, the three that will react with the most hostility and viciously attack you with everything in their arsenal (media, politicians, unions, ACLU lawsuits, political laws, slander) are these:

1. The Gay & Lesbian Homosexual Agenda
2. Islam, Sharia Law, Muslim Fundamentalism, and Islamic Terrorism
3. The Public School system in America & the Socialist Teachers Unions that Control It

The Value and Priority of Christian Education for Our Children

American schools are the best funded in the world, yet out of 41 nations, American students consistently rank near or at the bottom in mathematics, physics, and science. Despite their failing, more than 80% of evangelical Christians place their children in government (public) schools, exposing them to moral, academic, and physical danger on a daily basis.

"To commit our children to the care of irreligious people is to commit lambs to the superintendency of wolves." - T. Dwight, Yale University President 1795-1817

I grew up on the mission field and spent 11 years in Afghanistan and four years in Iran. I observed that one of the first things missionaries abroad do is to start Christian schools to educate the local people and teach and disciple them in the truth and principles of God's Word. Yet, when I came back to America, I was shocked to discover that most Christian parents allow their children to be indoctrinated by the government schools' secular humanist and new age socialist agenda. This makes absolutely no sense to me and is completely contrary to the mandate of Scripture regarding the education of our children. I can't understand why American Christian missionaries value the education and discipleship of their converts overseas, but back at home, Christian parents demonstrate a serious lack of value and priority for the education and discipleship of their own children in a Biblical worldview and Christ-centered educational environment.

According to the Scriptures, according to our Lord and Master Teacher, Jesus Christ, and according to the prophets and the apostles of the Bible, education belongs to the family first, with assistance from the church. However, in America today the government has been permitted to usurp this vital role. Christian parents have abdicated their parental responsibility, authority, and duty, and given over their children to the world to be indoctrinated in creeds that are anti-Christian and hostile to their faith and to be brainwashed in moral relativism and humanistic socialism. Christian children who now graduate from public high schools are being surveyed regarding their worldview, and the evidence is showing that the vast majority of these "Christian" children are demonstrating that they have a secular humanist or socialist/Marxist worldview, rather than a truly Biblical worldview. The great Reformation leader, Martin Luther, warned Christian parents about this grave danger:

"I am much afraid that schools will prove to be great gates of hell, unless they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures, engraving them in the hearts of youth. I advise no one to place his child where the Scriptures do not reign paramount. Every institution in which men are not increasingly occupied with the Word of God must become corrupt."

Warning: Government schools are dangerous to the well being of your children!

The Biblical instruction of our children may be the thrust that God could use to restore American society and revive the nation. A fresh obedience by the Church to its God-ordained role in education, may be the catalyst for a third great awakening. I plead with you, dear Christian parent, to remove your children from the public school system and enter the promised land of home schooling or Christ-centered day schools in obedience to God and for the sake of your children who belong to God. Please, render to God the things that belong to God; render to God your precious children who deserve and require a truly Christian education.

American Family Association Doesn't Go Far Enough on Calling Christian Parents to Remove Their Children from Public School Indoctrination

Dear American Family Association,

Thank you for this suggestion to pull our children out of public schools on April 15 because of the Gay and Lesbian "Day of Silence" propaganda. However, I don't believe you are going far enough or taking enough of a stand for righteousness.

Given that the public schools are the platform in this country for government indoctrination in homosexuality, immorality, moral relativism, secular humanism, new age mysticism, the lie of evolution and atheistic Darwinism, socialism, etc...why aren't you encouraging Christian parents to remove their children from public schools completely and altogether, once and for all? Why won't you stand up for righteousness, for truth, for the Christian family, for Christian morality, and advise and encourage your followers to do the same and to take the necessary steps to remove their children from government schools?

The evidence is clear and abundant: public schools are killing our children morally, spiritually, and intellectually. Read Dr. Bruce Shortt's book on the subject. Watch the IndoctriNation movie by Colin Gunn & Juaquin Fernandez. Look at the statistics of the SBC.

The facts are: we are losing 88% of our evangelical Christian kids to the world within two years of graduating from public school. The truth is that we are losing them a lot earlier than that, and the reason we're losing them and the place we're losing them, is in education, is in the public schools that are leading them astray. They are being indoctrinated in creeds that are anti-Christian and in behaviors that are immoral and destructive. The schools are converting our Christian kids into pagans, while most of the Christian kids in these schools are not converting the pagans into Christians.

Please, please stand up for our kids, stand up for the Christian family, stand up for Christian education, stand up for righteousness, stand up for God's absolute truth.

I appreciate the work that AFA is doing in many areas, but I am very disappointed and saddened by the fact that they don't go far enough on this issue by not calling Christian parents to withdraw their children completely from such an ungodly and anti-Christian institution.

April 7, 2011 If your child's school allows 'Day of Silence' propaganda, keep your child at home April 15. Let your school officials know that if they are going to allow social and political action in class, your child will not be there.

The Day of Silence, which is sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), fast approaches. This year it will take place in most public schools on April 15. On this day, thousands of public high schools and increasing numbers of middle schools will allow students to remain silent throughout an entire day-even during instructional time-to promote GLSEN's socio-political goals and its controversial, unproven, and destructive theories on the nature and morality of homosexuality.

Parents must actively oppose this hijacking of the classroom for political purposes. Please join the national effort to restore to public education a proper understanding of the role of government-subsidized schools. You can help de-politicize the learning environment by calling your child out of school if your child's school allows students to remain silent during instructional time on the Day of Silence.

Parents should no longer passively countenance the political usurpation of public school classrooms through student silence. If students will be permitted to remain silent, parents can express their opposition most effectively by calling their children out of school on the Day of Silence and sending letters of explanation to their administrators, their children's teachers, and all school board members. One reason this is effective is that most school districts lose money for each student absence.

School administrators err when they allow the classroom to be disrupted and politicized by granting students permission to remain silent throughout an entire day.

Technically, it is students, often students in the gay-straight alliance, who sponsor it. Many administrators will tell you that they do not sponsor the DOS when, in fact, they do permit students and sometimes even teachers to remain silent during instructional time. 2. Find out what date the event is planned for your school. (The national date in 2011 is April 15, but some schools observe DOS on a different date).

Educating Kids God's Way with the Fear of the Lord Vs Foolishness of Public School Indoctrination

When one seeks to learn what God says in the Bible about wisdom, understanding and discernment, he usually begins in the book of Proverbs. When we, as Christian parents, want to ask God for his wisdom regarding educating children God's way, we need to begin in the book of Proverbs as well.

The book of wisdom begins as follows:

"The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel: to know wisdom and instruction, to discern the sayings of understanding, to receive instruction in wise behavior, righteousness, justice, and equity; to give prudence to the naive, to the youth knowledge and discretion, a wise man will hear and increase in learning, and a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel." 1:1-5

Now, ask yourself these two questions:
For what purpose do I want to educate my children? And, what is the goal behind sending my children off to the public school for thirteen years?

Can you honestly answer, as Solomon answered above, that the purpose you send your children off to a government school to be "educated" is so that they will know wisdom and instruction, discernment and understanding, to receive instruction in wise behavior, righteousness, justice, and equity; to give your children prudence, knowledge, and discretion, and to make your children increase in learning and wise counsel? Before God, what is your real motive for institutionalizing your child?

Question: Is the government school system, which rejects the existence of God, which kicked God out of school 50 years ago, which threw out the Bible and the Ten Commandments, which forbids prayer to God, and which undermines your authority and the authority of God's Word on a daily basis - able to accomplish the goals of a truly godly and Biblical education that king Solomon describes above and that you desire for your child to receive in their education? No, it is impossible for an ungodly, anti-Christian, heathen, atheistic, humanistic, worldly school system to achieve the goals that Solomon declared and that Christian parents desire for their children. It is absolutely not possible. Those who think that public schools can achieve these results are deceived by the state or are self-deluded.

Next Question: How can Christian parents achieve the goals of true godly education that King Solomon describes?

The answer is found in Proverbs 1:7 and 9:10 which state:

"The FEAR OF THE LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction."

"The FEAR OF THE LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."

The KEY to a truly Biblical and godly education that leads to wisdom and knowledge is to begin with the right foundation: the FEAR OF THE LORD and the KNOWLEDGE OF THE HOLY ONE.

Question: Do government schools begin on this foundation?

Answer: No! There is no fear of the Lord or respect for God there. Do they pretend to? No! In fact, they vehemently state and demonstrate by their silence that God is not significant enough to even mention His Name or His being throughout the whole school year. In addition, they threaten to fire any teacher who dares to mention God or His Son or who dares to even quote from the Bible. How do I know this? I know this from personal experience, because when I was teaching in these government schools, I was threatened for doing just that and I lost my job at several public schools.

Question: Why do 85% of Christian parents hand over their kids to a godless, worldly, anti-Christian government institution day after day and year after year - to indoctrinate their children in creeds that are anti-Christian and completely opposite to the truth and wisdom of God and to indoctrinate them in moral relativism that teaches their kids that there are no moral absolutes and that teaches behaviors that are destructive and corrupt Christ-like character? Why do the vast majority of Christian parents subject their children to pagan public school indoctrination, all the while expecting them not to come home as ungodly pagans conformed to the world?

Answer: Because they are either ignorant of what God requires in His Word regarding the education of their children, or they are willfully disobedient to God's expressed will that Christian parents are responsible to provide their children with a truly Christ-centered education. Why is that? Some of the reasons include parents that have completely wrong priorities, wrong values, selfishness, greed, compromise with the world, and slothfulness. The sin of slothfulness is doing the easy thing, the comfortable thing, the convenient thing - rather than the right thing, the godly thing, the righteous thing.

Here's what King Solomon said would happen to those who refused to educate their children God's way and abdicated their responsibility and allowed the state to usurp that authority and duty:

"Wisdom shouts in the street...she utters her sayings: 'How long, O naive ones, will you love simplicity? And scoffers delight themselves in scoffing, and fools hate knowledge? Turn to my reproof, behold, I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you'.

"Because I called, and you refused...and no one paid attention; and you neglected all my counsel, and did not want my reproof; I will even laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your dread comes...like a storm, and your calamity comes on like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come on you.

"Then you will call on me, and I will not answer; they will seek me diligently, but they shall not find me,
BECAUSE they hated knowledge,
and DID NOT CHOOSE THE FEAR OF THE LORD.

"They would not accept my counsel, they spurned all my reproof.
So they shall eat of the fruit of their own way, and be satisfied with their own devices. For the waywardness of the naive shall kill them, and the complacency of fools shall destroy them. But he who listens to me shall live securely, and shall be at ease from the dread of evil." Proverbs 1:20-33

This is a prophetic description of America's public school system today! All the darkness, evil, wrong, violence, immorality, illiteracy, poverty, dependence, and rebellion that we see in today's public school system is described right here by King Solomon 3,000 years ago. These are all the results of a nation that has turned its back on God and has expelled God from public education.

Dread has come upon our children and schools. Calamity has fallen on the schools. Distress and anguish are now a daily reality in public schools. The waywardness of the naive is killing our children morally, spiritually, and intellectually, and sometimes, even physically. The complacency of fools is now destroying our children in public schools.

Question: What is the reason for all of this distress, calamity, anguish, dread, destruction, killing, corruption, and death?

Answer: "BECAUSE THEY HATED KNOWLEDGE AND DID NOT CHOOSE THE FEAR OF THE LORD." Because they did not accept God's counsel and spurned His reproof. Therefore, they are now reaping what they sowed and eating of the fruit of their own humanistic and godless ways.

Question: What can Christian parents do today to save their children from such a horrible and destructive life and future?

*****Answer:***** Proverbs 2:1-12 gives the answer from God's mouth through King Solomon. If we take it to heart, remove our children from this godless system, repent, and take responsibility for educating our children God's way - either through home schooling or through Christian schools - then we can reclaim our children and put them into God's hands to save them, preserve them, and give them a future... BUT, we cannot expect God to save our children if we raise them contrary to His ways and allow the world to disciple them in moral relativism, spiritual relativism, multi-culturalism, and all kinds of dogmas and philosophies that are opposite of God's ways. That is the way of foolishness and unrighteousness and it leads to death and judgment. Christian parents must remove their children from public schools, once and for all, and never go back to the world and its ungodly ways to train their children. Proverbs 2:1-12 clearly teaches:

"My son, if you will receive my sayings, and treasure my commandments within you, make your ear attentive to wisdom, incline your heart to understanding; for if you cry out for discernment, lift up your voice for understanding; if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures;

"THEN you will discern THE FEAR OF THE LORD, and discover the KNOWLEDGE OF GOD. For it is the LORD who gives wisdom; it is from His mouth that come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice, and He preserves the way of His godly ones.

"THEN you will discern righteousness and justice and equity and every good course. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul; discretion will guard you, understanding will watch over you, to deliver you from the way of evil..."

It's time to do the right thing, the righteous thing, and to start educating our children for God, in God's prescribed manner, according to His Word, His commandments, and His instructions.

Southern Baptist Battle over Christian Parents Educating Children God's Way and Removing them from Public School Indoctrination

A battle is raging in the Southern Baptist Convention regarding Christian education. The heroic and bold leaders of this Pinckney-Shortt Christian Education Resolution are calling for all Baptists to remove their Christian children from the anti-Christian, ungodly, humanist, spiritually and morally corrupt government indoctrination camps known as public schools. It's time to remove Christian children from public schools and educate them God's way, according to Christ, according to the Word of God, according to the truths and principles of the Kingdom of God!

Government schools are hazardous to children, and especially to Christian children. Christian parents need to wake up and see public schools for what they really are, not for what they claim to be or for what they once were. The truth is: government schools are unreformable. Christian parents and church leaders must understand why government schools cannot and should not be expected to provide the Christian education that the Bible enjoins Christian parents to provide their children.

The courageous leaders and pioneers of this resolution are T.C. Pinckney and Bruce Shortt, and they are strongly supported by other key leaders such as E. Ray Moore and Roger Moran.

Southern Baptist Battle for Christian Education Moves to the States

Pinckney-Shortt Christian Education Resolution Inspires Resolutions in at Least 10 Conventions Covering 15 States

ALEXANDRIA, VA. - When T.C. Pinckney, retired brigadier general and prominent Southern Baptist leader, and Bruce N. Shortt, a Houston, TX attorney and home school father of three children, first joined forces to ask the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) to consider a resolution urging Southern Baptist parents to pull their children out of public schools and provide them with a Christian Education, they didn't foresee that their effort would inspire Baptist leaders in at least 10 conventions to introduce similar resolutions in the SBC's state and regional conventions this October and November.

The sponsors of the state Christian education resolutions see a pressing need for continuing the debate over Christian education that was begun by the Pinckney-Shortt resolution.

Roger Moran, a prominent Southern Baptist leader from Missouri and member of the SBC executive committee, calls for bold Christian leadership in education:

"One of the great tragedies of American Christianity has been the near universal failure of its leaders to boldly proclaim the inherent dangers lurking within America's government owned and controlled schools. As the educational philosophy of public schools increasingly mirrors the anti-Christian philosophy of our activist judges the time has come to proclaim with absolute clarity that "render unto Caesar" was never intended to include the hearts and minds of our children."

Pastor Larry Reagan, a leader in Christian education and the editor of the Concerned Tennessee Baptists' newsletter, also puts it bluntly:

"Increasingly pastors are concluding that the profound decline in standards in the public schools make them unfit places for Christian children. This is becoming a very hot issue among Baptists and other evangelical Christians. As pastors we need to step up to the challenge by making sure Christian Children receive a Christian education 24/7."

According to Wiley Drake, a well-known Southern California Baptist pastor and broadcaster:

"As Christians, we must rescue our children from public schools. They are being coerced and persecuted there. Frankly, speaking as a pastor who has observed the deterioration of public schools for many years, I would say that Christian parents who are putting their children in public schools today are endangering their children spiritually, emotionally, physically, and educationally. This debate is important because parents need to know how toxic public schools have become."

Like the Pinckney-Shortt resolution, the state Christian education resolutions typically cite multiple powerful reasons for the need to remove Southern Baptist children from public schools. Those reasons include such considerations as research results showing the negative effects of public schooling on the attitudes and beliefs of Christian children, the 2002 finding by the Southern Baptist Council on Family Life that 88 percent of the children raised in evangelical homes leave church after the age of 18, and the fact that nearly 3,000 public middle and high schools have homosexual clubs and public schools are rapidly adopting curricula and policies teaching that the homosexual lifestyle is acceptable.

The SBC state conventions have their meetings in late October and early November, and the sponsors of the state Christian education resolutions plan to have their resolutions debated at their state conventions.

The original Pinckney-Shortt resolution garnered significant national media attention, including articles in the Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, The Washington Times and the Boston Globe, among many others.

Cal Thomas described the original Pinckney-Shortt resolution in a June 14, 2004, Op-Ed as "…what could be the most radical and most successful education reform proposal ever made."

Columnist Jeff Jacoby wrote May 9, 2004 in the Boston Globe, "I'm not a Southern Baptist or even a Christian - I'm a religious Jew - but I vote with Pinckney and Shortt. Parents who take their faith seriously ought to think twice before putting their kids' education in the hands of the state. If war is too important to be left to the generals, the shaping of children's minds and values is surely too important to be left to government educators."

The Pinckney-Shortt Christian Education Resolution also received powerful endorsements from the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA), the premier home school organization in the USA, and from Joel Belz, publisher and founder of WORLD Magazine, the largest evangelical news magazine in the USA.

Joel Belz stated in his June 5, 2004 WORLD Magazine editorial, "I speak fairly often around the country on behalf of Christian schools and homeschool groups. Wherever I go, I try to make just two points: Pick a school that tells the truth. And pick a school that works. It's a sad conclusion to draw, but more and more obvious, that public, state-sponsored education increasingly flunks both those simple tests. It lies to or at least misleads our children about the most important issues of life. And increasingly, it fails to prepare our children for the marketplace in which they are called on to work."

This is further confirmation that one of the most important objectives of public schools is to UNDERMINE PARENTS AND USURP THEIR AUTHORITY in the lives of their children. The socialist "progressives" in control of government schools want to take the place of parents and indoctrinate what they consider "the state's children" in their socialist, statist, humanist ideology - which is really the state cramming their state religion down the throats of your children.

Listen up: When you send your Christian children off to be indoctrinated by the government and institutionalized by atheists and humanists,

you are giving them power, authority, complete influence, and permission to turn your own kids against you and against everything you believe and stand for, including, and especially, your Christian beliefs and Judeo-Christian values and morals.

Did you know that when you drop off your innocent children on the doorstep of your local public school, you actually are abandoning your parental authority over your children and you are giving that authority for the rest of the day to the government employees who will indoctrinate your kids? You can no longer object to what the state is teaching your kids during the day. You can no longer say, "I don't want my kid sitting in that assembly where they will be teaching homosexuality is normal."

This issue has been settled already in the courts and the verdict is in: when you leave your child at the government school, you have abandoned all of your parental rights over that child for the day and given that authority to the state to do whatever it thinks is in the best interest of that child (i.e. turn them into good little dumbed down socialist citizens who think like the world and agree with the government and make no waves).

Why in the world would you do such a foolish and destructive thing to your children?

If you do this, why are you surprised when your kids eventually lose all respect for you, challenge your authority and influence in their lives, and walk away from the Christian faith and God and church and the Bible?

Your action of institutionalizing your children in these government indoctrination centers called "public schools" is what caused them to eventually lose their faith, their character, their morals, their belief in God and moral absolutes, and to totally conform them to the world, rather than conforming them to Christ.

Do you really expect to hear the Lord say on the Judgment Day:

"Well done, good and faithful servant and parent?"

No! The truth will be exposed on that day, and your actions of condemning your children to a humanist and atheist based indoctrination camp will testify against you and you will be held accountable to God for what you did.

However, please know that it is never too late to truly repent to God and to your kids for what you have done, turn from your sin, remove them from this ungodly system, and start educating them according to God's way, according to the Bible, according to Christ as He mandates for all Christian parents to do. Repent now and turn away from public schools and DO THE RIGHT THING with your kids and for your kids. Your kids belong to God, and He will hold you accountable for how you raised them and how you educated them...

Educating Christian Children God's Way vs Public School Indoctrination

It's time to call all Christian parents to remove God's children from the anti-Christian, ungodly, secular humanist government indoctrination camps called "public schools."

"And do NOT be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind..." Romans 12:2

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6

"See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of man, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to CHRIST." Colossians 2:8

It's time to DO THE RIGHT THING!

Christian parents must repent for the sin of SLOTHFULNESS,
which is choosing to do the easy thing, the comfortable thing,
the convenient thing, rather than choosing to do the right thing.

Institutionalizing Christian children in atheistic and humanistic anti-Christian government indoctrination public schools is doing the easy thing, and is therefore the sin of slothfulness.

This sin of slothfulness is causing millions of Christian children to stumble and fall away from the faith, and the Lord will hold all such Christian parents accountable on a future day of judgment. At that time, there will be no place for excuses such as "I didn't know," or "I didn't realize how bad it was," or "I was too busy to notice," or "I couldn't afford to do anything else," etc.

Jesus warned us in the Gospels that the worst thing anyone on this earth can be is a stumbling block to children. In fact, in Matthew 18:6, Jesus said that it would be better for such a person to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the sea, than to cause one of His little ones who believe in Him to stumble. Woe to Christian parents who become stumbling blocks to their children by institutionalizing them in a humanist worldly ungodly school system that will destroy their children spiritually, morally, and intellectually.

Let him who has ears to hear, hear what the Spirit is saying to the church and especially to Christian parents.

If you are guilty, remember, it's not too late to repent, turn from your worldly ways, deliver your children from this ungodly system, and set them on the path of righteousness. I beg you, do the right thing. Do the righteous thing. Do the God required thing - for the sake of your children and grandchildren. God expects it, requires it, and is waiting for your obedience.

Choose life, choose righteousness, choose God's way...DO THE RIGHT THING!

The Harsh Truth About Public Schools & Christian Parents Educating Children God's Way

SHOCKING FACT: 88% of evangelical Christian children are leaving the church and walking away from the faith within two years of graduating from public schools.

WHY? The reason for this is that 85-90% of Christian parents in America have given their children over to Caesar to be indoctrinated by a secular humanist, socialist, anti-Christian worldview "public school" system that is completely contrary to everything that the Bible stands for, to what Christian parents say they believe, and to the values, moral absolutes, ethics, and principles Jesus Christ and of the biblical Judeo-Christian worldview.

The vast majority of Christian children in America are not being educated according to Christ and his commandments, are not being discipled in the truth God has revealed in His Word, and are not being taught and mentored by their parents (or even by godly Christian teachers) according to the Biblical Educational Mandate as found in Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Matthew 28:18-20, and Ephesians 6:4.

Please take a few minutes and watch this YouTube video that was recorded at a Southern Baptist Convention a few years ago. The second person at the microphone is Roger Moran from Missouri, and the third person with the yellow tie is Bruce Shortt of Texas.

The topic is the "culture war" going on all around us between the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness, between righteousness and wickedness, between Christ and the false gods of statism, secular humanism, and socialism.

Roger Moran makes a good point when he says, "At what point are Southern Baptists going to rise up and say, 'Enough is enough!'?"

Bruce Stortt makes an excellent point when he says that the Southern Baptists want to "engage the culture," but what that really means is "an abject surrender to the culture!" He strongly disagreed with the leader of the convention who urged Christian parents not to remove Christian children from the public schools because that would mean removing a "Christian witness" from the schools.

However, the fact is that Christian children are being converted to the world in public schools rather than converting the world to Christ. The harsh truth is that we're losing almost 90% of these Christian children to the world and their salt is being neutralized and their light is being extinguished! Jesus told his mature, adult, trained disciples to be salt and light in a heathen society, not children. Nowhere in Scripture are children missionaries. For decades now, many Christians have believed in the "salt and light" rationalization, but what do we have to show for it? The shocking truth is that Christian children in public schools are not converting the heathen, but rather, the heathen are converting our Christian children.

Shortt points out that in the California public school system, all children, including kindergarteners, are being INDOCTRINATED to believe that homosexual, bi-sexual, and other sexually deviant lifestyles are moral, normal, and acceptable. Homosexuality is actively being mainstreamed in all government schools, starting from age five, and there are now over 3,000 school districts that have homosexual clubs in middle schools and high schools.

In his book, Dr. Shortt states:

"Contrary to what many Christians have been led to believe, there is no such thing as a 'neutral' education," Shortt writes. "All education is religious and conveys a worldview, and there is no more important decision that we make as parents than how we educate our children."

"Unfortunately, Christian parents allow an aggressively anti-Christian institution to form the minds of their children, and the fruit of that choice is bitter. The overwhelming majority of children from evangelical families leave the church within two years after they graduate from high school; only 9 percent of evangelical teens believe that there is any such thing as absolute moral truth; and, our children are being forcibly indoctrinated to believe that homosexual behavior is acceptable."

Removing Christians from Public Schools Will Save Our Children & Win the Culture War

Jesus Christ taught that we are to "render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to GOD the things that are God's,"

but today 90% of Christian parents are rendering to Caesar (the state) the things that belong to God, which include our precious children, the most treasured gifts that God has entrusted to our stewardship and discipleship!

Shockingly, 90% of Christian children are sent into the government's indoctrination camps called public schools by their Christian parents.

Tragically, as a direct result of these Christian parents neglecting and disobeying God's clear Biblical Education Mandate to give their children a thoroughly Christian education, to disciple them according to Christ, rather than conforming them to the world, we are losing 85% of Christian children to the world. Within two years of graduating from high school, 85% of these children will walk away from God, from their faith, and from the church.

The Bible teaches that Christian parents have the God-given authority, duty, and responsibility to govern the education of their children and to make sure to give them a thoroughly Christ-centered Biblical worldview godly education. Christian Parents Called to Educate their Children According to Christ, Not the World

"See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to CHRIST." - Col 2:8

It is shocking to me that 85% of Christian children in America are taken captive every day for 7 hours by a state controlled public school system that is diametrically opposed to everything that their parents believe in and that is designed to corrupt and destroy their children's faith, morals, and intellect.

Every day millions of Christian parents send their precious children off to be indoctrinated by a religious system of humanism, new age mysticism, and secularism, all of which are completely contrary to the teachings of Christ. The public schools have taken our children "captive" through worldly philosophies, empty deception, ungodly principles, and according to the fallen tradition of men.

Who is responsible for this tragedy that has destructive eternal consequences on their souls and minds and bodies?

We, Christian parents, are responsible before God for this terrible tragedy, because we have not obeyed God's command to disciple and teach our own children and raise them in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, according to Christ. Instead, we have abdicated our parental responsibility by giving our children over to the great usurper, the State, to rob our children of their faith and endanger their souls, minds, and bodies.

For all of this we must repent to God and to our children, turn from our willful and selfish and negligent ways, remove our precious offspring from these godless prisons of indoctrination, and take responsibility to educate them according to Christ, in God's way. If we don't, we will forever lose this generation of children, as well as future generations.
