This year, the thawing of the world seems particularly nice, yes? We recently recorded some great videos for FOLKED UP! (in Terre Haute!), a series of local musicians doing take-away music videos. In addition to getting two great videos by Yearbook Committee, "We've Got a History of Ruining Things" and "That's Alright," Jet and Danielle Kaiser recorded a super cool take of my song "Providence" in the Sisters of Providence Convent Cemetery. In the press and other tidbits

First of all, there have been some great snippets in the press about Sudden Amaryllis, like this article by Mark Stalcup in the January/February Terre Haute Living. You can read the publication here.

Secondly, my album art was included on the Bandcamp blog a month or so ago, which is great! First row, second from the left.

Also, if you haven't already checked out Cuba's new album The Contrast, which was released on New Year's Eve, do it now! I play a small part on the song "Steelworker's Wife," but the whole album's worth a listen. Visit www.cubatheband.com to learn more.

Other than that, I've been practicing accordion, playing with Yearbook Committee, and writing new songs! Hope everyone's winter so far is creative, refreshing, and full of warm blankets.

I love surrounding myself with creative people, so photographer Samantha McGranahan and her Roxy Studio make me happy. (Back in August, Samantha took some great promo pics for me, which you can see in my picture gallery, in my site header and on the album art for Sudden Amaryllis.)

The studio's recently-launched site, TheRoxyGirls.com, features their awesome boudoir and pin-up photography with my song "Sweater" as back-up. Check it out!

Sudden Amaryllis October 17th!

Sudden Amaryllis, Christina's first full-length CD, will be released on Oct. 17th, 2009 with a free show at Oakley Auditorium at Ivy Tech, Terre Haute, Indiana. Yearbook Committee 73 will be opening. (It will be rather awesome.)

Recorded, produced and mastered by Don Arney of Quantum Music Production, the album features 14 original songs ranging from sparse acoustic folk to subtly soulful piano to swirling world anthems rich with voices. The songs feature a core band of David Goodier, Travis Dillon and Eric Rasley with contributions by Jon DaCosta, Holly Granzow, Samantha Harding, Shannon Hayden, Malik Lahlou, Ryan Lammey, John Murray, Jim Rasley and Dana Williamson.

Lyrical and thoughtful, it's a quiet little album that gets loud sometimes. We hope you like it.
