Since nobody seems to know it, and its not very easy to find, I thought i mention it here. scm is simply the best version control frontend ever. It supports all kinds of version control, and it has a simple gui that doesnt get into your way. Highly recommended!

Next ruby stammtisch with a secret special event

Like I already mentioned the next vienna ruby stammtisch is on Feb 28. at 20:00 as always in the little stage. What I didnt mention before is that we have a secret special event this time, and it happens right before the stammtisch at 18:00 in the metalab (Rathausstrasse 6 1010 Wien). So see you all at 18:00 in the metalab or at 20:00 at littlestage. Since we dont know exactly how long our secret event is going to take, its possible that we wont make it at 20:00. So if you dont see ruby geeks when you arrive, just ask for the “ruby-stammtisch” and wait a little.

new theme

Yesterday i created this new blog theme together with daniel . The html and javascript is basically scribbish, but we recreated the css from scratch. Its cool to name themes after smart people, so this theme is called “Von Förster”. Hope you like it.

Yesterdays ruby stammtisch was fun and it was also very interesting to meet a lot of austrian ruby people and talk about everything but ruby.

Yesterdays ruby stammtisch was fun and it was also very interesting to meet a lot of austrian ruby people and talk about everything but ruby. Paresew told us why instiki 0.12 is going to be great, Clemens has a cool geotagging app up his sleeve, and had a very strong opinion on long build times and non existing test coverage in the gaming industry while thomas found degrading javascript and legacy browser support overrated and boring.

We drank huge amounts of beer, and it seems everybody enjoyed it so we decided to make a stammtisch once a month, always on the last Wednesday of each month. So the next installment will be on February 28. So mark your calendars, and dont miss the ruby event of february.

Am Mittwoch den 31.1 werden wir im Little Stage den ersten wiener ruby stammtisch veranstalten. Wer vorbeischauen will schreibt am besten einen kurzen kommentar zu diesem eintrag oder meldet sich sonst irgendwie bei mir, damit ich einen passenden Tisch reservieren kann. Losgehen tuts am Mittwoch 31.1 um 20:00. Wird sicher lustig!

There! I started a blog. For those of you who dont know me personally, My name is Christoph Sturm and I am a self employed software developer. When I’m not working on my super secret web 2.0 project like everybody else, I am available for hire, and do consulting for ruby and java projects. I’m a proud member of the codehaus and a committer in the XFire Project, but lately i got too distracted by my ruby projects to commit to the good old java projects. We’ll see how that turns out.
