How it works:
Each person will have one minute to “Sell themselves” by giving a one minute pitch about what they do, what they sell, what their business does, what their cause is about, or anything they wish to sell in their presentation.

After each person “sells themselves” there will be time for critiquing the presentation at the end of each presentation/elevator pitch.

At the end of all presentations people will have opportunity to tweak their presentation based on feedback and give it another try.

After people are giving opportunity to “take 2″ on their pitches, a few people will be given option to do a 5min-10min pitch. No longer than 10min.

When all presentations are complete we will discuss ways to refer each other, marketing topics, and open networking and other topics of interest to the group.

Getting ready for joining the hangout.

Sign into Google or create an account if necessary.
Click on “Start a Hangout” (You won’t be starting one, you are just checking your settings)
Once you Click on Start Hangout you will see a small black video screen appear in middle of your screen.
Click the little gear icon(Settings) to the bottom right of that little black video screen.
Now make sure you webcam and your audio settings are set correctly. Just make sure they are selected by choosing them in the drop down.

The day of the event just recheck these video settings before the event when you click on the link above for the schedule event/hangout.

Arriving at the event:
Last weekend I went to a business expo in Clinton, CT. I arrived at the local town hall, checked in with foursquare and proceeded to make a new connection with another user that checked in to the event. I walked into the event and the place was packed. I noticed one thing really quick, people love Freebies! Free bags of samples, free dog biscuits, free drawings, free free free!

Useful, practical
As I walked by the table for Unilever the person gave me a bag full sample products. Like ten chapsticks, some Axe body wash, and other similar products. Very useful practical giveaway.

Free toilet paper! Get your Free toilet paper!
I went to the area upstairs and met some more fantastic people. I watched one lady going business to business and not talking to anyone and sneaking all the freebies into her bag. I think this misses the point a bit, but no on seemed to mind. As I walked by Jay Lussier of the septic service Lussier & Sons something interesting stuck out. He had this stack of toilet paper on the table with his business card taped to each roll. This idea really stuck out to me. Think about the practical value of this and how inexpensive it was for him to do this. A simple roll of toilet paper with his business card attached. If you are in CT area and need septic service, you can call Lussier & Sons Septic Service LLC at 860-669-7775. They are located in Clinton, CT.

Lesson learned: Make giveaways something people can use and be unique, practical, and relevant.

Where did my lists go?!?

You use to be able to easily see your Facebook lists on the left side of your Facebook page. They moved it and it’s not very obvious how to view status updates in the Facebook lists that you created. I show you in this screencast step by step how to view status updates in your lists.

When her 23-year marriage ended, Sandy viewed divorce as an opportunity for renewal. After a quarter century (sounds like a long time!) as a freelance artist, Sandy began a new career as a life coach. What made you decide to get into being a Dating coach and blogging about dating?

Do you think having a background in Art has helped with the design of your site and what has been the biggest challenge with blogging?

What advice would you give for people networking and dating in regards to building better relationships and having better conversation?

How do you think social networking sites have affected dating in the year 2010?  Better, worse, both?

I think it is important in networking for businesses to take offline online by connecting with people they meet on twitter, facebook, linkedIn.  I also think it is important to take the online offline by meeting people in person.  Do you find this also works in the case of dating and is there any advice you could give listeners for doing this?

I think Image and brand in business have similarities to dating, how important is image and how people present themselves in dating, and what advice would you give for people going on a first date?

Do you have any projects or events you will be working on in the future that you can talk about?

What is the best way for our listeners to find out more information about you and to get a hold of you if they need a dating coach?

1.  Could we start off the interview by you telling our listeners a about yourself.

1A. Could you talk about what got you started into cooking and into using Fresh organic ingredients.  I noticed you refer  to growing up in Bronx NY as “growing up on the farm”

1A2. And your living between CT and France these days? Lot of traveling?

1B. I can tell by watching your videos that you are very passionate about food and fresh ingredients and feeling vs measuring when your cooking.  Can you talk about that.

1C. What are a few of your favorite dishes to prepare, and what are a few of your favorite dishes to eat.

2.  I like the production quality of your youtube videos.  Can tell listeners how they can find your videos on youtube as well as talk about what went into the production of making them?

3. What have you found to be working the best to get the word about yourself?
