I think Rick Santorum has really great family values. I don’t know much about his foreign policy or economic policy though.

I have been following the Iowa caucuses. Here is what the count looks like right now:
99% of votes in. SANTORUM LEADS BY 5 votes!

“What is the purpose of taxation? Why do we tax people? We tax people in America because we need to pay the cost of government, not to take away from people who have too much, not to punish people who have been successful! The purpose of taxation is to take as little as possible from people on the society to pay the cost of government. We have a problem in Washington DC and the case of the problem is not that the government doesn’t take enough from the private sector, it’s that government spends too much! The spending has soared. It’s gone up to 25% of GDP!”

He also played an audio clip from an interview of Mitt Romney where Mitt said this:

“The notion that some people are doing too well is not an American notion. Did Thomas Edison make too much? Did Henry Ford make too much? Did Steve Jobs make too much? Does Bill Gates make too much? No! These are people who did not make this nation poorer by their having done well, they made this nation richer! They made the middle class better off. If your course in life is saying, ‘how can I keep those top people from doing well’, you’ll find a nation that’s poorer. The right course is to say, ‘how can I get more people to do well’.”

The introduction is 30 minutes long and is very encouraging and refreshing with worship music, prayer and a great performance of the song America the Beautiful. Dr. Del Tackett is present in the audience and is mentioned, as well as the breakthrough video series that he headed up – The Truth Project. My wife and I really enjoyed watching this debate. I would highly recommend seeing it if you haven’t.

I think that most of the protestors are there so they can feel like they have done something to try and change things – to be a part of something new and exciting. If you ask the question, like Michael Medved did on his radio show to one of the protestors, “What thing needs to happen so that you can say that your protests are successful?” or “I would feel like these protests are a success when [fill in the blank]” most of them wouldn’t know what to say. Some would say that we need to be more like North Korea like you’ll see in the video below:

Now the “Occupy” movement has moved into most of the 50 states and into many countries.

I have really enjoyed watching the debates over the last few months. I think any one of the people up there would be a better president than President Obama. Obama wants to tax the job creators more to make things more fair. Like Romney said in the debate last Wednesday, “This administration likes jobs, but doesn’t like businesses”. Also, Romney said that Obama is pulling out of Afghanistan based on politics and re-election.

The lessons are taught in a college classroom type environment with students taking notes and answering questions from time to time. There are also brief interviews and video clips that are played to help illustrate the points of the teachings.

These videos are put together by Focus on the Family. I highly recommend these teachings for everyone. They will probably be more effective for those who are 12 years old and above.

My wife and I really enjoyed watching these videos at the Friday night home fellowship that we attend at our friend Jose’s house. Dr. Tackett is very intelligent and his perspective is refreshing. He has an energetic personality and his teachings make you really take time to think about the things that we encounter in the world around us. Revelation 3:14-22

It declares in verse 14 that Jesus is the beginning of the creation of God.

Also, it says that Jesus would prefer if they were either cold or hot, not lukewarm. Have you ever met a lukewarm Christian? Have you ever tasted lukewarm coffee? I like it either iced or hot personally.

The church of Laodicea was wealthy in their opinion. Luke 18:25

Revelation 3:20

Rev 3:1-6

For those of you who have been Christians for awhile, have you ever experienced a time when there seems to be nothing happening? Nothing seems to work. You’ve tried everything. You’re not walking in the Spirit anymore, you don’t have the joy and peace that you once had. You’re not growing in the Lord anymore…

Well, Jesus still cares for you. He says: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Heb 13:5) Talk to the Lord about it. Do it Today!

Things seem to be going from bad to worse in the messages to the churches. There were some members of the church of Thyatira that had been seduced by Jezebel to commit fornication. Thyatira was a city which had many trade unions and in order to be a part of the union a person had to take part in many wicked rituals. They were afraid of losing their jobs so they compromised.

It also says that Jesus has eyes like unto a flame of fire, and feet like fine brass.

Are you involved in immoral practices?

1Cor 6:18

Return to Jesus and go and sin no more.

John 8:10-11

Rev 2:12-17

There were some people from the church of Pergamos that had compromised by eating things sacrificed to idols and committing fornication. These are the two things that the Lord specifically warned us to flee from. Acts 15:28-29

Also, there were some that held the doctrine of Balaam. Which taught the children of Israel how to do wicked things.

This is a warning for us also! Matt 18:6

And there were some that held the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing Jesus hates. A doctrine is a belief, and what you believe determines how you behave. What is your doctrine? Do you believe that you came from a rock 4.6 billion years ago? Do you hold to the doctrine of Evolution?

Jesus told them to “repent, or else”. He gave them a warning. We are living in the last days according to the Bible. Heb 1:1-2

And that means that if you need to repent, you should soon!

Rom 10:9

The church in Smyrna had opposition from Satan. In Revelation 2:10,  Jesus says that the devil is going to cast some those members of that church into prison. But He tells them not to fear and to be faithful – unto death. He tells them that He will give them a crown of life.

Rev 2:8-11

Yes, the devil is real. And we can encounter opposition from him. Have you ever experienced Satanic opposition? Maybe we have and we don’t even know it.

1 Pet 5:8

But we have nothing to fear if we have the Holy Spirit living inside of us.

1 John 4:1-4

The church of Ephesus had a problem according to the Bible. They had a problem of neglected priorities. The Bible says that the church of Ephesus “left their first love” at the end of verse 4. It also tells them in verse 5 to remember, repent & do the first works.

Rev 2:1-7

Have you left your first love? Are there some things in your live that you need to repent of? Our God is a loving God and He offers forgiveness. He provides it through Jesus Christ.

Rom 10:9

Kurt Reed was the one who interviewed me for my position. I worked as a contractor for 3 months and then I was hired on full time. During those 5 years I met a lot of interesting people and I saw a lot of things happen. I worked on some really cool projects too. I used Photoshop mostly and I also used AutoCAD and SketchUp.

I remember my first day there at KDRA. When I walked in the door, Kurt shook my hand and said, “welcome aboard”. Shortly after I got hired I saw less and less of Kurt. His life began to change. The larger the company got, the less I saw him. He was always away doing marketing but he could come in at any time without notice and walk by my cubicle and say, “hey Chris”.

We had some really good Christmas parties over the years too. There were many things I liked about working for KDRA.

Well, the economy got bad, some things happened…some people changed a lot of things.

Then we went out of business in November of 2008… And so, goodbye all my KDRA buddies. Now we have to start from scratch.

In 2003 I attended a school called “The Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences” in Tempe, AZ. In order to graduate, you have to complete a 3-4 month internship (they encourage you to intern out of state).

I did a 4 month internship at a recording studio in Franklin, Tennessee called Dark Horse Recording Studio. This recording studio was developed by a man named Robin Crow. He inherited the land from his wealthy parents and then built the studio later on. It’s a pretty incredible success story (see www.robincrow.com for more details). It’s probably a great place to be, unless you’re an intern there.

He has so many intern applicants! They call him daily wanting to be an intern at his studio.

If you’re considering interning at Dark Horse Recording Studio, I have one word of advice for you: STOP!

Here is a typical day while interning at Dark Horse Recording Studio, Franklin TN:

1. Take out all the trash in the complex.
2. Rake all the leaves outside.
3. Make the bed in the guest room.
4. Go to the store and buy lawn mower equipment.
5. Move wood boards across the facility by hand.
6. Drive to subway and pick up lunch for the artists.
7. Prepare hamburgers, hotdogs, and chicken for the usual “get togethers” for friends of Robin Crow
8. Wash dishes.
9. Pull weeds
10. Re-stock sodas.
11. NOT LEARN A THING

There was one day where I got to take down some drum microphones. One day I drove Robin’s son to work.

I wanted to write this article to warn anyone considering interning at Dark Horse Recording.
It’s not a good internship at all!
