New Redesigned T-Series Bottle Cap from Omnifit

Economical Omnifit T-Series Bottle caps are designed with 1/8" Luer Ports. This is a convenient method of making temporary connections, like for a syringe, or inserting 1/8" OD for HPLC supply lines.

By re-designing certain features of solvent bottle caps for easier manufacturing, Omnifit reduced the list price by around 50%, making the caps more cost-effective for our laboratory end-users. Omnifit caps are now not only technically the best on the market, but they are economical too!

Key to the redesign, it is now much easier to push through the 1/8" OD tubing through the Luer ports compared with the old version. It is no longer necessary to cut the tubing to a point and to pull through using pliers or a similar tool. The tubing can now be pushed through easily by hand, even with a blunt end. How Many Waste Lines? Use Vaplock Manifold Stack Units

8 waste lines from your HPLC? 11 HPLC waste lines? 30 HPLC Waste lines? Manifold stack units can increase the number of tubing connections almost indefinitely. Select a stack unit by your material and tubing requirements.

The primary consideration will be the combined flow rate from all the HPLC waste lines. Under normal analytical flow rates of 1 mL to 2 mL per minute from each instrument, there isn't so too much concern. However on prep systems or other higher flow rates, consideration to the connection to the waste container and the waste container volume should be considered.

A 2 gallon or 5 gallon container is sufficient for most analytical systems and quick-connect manifolds like Vaplock MA-601 may be used with a MA-300 or MA-600 Stacking unit.

For high flow rates, a larger waste container may be chosen with cam-lock connections. Use Vaplock PM-601 with MA-300 or MA-600 stacking units, for example.

Carboy and drum manifolds permit multiple waste lines of varying size and type to be connected to the container of your choice. Three-port manifolds have three 1/4” NPT ports; six-port manifolds have five 1/4” NPT ports radially, and one 1/2” NPT top port; 9-port manifolds have eight 1/4-28 ports radially, one 1/4” NPT top port. Cam locks have 1/2” or larger drain orifices.

If more tubing lines need connecting than a manifold will permit, use of the appropriate stacking unit will increase the number of ports to suit your needs.
The PM-305 or PM-605 panel mount manifolds may also be used if a nonstandard cap is present; drill a 1.125” diameter hole (max 1/2” depth) in the cap and thread in place for a secure seal.

Abstract: A method was developed for the isolation of 3,4-methylenedioxymethylamphetamine (MDMA) and other active ingredients from illicit ecstasy tablets. The method employed supported liquid extraction (SLE) with cartridges containing a modified form of diatomaceous earth. The method developed was simple and robust and the extract could be analysed directly, by GC–MS, to identify ingredients and reduced in volume for isotope ratio MS analysis of both δ13C and δ15N. The technique was shown to be highly reproducible, independent of the tablet matrix and considerably faster than existing liquid–liquid extraction methods. Crucially, no significant isotopic fractionation was observed as a result of the extraction process.

All Vaplock™ products are designed for ease of use and adaptability, and will conform to a broad array of standard laboratory solvent containers.

Use a Vaplock™ Solvent Delivery Kit to minimize vapor release while supplying solvents to your system. Threaded tubing connections (for 1/8” and 1.8 - 2.0mm OD) adapt to an inert PTFE bottle cap on a 2 Liter safety-coated borosilicate bottle, while a 2-way emission control valve allows air to enter the reservoir as solvent is removed. The valve also acts as a pressure relief, venting between 0.5 and 1 psi. Two 10 micron UHMWPE solvent filters, five replacement filter elements, Teflon® 1/4-28 plug and 10 feet of 1/8” OD PTFE tubing are also included. VK-204 is for Reversed Phase solvents only. Normal Phase solvent kits are available - please inquire.

Adjustable Height

Up to 80 mm of height adjustment is possible with an adjustable end piece (plunger). Our design gives the user fine control over the adjustment, minimizing the risk of disturbance to the packed bed.

Whether you choose a fixed or adjustable height column, you will have the following options available:

Standard aqueous system

Made from borosilicate glass and PTFE, and supplied with 25 μm polyethylene (PE) frits fitted, the columns are ready for use in the majority of applications.

Solvent resistant system

Simply replacing the PE frit fitted in each end piece, with the PTFE version supplied in the frit kit gives a totally inert system able to cope with the harshest laboratory chemicals.

Column Tubing Connections

All columns are supplied with a ready-assembled tubing set to connect into each end of the column. 1/4”-28 UNF fittings are supplied as standard and connect straight into the colored cap on each end of the column. Alternatively, M6 caps are supplied, enabling you to easily change the column over to an M6 fitting system.

Replacement Parts and Accessories

Replacement glass columns, fixed end pieces, adjustable end pieces, frits and ‘o’-rings are available separately. Accessories include frit tools, packing sleeves, column jackets, silicone seals, septum injectors and a bleed valve.
