Follow my blog with Bloglovin It has been an interesting week thus far. Some ups and downs but I have made it to another Wednesday.  A few things have sparked my interests this week, so here is what I am wishing for: Notched Collar Plaid Skirt Coat I mentioned last week that I love a good coat.  So of course with fall being here and a move on the horizon, I have been

Unless you are fortunate enough to live under a rock, I am sure you have seen the latest racial controversy brought to us by Dove. A couple of days ago, the above picture frequently popped up in my news feed on Facebook. From this picture alone, it is easy to tell why many black people would be outraged.  It looks as if washing yourself with Dove body wash will turn you from a "dirty

A couple of months back, I decided to take my friend Dorian to our local Lush store.  I've been curious to try some of their products lately, so I figured why not make it part of our day out. I scanned the shelves and counters looking for a product to try but I am not going to lie, the prices humbled my spending desire.  Initially, I settled on the H'Suan Wen Hua

It seems like the only posts I can push out before my internet decides to betray me are my wish lists.  However, I have a few posts I am working on and will have the up this week. Also, if you weren't aware, the link to all of these products are in the subheadings if not in the description. With that said, let's get started on this week's wish list... Lucky Break Olive

Happy Wednesday everyone! I missed my wish list last week, but I have definitely found some goodies I would love to share.....and hope to soon try out ;-) So here is what I am wishing for this week: GenOptics Aura Essence Serum I stumbled across this product while trying to find an eye mask of theirs that seems to be discontinued.  If you have already clicked on the link, you will

A few weeks ago, Maple Holistics contacted me to try out one of their shampoos.  Here is my first impression of the Tea Tree Oil Shampoo.  I will do a follow up once I have tried the shampoo a few more times.

It is Wednesday and my wish list has only grown.  With a move on the horizon, quite a few of my upcoming wishes involve activities and places in Hawaii.  Now let's kick of my wish list for the week! Staycation at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa Aulani is located in Ko'Olina, about 20 minutes from my house. Now you may ask why this is on my wish list when I already

I had first heard about Lanikai from my girlfriend Yadira.  She mentioned it when I told her my friend Dorian wanted to do Koko Head.  After Dorian and I woke up too late to do Lanikai during her visit, I immediately put this hike on my Hawaii bucket list. So this weekend, I woke up at 4 in the morning to finally get my sunrise hike.  Unfortunately, the hike wasn't as

What is a trip to Hawaii without a luau?  Well, that is exactly what my girlfriend, Dorian, got when she came to visit.  Initially, we were going to do the one at the Polynesian Center but some of my friends convinced us that the one at Paradise Cove would be a better option. Paradise Cove is located in Ko'Olina on the west side of Oahu.  The beaches in Ko'Olina are nice

What the Health seems to be the new must see documentary these days.  I had heard about it, but never made any real effort to watch it.  One night, my husband made the suggestion and without thinking, I said, "Sure." At the time, it never occurred to me how much of an impact it would have on those in my social circles.  What will be more interesting is seeing how many people let

After 3 years, I am bringing Wish List Wednesday back (formerly Wednesday Wishes)! As I am trying to get better with posting, I realized it had been awhile since I posted a wish list.  When I looked over my posts, I realized my last list was in July 2014! So let's kick off my wish list with something serious..... Moving Date As of this summer, my husband is making his slow crawl exit

In the last year, I have climbed Koko Head twice.  I went up and climbed down both times with much regret in my head and body.  But at the top, I couldn't help but feel a sense of peace and wonder taking in the view. Koko Head is roughly a mile and a half round trip from the parking lot and about 1040 steps on a pretty steep incline.  The "steps" of Koko Head are actually old

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I have nothing but respect for those who host fundraisers, wear pink to support the cause, and of course those who are battling or have survived this disease.  However, I had never been personally affected by cancer until recently. Yesterday, a very dear friend of mine called me to tell me she has breast cancer.  It was a

Morning Glass Coffee + Cafe was mentioned to me by some attendees at my last mommy and me coffee event. They suggested I check it out if I ever wanted my business to expand to a brick and mortar shop. The shop is located further than I expected and hidden away (at least in my opinion) in more of a neighborhood setting as opposed to downtown like I assumed. They have two locations, one is

At this point in my life, anytime I revisit Sephora it is like putting a great addiction in front of someone who is going through recovery. I don't remember how I ended up in Sephora, but I do remember telling myself that I was only going to buy a lipcolor (because I had forgotten to pack any for my trip to Georgia).  Somehow I found myself drawn to the curly hair display. For almost 6 years, I have been the girlfriend and wife of a soldier.  While I don't allow it to be my sole identifier, the thought of no longer being an army wife has recently been a topic of discussion in my household. Timing is always an amusing aspect of my life. So when I connected with the company SimpliSafe and learned about their connection with the military through their Jackson

A little over a month ago, I decided to go meatless.  While that has been a roller coaster experience, it has led to me to frequent trips to a local vegan/vegetarian store here in Hawaii: Down to Earth. Think Whole Foods but specializing in more local and no meats. One particular trip, I was strolling down the aisles hoping to find some miracle product for anything (hair, skin,

What I really wanted was only a soft, hazy space to live in, and to be left alone" -Charles Bukowski on what

As a military spouse, I don't have any restrictions to my hair styles.  Well except the ones self imposed by my errand days. And those days are just a simple high bun or ponytail depending on the state of my hair. In honor of Veteran's day, I teamed up with Suave to do a military inspired hair style.  Now, as a woman of color with natural hair I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do
