Hey LA peoples(and surrounding areas)! Just a quick note, I'll be at a Mini-Con in Eagle Rock this Saturday May 5th. That is the Free Comic Book Day of legends, so stop on by it's totally free to get in! I'll have books and Drawings and Prints. There should be plenty of cool exhibitors there, and there's a fancy lil' art show/exhibit up with lots of fine art times inside it.

Dirty Work tribute

Gallery 1988 is hosting a Comedian themed gallery show entitled Is This Thing On, it opens tonight and it will no doubt be amazing. I'm a huge comedy fan, and as much as I wanted to illustrate my favorite podcasters... there are few comedians I have as much love for as Norm Macdonald, and few movies that have such a special place in my heart as Dirty Work. So here are my pieces for the show, in loving tribute of the adventures of Mitch & Sam. I always dreamed one day these two comedic giants would join forces again, but for now Good Bye Real Cops, Good bye.

NYCC - Just The Tip.

New York Comic Con, what a thing that was. It is now over, and my feet hurt. Soon I will be in LA, with visions of pizzas and pony bars dancing in my head. The show was an overwhelming success as Oni Press sold out of every copy of Black Metal 1 & 2 that we had. So there you have it, we are the best. Along with all that success and excitement I also made time to draw some sketches and talk to some convention folks. So thanks to all of those I met, and I am sure you are thanking me now. Here is just a taste of what you missed.

I did a quick sketch of Shawn Stronghand from Black Metal for this girl. She swore that the next day she would bring me beer for my efforts. Sure enough, the next day she brought me a solid 6 pack of Octoberfest beers. Thanks!

In celebration of the release of Black Metal 2, which is now the 12th of October 2011, (this Wednesday), New York has decided to throw a special party called NEW YORK COMIC CON. My First Marvel - I did a short story for the Spiderman universe with the wonderful & talented multiple-time collaborator Kelly Sue Deconnick. It's a fun and touching slice of life (as slice of life as a Spider Island event could be) tale of a Manhattan mother who catches the bug that's been going around town and endures great power with great responsibility. USA TODAY's Comics has a preview here!

Also I did a cool interview with some nice folks over at the Radio Active Metal podcast... so if you want to listen to some comic talk and some metal music... and me stumbling over my words CLICK HERE!

SAN DIEGO COMIC CON 2011

WOOOOOOOOOO!!!! It's that time of year once more, and I'll be there. Sadly BM2 will not be out for this show, but I'll have some stuff to show you at the show if you stop by and say HEY NOW! As Always I'll have original art for sale, and i'm down to deal if you really want something, I'll have a few Black Metal 2 pages on hand as well if anyone wants to take them off my hands. Try to check in early if you want a character commission, which will be on 11x14 Bristol! SO COME STOP BY AND SAY HI!

So... Black Metal 2 is coming out October 5th. I had been dying to put up some previews, or at least drop a hint, but we kept it all hush hush until now. You can head over to Comic Book Resources to see a 25 page preview. CHECK IT OUT HERE!

But for something really special, why not grab the latest issue of Decibel Magazine which also publishes my monthly strip Stone Cold Lazy. In the latest issue, it's all comics & metal. There is also a pretty awesome preview of a later scene in Black Metal 2(see pic above, handsome I know)! The mag is always great, and this time its especially comic art friendly, with a beautiful fold out cover by Tom Neely. Click here for more info!

Hey all, been a minute. I just wrapped on a big project on a bit ago... but I can't tell you what it is just yet, soon enough, you will not be disappointed. On that Note, I want to let you folks know that artist extraordinaire Andy MacDonald & I are embarking on a new Blog project called "HEY! DRAW SOMETHING " because, well, we just weren't drawing enough stuff for fun... and that's what it will be... So far its just us, but soon more art warriors may join!

Hey! It's those covers for CBGB 3 & 4. Also noteworthy: I have provided art for a story written by Kelly Sue DeConnick in #4 titled "Count 5 or 6" but what it should be titled is "this might make you teary eyed," because it just might! I thinks it comes out late Oct, but you should probably just pick up all the issues because there is some great stuff going on in these pages.

Telltale Games Crossover Extravaganza!

I got an awesome opportunity to be a part of a really rare, fun and cool lil' crossover from Telltale Games. This 24x18 print was created as an exclusive pre-order giveaway for the Penny Arcade Expo happening Labor Day weekend. I may get some copies, and if I do, I may give them away. Stay posted, tuned, or whatever else you characters do (maybe follow that twitter thing).

So if you happen to be at PAX this year, it seems you can get one for a cool $5 with a pre-order of the game! Check out the game info here!

Maybe you've seen this comic. So it should come as no suprise that I am somehow involved with this CBGB(omfug) Anthology. So... Let me tell you something, I'll be handling cover duties for issues 3-4(That's 3 whole covers!).
