Priority Inbox can help save you time if you’re overwhelmed with the amount of email you get. It attempts to automatically identify your important incoming messages and separates them out from everything else.

Gmail uses a variety of signals to prioritize your incoming messages, including who you emailed most frequently and which messages you’ve recently opened as opposed to which messages you’ve deleted.

Wow.

My question, though, is whether or not this will change the way you use email? Check out the overview video:

Not content to sit around with kick-butt games like Combat to play, Atari had their own computer (The first time I played Zork II it was on an Atari 800 my friend had):

Here’s two ways to look at these prices:

• The top of the line iMac is the 27″ quad core version which goes for $2000. In 1985 dollars it would cost $976.
• The 10MB hard drive which went for $3500 in 1981 would cost you $8150 today.

We sometimes complain about the cost of our geeky toys these days, but the fact is, it’s all pretty inexpensive.

The company is boldly claiming that the chip within IBM’s new zEnterprise clocks in at 5.2GHz, making it the world’s fastest microprocessor.

We’re sure this claim could be challenged on multiple fronts, namely by hardcore overclockers who have seen their own chips operate at much higher speeds with the help of liquid nitrogen.

But IBM’s new silicon doesn’t require any complicated cooling; it’s just blisteringly fast.

Yay. Apparently they spent over 1.5 billion dollars on it.

Now, this would be much more important to me when I was a hardcore gamer but that life is now very much gone.

But could you imagine how awesome it would be?

How often do you update your machine based on speed these days?

Every time I announce something that I’ve developed it’s guaranteed that I’ll get an email from some idiot who apparently knows more about the product that I do (even though I’m the one that built it).

It doesn’t bother me too much but it still stings. It’s especially disheartening when it comes from a Christ-follower, and even more so when they use Christ as a justification for why I should not develop these types of things.

That’s just weird.

I’ve decided that the best description of these “types” of email is e-maul since they do nothing but yell in my face and seek to somehow damage me.

Let’s not send e-maul anymore – it’s boring and useless. It also wastes my time since I actually take the time to read your emal.

The majority of computers sold in the United States are PC’s with the Windows OS. Many consumers are content to just use IE because it is a browser that is already there.

Of course, IE’s share of the browser market is slowly shrinking. CNET has a nice looking chart showing what it looks like:

As you can see, that long blue bar is slowly shrinking. As users become more savvy, they’ll continue to look at other solutions such as Chrome and/or Firefox.

So. Who amongst the 8BIT community at large still uses Internet Explorer?

Wouldn’t it be nice if you had a search engine for all of those?

Well, there is:

Greplin is a search engine that searches your life. Once you sign up and allow access to various sites like Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, or Google Voice greplin allows you to search this easily.

Beyond the obvious “line of trust” that you have to have with this app, I feel that this might be a really cool thing. It feels like Spotlight (os x), or any desktop search.

• WP-DBManager – The big deal with this plug in is that you can schedule backups of your database. This is great if you don’t have easy command line access to your website.  Download WP-DBManager Here!
• WP Smush It – This plugin is awesome. This is a “Set it and Forget it” type addition to your site. Of course we’re all looking for faster load times on all of our properties and that is where this plugin comes into play. Smush.it takes your images and compresses them to their max.
