Curious how to make an operator screen so you can monitor multiple outputs at once? Click below to learn how to do up to 3 really easily. I should mention that this is pretty processor intensive, so it might cause pro7 to slow down if you don’t have the best machine.

In ProPresenter 7, you can add video to a textbox, but the problem is that the video restarts every time you click on a slide b/c it’s on the slides layer.

Earlier, I showed you a way to get around this problem. If you want to see that way, click here: https://youtu.be/6oaQqmmBRUU If that doesn’t work, or you just want to learn another way, click the video below to learn how to do it this way.

Imagine that you’re doing Brad Z’s trick for showing four lines of text on one screen (probably in-person) and two on another (lower third for live-stream). (Here’s a link to my version of how to do it: https://youtu.be/Tqh6Jr9UXsw ) You’d want Pro7’s UI to show you the two-line version so you could know when to switch slides.

Now, imagine that the sermon is easier to control with the full-screen version (larger text, etc).

fHow can you change which screen is showing in the Pro7 UI within the same playlist? Click the video below, to find out:

NOTE: IF YOU’RE USING PRO7.5 OR GREATER, CONTROLS LIKE PROPS, MESSAGES, STAGE SCREEN, ETC. ARE NOW LOCATED IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT. THIS CHANGED AFTER I RECORDED THIS TUTORIAL.

ALSO, THIS TUTORIAL IS UNNECESSARY IF YOU’RE USING PRO7.7 OR NEWER. IT DOES WHAT THIS TUTORIAL SHOWS, BY DEFAULT.

Let’s say your pastor wants to highlight a particular word or phrase by bolding it, changing the color, etc.

That’s easy…except there’s a problem. In Pro7.6 or older, the text formatting doesn’t carry over (in 7.7, if you don’t want it to carry over, this trick would work, too).

So, how do you solve this problem?

Copy the text to the notes field in the editor. Make sure you have a theme that has two text boxes, one you should leave as is and add the visibility option with a rule to show it when it has no text (so it doesn’t show the main text). Link the text to the main slide notes and make sure to check the preserve notes formatting check box. Apply that theme to the secondary screen and the formatting should carry over.

Click below to see what I mean.

NOTE: IF YOU’RE USING PRO7.5 OR GREATER, CONTROLS LIKE PROPS, MESSAGES, STAGE SCREEN, ETC. ARE NOW LOCATED IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT. THIS CHANGED AFTER I RECORDED THIS TUTORIAL

Let’s say you want to show 4 lines to your in-person congregation and 2 for the lower third on the live-stream? How can you do that in Pro7?

It’s not immediately obvious, but I’ll give you an overview. Paste the four lines into the notes area of two slide. In the regular text box, put the first two lines on one slide and the third and fourth on the second slide.

Now, we need to make two themes. Make a lower third theme for the live-stream. We’re going to apply this to the slides on the slide layer, so that we change slides more frequently.

The magic happens when you create the in-person theme which shows the notes area and NOT the main text.

For that theme, you’ll need two text boxes. Format one as if it’s how you want the four line version to look. Now, under the text tab, link the text to current slide then notes.

For the other textbox DO NOT LINK IT. Instead, go to visibility and select that. Select “any of the following” or “all of the following” (it doesn’t matter which). Select “Has no text” for the current slide text. So, that will ONLY display this text box when it doesn’t have text. When it does it won’t.

You have to do this because Pro7 wants to show the text from the main slide on alternate themes…UNLESS YOU TELL IT NOT TO, EXPLICITLY (using the visibility option).

Now, use Looks to apply the audience theme to the main output. Don’t use an alternate theme for the live-stream. That way, you (or the operator) will follow along in the main UI changing twice as often as the audience needs it changed.

One note. This only works if you use the cut or dissolve transitions on the slides layer. If you do something like cube, it will be obvious to the in-person congregation that you’re changing twice for every slide.

NOTE: IF YOU’RE USING PRO7.5 OR GREATER, CONTROLS LIKE PROPS, MESSAGES, STAGE SCREEN, ETC. ARE NOW LOCATED IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT. THIS CHANGED AFTER I RECORDED THIS TUTORIAL

When Renewed Vision added live-streaming within ProPresenter 7 in the 7.1 feature release, one of the first questions I heard was “now, how can I send this to both Facebook AND YouTube at the same time?” If that’s your question, watch the video above and learn three different strategies, from the most expensive (and most reliable) to a FREE way (that might actually cost you more money, depending on your internet service). Here are the links I mentioned:

Imagine that your church only has one seat for ProPresenter 7. You want to edit and create playlists at home or in your office and then transfer them (via Dropbox, a thumbdrive, whatever). So, you download Pro7, but don’t register this second copy. Can you do what you want? Yes…but there is a problem. Any Bibles you purchase can’t be loaded onto an unregistered machine. Well, rejoice, my friends because Pro7.4 adds the ability to have a registered, but inactive machine that doesn’t cost extra because it has the Pro7 Watermark and therefore wouldn’t be any good for projection, BUT that CAN use purchased Bibles. Watch the video above to learn more.

NOTE: Each Bible can only be loaded onto one machine at a time, so if you’ll be editing in both places, you’d need a separate copy of the Bible, but that’s not that much money and worth the expense for the trouble it solves.

Now, with ProPresenter 7.4 that’s changed. You can easily make it so the bar is as wide as the text box, as wide as the longest line, OR as wide as the word. How? Watch the video above to find out.
