What is HEART OF THE CANYONS, a Santa Clarita church, Kidz Quest?

There are lots of Santa Clarita Churches, let us tell you how Kidz Quest is different.

At Kidz Quest we believe the Bible should never be boring, worship can be really loud and good leaders always care!

Kidz Quest is the children’s ministry at Heart of the Canyons for children from the Birth through fifth grade. Kidz Quest is a ministry where children learn how to study the Bible, to worship through singing and to build quality friendships.

The concepts and principles which guide Kidz Quest are best described as a color–orange. Orange represents the idea that two forces working together will have exponentially more influence than either entity alone. For us, that means parents and the church is working together to make a difference in the lives of children so that we can do more together than we do alone.

There are three pillars to the Kidz Quest Children’s Minstry; they are Common, Connect, and Community.

A Common worship experience with parents called “it’s a BIG HOUSE”
A place to create Community with other children in our Sunday Small Groups

All of these events are designed to reinforce the virtues children are learning at home, because we believe what happens at home is more important than what happens at church.

Through this it is our desire to help children know, and love Jesus and to love and serve others.

Heart of the Canyons Church is one of the Christian Churches in Santa Clarita that meets at LaMesa Junior High in Canyon Country. The church office is at 21618 Golden Triangle Road, #201. The telephone number is 661-255-7246. The church believes in the Bible in its entirety. The Christian Churches in Santa Clarita is a very welcoming Church. Ushers, greeters and church members make sure all visitors/attenders feel at home. Questions about children/youth ministries and church activities can be answered at the CommUnity Center.

Music is an integral part of the church. The Worship Team and the choir sings songs of praise that lift the heart. There is great emphasis on learning what the Bible has to say and what it means. The current sermon series is the book of Ephesians.

There is a Youth service and Sunday school for the children. The members and attendees at Christian Churches in Santa Clarita are taught to understand the purpose of God and how we are supposed to live our lives on this earth. Having daily quiet times, thanking the Lord for all that He has provided and worshiping Him and giving Him praise are all very important.

Those who are preparing for marriage are given guidance by the pastors. Couples learn the purpose of marriage, the responsibilities attached to bringing children into this world and the way they have to be brought up in life. They are also taught that marriage is of course a serious issue and they should not take it lightly. The couples are made aware that they have to be loyal and honest to each other and protect each other at all times.

There are opportunities for the members of the Christian Churches in Santa Clarita to help in the local community whether it is participating in blood drives, Day for Kids, Relay for Live or Help the Children. Heart of the Canyons strives to be an integral part of the community.

The Baptist Church has weekly programs such for the Youth and mid-week Bible studies. There are occasions for fun and fellowship such as men’s breakfasts, Women’s Dine and Swap, Woman’s luncheons and Men’s and Women’s retreat and all special occasions like Father’s Day, Mother’s Day and other important Christian holidays.

The schedule for the week includes Men’s Small Group Meeting, Women’s Small Group Meeting and special Visitation Sunday. On Sundays there are the regular Baptist Church Canyon Country Services for all ages and of course Youth services and Children Sunday School. A church calendar and the church website help people to remember all that is planned. Podcasts of the sermons and blogs are available online. These are inspirational and motivational. The website and prayer chains keep the whole family of the Christian Churches in Santa Clarita connected so that as many needs as possible can be met.

Visit http://HeartoftheCanyons.com and follow us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest information. You can listen to the Pastor’s sermons on-line and/or download them to your computer or iPod.

The church is dedicated and committed to ensuring all the activities taken on by the Churches in Santa Clarita attains the goals of the Purpose-Driven church. Churches in Santa Clarita ensures a Christ-like service and commitment.

Heart of the Canyons Church is a Santa Clarita Fellowship. The SCV offices are located at 21816 Golden Triangle Road, Santa Clarita, California, 91350. This is a church where all people are welcomed. During this difficult economy, the church believes that God has control over all things and “…God causes all things to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28 NLT) They believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in Christian fellowship with other believers. They are people who are determined to live according to the word of the Lord. Los Angeles Churches of which Heart of the Canyons is one, is led by Pastor Jim Ryan, the church has elders, trustees and ministry directors and leaders.

Heart of the Canyon’s is a Purpose Driven model with the Bible as its foundation. It has an intentional emphasis on the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).

Jesus gave the Great Commandment when he was asked to identify the most important of God’s commands.

Jesus replied: ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matt. 22:37-40

The Lord Jesus Christ is their focus, be it in weekly corporate worship, daily prayer individually or in community small groups or fellowship events. Heart of the Canyons Church, one of the Los Angeles Churches lives to know and love Jesus and to love and serve others. The members of this fellowship give with an open heart, because they believe that everything they have has been given to them by God and is meant for sharing.

Heart of the Canyons Church has small groups that meet during the week for fellowship, sharing, accountability, Bible study and prayer. They have Men’s Ministries, Women’s Ministries, Refuge and Insight for youth and Kidz Quest for children. Heart of the Canyons, one of Los Angeles Churches ensures a Christ-like service and commitment. It reaches out to the community to sponsor food and blood drives and participates in many other community events.

Heart of the Canyons has its own Website and is on the Facebook and Twitter so that everyone can be in instant contact. You can listen to the Pastor’s sermons on-line and/or download them to your computer or iPod. You can learn more about this church at http://www.HeartoftheCanyons.com.

April 4th, Heart of the Canyons Church, one of the Los Angeles Churches is celebrating Easter! There will be an Easter Egg Hunt for all children. The services are at 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00. The services will be uplifting with a choir and celebration of the Lord’s resurrection. Please be sure to join us for a day of fellowship and fun.

Heart of the Canyons Church (HOTC) incorporates contemporary elements into the traditional form of worship. The music is both upbeat and worshipful and the sermons are biblical, are meaningful within current times and enhance spiritual growth. At HOTC, one of LA Churches this type of service occurs in both the main service and the youth service, so both adults and the youth grow in Jesus Christ.

Heart of the Canyons Church also has children’s ministries, with curriculum specifically designed for each developmental age group. The curriculum provides children with a solid foundation to begin their spiritual growth.

Pre-marital Biblical counseling is available for those who are contemplating marriage at the LA Churches. Biblical marital counseling is also available. HOTC can give referrals to those who require more extensive counseling.

HOTC also has out-reach events that involve the local community including blood drives, youth concerts and fairs with food and children’s games. HOTC also participates in Santa Clarita’s Day for Kids and Relay for life. ShareLife is HOTC’s own outreach event that involves a food drive for Help the Children and a blood drive for Children’s Hospital. These activities help the church build stronger bonds with the Community.

Currently HOTC’s Dominican Republic Missions Team is hosting a Date Night on February 13th. They will provide childcare in return for a donation to fund their missions trip this summer to the Dominican Republic. This with help spread the gospel of Jesus Christ world-wide.

According to the the gospel, Christians at the LA Churches believe that Jesus came to earth as a man, was crucified on a cross, was buried and rose again. Those who believe in him can have everlasting life. They believe that Jesus Christ alone justifies the faith that they have for Him. Because of their powerful faith in Jesus, Christian people are saved by His loving grace.

Heart of the Canyons Church is a focal point for people to learn the word of God and get a road map for the kind of person you ought to be. Heart of the Canyons Church, the San Fernando Churches realized that in order to be meaningful in the present context to a broad age-group, the church services have to either blend contemporary elements into the traditional services, or have separate contemporary services for the younger generation.

The youth at Heart of the Canyons Church, one of the Churches in San Fernando meet on Wednesday evenings and at 10:45 on Sunday mornings at laMesa Junior High, led by Pastor Arnold Camacho. These services are naturally youth-oriented. The messages deal directly with the issues and concerns that the young are dealing with. The question arises – what is the difference between traditional church services and contemporary church services. Traditional services use a prescribed order of worship. Contemporary services are more freeform. At Heart of the Canyons Church, Churches San Fernando, corporate worship in the main services blends traditional and contemporary worship. There are Bible studies for members of all age groups. It is believed that a family that prays together stays together. Consequently, there is a service for children, young people of Junior High School and those who are in Senior High School.

There are small groups for men, women and families. There are separate counseling groups for those who are planning to get married, and for couples. In all their programs, there is a deep underlying concern for the well-being of others.

Heart of the Canyons Church, one of the Churches in San Fernando runs a program called Care Ministry. Within this ministry, there are teams of people who work on a rotation basis for various Ministries. For instance, there is a Hospital Ministry, where a team visits those who are in hospital or are confined at home; a Meal Ministry, where the members who form a team ensure that families where there is a new born baby, or there is some illness, or surgery, have food to eat and are cared for.

This service is also extended to homes where there has been an accident or maybe death; a Prayer Chain, where the team receives and diligently prayers for specific prayer requests. These requests can be sent to San Fernando Churches either by telephone or email. The team prays for that need, and then passes it onto the next person in the chain. There are special groups that meet to help with specific issues of life, loss – Grief Share, and divorce – Divorce Care.

Churches in San Fernando have teachings for all groups of people, be it youth, children, adults and families. Special sessions are held for the youth to give them proper guidance during their most important years of their life.

Heart of the Canyons church, is one of the Churches in Santa Clarita and has as its guiding light, the words of Jesus which state: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20. The members of Evangelical Christian Church Santa Clarita believe that this is the Great Commission that has been given to them. They are to go and make disciples, baptize them, and teach them to obey the word of God.

The Great Commandment that the Evangelical Christian Church believes in is: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with your entire mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matt. 22:37-40. It is these – the Great Commandment and the Great Commission that create the main elements of this Evangelical Church. From this have grown Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry and Evangelism!

Not only are the members of the Churches in Santa Clarita supportive of each other, but their focus is in their growing in faith. In the Evangelical Christian Church there is great music and the sermons are very inspiring. The church itself has a casual atmosphere, because the members believe in dealing with real life issues. There is a Children’s Ministry, a Junior High Ministry, and a High School Ministry. The main aim is to develop a Christ-like maturity in all those who worship here. Further, the church equips the members to help in the in-house ministry programs and also to go as missionaries into the world.

It is through Bible study that the parishioners of Evangelical Christian Church Santa Clarita understand what their mission in life is. Studying the Bible also helps them to grow spiritually. Thus, through Worship they express their love for Jesus, through Fellowship they build meaningful relationships, through Discipleship, they learn how to equip themselves to live deeply Christian lives and to serve, and lastly, through Evangelism, they learn to share God’s message.

Churches in Santa Clarita understands that the house of the Lord is a place of worship of the Christian community, where all get together to praise the name of the Lord. Sunday is the common day, when the congregation attends corporate worship with the entire family as followers of the Son of God, Lord Jesus Christ. This community strongly believes that God has called all of human kind to be together and live together as all humans belong to God alone. Lord Jesus Christ is believed by the congregation at Evangelical Christian Church Santa Clarita to be the center of human history and all people live for him.

Heart of the Canyons Church is Baptist Church Canyon Country that meets at LaMesa Junior High in Canyon Country. The church office is at 21618 Golden Triangle Road, #201. The telephone number is 661-255-7246. The Baptist Church is independent i.e., it is not part of any national organization, or convention. They believe in the Bible in its entirety. The Baptist Church Canyon Country is a very welcoming Church in that every member of the family feels at home – there is something for everybody. Music is an integral part of the church, and the choir sings songs of praise that lift the heart. There is great emphasis on learning what the Bible has to say, and what it means.

There is a Youth service and Sunday school for the children. The members and attendees at Baptist Church Canyon Country are taught to understand the purpose of God and how we are supposed to live our lives on this earth. Praying daily, taking the name of the Lord and thanking him for all that he has provided are some of the teachings .

There are opportunities for the members of the Baptist Church Canyon Country to help in the local community whether it is in the hospital, at Help the Children, or to repair the homes of those who cannot afford professional help.

Celebrate Recovery is available to help those who need a Christian-based recovery program. Members of the Baptist Church Canyon Country believe that they have a larger ministry in Santa Clarita and in worldwide missions.

The Pastor, Church Administrator and the Elders are always available. The website and prayer chains keep the whole family of the Baptist Church, Canyon Country connected so that as many needs as possible can be met.

Churches, increasingly are either incorporating contemporary elements into the traditional form of worship, or are opening separate contemporary churches where worship is more freeform. It is important for the church to move with the times so that it can remain the point of focus for the young, more so, because youth is the most difficult time of life. It is the main aim of the Contemporary Christian Church Canyon Country to see to it that especially children and young adults grow in Jesus Christ.

To this end, the order of worship, the music used and other programs are designed to be relevant to the age group for which they have been created. Everything is planned in a manner that is concurrent with the times. At the same time, the Contemporary Christian Church Canyon Country creates a safe place for people to grow. It is a place where the members help each other to understand the fast-moving and often incomprehensible changes that are taking place globally. Naturally, these global changes have a local effect. In the Contemporary Church the family is still the most important unit and there is something for every member in the family.

There are Children’s Ministries, Ministries for Junior High as well as Senior High School, and Ministries for the young adults. Biblical counseling is available for those who are contemplating marriage at the Contemporary Christian Church Canyon Country. There is also counseling available for those who are married. Hospital care is an important ministry and there are teams of members who help with supplying food to those who are in hospital, as well as for those families who are in distress due to illness, surgery, or are busy with a new born baby.

This kind of out-reach from the church to members of the local community inculcates the spirit of service and giving at Contemporary Christian Church Canyon Country. This then translates into reaching out to the larger world. There is help available for those who are victims of substance abuse, so that they can be lovingly rehabilitated into the church and community. Bible studies are very much a part of the Contemporary Church, so that members study the word of the Lord in depth and use it as a guiding light to live their own lives. Fun activities that the Church plans help build stronger bonds.

To make things new on this earth, Christians at the Contemporary Christian Church Canyon believe that Jesus will come again to save people. They believe Jesus came to earth as a man, was crucified on a cross, was buried and rose again so people who believe in him can have everlasting life. Christ alone justifies the faith that they have for Him. Because of their powerful faith in Jesus, Christian people are saved by His loving grace.

There was a time not so long ago when declining membership in churches was a source of great worry and concern. It is a recognized fact that there has to be a focal point for people and what better than a church where you learn the word of God and get a road map for the kind of person you ought to be. Heart of the Canyons Church, the Contemporary Church Canyon Country realized that in order to be meaningful in the present context to a broad age-group, the church services have to either blend contemporary elements into the traditional services, or have separate contemporary services for the younger generation.

The youth at Heart of the Canyons Church, a Contemporary Church Canyon Country meet on Wednesday evenings and at 10:45 on Sunday mornings at laMesa Junior High. These services are naturally youth-oriented. The messages deal directly with the issues and concerns that the young are dealing with. The question arises – what is the difference between traditional church services and contemporary church services. Traditional services use a prescribed order of worship. Contemporary services are more freeform. At Heart of the Canyons Church, a Contemporary Church Canyon Country, corporate worship in the main services blends traditional and contemporary worship.

The Contemporary Church Canyon Country runs a special program called Care Ministry. Within this ministry, there are teams of people who work on a rotation basis for various Ministries. For instance, there is a Hospital Ministry, where a team works with those who are in hospital or are confined at home; a Meal Ministry, where the members who form a team ensure that families where there is a new born baby, or there is some illness, or surgery, have food to eat and are cared for.

This service is also extended to homes where there has been an accident or maybe death; a Prayer Chain, where the team receives prayer requests. These requests can be sent to Contemporary Church Canyon Country either by telephone or email. The team prays for that need, and then passes it onto the next person in the chain. Likewise, there are teams that deal in the same manner with grief – Grief Share, and divorce – Divorce Care.

The Contemporary Church Canyon Country has teachings for all groups of people, be it youth, children, adults and families. Special sessions are held for the youth to give them proper guidance during their most important years of their life. Teachings like speaking the truth always, having respect for elders and having faith in God, are some of the things taught to youth, who are exposed by and pressured to give into to what society says is okay, rather than biblical truths taught by the church.

Heart of the Canyons church, the Evangelical Christian Church in Santa Clarita has as its guiding light, the words of Jesus which state: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

Not only are the members of the Evangelical Christian Church Santa Clarita supportive of each other, but their focus is in their growing in faith. In the Evangelical Christian Church there is great music and the sermons are very inspiring. The church itself has a casual atmosphere, because the members believe in dealing with real life issues and do not want to be distracted by externals.

The Evangelical Christian Church Santa Clarita understands that the house of the Lord is a place of worship of the Christian community, where all get together to praise the name of the Lord. Sunday is the common day, when the the congregation attends corporate worship with the entire family as followers of the Son of God, Lord Jesus Christ. This community strongly believes that God has called all of human kind to be together and live together as all humans belong to God alone. Lord Jesus Christ is believed by the congregation at Evangelical Christian Church Santa Clarita to be the center of human history and all people live for him.
