The web media platform is always a changing landscape. We have now seen the Web 1.0 and the Web 2.0 and I suspect there will be another huge shift soon.

Some of what I have observed relates directly to how churches use websites as a means of communication. Originally their websites were archaic and simply an online brochure. Now it is a tool which pastors and their teams use to share messages, provide music, teach lessons, take prayer requests, and for socializing. It is amazing and necessary for today’s culture.

One of the best things is that a church no longer has to invest thousands of dollars to meet these goals. It no longer requires a closed Content Managment Sytstem that is proprietary and difficult to use or being locked into a box with high monthly fees.

WordPress has opened the doors wide and set the standard for Website Content Management Systems. Click here for a free white paper on how to use WordPress as a CMS.

We will start sharing more tips on ChurchTheme.com about how you as a church or ministry can use WordPress, our premium themes, and the wide range of available WP plug-ins to create a church website that competes with or exceeds the custom designed websites which cost $3,000 and up to create. Until then, please feel free to look around or contact us with any questions that you have.
