Do join us if you can. You will be most welcome, whether you have never been before, or have not been for a couple of years, or are a regular!

The list for October is:

Oct 3 New Life Church at All Saints Church Hall

Oct 10 Little Cornard Church

0ct 17 New Life Church at Thomas Gainsborough School

Oct 24 Glemsford churches at the Old School Hall.

Kettle & Fish is not open this Thursday, 1 October. It is next open on 8 October. Please do drop in and see us then. We will be serving the same delicious food and providing the same friendly welcome as always, 9.45am to 1.15pm at Suffolk Road Church, just off Girling Street, next to the former Aldi site.

Future dates are:       8 & 22 October.

As always, dates may occasionally change at short notice.

Please ensure Kettle & Fish is publicised in your church – great food, an opportunity to chat, and always someone on hand for a conversation about the Christian faith or to pray with you.

Please see and display the attached poster and encourage people to come along. It’s good to have helpers from different churches (they’re a fantastic team) and it’s also a great place for church members and townspeople to meet up.

Here are:

• Annual Report , including reports from our chairman, Jim Stewart, and from 15 of our linked organisations;
• Annual Accounts – please look at the notes as well as the figures. Our bottom line will soon fall by about £2,600;
• Officer Role Descriptions – all positions require nominations, and we are especially keen to fill the gaps for vice-chairpersons;
• Officer Nomination Form – to be returned by Friday 2nd October.

Agenda to follow, when available.

Our AGM & Open Forum is on Monday 5 October at St John’s Methodist Church, York Road, at 7.30pm, with refreshments from 7pm. The meeting is open to all local churchgoers. After a brief business meeting with elections of officers, there will be an opportunity to hear about two of the many organisations that CTiS&D supports:

• Future Vision, which takes the Chrisitan message into many local schools; and
• Sudbury Fairtrade Group, which is working towards renewing Fairtrade Status for the town, and encouraging churches to obtain or renew their status.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions and to give your views, which may include a review of the aims of CTiS&D and how local churches can work together to be an effective Christian presence in the area. Do come along, and bring others.

Please display the poster and note the change of venue.

The Annual Report, summarising activities of CTiS&D and linked organisations for the past year, the Financial Report, and nomination forms for officers, will be available soon.

Does your church lack one or both its representatives to CTiS&D? Perhaps you could fill that gap. Representatives are appointed by individual churches, using their own procedures.

Please consider prayerfully whether one of these roles is for you.
