Saudi Arabia says one more man has died from a new respiratory virus related to SARS, bringing to 40 the number of deadly cases in the kingdom at the center of the growing outbreak.

The Saudi Health Ministry said Sunday the 51-year-old man who died in Riyadh was also suffering from cancer and other chronic diseases, while tests of two new suspected cases involving two Saudi men in the southwestern province of Asir proved positive.

The new virus is related to SARS, or severe acute respiratory syndrome, which killed some 800 people in a global outbreak in 2003. It belongs to a family of viruses that most often causes the common cold.

The Golf R Cabriolet will be front wheel-drive only, like its Scirocco R coupe sister.

That'll keep the Golf R Cabriolet's weight closer to its soft-top GTI sister's total of 1555kg. In comparison, an all-wheel-drive Golf R hatch weighs in at 1521kg.
I bet this'll be a pricey Golf...

You're not wrong. VW hasn't yet revealed pricing for the Golf R Cabriolet, but CAR understands it will carry premium over a GTI Cabriolet, similar to a Golf R's over a GTI hard-top.

That's around £6000 extra, pitching the Golf R Cabriolet at around £36,000. It's comfortably the priciest production Golf yet.

This is (really) the new BMW Z4 for 2013. Granted, the tweaked head- and tail-lights, and new side vent modelled on the BMW 4-series are subtle alterations at best.

It's what's under the bonnet is of more interest, if you've always fancied one of BMW's folding hard-top sports cars on your driveway.
A new engine for the 2013 BMW Z4?

Yes indeed: a new 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, clumsily badged as Z4sDrive18i. It's actually a detuned version of the same 2.0-litre unit found in the (you've guessed it) Z4sDrive20i.

Power outputs in the entry-level car stand at 154bhp and 177lb ft. That's 28bhp/22lb ft less than the next model up. Unsurprisingly, it's the slowest Z4 in the range, hitting 62mph in 7.9sec and topping out at 137mph.

The My-First-Z4 achieves 41.5mpg and 159g/km of CO2 according to BMW – identical figures to not just the 20i, but also the 2.8i, which boasts 244bhp and 258 lb ft.
But is the entry level 18i BMW Z4 cheaper?

Yes, by a sizeable £2100 versus the 20i. Prices start at £27,610 for a manual transmission car, though an eight-speed automatic is also available.

That price tag puts the 18i Z4 in the same cost ballpark as the similarly powerful Audi TT Roadster 1.8 TFSI, and £2375 cheaper than the Mercedes SLK 200.

He said Heru was now being questioned intensively.

Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto told reporters that internal affairs had investigated Heru before the arrest.

He said that Heru was alone when arrested and had not been assigned to the narcotics division.

“The police are questioning four witnesses who are considered to be related to the case and know about Heru’s use drug usage,” he said at his office.

“He bought the drugs from four places in Bekasi, Cibarusah and Jakarta.”

Rikwanto added that there had been reports that Heru had been using drugs and an internal affairs team was therefore assigned to handle the case.

He said Heru would be charged with violating Articles 114 and 112 of the Narcotics Law, carrying a five-year sentence.

“We will continue the investigation. Afterwards we will bring the case to the court and there will be a professional ethics code hearing to decide his status,” he said.

Xenia Car Kills Pedestrian 8 death

Chronology of Xenia Car Kills Pedestrian 8 Death . A witness who survived the deadly collision events in MI Ridwan Rais Road, Monument Farm, Gambier, Central Jakarta, on Sunday, January 22, 2012, said the Daihatsu Xenia car drove very fast at the time of the incident.

High-speed car finally swerved and hit a group of pedestrians, killing 8 people.

"The car was not speeding anymore but it is very fast and had a zig-zag so shaky," said an eyewitness, Suwarto, 54 years old, when met at the Jakarta Police accident unit.
Suwarto explained the car was coming from the direction toward the Monument Farmers Gambier. When approaching Monument Farm, high-speed car suddenly lost control. That's when cars began to hit the pedestrians on the sidewalk.

"First, the car was seized three men, then a bunch more, and hold a group of people again. Until finally stop crashing again that there are children, mothers, and adolescents. Everything is discharged home from the monument," he said.

Suwarto said the pedestrians hit by a car while it was walking on the sidewalk. Not being crossed.

After crashing into the stop, he continued, the car did not stop as well. The car then pulled into the yard meringsek Ministry of Commerce. "As I entered the office of the ministry, the car was made two more bounce, just after it stopped," he said.

"There was a small child being dragged under the car body. After the incident, I was shaking. This is all the Almighty's help, I managed to escape. This is the most terrible events," added Suwarto.

He added that after the accident, most victims do not move.

"All died on the spot. What I do know there are six who died on the spot, nothing else was taken to hospital. I cling to the little boy was not moving," said Suwarto which appears to be still in shock to the incident.

Pengadilan Tata Usaha Negara Bandung memenangkan gugatan Asosiasi Pengusaha Indonesia (APINDO)

Berita terkini, Pengadilan Tata Usaha Negara Bandung memenangkan gugatan Asosiasi Pengusaha Indonesia dan memerintahkan penundaan pelaksanaan aturan upah minimum kabupaten/kota (UMK) di Jawa Barat 2012. Putusan sela PTUN tertanggal 19 Januari 2012 berlaku untuk penundaan UMK Bekasi.

Ketua Umum Asosiasi Pengusaha Indonesia (Apindo) Sofjan Wanandi dalam jumpa pers di Jakarta, Jumat (20/1), membacakan putusan sela PTUN Bandung tersebut.

Sofjan menegaskan, untuk sementara perusahaan membayar upah buruh sesuai dengan keputusan tahun 2011. ”Sebagai pengusaha, kami tidak ingin merasa menang-menangan. Putusan sela PTUN secara resmi memang telah disahkan, tetapi ini bukan putusan final. Kami tetap membuka pintu negosiasi untuk menentukan upah buruh agar kegiatan dunia usaha kembali berjalan baik.”

Sofjan membeberkan kronologi penentuan UMK Bekasi. Dari hasil survei kebutuhan hidup layak (KHL) dengan 46 komponen penilaian yang telah disepakati, sesungguhnya nilai upah sesuai KHL sebesar Rp 1.356.242,36 per bulan. Tahun 2011, UMK Kabupaten Bekasi ditetapkan dalam tiga kategori, yaitu UMK sebesar Rp 1.286.421, UMK kelompok II mencapai Rp 1.376.470, dan kelompok I Rp 1.41.163 per bulan.

Namun, muncul Surat Keputusan Gubernur Jabar Nomor 561/kep.1540-Bangsos/2011 tertanggal 21 November 2011 tentang UMK Kabupaten/Kota di Jabar 2012. UMK ditetapkan sebesar Rp 1.491.866 (naik 15,97 persen), upah kelompok II sebesar Rp 1.715.645,90 (naik 24,64 persen), dan upah kelompok I sebesar Rp 1.849.913,84 (naik 30,81 persen).

Difasilitasi Kementerian Tenaga Kerja dan Transmigrasi, perhitungan pun dilakukan kembali. Akhirnya, Dewan Pimpinan Nasional Apindo sepakat mengusulkan kenaikan upah dengan proporsi UMK Rp 1.415.063,10 atau naik 10 persen dari upah tahun 2011, kelompok II sebesar Rp 1.582.940,50 (naik 15 persen), dan kelompok I sebesar Rp 1.696.995,60 (naik 20 persen). Proses negosiasi ini akan berakhir pada 24 Januari 2012.

Menolak

Penolakan soal upah juga terjadi di Kabupaten/Kota Tangerang. Bahkan, sempat pula terjadi penyisiran dan penyanderaan buruh yang menjadi pengurus Apindo. Karena itu, Apindo Tangerang juga mengajukan gugatan ke PTUN Bandung pada 18 Januari 2012. Hingga kini belum ada putusan pengadilan.

Secara terpisah, Pelaksana Tugas Dinas Tenaga Kerja dan Transmigrasi Banten Eutik Suarta meminta para buruh dan pengusaha menyikapi persoalan revisi UMK 2012 sesuai aturan.

”Menyalurkan pendapat dibolehkan, tapi jangan anarkistis. Kalau misalkan sampai memaksa, seperti menutup jalan tol, itu yang tidak diinginkan,” kata Eutik Suarta di Serang, Banten, Jumat.

Eutik mengatakan, Pemerintah Provinsi Banten memutuskan revisi sepanjang hal itu sesuai aturan dan tidak memberatkan semua pihak. Tuntutan revisi UMK 2012 seperti disuarakan Aliansi Serikat Buruh/Serikat Pekerja Tangerang Raya dinilai tidak terlepas dari UMK DKI Jakarta.

”Kami mengubah bukan atas demo semata, melainkan juga melihat upah di daerah sebelah, yakni DKI Jakarta. Jadi, dua tahun terakhir, UMK Banten sama dengan DKI, kok tahun ketiga tidak sama. Setelah kami melakukan kajian, akhirnya kami melakukan revisi,” katanya.

Gubernur Banten Ratu Atut Chosiyah melalui SK Nomor 561/Kep.886-Huk/2011 tertanggal 21 November 2011 kemudian menetapkan UMK yang besarannya bervariasi di setiap kabupaten/kota di Banten.

UMK 2012 itu kemudian direvisi. Selain UMK di Tangerang Raya (Kota Tangerang, Kabupaten Tangerang, dan Kota Tangerang Selatan), revisi juga dilakukan untuk UMK Kabupaten Serang, Kota Serang, dan Kota Cilegon. (osa/cas/art)

Advanced prototype warship made in Indonesia
