Ishihara color vision test online

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Tue, 28 Apr 2015 01:30:00 +0000

This is my online and free version of the Ishihara test for color-blindness. In addition to saying what exactly your deficiency, it also teaches us that no one has the truth about colors: Contains some images that color-blind people don't see at all, others that they see different from the rest and others that only they can see. One way or another, we all lose some nuance of reality...

Ishihara's test description

The test consists of 38 images or plates consisting of circles of different colors, and is designed to detect the two most common types of color blindness:

Protanopia, which is total or parcial red-blindness, and
Deuteranopia, the total or parcial deficiency to perceive green.

This test does not include cases of Tritanopia (blue-blindness) as they are very rare. And are really few people who see no color at all (that is, they see any color as gray). Beyond that, about 10% of people have some kind of daltonism, which means little more than "a difference in their perceptions of the colors." Of course, some are more extreme, too different ways of perceiving like most people do.

Just like some are more sensitive to cold than heat –without thereby living in another reality, in most cases there is a harmless shift or offset of colors: the world of who does not see red, for example, is richer in greens and blues, with shades that someone "normal" can not distinguish or appreciate; it is like the other colors have invaded and taken advantage of the space left by the missing color. This is a different sensibility, but not necessarily a disability.

The most common color blindness is a offset between red and green caused by a deficiency to perceive one of them or both. In varying degrees, we all have that shifted perception. When it is mild, protanopia is called "protanomaly" and deuteranopia is called "deuteranomaly". This test is designed to diagnose only the most extreme cases (the "nopias"), but may give you clues to subtle abnormalities (pay attention if you see some images more intense than others)...

Instructions and recommendations

Below each Ishihara plate you will see buttons with options. Choose the one that best suits what you see after you have observed the image. Some may be ambiguous, so choose instinctively without thinking too much. The response speed is important because colors don't need to be thinked and there is no one to deceive.
Be honest with yourself. Colorblind people confused certain tones with others but also can easily distinguish differences invisible to normal people; so there are images in which you may not see anything, though you were not color-blind, and others (most of them) in which unknowingly you will see something different than the others (although neither they are color blind).
Don't worry about seeing or not seeing, nor afraid to say you see "Nothing". Nothing there to guess correctly, not a test that you must pass. At the end of the test will be revealled your diagnosis, ie: if you see as most people do or like a minority, which is neither good nor bad (or it would be good to belong to most if almost everyone was blind?).

The most beautiful models (in alphabetical order)

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Wed, 13 Jun 2012 19:57:00 +0000

It takes beauty! Because even in the middle of the battle the men stop for dream or avert their eyes from the road to see if the horizon is still there. We need something to fight, especially when it seems that there is not. And love can not be represented, but as we all love something beautiful, beauty itself can be exemplified. And these are some examples of universal beauty, standards of beauty...

Stereograms

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Thu, 12 May 2011 18:41:00 +0000

Let's explore one of the strongest optical illusions ever: stereograms, pictures that create a sense of three-dimensionality from two-dimensional images, such as 3D movies but at a glance. Warning: It is possible that after seeing this collection of stereograms you feel headache, you stay squint for a while and/or get hit by a motorcycle slightly out of focus...

What is a stereogram?

A stereogram is a very specific image that contains two "layers" of information: the one with colors and shapes, as any image, and another with a depth that is encoded in the first layer. This second layer tells your eyes how far away set focus on each point of the image, and can be hidden in random dots, patterns, shapes or textures.

When viewing a 2-dimensional image, as in reading this text, both eyes focus on a single spot and move together over the surface, crossing over the same point of the plane. In order to see a stereogram, however, the eyes focus on a point in space behind or in front of that plane, intersecting at that point and not on the plane. The result is that certain pixels seem closer than others, creating a sense of 3-dimensionality.

In order to reveal the illusion, we need some technique...

How to view a stereogram?

There are many techniques to achieve this, but all have the same goal: to focus not on the surface of the screen but beyond. These are the most common ways to accomplish this:

Zoom out. This is the easiest method for beginners: put your face close to the screen and try to see through it as if it was not there (without getting squint). Then, move your head away slowly until your eyes focus naturally the 3D image. You can practice this with any three-dimensional object to acclimatize your sight.

See through. A more aggressive technique that involves forcing the eyes to see "behind" the image, focusing the infinity (or blurring) without moving the eyes... and then gently moving them elsewhere to find a pattern that wipes out for "fine tuning". A distance of 1.5 - 2 feet is usually ideal.

Relax your eyes. This is the fastest, safer and most effective for those who already have certain experience with stereograms. Simply take a look in the direction of the image without focusing on anything, staring, like daydreaming. The three-dimensional image will reveal by itself naturally and almost instantaneously.

Stereograms

These are examples of the best stereograms, some of my own creation and others found on the web (click to view in full screen):

Between the Earth and the Moon

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Mon, 18 Apr 2011 15:36:00 +0000

Between the Earth and the Moon is a game wich needs a single click, imagination and a lot of questions to one-self. Are they close or far? Are they small or big? Are they special or just more of the same? Are they ephemeral or eternal? Earth attract the Moon or teh Moon roll? Do tehy float or rest in space? Wich one is on top of wich one? How would be the trip between the two? Is much or little what we know?

Cibermitanios' Intelligence Test

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Tue, 15 Mar 2011 23:56:00 +0000

Intelligence, no matter if Einstein's, Shakespeare's or of Mother Teresa's, has to do with learning to detect patterns and associate symbols, and that's what tests this test. There are 40 questions with different difficulties that will test those skills. (The intelligence you put inyo this will dictate the number of correct answers, not the opposite.)

Rules

All answers must be written in lower case, and respecting the rules of spelling.

There is no time limit nor mandatory order to answer the questions. Patience and imagination are key qualities to apply your intelligence.

The first question show its answer to make things easier. When you press the "Check" button, you will have gained the first point.

Test

Results

1 to 10 correct answers: poor intelligence. Definitely you don't took the time to think about the questions. You could try again, or apply for a job at Microsoft.

11 to 20 correct answers: average Intelligence. It's a very good result. Most will not pass this point, although some general knowledge will help you answer more questions with the same brain.

21 to 35 correct answers: high intelligence. Your result is worthy of a reader of Cibermitanios. Your mind knows to get new points of view and take unusual decisions.

36 to 40 correct answers: genius or expert in Googleing. Your intelligence is superior to 90% of the people. You should be working on a time machine or something like that.

This, like any test, is just a game, and the result has no real value. Your life, your game; your rules, your results.

Please do not write your answers in the comments section below.
