Isaac just ran out of body wash, and really wants to get clean. But when the devil loans him his body wash (that smells like cinnamon) and shows up at his beside a week later to collect, what will our young protagonist do?

Still Alive and Kicking

Contrary to popular belief,
all the members of CTV have not stopped doing everything film-related altogether.
(we've just stopped talking about it)

I myself have been hard at work on my own project.
So far the most I can say about it, is that it is a shot in the dark
last minute-ly planned and filmed
and unfinished as of time of writing.

My lead actors consist of Ryan Hunter as Coaster and Aileen Parada as Josie
I am withholding the name of the film, the plot, and the script, until all is ready.
I will however release various bits a peices of the script and production stills right now though.

Since this blog is about Cinema, I will post my cinema related summer project on here first.

A. The first draft of a script for a feature length film called SCAR
B. Robbie discover the ball, the animation
has been put on hold until i can get maya 2008 properly installed on my new computer

On the other hand, I have two other projects I will share with you.

A. Werehuman (working title): This story is a comedy about a wolf that can turn into a human only during the full moon. The first lines are (almost like x-men orgins) "do you know why wolves howl at the moon? I do! because the moon is what made them wolves in the first place. She took away there humanity for their wolf like forms. So when a wolf is howling, its begging her to give it its humanity back. And sometimes, shes kind enough to give it back. Of course theres strings attached."

B. Battle Bridge: All my heros ive created over the years, battle each other in this rather Cliche story.

Some Sort of Season Finale???

So, I dunno!! I've always felt like life was a more like a TV show instead of a movie (the philosophy behind why we can discuss in a much longer, future post). Recently, with the school year ending and all, everything has felt so Season Finale-ish. As if things are coming to an end, but with so much promise of things to do next year.

Last night I had an amazing night with my fellow film majors at the PUC Student Film Festival. Though none of my films were allowed in the festival, the oh so promising director Halstyn Hart allowed me to act in her Indiana Jones tribute: The Tree of Life. I had an amazing time on set and getting the chance to be a "British" lab assistant. It was an amazing experience watching myself on the big screen and seeing people laugh at the funny parts. Also happening this weekend is the 1st St. Helena Family Film Festival. This festival comes from the very hard work of everyone over at Cameo Cinemas. There are alot of tight events such as tonight there is going to be an open panel with some animators from Disney, tomorrow they are having a pancake breakfast, Sunday they are showing the movie Macho Taildrop, and Monday Night is Oscar Night.

Oscar Night is my favorite night because I was actually involved with it. As part of the Family Film Fest, the Cameo allowed children to send in their movie ideas and accepted some of them from production. The Cameo then hired some of us majors(film that is) from PUC to mentor these kids into making a movie. I just wanna see these kids go nuts when they see themselves up on the big screen. It's truly rewarding knowing that you helped a kid reach his goal in making a movie.

As of next year, I'm excited for working with Aaron David Doyle, video yearbook editor. He has some great ideas. I'm overly excited for working on my own short Fall of Man which is part of the larger film Sex,Drugs, and Alcohol. Third, I'll be working as Assistant Director on Stephen Lutes' senior thesis next year. Also, I am trying to convince upperclassmen Adriel Angeico to let me have an acting role(my new love) on his feature he will be working on next year.

A lot of good things to look forward to next season.

Down This Strange Road

Recently, I've been thinking about my future plans and what I should do in life, film, etc. As I looked back in my past, I realized that everything sort of fit together to what I should be....

a Psych Major.
So from now on, I'm leaving this step in film to go to another journey back into my past to confront who I am, a Psych Major. It's been fun guys and I appreciate what you guys have done for me, you've brought me back from the dead and have given me life. And now that I have seen my ways, I'm going to take my leave without taking a look back just so I don't change my mind. Thank you all for everything.

Michael and I Have Unlocked A Strange Power

Recently, our future Social Vice President (as in Pacific Union College's) asked me to help him make a commercial for a pool party he was having. I decided to make it look awesome, I should do something like Tim and Eric, Awesome Show, Great Job.
Well, I went to Michael, who is a far greater editor than I am, and asked him for help. We googled for a while, and couldn't find a damn thing. So, we decided to experiment ourselves and again Michael and Edgar have struck gold. Here is our experiment made of seen,unseen,and obscene footage from Michael and Edgar Make A Porno. Expect some updates from the commerical soon, since I am suppose to be shooting it today.

That's all I've been doing lately. I have a few projects I've got up my sleeve.

Staked

A couple of years ago, this guy read, in the UK, read one of my scripts and wanted me to write him a pilot for a bipolar cop (i still have it, if anyone wants to take a gander at it). I wrote, he liked it, and decided not to produce the show due to some rough moments in his life. Ever since then, we have kept in contact about life, film, and about how I want to tour Europe. (Maybe with Sex, Drugs, and Alcohol.) Anyways, one day he asked me to write him a pilot for a comedy/adventure vampire web series. I've let a few people read it and they liked it. I let him read it and he loved it. If you wanna know more about the show go to it's fan page.

Of Livers and Dirty Cops [Working Title]

I don't know if you guys remember Alejandro Hinestroza, he is the guy dancing "naked" in Beginning of A New Era (look to the right), I was discussing to him a movie that the two of us could play in. It's about a organ harvester who just discovers that his own liver is failing him and getting a transplant will be vital. After discovering he has a fraternal twin brother, he sets out to steal his new found relative's organ. But of course I couldn't make the story so simple. It turns out that his twin brother is a cop who has just uncovered a huge scheme of dirty cops and is just about to turn in the evidence. So the story follows the complication of the harvester trying to get that liver and the brother running away from dirty cops. It's supposed to be a comedy.

Prostitute Love [Working Title]

This story follows a group of cops who have a weird fetish of banging prostitutes and then killing them. So now, one of the cops falls in love with a prostitute and tries to protect her from the others. So it's another chase movie in a sense, but this one isn't a comedy. More of a Tarantino/Rodriguez style movie.

What I've been doing for the features is writing the opening scenes. For Staked, I've been working out a whole season of story ideas. I'm also working on a secret video fro SA. So yea, watch out for more news on each.

Hey, I'm Philip and this is my first post on Cinema Thought Vomit.
A few things about myself
1. I swam on a floor to a wall (that's why one of my nicknames is Phelps)

Well anyway...
Let's have a dangerous and productive, yet fun journey!

The best kinds of parties are the ones that leave you thinking about inspirational things. So here I was on the computer just browsing, when my thoughts went to thoughts of mother's day came up. I immediately thought to myself of how fucked up I have been to my parents and how Mute Love (a movie that was inspired by my parents and a K-movie) was never finished. So my mind turned to a certain classical song that left me with wet, glazed eyes and a heart that dropped to my feet.
Anyways, I'm thinking of doing a musical trilogy, possibly with the same feel as Mute Love. It will cover all movements of Moonlight Sonata. I'm thinking for the first movement, there will be a funeral with a son remembering the times he had with his dead mother. I'm still working on thinking something for the 2nd movement since it's different from the others. For the 3rd movement, I'm thinking of going back to San Jose and San Francisco to film a dance battle. Anyways I'm done here, so any suggestions/people who want to help out with this project?

Festival Time and Activism

The PUC Student Film Festival is coming up and Michael and I are entering a film. Holy CRAP!!! ARE YOU EXCITED? I am!!!
Two big pluses for me: one is my movie on a big screen and two is the Q&A after. (If people don't ask questions, I will put up Into The Life of Kool Dude and make people watch it)
Michael and I have a photo shoot with the Amazing Ali Patterson so a poster should be coming up soon.
I won't tell you the title just yet, but it's gonna be awesome.

Also, I've decided to do be sort of an activist here at this school, so I am going to start working on a series of videos attacking the dorm life here at PUC, which is at an all-time low. I am going to start doing one soon about the showering conditions as you saw in my first video, is completely public. And no disrespect to the way dude comfortable Ancient Greeks, but I find no pleasure in being naked around several men with water running. So look out for that.

Why There Won't Be Any Drugs this Quarter?

Not literal drugs. Sorry to deceive any crackheads into reading this ( not like you could sit still to do it anyways.) But this is a post to inform that my portion of Sex, Drugs, and Alcohol will not be made anytime soon. We ran into a few speed bumps.

My Lead Actor/ Producer, Lead Actress, Supporting Actor, my two other Producers, and myself are all on probation this quarter. To make a film of this magnitude of drug use/reference would put us at a risk. Though I am always down for films that push the grain, I am not in favor of putting anyone besides myself at risk. So my producers and I have decided that this is the safest move, legally, to make.

What does this mean for Sex, Drugs, and Alcohol. The other two directors, Michael and Neil, have the option of filming their segments this quarter and not doing anything with them until my segment is completed or just shooting without me. I think they are still making their minds on it. So, I doubt this quarter I will becoming up with any videos that are creative. ( I don't count the Sonoma Project...I am just a producer)

But next year I have some big things planned. I have a few music video ideas up my sleeve. I am currently working on writing a pilot for a British web series with my friend Kieran Henshall. Third, I have decided to work on the Lady Gaga with my friend Jackie Lott. And of course next year you can look foward to the full of version of Fall of Man either in SDA or by itself.

Word on the street is that Soiland will start filming his segment as soon as next week so stay tuned for some production stills on that. I am currently finished casting, just some logistics to work out. Michael is in the middle of casting and writing.

Yes, Yes, Yes.... I know I've been gone for a while and you have missed me oh so much.
But I did not return empty handed. I have some news.

Bad News first... My frequent collaborator Alejandro Hinestroza (the naked dancing guy in Beginning of A New Era and the guy who curses at me in Whatcha Say?) is no longer attending PUC. So now he will be representing Los Negritos Productions from Southern California.

Before Alejandro left we were planning on making a sequel to Beginning of A New Era... Well I've been having major block with that idea. I decided to take on making a new music video based off the song The Party by Justice. The music video will be based on a party I attended and was suspended because of. It's gonna be interesting and really slow like the song.

Sex, Drugs, and Alcohol is rolling. I got the two roles casted. I prefer not to say who. Working on picking up a cinematographer and adding more to the crew. We should be shooting in 2 weeks or less. Really excited for that.

Last and in no way least, I will be making a musical on one of the greatest artists of our century (sarcasm included): LADY GAGA. I will be making a musical starring me as Lady Gaga satirizing most of songs which for some reason are extremely addicting.

I am planning to film it non-HD, but on an old camcorder, for the shake-y feel.

SCAR: The Hero Within

Ever since i was a little boy i used to daydream about heroes. The thought of a hero excited me.
Thus, when i started drawing, thanks to a series of circumstances, my first picture was of a werewolf. Eventually i wanted my art to have life. It was from then on that i fell into the love for comics.
Thus, my first hero that i ever put into a comic would become my most cherished.

So, after many rewrites of the story in my mind, here's my idea:

SCAR: The Hero Within

It is often said that it is ones circumstances and choices that shape ones being. For this reason i understood my brothers feeling toward humans.
We were monsters.
Our parents abandoned us when we were kids, out of fear.
My brother grew up to become the most feared mob-boss of the most feared monster gang.
I grew up to become a hero, desperate to show the world that, even though i had the outward appearance of a monster, inside i was a normal person.
He wanted to show humanity that monsters were to be feared.
I wanted to show the city that, even thought we were monsters, we did not like to act like monsters.
My brother and i grew up to become polar opposites.
A wise man once told me.
"Your a monster, scar. You will always be a monster. People fear monster to the point where they hunt them down and kill them, not for who they are, but for what they are. Show them that inside, your not the monster they think you are."
This was before he was brutally murdered by my brothers gang.

But my story does not start there.

It starts out when Scars brother gets released from prison, and reveals his plan to blow up the city.

Too much to take in?

Well heres more.

The love interest, Silvia, is part of Scars brothers gang.

She know, deep down, that Scars brother is wrong. But Shes too afraid of the what the boss would do to her if she tried to get out.

This is a story about love and loss.
About brothers trying to find the reason for their existence.
About the Choices one makes.
About the paths one takes.
About a city thats desperately in need of a hero.
"People pray for heros, the want a hero. Even to the point where they dream of heros. But when it gets time for someone to step up and be that hero, Every one remains quiet. Which leads me to believe that maybe, they never wanted a hero at all."

An Idea For A Documentary

The Fall Of Man Sings

I have this weird way of writing my movies. I play it all out in my head first. Then I add a score to it. I listen to the score for days and days before I start writing. Once I've internalized the emotions from the score, I go to hell and write the screenplay.

So, soon I'm gonna start on The Fall of Man full version script. Ozzy and I have been looking for indy bands to score SDA. Well a band literally fell into my lap. I saw The Drags performed at our school talent show and they rocked the house enough to score the third place spot. So I talked to their lead singer Ben Gonzalez and asked if he would help me score Fall of Man since after attentively listen to his myspace page, I feel his music is extremely appropriate for my film. If you wanna get a peek at it, here.

Spring Break And Why It Relates

So, the wild rampage of stress from this quarter will finally come to an end.
Since the quarter will be over, I am supposed to get rest.
Not quite.

Remember Sex, Drugs, and Alcohol? ('cause I didn't)
I am going to be all over that script. It's due by the end of spring break...
So I got that to work on.

Also, if you look to the right of this blog, there are videos that each of us have made.
There is a video made by me and my partner in crime Alejandro Hinestroza called Beginning of A New Era.
It's an experimental dance video. Alejandro and I have decided to continue the story.
(besides the assumed ending of a death)
So I'll be shuffling through ideas over that.

Plus I have some surprises up my sleeves... So watch out Spring Break.
