If you noticed, all this past week on the sidebar I had a link posted where you could vote for me to win the chance to interview for an internship with Vince Camuto this summer in NYC. We had to enter a photo of what we would wear to an interview and I chose a 50's style high-waisted skirt with a silk top, cropped jacket, and simple black heels. Well after having my friends and family vote for me for a week, I am happy to say that I am one of the top ten finalists! There are eight girls and ten guys. I will have an interview in the future and I'm really hoping I get this internship!

Remember last's Friday's post when I was obsessing over neon colored satchels? Well last week in Target I saw this bag but didn't get to buy. Yesterday however, I snatched it up, realizing that it was something I would definitely use.

It's no Cambridge Satchel Company bag but it will definitely work.

The forecast for the next few months? Bright colors that pop. Have you seen the Target commercials on tv where the people come out of a hot air balloon and change people's clothes so they are brighter? What about the Gap ad campaign telling you to add color. Color is everywhere--especially bright-colored satchels. Here are some of my favorite picks by one of the top satchel retailers in the UK, the Cambridge Satchel Company.

I just got this dress and blazer in from Forever 21 Tuesday--yes, that top is a dress. I was planning on wearing just the two together but I realized that the dress alone is a bit too short for class with my long legs. So I tucked it in. I'm so excited about this blazer. You can dress it up or down (like here).

My Valentine's day was great and not-so-great at the same time. On the one hand, my boyfriend got me some wonderful gifts and those few short minutes that I saw him earlier in the day made me really happy. On the other hand, I had a test in my class and I had a lot of homework (and still do)--that part wasn't great.

After looking at photos from the Globetrotter Diaries blog, I really wanted to try this heart-shaped bokeh tutorial. Between everything I had to do, I took some time to take these photos. What do you think?

I'm usually not one who goes for anything "studded" but when I discovered these shoes I fell in love, especially since I used to do ballet. These ballet shoes have been converted into a stylish everyday flat that can be worn outside! The only thing the site says to worry about is stepping in puddles! D.I.Y. Gretchen Jones Inspired Necklace

As mentioned in yesterday's post here is a great D.I.Y. project courtesy of one of my favorite sites, Honestly WTF. For the full instructions head to the blog here. I decided to make a smaller version.

So what do you think? I have to admit there were times when I nearly burnt some of my fingers in this process, but overall I'm very satisfied with the results. Let me know what you think of this project!

D.I.Y. Half and Half

Here's a new nail design to try.

Start with a base coat. Then put tape strips across your nails diagonally, covering the top half of your nails. Then proceed to paint two coats of the first color on the bottom half of your nail that is uncovered. When you have finished and removed the tape it should look like this:

Next, carefully paint the next color over the top half being sure not to paint over the bottom half. If you do go over a little, that's okay. The finished product should look like this:

See? Very simple! It's important to keep a steady hand while doing this (I admit I messed up quite a few times). Go over the colors with a clear topcoat for a more polished look.

Tuesday Basics

Sometimes it's better to have a basic look than going out looking like you've tried way to hard to put together an outfit (even though sometimes it can be a difficult process). I've paired a basic black leather jacket with a pastel button down tank. Simple and still stylish-just how I like it.

This Monday I was so excited to do this post that I didn't take photos from my weekend (which was anything but dull).
