So as of 7/16/2008 we made it on Mtv… well sort of… Mtv has recently launched “Soundtrack” their new community for musicians and fans of music, and yep we’re one of the first up there.

The years of wishing I could pick music for shows, introduce people to music I love, champion emerging bands that make me feel something: all of that is the heart of SOUNDTRACK. While i could definitely not be classified as religious or spiritual at all i have come to accept that things in the universe happen for a reason. Some are good things and some are bad, but in the end all of them seem to lead to better things (and thinking) in the future. Recently at work (i work for a large e-commerce company in Detroit) i was approached about moving from data management to the design team, coding CSS. This was both exciting and a bit overwhelming to me, since my CSS skills were not “up to snuff.” So i spent time studying CSS (which is short for Cascading Style Sheets, and basically are the “design side” of webpages.) I watched a few tutorial videos and googled a lot of different topics to learn what CSS can do and what it can’t. While i was doing this i was also thinking in the back of my head how this would be helpful for circuitse7en and our website. So i started re-writing the site using a basic (yet extremely powerful) theme i had recently come in possession of. The picture you see is the before and after of my CSS work on this site. I doubt i would have been able to pull this off without studying and learning so much for work. I really want to stress the point that things do happen for a reason and if we will take the time to stop for a moment and examine what is going on in our lives and perhaps learn a lesson or two along the way that life can be an amazing thing!

Welcome to the new circuitse7en.com! New you say? but this is my first time here. Well then… Welcome to circuitse7en.com! For those of you who have become regular visitors you may notice that things look a bit different than the last time you visited. To start with we have done a major overhaul on the graphics of the site and switched a few back-end items around also to provide greater compatibility with ALL browsers/OS platforms. We were very happy with the look and design of the old site however some of the technology we were using was incompatible with older browsers (IE 6 and earlier) so we decided to make some changes and went to a format that is web standards compliant and will look the same no matter what browser or os you may be running. We also added some new features like the audio player in the right hand column so you can listen to all of your favorite circuitse7en tracks from any page on the site. Have a look around and let us know what you think.

July 1st is “Unofficial International WordPress Day“. So you may find you your self wondering what is WordPress and why are circuitse7en writing about it? Well WordPress is a CMS (content management system) and blogging platform. It is also completely open-source and is supported by a huge group of third party developers. It also just happens to be the platform that circuitse7en uses for this site. It’s amazing flexibility makes it easy to set up any kind of site, from a simple blog about your cat to incredibly complex sites of any kind. If you’d like to see some amazing examples check this out. So if you’re looking to build a site of your own for any reason, be it a blog, music site, video site, or practically anything else check out WordPress.

New Music: Slave

The conversation went something like this “well most of your lyrics are pretty rank!” “yeah but mom this one is way dirtier than anything I’ve ever sung.” That was the conversation Courtney had with her mother about our 10th new song (and final unreleased song on the CD Chaos & Hedonism). The truth is this by far the dirtiest song that i have ever written. It is a series of commands a femdom mistress is giving to her male sex slave, where she is telling him exactly what she expects him to do to please her. This along with the other 9 songs we have released so far will be available for sale and download very soon as Chaos & Hedonism.

New Music: Choke a Bitch

Once upon a time, when i was a manager for a large chain music store i had the pleasure of working with a guy named Damian R. Master (it’s ever funnier if you say it outloud). And Damian is probably the funniest human i have ever had the pleasure to hang out with. One of his favorite sayings (at least the one i remember the most) was “choke a bitch” as in do your jobs or Damian’s going to have to choke a bitch” or “what’s wrong paul… do you need Damian choke a bitch?” I would assume that he picked this up from the Dave Chapelle show, but to be honest with Damian you could never be sure. Anyway this phrase stuck with me through the years and one day when i was really into combichrist and working on a “dark house” tune this phrase popped into my head and helped me to complete the song.

New Music : Hedonist Anthem

Hey all, ready for more new music? Well then you’re in the right place. Over the next week or so we’ll be posting the last three tracks from the chaos & hedonism CD that is due out soon. (Soon as in as soon as we get it back from the printers and as soon as it’s all listed on iTunes.) This song is titled “Hedonist Anthem” and was chronologically the last song we recorded. A hedonist is a person who lives by the philosophy that pleasure is of ultimate importance, and the most important pursuit. Some may argue that hedonism only leads to anarchy and destruction, but we feel it is a healthy normal way of live so long as our actions are not harming to anyone.
