This Sunday, families across America will pause to honor the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who have shaped who we are.

Strong families are the foundation of a strong nation, and faithful fathers play a vital role in building them. Through their everyday guidance, correction, sacrifice, and steadfast presence, fathers pass on the values, faith, and character that outlast them for generations.

Scripture says it plainly: “The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.” (Proverbs 20:7).

President Reagan once said, “All great change in America begins at the dinner table.” He was right. The most consequential work in our nation doesn’t happen in committee rooms or on campaign trails. It happens in homes, around dinner tables and in the simple moments that matter most.

At Family Policy Alliance and Foundation, we are deeply grateful for the fathers who lead their families well. Their influence doesn’t stop at their front door. It flows into their churches, their communities, and ultimately, our nation.

That question led to a unanimous 9-0 Supreme Court ruling in favor of a New Jersey pregnancy resource center.

While the case involves a pregnancy center, the principles at stake reach far beyond the life issue. The Court’s ruling reinforces protections for free association, donor privacy and the constitutional rights of Americans to support causes they believe in without fear of government intimidation.

If you pay attention to the headlines, you may have noticed something important: Most of the progress on pro-family legislation is happening not in D.C, but in the states. 

There’s a story behind that… and you’ve played a role in it.

Some would go all the way back to our Founding Fathers, who designed a system where most of the policy decisions affecting everyday life were meant to happen at the state level. And indeed, we can be thankful for that system.

Others would point to the almost-constant stalemate in Congress, and it’s true that makes for an easy bar for states to surpass.

But there’s a “secret sauce” that has been driving a long run of remarkable pro-family wins in the states.

For years, through your support, Family Policy Alliance (FPA) has hosted and served an alliance of state-based Family Policy Councils (FPCs). These organizations, many of which FPA helped launch, have been growing—now operating with nearly 400 professional staff nationwide with expertise in law, lobbying, communications, media, church relations and other key areas.

This growth in capacity and credibility has led to an unprecedented surge in pro-family policies advancing in state capitols.

You may have read about FPA’s initiatives like Help Not Harm to protect kids from gender transitions, Save Girls’ Sports, and Age Verification to protect kids from pornography. In the past six years, each of these FPA-led initiatives has become law in at least half the states – and in nearly every case, it was Family Policy Councils that did the heavy lifting to get it done.

But despite the incredible progress in many states, so much still hangs in the balance. That’s especially evident in bluer states, where we’re only beginning to see breakthroughs on some of these issues.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. 

Their courage and sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy today and remind us of the extraordinary cost of liberty. We are deeply grateful for the generations of Americans who selflessly served and laid down their lives to protect our country and preserve freedom for others. 

On May 31, 1982 at Arlington National Cemetery, Ronald Reagan said, 

“The United States and the freedom for which it stands, the freedom for which they died, must endure and prosper. Their lives remind us that freedom is not bought cheaply. It has a cost; it imposes a burden. And just as they whom we commemorate were willing to sacrifice, so too must we—in a less final, less heroic way—be willing to give of ourselves.”

As we reflect this Memorial Day, may we never take these sacrifices for granted. We also extend our gratitude and prayers to the men and women who continue to serve our nation today, along with the military families who support them.

Dear Supporters,

Last night, the U.S. Supreme Court extended a stay allowing the abortion drug mifepristone to continue being shipped through the mail nationwide while legal challenges continue.

At Family Policy Alliance, we are deeply disappointed by this decision.

Women deserve real medical care, not dangerous abortion drugs delivered by mail with little to no medical oversight or any in-person medical evaluations.

These mail-order abortion drugs also place vulnerable women at greater risk, including victims of coercion, abuse, and trafficking. Americans deserve to know the truth: chemical abortions are often accompanied by serious physical and emotional dangers that are conveniently minimized, underreported, or ignored altogether.

Abortion drugs like mifepristone are now the leading form of abortions in the United States, accounting for more than 60-65% of all abortions. It is past time for this tragedy to end.

Family Policy Alliance will continue working alongside pro-life organizations and our state Family Policy Councils across the country to strengthen protections for women, unborn children, and families.
