The Iron Maidens

The Iron Maidens Heavy Metal Formed in 2001, The Iron Maidens have quickly established themselves as one of southern California’s most popular tribute acts and are rapidly gaining international recognition. The band boasts beauty as well as excellent musicianship, lively stage presence, and a remarkable stage show with theatrical scenes interspersed throughout. First and foremost on the agenda of The Iron Maidens is talent. The full Board of Aldermen (BOA) will meet in person to review and discuss various topics. This can include Board Bills, Resolutions, Mayoral Appointees and various other City matters. There is no public comment taken at full Board meetings.

Public Seating, Free and Open to the Public

This meeting is free and open to the public. There is designated seating in the balcony (gallery) for members of the public who wish to attend.

COVID - 19 Meeting Protocols

For those who wish to do so, the Board of Aldermen continues to encourage observing COVID-19 safety protocols while in the office and during in person meetings. This is encouraged particularly when hospital admissions are high. Until high admissions the wearing of masks is optional.

Admission to the Chamber - BOA Rule Number 39

During a meeting of the Board of Aldermen only the Mayor and/or their designee; the Comptroller and/or their designee; members of the Board of Aldermen and their spouses and/or immediate family members; employees of the Board of Aldermen; employees of St. Louis Development Corporation or Community Development Administration assisting an Alderman with sponsoring a bill on the floor; and the President shall be admitted to the floor of the Chamber.
The Mayor and the Comptroller shall each have a seat and a voice but no vote in the Board of Aldermen. (City Charter, Art. VII, Sec. 1 and Art. XV, Sec. 2).
Honored guests, representatives of the press with proper professional credentials, and any persons with a mobility disability as described in the Americans with Disabilities Act who cannot otherwise access seating in the gallery shall be admitted to the floor of the Chamber, to be situated at places designated by the President. honored guests shall include only immediate family members and/or spouses of members of the Board of Aldermen, and individuals or groups being honored by the Board of Aldermen by Courtesy Resolution or those delivering the opening prayer/reflection for the meeting.
No individual except an honored guest as defined in subsection 3 shall be admitted to the floor of the Chamber if such individual—
1. is a registered lobbyist pursuant to Mo. Rev. Stat. § 105.470;
2. has any direct personal or pecuniary interest in business pending before the Board of Aldermen or its Committees:
3. is in the employment of or represents any party or organization for the purpose of influencing, directly or indirectly, the passage, defeat or amendment of any legislative proposal pending before the Board of Aldermen or its Committees.
It shall be the duty of the Clerk or their designee to see that all other persons are excluded from the floor of the Chamber.
Guests admitted to the gallery shall maintain proper decorum while present in the Gallery. No devices that amplify sound shall be permitted in the gallery at any time.

Bell-tone clarity cut with grit packs a power punch. - Rock & Blues Muse Kara Grainger's music career began in a small suburban town of Sydney, Australia and since has taken her on an incredible journey around the globe. Combining slide guitar, soulful vocals and a heartfelt approach to songwriting, Kara's sound takes you up and leaves you ready for more. At the age of 16, Kara joined with her brother Mitch Grainger to form the band "Papa Lips". The band toured consistently throughout Australia and produced two studio albums that received national air play. In 2008 Kara signed to Australian label "Craving Records" and was invited to the US by producer David Kalish where she recorded her debut solo album. The recording entitled "Grand and Green River" received critical acclaim and remained in the top 30 of the Americana Charts for 38 straight weeks. The Jacob Jolliff Band

Jacob Jolliff is one of the world’s premier contemporary mandolinists. In 2011, he graduated from Berklee College of Music, having studied there on a full scholarship. A fixture of the bluegrass scene, he has performed and collaborated with Béla Fleck, Tony Trischka, Michael Daves, Grant Gordy, Wes Corbett, and Alex Hargreaves, to name a few. Additionally, throughout his 20s, he toured as a member of the groups Joy Kills Sorrow and Yonder Mountain String Band. Currently, his focus is on his own ensemble, The Jacob Jolliff Band—one of the most cutting-edge progressive bluegrass groups on the scene today. They’ve released three albums, the most recent of which, “Instrumentals, Vol. 2: Mandolin Mysteries,” dropped in May 2024. The band plays a combination of complex original instrumental music and vocal repertoire that spans from trad bluegrass to unlikely pop covers. Improvisation and the ensemble interplay are at the forefront.

Neil Salsich is a singer, songwriter and guitarist born, raised and proudly based in St. Louis. He cut his teeth in the bars and wine haunts of South City, made his name with his original roots-rock band The Mighty Pines, and found his fame during a heralded run on NBC’s The Voice. He moonlights with Dave Grelle’s Playadors and Sean Canan’s Voodoo Players and enjoys collaborating with the diverse talents of musical St. Louis. In April, he launched his new podcast Meet Me In Music which aims to document and preserve the inspiring stories of music-makers in St. Louis and beyond. Shanna in a Dress is your quirky best friend who refuses to wear pants. She says what everyone has felt but no one else will say and you'll get an uncensored journey of clever humor and heartbreak, extreme candor, and a hefty side of entertainment at her shows. This witty wordsmith is known for taking you on an emotional roller coaster, sometimes within the same song. Think John Prine mixed with Ingrid Michaelson with a twist of Phoebe Buffay from Friends all wrapped up in a sweet voice accented by guitar, piano, and ukulele. During a meeting of the Board of Aldermen only the Mayor and/or their designee; the Comptroller and/or their designee; members of the Board of Aldermen and their spouses and/or immediate family members; employees of the Board of Aldermen; employees of St. Louis Development Corporation or Community Development Administration assisting an Alderman with sponsoring a bill on the floor; and the President shall be admitted to the floor of the Chamber.
The Mayor and the Comptroller shall each have a seat and a voice but no vote in the Board of Aldermen. (City Charter, Art. VII, Sec. 1 and Art. XV, Sec. 2).
Honored guests, representatives of the press with proper professional credentials, and any persons with a mobility disability as described in the Americans with Disabilities Act who cannot otherwise access seating in the gallery shall be admitted to the floor of the Chamber, to be situated at places designated by the President. honored guests shall include only immediate family members and/or spouses of members of the Board of Aldermen, and individuals or groups being honored by the Board of Aldermen by Courtesy Resolution or those delivering the opening prayer/reflection for the meeting.

The Cody Sisters

Procedures to Speak in Committee Meetings Virtually

The Chair of the Committee will announce when the meeting will be open for public comment. If you wish to speak, click the “Raise Hand” icon and function in the Zoom Meeting Screen while in the meeting. This will place a raised hand next to your name. Usually only people showing a raised hand will be called on to speak.

When the Chair is ready for you to speak you will be moved from the attendee list to the participant list by the meeting manager. You will be moved back to the attendee list once you are completed. Speakers from the public will be called to speak in order of appearance on the list. Committee members may have questions after your talk.

When you enter the meeting to speak the Chair will ask your name and may ask if you are for, against or have no position on the petition. The Chair may also ask other questions related to your relationship to the petition.

The Chair will determine the amount of time all speakers will have. The Chair may determine this after all those wishing to speak have raised their hands. The time usually allotted to speak is about three (3) minutes. The exact time will be announced by the Chair before the public comments begin.

Board of Aldermen Rule 34 – Public Hearing Procedures

After the presentation of a bill, resolution, or topic for discussion by City Officials or invited guests at a Committee Meeting, the proponents and the opponents of said bill or resolution shall be heard alternately, and public comment on the topic for discussion shall be heard. If the hearing is set in person, all persons who wish to testify at a public hearing shall sign a list which shall be made available by the Chair of the Committee at least one-half hour before the announced time of the hearing. If the hearing is held via electronic communication, all persons who wish to testify may, but are not required to sign up in advance. Registered persons (if any) shall be called upon first, followed by participants who request to testify during the hearing.

The initial presentation of any witness shall be no longer than five minutes except with the permission of the Committee Chair, but any witness may respond to questions by members of the Committee for an additional period of time to be determined by the Committee Chair; and any witness may submit written testimony to the Committee at any time prior to the conclusion of the hearing on the bill.

Dwayne Bosman and Dwight Bosman are music makers. Whether as composers, arrangers, players or educators, these Florida A&M University music scholars occupy a distinguished and esteemed position in the world of jazz. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Dwayne and Dwight became passionate about jazz at an early age. They grew up listening to the sounds of great jazz artists like Earl “Fatha” Hines, Count Basie, Duke Ellington and their father Lloyd Smith, who was a well known businessman and a side man in Basie’s and Ellington’s orchestras. Paula V. Smith, the twins’ mother and the first African-American Administrator in the Wage and Hour Division of the U.S. Department of Labor in the Reagan Administration, was also an avid jazz lover. Influenced by famous musicians and family friends Louis Armstrong, John Coltrane and Charlie Parker, Dwayne and Dwight were performing professionally as The Bosman Twins by age 14. Over the years, they have shared their love of music and the stage with entertainment legends Freddie Cole, Branford Marsalis, Fontella Bass, Roy Ayers, David Peaston and the late trumpeter Lester Bowie. Whether performing with their own band or accompanying other jazz notables, their unique style and renditions of jazz, rhythm and blues, funk and gospel have earned them national and international acclaim.

Passion Pit Pop Michael Angelakos started Passion Pit in college as nothing more than a way to make his friends dance. The EP’s sole single, ‘Sleepyhead’, written by Angelakos in under 2 hours, became an iconic track of the aughts and has been certified 2x Platinum. The song was later featured on Passion Pit’s first full-length studio album, 'Manners', released in May of 2009. Following the release of ‘Manners’, Passion Pit became a festival staple and a fan-favorite live act. Passion Pit’s 2nd full-length album, ‘Gossamer’, was released in July of 2012. The album received much critical acclaim, reaching #4 on the US Billboard charts. The album’s lead single, ‘Take a Walk’, has been certified 2x Platinum in the US. As Rolling Stone wrote in naming ‘Take A Walk’ the 3rd best song of 2012: “…you are reminded why pop songs exist: to help mute the pain.” Three years later, Passion Pit released ‘Kindred’, peaking at #2 on the US Alternative Chart. In 2017, to raise awareness for scientific research for mental health treatment, Angelakos self-released ‘Tremendous Sea of Love’, on YouTube. The album received strong reviews from critics and fans, particularly for its masterful use of synths. Early in his career, Angelakos became a pioneer in the music industry for being an outspoken advocate for mental health, speaking publicly about his own experience living with bipolar disorder and how the industry could support artists better. Currently Passion Pit is led by Angelakos with Giuliano Pizzulo, Eric Scullin, Denzel Cox, and Ben Barter.

Sojourner—two Black men from Kansas City—purchased land that would become Lake Placid, a recreational resort and sanctuary for African Americans across Missouri. In 2021, that same land came home. During a meeting of the Board of Aldermen only the Mayor and/or their designee; the Comptroller and/or their designee; members of the Board of Aldermen and their spouses and/or immediate family members; employees of the Board of Aldermen; employees of St. Louis Development Corporation or Community Development Administration assisting an Alderman with sponsoring a bill on the floor; and the President shall be admitted to the floor of the Chamber.

Do Overs examines the roads we do and do not take through the songs of Beyonce, John Bucchino, Billy Joel, Charles Strouse, Sara Bareilles and more. If we had the chance to do things over, would we? And if we do, does that mean it will turn out better? The original version was presented in NYC at Don't Tell Mama in 2012, and has been re-imagined through a (MUCH) older and (SLIGHTLY) wiser lens. The original run received a MAC award nomination for best female vocalist. Angela will be joined by long-time collaborator Brett Kristofferson, an award winning composer and MD who also penned two of the songs. Angela Shultz is a MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs) Award winning singer, member of Actors' Equity Association and teaching artist who has appeared in cabaret clubs across NYC and was part of the 100thAnniversary national tour of Titanic as Alice Beane. She appeared in NYC productions including Assassins (Sara Jane Moore) This Very Moment (Stomping Ground Theatre), Making God and Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (Midtown Int’l Festival), and A Casual Gathering (Theatre for the New City). She also has many regional credits including Closer Than Ever (Miss Byrd), Titanic (Alice Beane) and has been in several incarnations of Nunsense! Most recently she played the iconic Dolly Levi in Hello Dolly for McLeod Summer Playhouse. A Missouri native, Angela holds a Master of Fine Arts in Directing from University of Memphis, a Master of Arts in Theatre Education from Fontbonne University and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Missouri Baptist University. She has taught UofM, Playhouse on the Square, Fontbonne University, Jefferson College, as well as NYC’s Professional Performing Arts School, Wingspan Arts, Stages St. Louis and others. Angela is the co-founder of Stomping Ground Theatre Company, NYC. Currently she is in her fourth year at Southern Illinois University this fall as Director of the BFA in Musical Theater! Brett Kristofferson is a multi-faceted artist and educator. He has worked with young performing artists for over two decades as vocal instructor, musical director, acting instructor, director, and audition coach. Partner organizations have included Professional Performing Arts School, Wingspan Arts, Inc., Marymount Manhattan College, and Rosie O’Donnell’s Rosie’s Theater Kids in New York City. Recently he has been a guest instructor at University of Missouri, Columbia and adjunct professor at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri. His music and lyrics have been recognized with Manhattan Association of Cabaret and Clubs (MAC) Awards in both Best Song and Comedy/Novelty Song categories, as well as a Bistro Award for Special Achievement in Songwriting. Closer Than You Think, a musical play for which he wrote book, music, and lyrics, was premiered in New York City by Strange Sun Theatre Company. His song cycle, This Very Moment, was produced in NYC and St. Louis by Stomping Ground Theatre Company. As theaters were closed during the summer of2020, University of Missouri, Columbia produced a streaming revue of his work entitled, "So Near, So Far."

Card Magic at the Link

Students will learn foundational shuffles and sleights to build their confidence while handling cards, along with easy yet impressive card effects and tricks that will allow them to look like seasoned pros in no time. The course will also explore presentation tips and strategies for creating routines so that your audience is always on the edge of their seat! We don’t just teach tricks to amaze friends, family and strangers - we help each student develop interpersonal and communication skills that benefit them in all facets of life. No experience is necessary and all required materials are provided!
