Paul Cauthen

Paul Cauthen
Alternative Country
Whether he knows it or not, every man lives by a code. And for country provocateur Paul Cauthen, that code is simple. Always bet on yourself. A singer-songwriter with a well-documented distaste for playing by anyone else’s rules, the East Texas native spent two decades clawing his way through the country underground, embodying the independent spirit with a monolithic Big Velvet vocal. Fusing classic-country grit, gospel power, and a rhinestoned rock edge, four previous albums proclaimed his singular style with a booming baritone and near-biblical swagger. Taught to sing by his grandfather in a Church of Christ, Cauthen hit the scene with the duo Sons of Fathers in 2009, before My Gospel, Room 41, Country Coming Down, and Black on Black unveiled a vulnerable, fire-and-brimstone songwriter with brazen Texas attitude – craving deliverance, yet possessed by a “bird dog” instinct for theatrical rapture. Cauthen has toured the world, collaborating with Margo Price, Orville Peck, Cody Jinks, and Lana Del Rey. And with favorites like “Cocaine Country Dancing,” “Fuck You Money,” and his GOLD-certified collab with Shaboozey on “Last Of My Kind,” he counts 442 million global streams. Cauthen’s fifth album, Book of Paul, takes him further down his path of utterly authentic country music; fearless, proud, and with two middle fingers in the air. Co-writing 12 of 13 tracks, the troubadour confesses to his wild side and wrestles with the sin. He spares no detail – and makes no compromise.

Beth Bombara and Sam Golden

Ladies Of The Canyon: The Music of Joni Mitchell and Beyond. Join us for an evening celebrating songs from the Laurel Canyon era of the late 60’s. Musicians Beth Bombara and Sam Golden join forces to take us on a journey of song inspired by this time in history.
St. Louis-based singer-songwriter Beth Bombara has spent over 10 years crafting original music that critics have compared to the greats of the very era she's celebrating tonight. American Songwriter Magazine, No Depression, and NPR have all praised her for songs that feel rooted in a timeless tradition of honest, guitar-driven storytelling. A musician and songwriter with five albums to her name, Beth brings the same emotional depth and musical sensitivity to the songs that shaped her as she brings to her own. She's joined by Sam Golden — multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and musical collaborator extraordinaire — who brings his own rich performance history to the stage on piano, guitar, and whatever else the evening calls for. Together, they're setting aside Beth's own catalog to pay tribute to the women and writers of Laurel Canyon — the voices that lit the path.

Jimmy Keane and Pat Broaders - bohola

"One of the most impressive debut recordings ever by an Irish traditional music group.” - The Irish Voice
"Though most of the tunes bohola plays are well over 150 years old, the music comes across more vibrant than ever….” - The Courier News
“bohola have crafted an album of intricate, nearly invisible latticework, relying not on gimmickry but on imagination and vision.” - The Irish Echo
Irish music accordion virtuoso Jimmy Keane (The Irish Rovers) and the remarkable bouzar player and vocalist Pat Broaders - ACLSR Winner Male Vocalist of the Year - (Open the Door for Three) - comprise bohola, Irish music's newest "supergroup", as penned by The Irish Herald. bohola play a driving, muscular, and very emotive style of Irish music with deep roots in the 'pure drop' tradition, infused with the raw, gritty and urbanized musical vernacular of the Irish and Irish-American experience.
Event Type: Community Event
When: Friday, August 21, 2026 at 07:30 PM
Location: Blue Strawberry
Neighborhood: City-Wide
Ward: Many Wards
Admission: Charge. $25.00
Contact: Jim Dolan
Contact Phone:

George Murphy exploded onto the Irish music scene after his appearances on the RTE Television show “You’re a Star.” Just out of secondary school at age 17, he signed to Sony Ireland and his debut album ‘Dreamed A Dream’ went to No.1 in the Irish charts. Gorge is as gifted a storyteller as he is a singer. As a member of The High Kings, he toured internationally with them for two years, performing lead vocals on on classic ballads like “Raglan Road” and “Sweet Sixteen.” He has toured and collaborated with The Dubliners as a special guest. In 2019, he left The High Kings to front his own band, The Rising Sons. George is a much-in-demand headliner at festivals, and continues to perform in pubs and intimate listening rooms all over Ireland. His performance at Blue Strawberry features Sebastian McLaughlin on Banjo and Mandolin, and is comprised of George’s favorite trad Irish songs, as well as some originals.
Originally from Donegal, Sebastian McLaughlin is now a Long Island–based multi-instrumentalist specializing in Irish traditional music on tenor banjo and mandolin. He draws influence from Americana, bluegrass, folk, punk, rock, and blues. Coming from a musical family, he is related to renowned traditional musicians Martin Tourish and Ciarán Tourish of Altan. Originally rooted in rock and punk guitar, Sebastian discovered Irish music through bands such as The Pogues, The Popes, and the songwriting of Shane MacGowan. Those influences led him to the tenor banjo and helped shape a distinctive musical style that blends authentic Irish trad with the energy and attitude of punk and folk-rock. He has performed throughout the United States, Ireland, Sweden, and Switzerland with bands including Duffy’s Cut, Streams of Whiskey, Dark Streets, East River Crossing, Mickey Finn’s, George Murphy, earning a reputation for energetic live performances and a unique crossover approach to traditional Irish music.
Event Type: Community Event
When: Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 07:30 PM
Location: Blue Strawberry
Neighborhood: City-Wide
Ward: Many Wards
Admission: Charge. $20.00
Contact: bluestrawberrystl@gmail.com
Contact Phone:

Conor Mallon

Many of us know Conor Mallon from his successful tours of the US with the band Connla. While Connla is still a focus for Conor, the shutdown gave him time to work on a solo project that had been percolating for years. The result was, “Unearthed”, a beautiful album that honors tradition while exploring the potential of the Uilleann pipes. Already a favorite showcasing band, Conor is taking Unearthed on the road.
“Unearthed has a number of meanings to me, Says Conor, in relation to this project; unearthing my own solo adventure with the project, unearthing the many unique sounds of the Uilleann Pipes and using them in combination as a percussive element within my own original compositions. ‘Unearthed’ nods to traditions from the past, cast from deep passion and respect, to push boundaries of innovation and creativity whilst never losing sight of the source. I composed and recorded original contemporary Irish music alongside more common repertoire, and used the authentic and unique sounds of the Irish Uilleann Pipes as programming samples-as percussion and rhythm underneath the melody of the track.”
Conor Mallon, from Keady, Co. Armagh, started his musical career with the Armagh Pipers Club where he attended Uilleann Pipe lessons. He has progressed through ranks to become one of the senior teachers at the club before he began touring full time. He has been taught by many pipers over the years and they include Tiarnan O Duinnchinn and Jarlath Henderson. Conor has been categorized as the one leading pipers in his generation as described by folking.com, “In the week that we learned of the passing of Liam O’Flynn it was apposite to hear Conor Mallon leading the next generation of Uilleann pipe players.”
Conor was the first recipient of the ACNI/BBC NI Young Traditional Musicians Platform award and subsequently was a guest musician with the Ulster Orchestra and with the award winning Foden’s Brass Band. Conor is a Senior County, Ulster and All-Ireland Champion on Uilleann Pipes in the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and has won many other awards including the Uilleann Piping Scholarship by the Na Píobairí Uilleann Dublin in 2008 and was the first recipient of the Mark Donnelly Bursary for Uilleann Piping Award in 2010.

Mindy Smith

“Her voice carves melodies so sharp and fine you can almost see them…” — The New York Times
“Smith’s best songs sound like little miracles.” — USA Today
Mindy Smith is a Long Island-born, Nashville-based singer-songwriter whose unmistakable voice and emotionally direct songwriting have made her one of Americana music’s most beloved artists. With a clear and honest passion for Americana, folk, pop, jazz, rock, blues, and roots music, Smith has built a career defined by songs that are intimate, timeless, and deeply vulnerable.
Smith first reached an international audience in 2003 with her haunting rendition of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” for the star-studded tribute album Just Because I’m a Woman, later performing the song with Parton on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Her acclaimed debut album, One Moment More, followed on Vanguard Records and introduced signature songs including “Come to Jesus,” which became her biggest commercial hit, earning rare cross-format airplay at country, AAA, and adult contemporary radio, while reaching No. 32 on Billboard’s Adult Top 40 chart. Its reach spoke to the song’s emotional pull far beyond any single genre.
An Americana Music Association award winner and Dove-nominated songwriter, Smith has sold more than 750,000 albums and singles and amassed more than 175 million streams to date. Her songs have been recorded by Alison Krauss, Lee Ann Womack, Faith Hill, Amy Grant, and more. She has performed with or toured alongside Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss, John Prine, Nickel Creek, and Mary Chapin Carpenter. She has also appeared more than 20 times on the Grand Ole Opry and performed at major festivals including Newport Folk Festival, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, MerleFest, Cambridge Folk Festival, Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo, and South by Southwest.
A Mindy Smith concert is an intimate, emotional, and often surprisingly funny evening. Audiences can expect the songs they love, selections from Quiet Town, stories from a remarkable career, and the kind of vocal performance that can make a room go completely still. A good rule of thumb: bring a tissue. You may need it for the sad songs, the beautiful ones, and the laughter in between.

EZ BAND
Mexican Ranchera
EZ Band’s story begins with Agustin, Jaime’s father, who laid the foundation for the group’s passion for music by singing on buses in Mexico. Accompanied by Nacho on the accordion, Agustin would travel around Mexico, playing music on buses to make a living and share their art with passengers. At the age of 17, Agustin learned to play the bajosexto from Atilano Ochoa of Los Montañeses del Alamo, deepening his connection to the rich musical traditions that would later shape EZ Band. He passed down his love for music to his family, shaping the path that led to the formation of the band.

Derek Warfield & The Young Wolfe Tones

After nearly forty years as founder, leader, and front-man of the legendary Wolfe Tones, Derek Warfield continues to carry Ireland’s musical heritage forward with The Young Wolfe Tones—a dynamic ensemble dedicated to preserving and re-energizing the Irish ballad tradition for a new generation.
Formed in 2008, the group unites Warfield’s decades of experience with the exceptional talents of Damaris Woods (banjo), Eddie Kane (vocals, guitar), Andreas Durkin (keyboards, vocals), Paddy McGrandles (whistles, flute, vocals), and Brent Hopper (vocals, guitar). Together, they bring Ireland’s songs of heritage, emigration, and rebellion to life with spirited harmonies, skilled instrumentation, and storytelling deeply rooted in history.
From festival stages to intimate theatres, Derek Warfield & The Young Wolfe Tones captivate audiences with performances that are both entertaining and educational. Their concerts blend historical narrative, humor, and musicianship—celebrating Ireland’s struggles and triumphs through timeless ballads and original compositions. The band’s recordings and international tours have won them acclaim as one of the most vibrant groups performing Irish folk and rebel music today.
As the official biography notes, Warfield’s “fifty years of experience, coupled with the talent and energy of The Young Wolfe Tones, brings the old tradition of Irish balladry into a new age. The story of Ireland is transmitted in their music and song and illuminated by the outstanding musicianship of a new generation.”

Terry Jones Rogers & Friends

Terry Jones Rogers is best known in the St Louis Metro Area, as one half of ROGERS & NIENHAUS, Band or Duo, as well as a founding member of 4&20~CSNY Tribute, The Real Macaws (including OMD Supe Granda), and former member of The Byrds featuring Michael Clarke. Terry grew up in the music rich town of Macon, GA and began his musical journey at the age of 5 years old performing with his family gospel group. Numerous bands followed through his time in Macon, including many years with The Pound & Rogers Band, recording at Capricorn Studio with famed producer Paul Hornsby and later at Pyramid Studio in Chattanooga, TN with British producer Michael Stewart. In November of 1993, Terry relocated to Nashville, TN, where he soon formed The Byrds Celebration with Skip Battin, following the untimely passing of Michael Clarke. Acting on a recommendation by Supe Granda, Scott Nienhaus was invited to join the newly formed group which included Skip Battin’s old bandmate Gene Parsons and they soon embarked on an extensive European Tour. In 2006, Terry once again relocated, this time to St Louis, MO after Nienhaus returned there to his hometown. A decades long singer-songwriter, Terry is dedicated to his craft and will be performing original music as well as a few favorite covers by his numerous influences through the years. Accompanied by 2 great local musicians, Bill Murphy on piano and accordion and David Torretta on bass guitar, this is a not to be missed and rare performance! Terry will be joined by some great musicians for this show including Bill Murphy, David Torretta, Aaron Burblow and Chris Fabick.
Event Type: Community Event
When: Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 07:30 PM
Location: Blue Strawberry
Neighborhood: City-Wide
Ward: Many Wards
Admission: Charge. 20
Contact: Jim Dolan 314-256-1745
Contact Phone:

Pat Byrne

“When you combine the transcendent poetry of Bob Dylan with the gritty, real-world rock-n-roll storytelling Bruce Springsteen made so famous, and add a dash of the political activism embodied by Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger, you’ll have Irish singer-songwriter Pat Byrne.” - Folk Alley at 30A Songwriters Festival An Irish singer-songwriter, Pat Byrne has come a long way since his first deal with Universal. In late 2017, Byrne began his migration to Austin, Texas. In 2019, Pat took the US by storm, with breakout performances at the 30A Festival, SXSW, Kerrville Folk Festival and the Americana Festival. Being immersed in the Texas music scene, Pat's sophomore US release, Into the Light, had an edgier feel underscoring both emotional depth and greater confidence, while blending new influences with his rich Irish heritage. “The raspy melodic soul of Byrne’s voice recalls the emotional spells the late Austin troubadour Jimmy LaFave used to cast, though Byrne’s songwriting bears a distinctive Irish stamp. He’s more contemporary than strict traditionalists, putting him more in the league of Glen Hansard or Luka Bloom.” - Peter Blackstock, The Austin American Statesman
Event Type: Community Event
When: Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 07:30 PM
Location: Blue Strawberry
Neighborhood: City-Wide
Ward: Many Wards
Admission: Charge. 20
Contact: Jim Dolan 314-256-1745
Contact Phone:

Lady Bunny in Big Wig Energy

An Evening Of Questionable Taste
Big Wig Energy: An Evening Of Questionable Taste is drag star Lady Bunny’s latest one woman show. It’s filled with her trademark filthy pop parodies and raunchy one-liners. And of course, you’ll get your fill of the latest Drag Race and celebrity gossip! You’ll hear new parodies of artists from Beyonce to Bruno Mars to Chappell Roan.
In light of crackdowns on LGBT rights, Bunny’s decided to be more out, proud and loud than ever. So this show features an entire medley dedicated to kink, and a reworked version of Lady Gaga’s gay anthem “Born This Way”. Both songs celebrate the gay community while lightly teasing them.
In addition to parodies, Bunny showcases several of her original tunes. One rips on Elon Musk, and another song laughably pretends that Bunny has only just discovered bottoming at age 63. Another, which has proven to be a crowd fave, covers the downside of losing weight on Ozempic.
With “dancing” and “singing”, gut-busting parodies and fab costumes, Big Wig Energy proves why Vogue magazine described Lady Bunny by saying “Some people were just meant to be the life of the party.”

Royce Martin - Swagtime

Swagtime
Royce Martin returns to Blue Strawberry to present a new genre of music he calls Swagtime. Blending the athletic, striding groove of his left hand with intricate melodic exploration in his right, we find Royce rapping over and around ragtime and jazz. It's a ragtime-jazz-hip hop orchestra conducted by Royce at the piano. It’s Scott Joplin, Charlie Parker, Metro Boomin and Smino all rowing one boat.
Swagtime looks to reclaim a Black, St. Louis music tradition. In the early 20th century, St. Louis was the epicenter of ragtime. Royce looks to recharge and remake ragtime, overlaying it with a witty, poetic rap lyricism. He wants to create a new place for this St. Louis sound at the forefront of musical innovation, and aims to return the virtuoso performer to popular music, and no less to return a foundational genre of American music to popular acclaim. This concert wants to be seminal.
Royce Martin is a pianist and composer from St. Louis, who taught himself piano at age 14 on a small keyboard. By 18, he was the in-house pianist at Scott Joplin House State Historic Site, the former home of the “King of Ragtime.” He returned there between semesters while in college and recorded his debut album Memories on Morgan Street: Scott Joplin Reimagined in 2023.? In 2024, John McWhorter of The New York Times described his pianism as “sly, relatable, and brilliant.”
Royce studied Film Scoring at Berklee College of Music and has since composed original scores for platforms including HBO and Hulu. He continues to push musical boundaries through Swagtime, a new genre he pioneered that fuses ragtime stride, bebop, and poetic rap into a new form of storytelling.
Event Type: Community Event
When: Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 07:30 PM
Location: Blue Strawberry
Neighborhood: City-Wide
Ward: Many Wards
Admission: Charge. $20.00
Contact: 314-256-1745
Contact Phone:
