We tried the new seafood joint that opened near us, “Jimmy’s Island Grille” which was decent (I’d probably still opt for Pappadeaux.)

My wonderful, amazing, awesome, beautiful, intelligent, funny, best in the world wife said I could pick *1* Cthulhu themed ‘thing’ for our kidlet. I think she’ll veto the above picture though.

This week we fit in not 1 kidlet classes but 2! ‘Childbirth Basis 101′ and ‘Beyond Basics 102′ which will be fun because ‘Baby Care Basics 101′ will actually be next week. Though taking them out of order is probably the only safe way to make sure we get them done before our little bundle of joy shows up.

This is worth a watch just for the entertainment of the book that Jacob Kier and D.L. Snellunder are putting out as co-authors under the pen name of David Jacob Knight. Yes the book being done under a pen name is being called The Pen Name. It’s already written, they are just trying to snag some more marketing and I believe with the above video and This Kickstarter they are going to have a pretty solid chance of pulling it off.

So my amazing wife said I could pick out *1* Cthulhu based ‘thing’ for our kid and wasn’t really more specific past that on what it could (or couldn’t) be! Over the past year I’ve been increasing obsessed with the madness created by Lovecraft and have been wondering what new ways to bring it into the house (now that I’m temporarily without an office to use shelves to display neat ‘things’) and have been running out of ways.

Until now.

While I’m rather partial to the outfit above I think that may just cross a line. She tolerates my Lovecraft interests but there’s a limit to the amount of horror she lets me indulge in.

So if this one is off the table let’s see what my other potential options are shall we?

The most obvious choice: My First Cthulhu Plush

Our kidlet will already be getting a My First Bacon (Thank you Geekpoints!) so why not a My First Cthulhu to ease our child into a world full of baby causing doom?

Even an elder god was a cute baby once, right?

One of our favorite cartoons of the 80s was “Cthulhu Babies!” Remember all the fun adventures Baby Cthulhu, Baby Nyarlathotep. and all the other babies had? That time they devoured Nanny’s soul and then did a musical number pretending they were characters in “Raiders of the Lost Ark” – priceless. Ah . . . we love remembering memories. Anywho, now you can finally share the abject horror and cuteness of Baby Cthulhu with your kids when you buy My First Cthulhu Plush.

My First Cthulhu Plush is super soft and super huggable. Designed for the young ones (to get them in the cult early), these plush are safety tested for ages 3 and up. That means your wee ones can learn about the Old Ones as soon as they are able to really run away in fear. Full of loves and hugs and power and terror beyond comprehension, My First Cthulhu Plush want to come home with you today!

Second runner up would be the Cthulhu Nom Onsie!

The never ending appetite for human souls that Cthulhu suffers from could also be thought of as the never ending appetite for destruction caused by babies and kids everywhere. Maybe in that case another option would be to focus on something to wear to show exactly how destructive our child may prove to be? This onesie over from Etsy might be just what the doctor ordered!

Does your little monster love to sleep and eat? He has quite a bit in common with Cutie Cthulhu!

This image is printed in GREEN on a short sleeved WHITE 100% cotton Gerber baby one piece with three metal snaps.

For faster processing, please indicate the size you would prefer during checkout. Size options are:

Newborn
0-3months
3-6 months
6-9 months
12 months
18 months
24 months

More Cthuluhu Onsie Madness!

Sticking with the Onsie idea there is also a Baby Cthulhu onsie from Red Bubble

The fearsome Cthulhu, denizen of the deep! Cuter and rounder than it’s namesake, this little Baby Cthulhu can now scare off evil doers everywhere you go!

So those are the 3 top picks for me on what Cthulhu item to get for our impending Babypocalypse. It’s under a month away from happening so we’ll see which ends up being chosen!
