Just a few photos from another wee shoot I did. I wanted this make-up to focus mostly on strong contours of the face, and added the gold leaf/blue lipstick for extra drama.
I didn't use eyeliner or mascara for this look, so it's pretty simple to do, i'm really happy with the outcome though :)

Wee update; I recently binned my horrid second hand blackberry and became part of the iphone community, meaning I have instagram! (Why am i so excited by this..) I never used to be interested in it but I've had it 4 days and am addicted! So follow me as i'll be posting everything beauty related/unrelated.. everything.

Also I've currently started my Graded Unit in college so am pretty stressed trying to organise everything for that. We have to plan and carry out three photoshoots inspired by a company with a heavy involvement in the make-up industry. I've chosen Illamasqua because quite clearly I enjoy quirkier make-up looks! :) If you're doing something similar then let me know and we'll help each other out!

I can't wait do actually do the make-up for my shoots though and hopefully get some good pictures :)

Followers of my blog will know I've not posted in... forever. I'm really sorry, I've been tweeting loads though so if you still enjoy me as a human being follow me there! @clairehuskie

I started a HNC Make-up Artistry course this year and through doing so much make-up at college I lost my blogging mojo. I've got a shoot planned soon though so will obviously put the photo's on here. Also planning a 'What's in my kit' post.. if anyone is interested... ? :)

At college we've been focusing mostly on basic make-up, and hairdressing which I find an absolute nightmare. Who knew hair was so hard to style?.. Trying my best!
Starting special effects make-up this week which i'm so excited about, will definitely post if I learn any tips and different techniques. Most likely will learn a lot more than I have from my self taught endeavours...

Continuing however to transform myself into weird creatures in the comfort of my bedroom for now. Happy Huski.

Also, I turned 21 in October, getting on a bit. Constant excuses! But making it my New Years Resolution to be a good blogger again... :)

Since every girl and their grandmother on the planet right now seems to be longing for their own Mr Grey. (Why?) I had to write why in fact it's a horrible book. I couldn't even get through the first one.

1. 'My inner goddess' ... WTF. A phrase constantly used by Anastasia Steele when she is feeling at her most...sexual. What age is she really, 70?

2. The tampon scene. No words.

3. 'Laters, baby' This is the way Christian Grey chooses to say goodbye to Anastasia the majority of times. Who would say this in normal life? It makes him look stupid and certainly not cool.
4. 'My sex'. Still confused about this one.
5. Ana changes from virgin to porno star within a few days.

6. Her annoying sex words. 'Oh my', 'Please...' -Have some self respect.

7. When Christian says 'My sweet girl' *shudders*

8. 'Foil packet' Why call it this. WHY.

9. All she ever does is go on about how 'hot' he is. 'Oh he's so beautiful' 'He really is a fine specimen of a man' Shut up.

10.“I’ll agree to the fisting, but I’d really like to claim your ass, Anastasia”

11. A sex contract? What the hell. Why is this needed? Who wouldn't run a mile if their boyfriend asked them to sign such a thing? Clarifies that Ana has mental problems. Or is just really desperate for a man.
12. The tampon scene. So disturbing it has to be mentioned twice.

Hiiiii blogging readers! I know i've not posted in AGES. I don't have an excuse though. I've not been busy. I've just been lazy.

I wanted a blog break.

Thanks to everyone for continuing to follow me despite my lack of posts!

Today I decided to do a makeover on my sister.

Her make-up is always really simple, so I wanted to go dramatic. Maybe this is a little TOWIE inspired, without the orange tan...

This was the wee set up I had. I didn't actually use too much make-up. A lot of black eye-shadow though!. I also curled her hair using my remington pearl wand.

Let me know if you like it, I'm planning another dramatic make-up look soon so I will try not to take another hiatus! I'm also starting college next month to study make-up artistry, so might do some updates on how everything's going with that if you're interested... :)

Not your typical Going Out Make-up...

Hey guys, back with another scary look to add to the collection.

This one took me a pretty long time. I pre-made the bald cap in order to make it all grotesque at the weekend! (Also added the hair).

The rest of the make-up I did today in about 4 and a half hours.

I am aware that I didn't 'make-up' my ears, I was in a rush to get the pics taken in daylight though!

Living with waist length hair...

People alwaysssssss want to know WHY my hair is so long, haha. I think it's just the type of hair that grows at an alarming rate. OR it could be that I never bloody get it cut...

I also feel I should say that I stopped using conditioner in my hair about 3 years ago.

I did this for 2 reasons.

1) I read in a book that conditioner is the 'hair killer' for girls with long straight hair...

2) It takes me so long to shampoo my hair and rinse it out properly that I could never be bothered to condition it afterwards.

After a while though I started to miss the feel of super silky hair and decided to buy a conditioning product. I bought the 'Hello Hydration: Deep Nourishing Intensive Mask' from Herbal Essences.

What It Claims to do:

"I'm a deep hair hydro-treatment for very dry, damaged hair. Step this way to hydration heaven and say "Super-shine me!" give me 1 minute to do my stuff, and rinse me away. For best results, let's get together 2-3 times a week "

My views:
PROS

Left my hair feeling very soft.
Looked shiny, but not greasy. SCORE
Smells amazing. The scent stays in my hair for a good couple of days.
A small amount is enough to fully cover my hair (Just below roots, to tips)

CONS:

Don't like the tub, I always end up getting a little water in the product, annoying!

* My hair, after being shampooed and conditioned using the Herbal Essences Mask. Then blow dried straight*

The second product I'm going to be talking about, which I absolutely LOVE, is the Tangle Teezer.
One major issue with having extra long locks is that it gets tangled in an instant. I have endured many a painful hair brushing session. The Tangle Teezer definitely makes brushing through knots easier.

PROS:

Removes tugs and knots in hair easily with just a few brush strokes.
Can be used on wet or dry hair
Gentle on the hair, doesn't cause breakages or splitting
Noticeable difference in hair shininess.

CONS:

Not really a con, but sometimes I feel a handle on the Tangle Teezer would be beneficial, for a better grip.

Overall, I really like both of these products and would recommend them. You can get The Tangle Teezer from Amazon, Ebay, Boots, (lots of places basically!), and it costs on average just under £10.
The Herbal Essences Hair Mask I purchased from Boots for £2.03, oh, and I use it twice a week :)
