Ms. Crocco is one of just five graduating college students from across the United States to be awarded the prestigious fellowship.

Ms. Crocco will spend five months in Turin, Italy, and five months in Lagos, Nigeria, studying the trafficking of Nigerian women to Italy for sexual exploitation. She plans to collaborate with the United Nations Crime and Research Institute in Turin and the African Radio Drama Association in Lagos during her Fellowship year.

A Deans List student at Clark, Ms. Crocco majors in Government/International Relations and International Development. She pursues a minor in French and is fluent in Italian. Her extra-curricular activities have included Student Council, Student Representative to the Clark University Board of Trustees Shareholders Responsibility Committee, Model U.N., and Model European Union. She works as a driver/dispatcher for the University escort van service, and she has worked in Italy as a translator for the World Wildlife Fund and as a tour guide. She expects to return to Clark University following her travels to earn a Masters Degree in International Development.

The Compton Mentor Fellowship Program is the only Compton Foundation program with a focus on graduating college students from the United States. The program is designed to promote creativity and support the commitment of graduating seniors as they move beyond academic preparation to real world application and contribution.

Each year, five Mentor Fellows are selected from participating universities and awarded a one-year, $35,000 fellowship. The stipend is to implement a self-directed project, contributing their talents and energy to real-world situations. At the core of the Fellowship is the partnership between a fellow and a mentor, who provides guidance, encouragement and impetus for continued learning and service.
...

Commencement 2007, Honorary degree recipients announced

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

In addition, he was the codiscoverer of Ebola, in 1976, thereby providing for the containment of the epidemic. His dedication to social justice and world health has served the impoverished, and his leadership continues to determine the quality of care provided for the needy. The united front of anti-AIDS organizations, as well as the majority of government aid in this area, has been attributed directly to Piots leadership. He has encouraged scores of countries to improve their AIDS prevention, education, and treatment programs, and he continues to develop creative solutions to the epidemic. Piot will receive the Doctor of Humane Letters degree.

He attended the University, but was unable to complete his studies for a degree due to service in the Korean War. After becoming successful in the business sector, Ross became a civic leader in every community he touched. His leadership of so many community organizations is a shining example of responsible citizenship. He has been recognized by virtually every community he has served. Of particular note, he received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Worcester Academy, where he has been one of those alumni whose generosity has helped elevate the school to a new level. Ross epitomizes the civic leader who makes a positive difference in his community. In addition to his community leadership, Ross pioneered the marketing of health and life insurance through payroll deduction, which made insurance considerably more accessible for employees. He will receive the Doctor of Humane Letters degree.

Boy its great being you. Your identity may be the most important thing you own in this world of digital communication and global email dialogue. Identity theft has made a disturbing jump from 90s sci-fi nightmare to legitimate problem in recent years. While there are obvious ways to keep your identity safe such as having a strong password on your bank account there are also subtle ways that many people overlook. One of the most important of these takes place on <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Clarks campus each and every day. It is very important to log out of computers on the Clark campus when you are done using them. Just walking away from a computer with your username on it allows anyone who sits at that computer to view anything on your file share, and in some cases your email account. Making sure to log out when you are done using a computer on campus is an easy and quick thing you can do to make sure your information and identity stay safe.
