This Milano Gold features Verde phone dial wheels and an Ansa exhaust, but seems stock otherwise. At just under 50k miles, it is one of the lower mile Milanos we've seen recently, and the asking price reflects that. With proper care, it is possible to preserve the current excellent condition, so we wouldn't worry too much about packing miles onto this one.

The seller claims that timing belt and water pump have been serviced but does not provide a date of when the service was performed. The fuel system was gone through completely, and the brakes were serviced including new pads, rotors, and calipers. Based on this, the car sounds ready to go. The seller mentions that slight adjustments might be required, but that's nothing to worry about with these cars.

We bought our Verde with relatively low miles and we have stayed on top of maintenance. As a result, the ownership experience hasn't been a battle against deferred maintenance. A Milano is the rare sports sedan that makes for an entertaining weekend driver, and the red color here adds to the status as a weekend car. We don't know if the market is ready for $15,000 Milano Golds, but we think the asking price isn't too far off what we would pay for an example this nice.

This 2004 Maserati Coupé GT is finished in black over black leather and is powered by a replacement 4.2-liter V8 paired with a six-speed manual transaxle. The car was originally delivered to The Collection of Coral Gables, Florida, and later moved to Michigan, where it was acquired by the seller in 2017. The car had an engine replacement at 33k miles, so the new engine has just 16k miles on it. We replaced the heater core with a Saab aluminum unit in summer of 2020, and changed the coolant and engine oil and filter at that time. We installed new Michelin tires at around 43k miles and repaired both window regulator pins. The car has minor paint imperfections and stone chips, but the car shows very well.

We hope that the next owner can enjoy the car as much as we did, and continues to keep it in great shape. Enjoy the final day of the auction!

Lancia also offered the Thema in 8.32 form with a 2.9L Ferrari V8, so why bother with the V6? Head to Youtube to find out, or just take our word for it: the Busso V6 sounds better than the detuned Ferrari V8. Add to that the serviceability of the Alfa power plant compared to the Ferrari unit, the major price discount, and the sleeper appeal, and the case for the Thema V6 is strong.

Sadly, this car has been converted to LPG fueling. We don't know what the long term effects of such a conversion will be, but seeing as Busso V6s aren't exactly in short supply, it's probably worth the risk. Converting back to gasoline power will require some junkyard digging for fuel lines and other fuel system components, we would imagine, so factor that into the price if you're compelled to make an offer on this one.

This Thema V6 is the type of car we like to feature here. It's from a storied brand, has an interesting history involving a collaborative effort between four automakers, and it has a rare engine option. What's more, it is affordable as Italian cars come. Is this example worth importing to North America? Possibly. We think it could clean up well. Just imagine a long trip in this thing, dropping down to fourth to pass slower traffic and soaking in the countryside in comfort.

We will ignore our stubborn insistence on manual transmissions for the sake of this example, because other than the auto trans, it is a perfect 164 LS spec to us. A 1994 model would be non-EGR, which makes service slightly easier. The green exterior over tan interior is one of our favorite color combinations, and anyone who hasn't experienced the leather on a 164 owes it themselves to check it out - it's seriously nice leather for a mass-produced sedan. Euro headlights and the wood steering wheel are nice (expensive) additions that we really like to see.

1995 Alfa Romeo 164LS in Alfa Verde with Camel leather interior. Normal dings and dents, but absolutely no rust anywhere. Car has 112k miles on 24V 3.0 V6. All gauges and lights work, as does power windows and moonroof. Car runs and shifts smoothly, no issues. Starts right up on first try, no smoke. This example is overdue for a timing belt service, if you ask us. At the same time, it's priced fairly, so whether you have a shop complete the service (think $1,200-1,500 with parts) or do it yourself (closer to $600-800 if you replace all of the idlers and tensioner / pulley), you'll be in ok shape. The 164 isn't known to rust severely, and the claim of no rust on this example is believable but would need to be verified. HVAC stepper motors can be an issue on these, so we would ask the seller if those have been addressed yet.

Berlinas are going up in price and Giulias haven't been cheap in a long time. But you can still buy a clean 164 for $3,500, and that's something to enjoy while it lasts. What's better is that we don't think the 164 will every become a collector item, leaving these to be enjoyed by anyone with the dedication to keep one on the road. If we were in the market for an auto 164 LS, we would seriously consider this example.

From the shape, to the cool 90s details like the body color on the door panels, to the headlight and taillight designs, to the white gauges - everything on the Barchetta is designed with an attention to detail that is rare in cars today. It's not surprising that a red car located in Spain for a number of years would require a repaint. Looking under the hood, though, we question the skill of the painter just given amount of careless overspray. It can be cleaned up in an hour or so, but it makes you question where else the paint shop rushed their work. Fortunately, the car is claimed to be rust-free, and it's not too hard to believe that claim. Overall, the condition appears to be excellent, overspray aside.

Given the mileage and non-original paint, we have a lower price point in mind. That said, keep in mind that the seller has taken care of the difficult task of sourcing the car and importing it to the US. We think there is value in the car being available in the US, so we do take that in consideration with pricing. If you can get this car for a price that works for you, we don't think you'll be disappointed with the car itself.

Starting with the handsome 156, Alfa Romeo added 17" wheels, a lower suspension, and aggressive bodywork to get to GTA form. The engine is the 3.2L variant of the Busso V6 - the last to be produced in the Arese plant, not far from where this example is offered for sale. Suspension tuning is altered, with revised sway bars, springs and shocks. Like most in the 156 range, the front wheels are driven, and that limits the track appeal for many.

Our favorite detail on this example is the Selespeed automated manual transmission. While we have trouble warming up to any automatic, the automated manual has some allure. The Ferrari F1 systems, introduced on the F355, offered a way to experience F1 technology in a road car, clunky though they were; the Selespeed system offered up that Ferrari and F1 experience in a humble Alfa Romeo.

As with any Busso V6, timing belt service is the biggest item to keep an eye on. The service can be expensive when completed with OEM parts, so it is always nice to see a recent timing belt in the service history. We see no indication of one here, so best to ask. Aside from the timing belt, keep in mind that the 156 was developed on a different magnitude of budget from contemporary European sports sedans, so be prepared for many minor frustrations along the way.

As the seller states, this car is one of 348 examples of the 156 GTA Selespeed sedan, making it somewhat of a rarity. To us, there is something so appealing about the aggressive bodywork and the highly unnecessary automated manual paired with the hottest Busso V6 to be sold in a street car. We'll be checking back in on these in 6-7 years when they become eligible for import to the US.

We like the mystery of this one. How many miles since the engine rebuild? Which parts were used? Where were the synchros for the trans rebuild sourced? Were the floors the only rust items to address, or maybe the only items that the seller had the heart to dig into? With the automotive internet humming along, the answers to these questions would normally be offered by the seller. This listing harkens back to a time when I think people went out on a limb more when purchasing something like this.

This GTV is finished in green over tan vinyl and is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a factory limited-slip differential. Modifications: 15″ Panasport wheels, Car was converted from the factory SPICA fuel injection to dual Weber carburetors during prior ownership and an electronic ignition was added, and it is said to be fitted with performance camshafts from International Auto Parts of Charlottesville, Virginia. It does seem to be a very decent example as long as the rust was repaired with skill and care. That said, we would be surprised if the rust were limited to just the floors. We can't tell if this is the original paint, but wouldn't hold our breaths. The pine green over tan looks great in any case. These days there is more enthusiasm for the SPICA systems that these cars were sold with in North America, but if we are being honest with ourselves, we'd be tempted to slap Webers on just as has been done on this car.

You'll have to decide for yourself on the asking price. To us this isn't $35k worth of car so much as $35k is the price to pay if you want to drive one of these unique cars in relatively short supply. Without the high values on these, we wouldn't be in such a great position on reproduction parts. It's certainly an appealing prospect to drive a car with recognized value and great part availability. Personally, we'll keep trawling the depths of under-appreciated models like the Milano and stocking up our garage with spares for years to come.

Lamborghini produced around 1,200 Espadas over roughly ten years, working out to one car every three days. Fiat produced around 2.7 million 128 sedans and wagons in Italy over the course of around 16 years. That works out to roughly 14,000 cars every 3 days - more than entire model run of Espadas in the time it took to build a single Espada. I can't tell you the last time that I saw either car, but the odds are clearly stacked against the Espada.

Keeping the rarity in mind, this car isn't in so bad of shape. We have no idea why the engine bay is so blackened - could it just be failing finish? Doesn't look like the work of an engine bay fire judging by the hood paint. We also have no idea how tough it will be to source that front bodywork. The interior appears to be pretty complete and in very workable condition - if it's original (who knows?) we would keep as much of that around as possible.

We have read a number of online stories on Espada ownership, and the owners of these seem to be a very welcoming crowd. That usually seems to be the case with weird cars that elicit more stares than they do nods of approval. Is this enough of a project to take over your life for 5 years? Probably. Are you looking for a Lamborghini to occupy your mind for the next 5 years? This might be your car.

Buying from the American Southwest is one way to avoid virtually all rust. Dry enough to store airplanes, the desert air is kinder to the sheetmetal. That said, with the dry air usually comes intense sunlight, and those powerful rays have a way of destroying car interiors. So, unless the car is garage-kept, you pay for your clean sheetmetal with an exploded dash and disintegrated seat foam.

This Alfetta GT seems to have a clean interior for being an Arizona car, likely as a result of refurbishment or storage out of the sun. The rust-free body was repainted at a cost of $10,000, though we are scratching our heads at the overspray on the DeDion tube - seems like something you would avoid on an expensive paint job. This car will need tires, a shifter rebuild, shocks, and likely more to get into perfect condition, but we like the condition as it stands. The seller has thankfully maintained all of the emissions equipment, so CA buyers have a shot at getting this thing on the road. We like the factory AC, modest as its cooling contributions may be.

So many Alfettas have been lost to rust that it is rare to come across a clean car like this. We like that it has been kept in original condition, save for the repaint in the original color. Understandably, many Alfetta owners swapped their SPICA cars over to carbs long ago, so finding a car running its original SPICA system isn't too common. We'll be watching to see where this auction ends up!

We love the styling on the Milano, and are fans of Ermanno Cressoni's work on the Alfa Romeo 33 as well. That said, we can't imagine that most people align with us on the 33, so we are left wondering: how did the 33 win over so many people? Affordability is probably key here, but we've heard that the handling on the 33 is very entertaining. We have to wonder about that, because despite the low position of the engine, it does seem to lie entirely in front of the front axle - not ideal for directional changes.

The seller of this car is located in the United States and is auctioning off a car that they plan to import in the future - keep that in mind if bidding. The photos, while not great for the purpose of this post, do seem to capture most of the body surfaces and reveal a car with a condition in line with the reported mileage. Looking at the under-hood shots, there is a lot to like here. No leaks are apparent, and the original plating is visible on many of the components.

We think that one of these would look cool parked next to its Alfa 164 contemporary. A Cressoni connoisseur, if such a thing exists, might even park one next to an Alfa Milano. In any case, this would certainly be an interesting addition to a collection in North America, where these were never offered new.
