New Page New Blog

2011-12-19T20:49:00.000-08:00

I felt like this blog really wasn't me, or what I am today!

So I've started something new and improved!

Follow my new blog here: Style the Town Red

my little baby is growing up!

2010-11-07T11:53:00.001-08:00

My little gets initiated today and will officially be my little SISTER. She has made me so proud these past few weeks and I am so excited for the new things coming up for her.

I got my paddle a few days ago and here it is!

Isn't it STUNNING?!

Yes, she hand painted the Lilly "Pandamonium" print! It is perfect for me!

I just had to brag a little bit in this post because I'm so excited!! I'll post more later this week!

A little more than a month later

2010-10-28T11:41:00.000-07:00

I think in the past few weeks I've barely had enough time just to breathe.
My time has been shoved back and forth between:
School
LSAT
AOII
Family
Boyfriend
Friends
School
School
and SCHOOL.
I had my 21st celebration which was a blast, even though there were some bumps along the way.
Halloween is almost here though!! Tonight I have a mixer with another sorority and then I will be carving pumpkins! And then for the big Halloween Celebration we will be going to a Nightmare on M street dressed as a Tooth Fairy and a little boy!

I'll be watching this tonight! :)

Happy Halloween!

Online shopaholic

2010-09-20T08:00:00.000-07:00

When I'm at school I do tons of online shopping because I do not bring my car with me. It's just more convenient that way, but sometimes leads to more costs with shipping and what not. That was until I became more smarter in how I shopped online. I started using my ebates account and let me just tell you its amazing! I'm getting money back for a lot of my online purchases. Majority of the sites I purchase from are on the ebates site and they give me some type of percentage back. They also have GREAT coupon codes for free shipping. I love it! I've referred some of my friends and family and now I would like to share it with you all. A bonus if you sign up you'll get 5 dollars back automatically. Can it get any better?

Click the picture and start getting that money back!

tag you're it

2010-09-18T09:17:00.000-07:00

Last weekend was so BUSY! It was recruitment weekend and I was a rho gamma. I loved my group and some of them went AOII. Now time to find my little.

So I just got tagged by If I Can't Wear Heels...I Don't Want to Go. in a Fun Friday Tag! I love Emily's blog so you all should definitely read it!

1. What is your favorite item in your closet?

This is a hard question because I love all of my clothes right now. I think one piece that I always go to are my Jackie Oh III Ray-Bans. I feel like every time when I put them on it puts my outfit together. And I mean they are just so big and FABULOUS.

2. Are you superstitious?

I think I am in between. With some things I am very superstitious and then with other things it doesn't affect me. I would have to say is one thing that I am superstitious about are weddings. No, I am not married, but I am obsessed. You want your day to be perfect and you want the person who you are going to spend the rest of your life with to be amazing. My parents are divorced, so I think the wedding superstitious affect me a little bit more. And I will probably follow most of them to a T. I will wear that something blue and it will be blue shoes. How fun are these?

3. Do you recycle?

Funny thing about that. One of my roommates gets on my constantly to recycle. So yes now I am more conscious and I recycle!

I do try and stray away from using plastic bags!

4. What website do you visit daily?

I visit my Blogger Dashboard everyday. I love the blogs I follow and thank you to my followers!

5. Are you right-handed or left-handed?

RIGHTY!

6. What is a goal you would like to (or have) achieved this year?
I want to get a 170 on my LSAT. I guess thats a goal for next year, but majority of my studying will be this year. Cross your fingers!

7. Do you have any nicknames?

Yes, my nickname at home is Shipwreck (Shippy for short). When I first learned how to surf, the waves we breaking on shore and I crashed onto the beach. I looked like a shipwreck, hence forth my nickname.

8. What is your favorite season?

I love summer and the heat. I am excited for fall, especially all of the smells. I love the smell of apples, pumpkins and cinnamon.

Onto my questions:

1.) What is your favorite color?

2.) If you could have three wishes what would they be and why?

3.) Who is one person you emulate yourself after?

4.) What is one thing you could eat without getting sick of?

5.) What is something that you have to do everyday?

6.) Favorite current song?

7.) Favorite holiday?

8.) What is one item in your closet that you love for this season?

Just around the corner

2010-09-07T11:33:00.000-07:00

My birthday, specifically my 21st birthday, is almost here! 27 days away! Don't worry I won't start a countdown yet. But I'm having a joint party with one of my good friends because her 21st is a couple weeks after. The more the merrier right? Well I'm trying to find a dress to wear during this celebration because you only turn 21 once!

Jcrew, Lilly Pulitzer, Bloomingdales (Michael Kors)

I'm really leaning towards the Lilly; however my boyfriend thinks it will look too baggy on me. I think I'm just going to disregard his opinion. And even though my 21st is not as formal or nice per-say, I still want to look FABULOUS!

All of these dresses depend on my money situation, which brings me to some exciting news! I finally got an interview to become a swim instructor at school! Ahhh and my interview is tomorrow! Keep your fingers crossed I really hope I get the position!

I wanted to also thank everyone for the awards recently, I haven't forgotten! School has been busy, Sorority recruitment is this weekend, and along with other things! I'm sorry!

I'm off to my Econ class now. Let me know what you think of my 21st Birthday Dress Selections!

First Day Of Class

2010-08-30T07:51:00.000-07:00

Its the first day of class for me and I only have one class! Which is a pretty easy day, except I'm starting my LSAT study regime.

I wanted to start off the week with "What's in my Bag" for class. I would post my first day outfit, but I'm stuck wearing my recruitment counselor shirt. Don't worry I dressed it up enough so its not just a t-shirt :)

First is my bag! I love my Kate Spade Tote. I got it last year for Christmas and it has been perfect for my books.

So now for the exciting part...what's inside?

My glasses, pencil case, my go to writing utensils, keycard case, lilly planner, inhaler (I have mild asthma and its kind of acting up right now), hand sanitizer, my wonderful book for my history class and binder.
Besides my stunning Lilly Planner, I love the case that I got as a free gift from the lilly sale. I love that print and it won't fit my make-up; however, it fits my pencils!

And my keycard case. I cannot ever forget this! I have to swipe my ID to get into the building, several other doors and lastly my room. If I forgot it...well we won't go there. It also has a handy starbucks card, whistle for emergencies and my trusty flash drive.

That's what I'm taking to class. What's in your bag? I hope everyone has a great first day back and a great monday!

Crazy!

2010-08-23T17:38:00.000-07:00

Thats exactly what these past few days have been. I finished my last days of work, babysat, spent some extra time with my family, and pack up my entire life. And now I'm back at school!! Ahh It feels so weird to be back and as a JUNIOR. I'm living with three other girls who are in a different sorority; I'm very panhellenic :) I love it. I'm also a recruitment counselor (rho gamma) and work week has started for us! Recruitment isn't for another two weeks, but I'm so excited. Maybe I'll meet my future little?

My door to my room!

How is the rest of your summer being spent? Are you going to back to school?

Oh and I won the Summer Wind Just Madras Giveaway! I'm so excited because I basically only use clutches at school! Also check out her blog because it is definitely one of my favorites!

Young, Fabulous and Broke

2010-08-17T13:13:00.000-07:00

After much thinking and some indecisiveness (typical for me) I made the leap and bought something at the lilly sale! Even though I already bought some things from ruelala earlier. Can I get enough of Lilly? No.

I just bought the Roslyn Skirt in Pandemonium. I love pandas and it is perfect for my sorority!

This was my lucky Lilly summer. I'm done...no more spending for moi.

Lazy Sunday After All

2010-08-15T13:33:00.000-07:00

I'm so happy because my day ended up to be uneventful. I needed a break and its been so nice today.

I'm going to paint all of my little sisters nails today in Essie's Fiji.

Isn't she already fabulous?

(This is my two year old sister.)

the almost end of a sweet summer.

2010-08-14T17:20:00.000-07:00

This is my last week home. I will be leaving the beach on Sunday and there is still so much to do! Ordering books, packing, work for a few days, updating my resume and some last minute shopping. I can't believe I leave for school so soon; once I get there the beloved work week will begin!

At least I will have these to look forward too...

I know they are a little bit more summery, but I'm sure I can put them with some fall pieces. And they were only 29.99 on sale at Piperlime. How could I resist?

BACK from the other side of the country

2010-08-10T17:54:00.000-07:00

It has been way too long since my last post! I am so sorry. I didn't bring my laptop and I just needed some major time with the boy since I haven't seen him in over 2 months. I had such a GREAT time with him and his family. It felt so good just to be with him without the stresses of work and school. The long distance definitely took a toll on us, but right when we saw each other everything fell back into its rightful place.

I love Arizona. It is unbelievably STUNNING. We hiked up and down Camelback Mountain and visited Sedona, AZ. And of course Disneyland was a BLAST!

Here are some of pictures from my wonderful trip:

I wish the trip never ended. I really miss the boy.

How could forget this? I bought some great things while in Arizona as well! We went to these outlets outside of L.A. and I bought this cute top from J.Crew and some toothpick jeans. Both for a great deal. AND I scored two beautiful dresses from the Lilly Ruelala sale. The boy bought me the Sabine Shirt dress (sorry I can't find the picture!) and I scooped up the Stephanie Shift Dress!!

Right when I got home from Arizona the package was patiently waiting in my room. I love both and I can't wait to wear them! What did you score in the Lilly sale?

Also, I won A Southern Girl in a Legal World's Giveaway!! I can't wait to get my lilly tumblers and stationary!!

This week is a tad boring for me. I'll just be working away and getting ready for school. I have to go back early for work week, but I'm kind of excited for it. I'm still not ready for it though. Random item I need, well new is a hairdryer. Any suggestions?

The Day Has Been Decided.

2010-07-27T19:58:00.000-07:00

So I've gotten past my worries, so far, forthe LSAT. I have decided I am going to take it on Feb. 12th. I'm going to put my deposit down for my Test Masters Prep Course soon because I heard

its the best. I'm excited, but nervous because everything is coming so fast.

I have some things coming to look forward to though...

I'M GOING TO ARIZONA THIS THURSDAY!!! I am beyond excited because I have missed the boy so much. Long distance relationships are no fun, but when you finally see each other it makes it that much sweeter. We make it work and enjoy every minute with each other.

I'm checking in tomorrow morning for my bright and early flight on Thursday!

Then once I land, we will be off to Disneyland for a couple of days! I know its busy, but his family loves to go and I can't wait for it either!

How could you say no to mickey and minny?

so much for relaxing...thank you LSAT

2010-07-25T18:35:00.000-07:00

I'm in such a crunch. I don't know what to do and I'm in need of some desperate advice. So I'm looking at the Testmasters website, a prep-course for the LSAT, to see when I should take my course. Obviously, I'm taking the course during my spring semester, but I'm not sure if I should pick the Feb. 12th or the June 6th LSAT. I have my pros and cons for both, I'm just still indecisive. I have more time to study for the June 6th, but I do better when it is basically all shoved into my head. Except I know the LSAT doesn't work that way. The Feb. 12th is in the winter where I can be shut inside, but the session isn't spread out. I need help. Has anyone taken this prep-course before? I don't know what to do.

An Ice, Cold Glass of Sweet Tea Would be Nice.

2010-07-25T16:24:00.000-07:00

Whew, its another hot hot summer day today. I can't really complain though I love summer and the heat. The winter and cold just doesn't suit me. And even though summer is almost ending, I have to go back to school in a matter of weeks for Work Week, I thought I would post about my summer essentials. They vary from person to person, but my summer wouldn't work with

out them.

1.) My Vera Bradley Raspberry Fizz Backpack. Its so easy to carry a few things when I'm

going to lifeguard or go teach swim lessons. It fits just about everything I need.

2.) My skin gets super dry from the chlorine and this is really the only thing that helps. This after-sun smells fresh and leaves my skin pretty moisturized. I'm not into heavy lotion and this is a great light way to quench my skin!
3.) Oh the comfort of these babies! I love these shorts. I have about 5 different pairs and this is one of them. I love the colors they come in especially since I can just pop them over my bathing suit. Nike Tempo Track shorts are a must have for me!
4.) Where would I be without JCrew. These V-necks are a life-saver. They have come out thepast 3 seasons and I don't know where I would be without them. I have them is all of the colors and they are a great light weight tee. They go with everything and I can dress them up and down. I have this one in neon rose and it is a super bright color that makes my complexion pop.

5.) OPI you make great polish. All of their nail polishes stay on my toes for a long time. With the amount of time I spend in the water, cheap nail polish just chips. But with this stuff it hardly ever does. This is Rumple's Wiggin. I love the lavender color!

I of course have other essentials, but I don't think they would all fit.

AND here are some more great Lilly Giveaways:

First Living in Lilly has hit 100 followers! Congrats! She is giving away a stunning Lilly Necklace!

Next A Southern Girl in a Legal World is having a giveaway as well. A great set of Lilly Tumblers and Stationary. I'm completely dying for those tumblers!!

I'm back!

2010-07-24T16:14:00.000-07:00

So this post was long overdue but I think I have a good excuse. I was in Rodanthe, NC for the

past week with no wireless internet! I felt completely disconnected with the world especially since my phone was roaming too. Nevertheless, I still had a great, relaxing vacation with my family. And this week I only work a few days and then I'm off to Arizona to see the boy! Oh I can't wait!

Recent Happenings include:

New Blog Design! Don't you just love it? I'm obsessed! Thanks to Sweet Simplicity's amazing talent in blog designing, I now have a great excuse to post every single day!

I also just purchased a new agenda. Specifically, a new Lilly Pulitzer 17 month Agenda in White Zin. I love love love it and here it is in all of its glory...

I can't wait to start using it!

And speaking of Lilly, there are other great Lilly giveaways going on right now!

First Trish from Pink Preppy Lilly Lover is giving away a fabulous prize:

I just love that bracelet.

And Sweet Carolina Girl is also giving away great Lilly things too...

I have been eyeing those tumblers for quite sometime now.

I'm so excited for both of those giveaways. I don't mean to be selfish, but I'm crossing my fingers to win one of these giveaways!

A healthier me

2010-07-09T16:44:00.000-07:00

So I've finally made some progress into a healthier summer. I've been so busy lately that taking the steps to do and eat healthier things has become kind of difficult. This week has been a change in pace though. I've been making healthier selections in what I drink and eat...(except today sour gummy worms and a coke;it was a rough day at the DMV, I needed a little pick me up)

I drink a glass of green tea everyday

I snack on these instead of something sweet when I crave it

And I start my first P90x lean today. Let me just tell you that it was a work out and a hard one at that. I'm not looking to get ripped or anything. I just want to be more toned.

There are my steps so far. I know it isn't much, but its a big step for my lazy behind.

The awards that I have received will get posted soon and tagged. I appreciate them so much and I'm sorry if it seems like I don't, I'm just SO busy! TGIF! I hope everyone has a great start to their weekend!

GIVEAWAY

Here's the stunning bag!

How could you possibly resist?

2010-07-07T19:38:00.000-07:00

I love love love the Real Housewives of New York and Bethenny Getting Married? and pretty much any Bravo Tv Show.

Bethenny Getting Married? is my favorite right now. It is hilarious and Bethenny has me in tears. I love how sarcastic and brash she is. I can really relate to her. From her dog Cookie to her hubby Jason the show had me hooked.

I LOVE HER!

I received some awards recently so I will update tomorrow!

I'm "crossing over" from the challenge

2010-07-05T14:34:00.000-07:00

I wanted to post something different from the challenge. I have been looking for things for my trip to Arizona that will be occurring in a few weeks! The boy, his family and I may be going somewhere in California, so I wanted to take a bag with me that was small and convenient. I usually carry my Vera Bradley backpack, but I though it was time to change things up a bit. I love these small cross body bags. They look so cute on.

This one?

Or this one?

The first one is from Juicy Couture and the second is Kate Spade. They both are from Nordstrom. I don't know which one to choose. I love the colors in both and of course I love the style. What do you think?

Ahhh...I'm already failing miserably

2010-07-05T07:02:00.000-07:00

So while I was up at my grandparents for July 4th...their wireless internet was down. I tried to get on their computer but let me just tell you that was a shot in the dark.

I'm just going to continue where I left off.

Favorite book:

I love books, but the first book that truly got me into reading was:

To Kill a Mockingbird

Its a book that I read over and over again.

30 day blog challenge: Favorite Movie

2010-07-02T19:50:00.000-07:00

I can watch this movie over and over again...

The Devil Wears Prada

I laugh every time and die over the clothes Anne Hathaway wears (after her makeover of course.)

Did I mention that I own this lovely bag from the movie designed by Patricia Field?

30 day blog challenge: Favorite Song(s)

2010-07-01T18:54:00.001-07:00

3rd Third Eye Blind "Semi-Charmed Life"

4th Miley Cyrus "Party in the U.S.A." (I know probably an overplayed song and Miley Cyrus is a little ehh. But I really LOVE it.)

Catch-up

2010-07-01T13:28:00.000-07:00

I love blogging, but I have absolutely no time to post things...or I just do not make time. Work has been crazy and I think I teach about 4 swim lessons everyday. I also have developed this cough and I have been wheezing for over a week now. I'm on an inhaler so hopefully I won't have to go in to get even more lung tests. I'm exhausted. So my much needed break will come soon. I absolutely can't wait until I go to Rodanthe. Only 16 more days!

But there is more exciting news! Sweet Simplicity is redesigning my blog for me. I can't wait to see how everything turns out and I hope you guys like it. Her designs are absolutely gorgeous so you should definitely go check them out!
