Many uninitiated people especially in the West think that Arabic is Islamic and Islam is Arabic. Nothing can be further from the truth. The Arabic Bible in Modern Standard Arabic is well and alive in this age of information highways. Arab theologians and linguists began working on the translation in 1973 and the New Testament was published 1982, the full Bible following in 1988. Over the years the Book of Life has evolved from a translation of the printed Bible to a ministry aiming at communicating the Bible in various media to diverse audiences.
However, there was no question that many Arabs in the preIslamic Arabia knew and perhaps read Injeel or Gospel written in Arabic especially from the Christians of Najran, a city very close to Medina, and those who may have lived in Syria etc.

In Suratul Faatiha - Iyyaka Na'budu and so on for all of these Unjointable
pronouns.

In terms of meaning; the linguists contend that using any of these make
the meaning more specific.

For instance: Iyyaka Na'budu means; You (ALLAH) Alone do we worship.

So if you say; Iyyaka Uhibu; it means; you alone I love; etc.

To an uninitiated there nothing to fear by learning colloquial Arabic language first between learning Modern Standard Arabic language. However, this may be a degree of truth to this belief for a native Arabic speaker from Egypt or even Sudan. But for pure 'ajamy a non Arabic speaking the danger is in the detail. Pragmatically, it is easier to switch back to classical Arabic after engulfing oneself into the colloquial of Arabic language in speaking as well as in writing.
Hence, pedagogically speaking, it is better to learn classical Arabic first before delving anything colloquial. Perhaps the most salient point here is the inseparability of Modern Standard Arabic language from the Qur'an. If the Arabic language authenticity is compromised, such danger may be encroach upon the Qur'an in no time.
So, you may want to learn Modern Standard Arabic first, before any colloquial, if you must.

Modern Standard Arabic or MSA is the formal Arabic that is written and spoken throughout the contemporary Arab world and Africa. It is called Fus'ha in Arabic, it is used in various forms by approximately 208 million Muslims and Christians; Arabs and non Arabs. In the Arab world, MSA is the language of the news media, intellectual life, and literature from the Qur'an to the historian Ibn Khaldun. MSA is the form of Arabic universally taught in schools of the Africa, Asia, the gulf and the Middle East. In addition, Modern Standard Arabic is the lingua franca used and respected by educated Muslims throughout the entire world, most especially in the academia.

African Languages in Arabic Letters

Linguistically, many African heritage documentations were written either in classical Arabic language or in African languages with Arabic letters.
Pedagogically, many Africans were literate and well educated before the advent of Europeans on the African continent. Many kingdoms were built on this solid educational foundation in Ghana, Songhai, Mali, Nuba, Yoruba, Zulu ...etc. Perhaps Yoruba language which was been originally written in Arabic letters before the newly freed Yoruba slave, Bishop Ajayi Crowther returned from Freetown to Yorubaland and created new Yoruba letters in Latin letters. Classical Arabic language is no strange to West and East Africa. In West Africa, particularly from Timbuktu ... to Yorubaland .... Markazu Taleemul Arabi and and its imeasurable impacts in spreading Arabic language throughout Africa and beyond has few comparison.

Ogunbiyi writes,

Yoruba language was all but settled by
1875 when the Church Missionary Society convened a conference
to put finishing touches to the Romanized Yoruba
orthography on which Samuel Ajayi Crowther and a host of
others (Christian clergymen and specialist linguists) had laboured
during the preceding 35 years. In spite of this seeming
fait accompli status of the Romanized Yoruba orthography,
a subdued feeling of resentment persisted among Muslim
scholars, especially those of them who were not immersed in
the Western education promoted by Christian missionary enterprise.
This subterranean feeling surfaced time and again
in form of direct and indirect attacks on the superimposition
of Christian/British colonial education over Arabic, the primary
tool of Muslim education, which preceded the entry of
Christianity into Yorubaland in the early 1840s.

Role of Arabic Scholarship in Spreading Islam

In 17th century Africa i.e before Europeans advent into Africa, Arabic language was the language of scholarship. Perhaps the best indication of this fact is the abundance presence of Arabic words in many African languages. And many of those words do not have any other synonym.
Example of Yoruba language words of Arabic Origin:
imototo-in Yoruba, imototo-in Arabic i.e cleanliness; alaafia in Yoruba and alaafiya in Arabic etc.
