We're now live at Amity University in Noida (just outside Delhi), India where Claus has just been introduced by the honourable Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, the Director General of Amity International Business School.

We'll be updating for the next two hours from the speech and will also upload the presentation later on this weekend for the students to download.

Claus has gone through the European Culture Survey, examples including "Saturday evening" and "everything is just fine" stress relief. He's also presented the Business Excellence model with its two aspects of Professional and General Business Excellence before leading into Employeeship and its 11 factors.

Due to the power cuts, Claus is now running the presentation without slides and got a great cheer from the crowd when he said that "only speakers who don't know their topics need PowerPoint."

Last PPF Seminar Day in India

After a whistlestop tour of India, Claus is now doing his last full day programme at the ITC Royal Gardenia hotel in Bangalore. The staff at the hotel have been exceptional and the ballroom is the best out of the 3 venues for open seminars so far. We also enjoyed a great experience in Mumbai yesterday. After the end of the Putting People First seminar today we've got a long domestic flight back to Delhi and a 2 hour presentation to students and faculty at Amity University tomorrow, where the topic will be Employeeship.

We would like to thank our hosts at Inspire One for organising the visit and laying on the seminars. They have taken very well care of all of us and Neeta and Deepak have been great company while we've been travelling round India. A big thanks from us to you and your staff in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.

Yesterday Claus started off by doing an internal presentation for the HR team at Cairn Energy in New Delhi and followed that up with a high profile event for the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI). The latter was attended by everything from Chairmen of the largest publicly listed companies in India to senior level governmental advisers and Permanent Secretaries of the largest governmental departments. Claus was thrilled to see people who had come to see him both 10 and 15 years ago on previous visits to India and it's great to see the level of enthusiasm that he is able to generate here. Today there is an open seminar on Putting People First for more than 100 senior managers at the ballroom of the Sheraton New Delhi, which will be followed by similar seminars in Mumbai on Thursday the 18th and Bangalore on Friday the 19th.

We will be uploading pictures from the various events in due course, but you can see mobile snaps on the Twitpic account accessible through Claus's Twitter profile.

Claus is Coming to India in November 2010

Claus will be in India from the 14th to the 22nd of November, running three one day seminars in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore on the 16th, 18th and 19th respectively. He will also be doing a number of sessions with the gentlemen of the press.

50th Practical Leadership Seminar Starts Saturday

On Saturday, Claus will be running the 6 day long unique management education Practical Leadership for the 50th time in Cotignac, France. Over the last 8 years this has been offered as an open seminar 6 times a year and it's also been run several times internally for management teams of clients.

We are about to decide on pricing for next year, but if you'd like to book a place early on the English edition in Spring 2011 (PL52 from the 26th to the 31st of March) we promise to freeze the 2010 (and 2009) prices if you book before the 15th of November.

Back from Easter with a Bang!

We hope you've all had a fantastic Easter with friends and family. Our team have been spreading their wings as well as staying at home. Claus spent his Easter with friends and family at home and others have been all over the world seeing museums in Washington, D.C. and many other places.

We've all come back revitalised and can't wait to get cracking with all of the exciting projects ahead, including the sold out Practical Leadership 46 seminar (has it really been that many? WOW!) from the 17th to the 22nd of this month. We're also organising an internal Practical Leadership seminar for one of our clients at the beginning of May and are doing another in June for an association where the members will attend so it will be an incredibly busy few months - not to mention Claus's many speaking engagements and our on-going consultancy projects for some very exciting clients!

Finally, it also looks like our long-awaited (and promised) new web site will go live before too long. We've even been looking at new logos to bring everything about our brand identity bang up to date. We hope you like it as much as we do and we're even considering getting your feedback before we decide which one to settle on. Stay tuned for more info on this!

Crazy Times...

I'm sure you've all been wondering why there have been no updates recently, but we've been insanely busy. Claus has done several keynote speeches, done almost full-time consultancy for a couple of clients and on top of that run 3 Practical Leadership seminars last Autumn as well as PL45, which has just finished recently.

During these crazy few months Claus has found himself everywhere from France to Hong Kong, via the UK, Denmark and Thailand.

Later on this year he will be doing a series of keynote speeches in India for the first time in almost a decade. They are sure to be a resounding success and as soon as we can confirm the final dates we will let you know. Make sure you book early in order to avoid disappointment.

Right, time for a quick update on what's been going on recently and why we haven't been able to update the blog as much as we would like to. Erm, strike that - why we haven't been updating the blog at all for 3 months.

During this time, we have started building the following:

Claus' Twitter profile (now around 150 followers) and we're getting into the groove of ensuring that it is constantly updated with inspirational quotes; links to relevant business and personal development articles; special offers; and Claus' quick thoughts on life. Please sign up to follow for all of the latest news and feel free to pass it on to others who you think might benefit from Claus' wisdom.
A brand new web site, which we will launch in the next couple of months. We have long needed a new, cleaner design and more depth of content on clausmoller.com. It won't be long (probably sometime during late September) that we will be able to unveil the new site - which will also integrate the blog. As soon as we launch, this URL will redirect directly to the blog page on the main site.

There was a short segment covering the first of Claus's recent seminars in Denmark about avoiding the dangers and seizing the opportunities of the current financial crisis. If you're Danish, you might want to have a quick look (less than 2 minutes). They also interview staff at ProShop Europe, one of the Danish companies which is doing well, and the focus is very much on ensuring that staff receive clear communication about where they are going and how to get there - a key ingredient in the Employeeship philosophy.

A new biography about Claus has been released in Denmark. It is written by Niels Lillelund and published on Jyllands-Postens Forlag.

It has received some great reviews including this one from "Information" (in Danish). There was also a great review in Berlingske Tidende on September 30th, but this is not available online yet.

In the next few days, we'll make available an excerpt from the book in Danish.

Golden Nugget of the day: Self-esteem

After yesterday's golden nugget about taking responsibility for your life and actions to create a meaningful life, we received a couple of emails saying that for some people it can be hard to take this responsibility and that they felt they lacked the energy to break out from the patterns that they were following. This leads us to the daily nugget:

"Only people with self-esteem and a feeling of power can take responsibility."

If you do not have the feeling of being in control and ability to take responsibility for your life, it is often down to a feeling of powerlessness and low self-esteem. This is where you need to start your personal journey. There are many ways of building your confidence and tackling low self-esteem and everything from good coaches who can help you to finding things that you are good at and then keep on improving on those skills to build your confidence are a good way to start. Once you start to build your self-esteem and come to believe in yourself, you will also come to the realisation of what you need to do in order to take control of your life and achieve your goals.

Take responsibility!

"Ordinary people can create extraordinary results."

This might seem like an empty phrase, but if you look at the everyday heroes around you in your local community, or in the stories from around the world we see in the newspapers every single day you soon come to realise that there is a hero hidden in all of us. Whether or not we choose to bring that hero out is another matter entirely. Many people choose to trundle through life, whereas others who are just the same as us realise that we can all keep on pushing our limits and through goal setting and planning can achieve incredible results. For some this is a painstaking and on-going process, for others it comes naturally - but the common thread is the realisation that you have to turn up in order to be in the game and to always give it your best shot. Then you too can create extraordinary results.

Of Life... and Management

Here's the golden nugget of the day:

"An incompetent manager treats minor tasks as major tasks -
while major tasks do not get done at all."

We all know somebody like that. Here's hoping it's not the person you see in the mirror in the mornings. In order to avoid this, prioritisation and planning are the keys and you always need to keep an eye on the bigger picture and where any given task fits into this picture. Does it help you achieve your long-term goals or not? Is it important? If you can't answer in the affirmative to either of those questions you probably should not focus too much on the task at hand, but identify the tasks which really do require your attention.
