Starch based diet, 80-10-10, that’s 80% carbs from starches, 10% fat, 10% protein, is the best.

Eating starches like: potatoes, rice, corn, beans, lentils.

I’ve stopped adding nuts and seeds, and stopped flax, and chia. I was thinking about it. and if taking the pure oils caused my knee to swell, than taking a smaller amount didn’t really make sense. My knee is already back to normal btw. The nut industry funds junk studies trying to make nuts look good.

McDougall says that fats and oils, no matter the source (meat, or plants) sludge your blood. Making your circulation worse. Better blood flow means better nutrient delivery to cells, cellular oxygenation, and better recovery.

It’s been about a week, following it loosely, but I already know that its a sustainable diet.

McDougall is one of seemingly very few who emphasize the importance of your diet being starch based, and low fat. Without these two things you would just fail so hard. It’s crazy how it all comes down to this 1 man, but that’s the world we live in. Money drives everything, and it’s only getting worse and worse.

I’ve been interested in nutrition for a long long time, going in seeming circles from ‘expert’ to ‘expert’ only to be more confused not knowing what to believe. Though there is one person that rings with such truth that you must keep returning to it and eventually realize that it is the true path. That path is McDougall’s the Starch Solution. He breaks down why we are ‘starchivores’ in a way that makes it so obvious. There is really no other way we could feed our brains.. starch builds civilizations, hunting and gathering only builds primitive and dumb tribes!

Vids:

I’m taking pure dextrose again, last time I tried dextrose I did gain weight, this time I will try keeping fat to a minimum. I’m 250 with 50 lbs to lose. I’ll keep on grinding seeds with oatmeal to get the essential fats, and whatever other fat I can’t avoid. I won’t stress too much about it.

There is a ‘sugar diet’ fad going around where people do sugar fasting eating only sugar / fruits, and no fat or little protein. And the weight flies off with ease.

I feel like it’s not a bad idea for short term, however for long term and maintenance: Good fats that cause a bile dump and fiber keeps your entire system flowing, and the toxins constantly being sequestered out.

I’ve been watching durianrider on youtube because his diet has included refined sugar for decades, and he does really well on it.

Mcdougall also recommended a high starch diet, he would recommend refined sugar to only his sickest patients. But in the video below he says that sugar, refined sugar, does not cause diabetes, it’s only when you add fat that you are at risk. And he goes on to say diabetes is curable with rice and sugar.

The brain runs on glucose, it’s preferred energy source, without enough energy it is unable to deal with all the problems of the body effectively. After a traumatic experience the brain utilizes more glucose than normal but then after 20 minutes uses less and stays at a reduced rate. The result is that the brain doesn’t get the fuel it needs resulting in anxiety, depression, and a whole host of mental issues. Refined dextrose is a tool of brain restoration.

When I first heard about Brian Peskin, I was excited to try these organic parent oils, I decided on organic hemp seed oil, and flax seed oil. Finding unoxidized flax seed oil was hard i tried 3 brands before finding one that tasted decent, not rancid.

However, a month or so later after little benefit or improvement noticed, I decided pure oils are not the way to go.

The way to go is all organic breakfast, the organic part is important since pesticides get incorporated into the fat of these plants. You don’t want glyphosate destroying your gut lining.

Organic quick oatmeal, raw whole seeds ground up before adding to oatmeal. This is the way.

I am now adding: Freshly ground organic raw: flax seeds, chia seeds, hulled pumpkin seeds, hulled sunflower seeds, hulled sesame seeds. I also add a bit of beans. I bought a coffee bean grinder for 20 bucks, a blender will work also.

It gives me plenty of unadulterated parent omega 3 and 6. There is plenty of fiber also which feeds gut bacteria which in turn produce beneficial short chain fatty acids.
I add 30g of vanilla flavored protein, and 6 grams collagen. and take some vitamin c with it.
A lot of people like adding fruits and raisins to their oatmeal, the vanilla flavor is enough for me to get it down easily. I don’t want too much sugar, and I am handling it well after eating, not tired, I just feel good.

There’s a few notable people that suggest the same thing, that is Dr. Fuhrman.
He recommends starting your day with oatmeal and ground up flax and chia seeds, and whatever else to add to it. He also talks a lot about beans and their benefits. He says the more nuts and seeds you eat, and beans you eat, the longer you live, and the healthier you will be.

It’s funny I also listen to the carnivores that say oatmeal is terrible for you. I enjoy reading the comments of people saying their grandparents lived long lives on oatmeal every morning.

Also Will Bulsiewicz, this author of Fiber Fueled, which I havent read yet. Has some good interviews on the benefits of fiber on gut health and the microbiome. So ya with raw ground seeds every morning, i’m getting the best of both worlds.

Preground flax is trash because it’s likely oxidized when you get it, It’s a good idea to store your raw nuts in the fridge.
Pure oil is trash because your body can’t handle it fast enough and stores it as fat.
Fiber mixed with good fat provide a steady drip of nutrient absorption.

And I guess we’ll see just how beneficial it is after a month or so of eating this way!

ChatGPT is great for ballparking nutrition!

She mentioned learning about unadulterated omega-6 fats from Brian Peskin. I listened to whatever I could find on Brian Peskin. What he presents makes sense in my history I’ve been programmed to avoid omega-6 seed oils, and ignorantly taken fish oils in large amounts.

The next day I went to a health food store and bought some Primrose Oil. And so begins my next experiment that seems really promising, the last key! I’ve been on a low vitamin A diet now for 8 months, and my skin hasn’t cleared fully.

Thankfully this sort of experiment doesn’t take long to see results, it can be in a week. but he says 18 weeks for full restoration.

I was watching a video of Dr. John McDougall rebutting an argument that eating a diet of only potatoes will cause blindness. He argues that it may cause temporary night blindness, but not total blindness. He goes on to argue that a person can live healthily on a diet of only potatoes.

People have lived on potatoes with NO blindness, even tho the classic potato has <1% vitamin A content.

I’ve been watching a lot of McDougall’s videos lately, he has never said the vitamin A in sweet potatoes is bad, but what he has said is that supplementing with beta carotene or vitamin A is bad.

If you take vitamin A and mineral supplements you cause nutritional imbalances like for example beta-carotene, beta-carotene when you eat it as pill for example if you eat it as a carrot no big deal because it’s properly balanced with other carotenoids, but you take a supplement of beta-carotene concentrated isolated beta-carotene and it goes into your gut into your bloodstream and then into the cells well there are 50 different carotenoids that the body interacts with they’re about 600 different carotenoids in nature but 50 of them that we have to uh to deal with with terms of good health they are all they are all activated by an attachment to a carotenoid receptor in other words all these 50 carotenoids they have to attach to the inside of the cell to this carotenoid receptor before they can function well when you flood the system with beta-carotene just one of the 50 carotenoids there’s no more room for the other carotenoids and you increase your risk of getting cancer, heart disease, dying that’s basically what all the studies show.

Excerpt from transcript of Dr. John McDougall in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0JfIRhwiLs

The country with the one of the highest sweet potato consumption Papua New Guinea has one of the highest rates of blindness in the world.

“The first national survey on eye health in Papua New Guinea (PNG) has found that the prevalence of blindness among people aged 50 years and older is 5.6%, which is one of the highest rates in the world.” – The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness

Wow, so consuming potatoes with no vitamin A doesn’t affect eye health, but a diet of potatoes WITH vitamin A is associated with decreased eye health.

Over 90% of blindness and vision impairment in PNG is avoidable. The main cause is untreated cataract and uncorrected refractive error. There are approximately 11 ophthalmologists performing surgery for a population of nine million, whereas the World Health Organization (WHO) advises that countries of this size should have at least 90 ophthalmologists.

PNG also faces the rapidly rising challenge of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), including diabetes, which if poorly managed can lead to diabetic retinopathy (DR). Left untreated, DR can result in irreversible vision loss and blindness. The current lack of DR services in PNG, means every person with diabetes is at high risk of vision loss.

Image and quote from https://www.hollows.org.nz/

Vitamin A may also be associated with diabetes as well.

Google: “Papua New Guinea Diet”

“Papua New Guinean cuisine is largely vegetarian, with lots of tropical fruits and starchy root veggies, including sago, taro and sweet potato. Seafood, chicken and pork are also popular, though pork is usually reserved for special occasions.”

Out of all meats, pork is the worst for accumulating retinoic acid (vitamin A).

Google: “cataracts diet association”
“Foods rich in vitamins C and E, zinc, lutein, zeaxanthin, and omega-3 fatty acids have been linked to lower risks of age-related macular degeneration (AMD), cataract and other eye conditions later in life. It’s also possible that diet plays a role in glaucoma, though it’s not yet clear how.” – American Academy of Ophthalmology

Sweet potato vs potato content

Vitamin A – Sweet potato: 14,187 IU, potato: 2IU.

Vitamin C – Sweet potato: 2.4mg per 100g, potato: 19.7 mg per 100g. Sweet potatoes have less vitamin C than regular white potatoes.

Vitamin E – Sweet potato: 2%, Potato: 0.4%

Zinc – Sweet Potato: 0.30 mg, Potato: 0.30 mg

Lutein & Zeaxanthin – dont know.

Omega-3 – Sweet potato: 10mg / 100g, Potato: 20mg / 100g

Protein – Sweet Potato 1.6 g, Potato 3g.

Grant Genereux theorized that scurvy in sailors was caused mostly by a poisoning of a vitamin A rich soup made with the offal of animals. However vitamin C was protective against the vitamin A poisoning. See his article here: SCURVY, and read his books!

This is just another example of how vitamin A is not good for eyes or health in general, it’s a poison.

Lots of vegans abandoning the vegan lifestyle and turning to meat because of vitamin A poisoning symptoms. Lots of carnivores running into problems with consuming lots of animal vitamin A. Vitamin A is such a sleeper.

In my current state, I feel the vegan diet could be superior, but it must be without vitamin A.

People restricting vitamin A in their diet are getting back their health, reversing celiac! and other autoimmune conditions. If you have the time, watch these interviews with people who have made pretty miraculous recoveries in their health by restricting vitamin A, eating fiber, and beans, and other detox helping supplements: https://www.youtube.com/@thortorrens/videos

Main solutions:

Soluble Fiber helps remove vitamin A toxic bile from our body. A diet without fiber will cause 95% of toxic bile to be reabsorbed by the body.

Protein and Zinc from muscle meat helps export vitamin A from your liver. Said another way, vitamin A depletes protein and zinc, selenium. Where do vegetarians go when their bodies crave zinc, selenium, the body must crave something that is high in these and low in vitamin A. May be best to eat meat and do vegan right with a level of vitamin A the body can consistently deal with. Pumpkin seeds have vitamin A and fat, so maybe not the best option.

It’s inevitable

Vitamin A restriction will eventually be super popular, it’s just a matter of time.

My current theory:

Vitamin A is poisonous to the body.

Fat consumed with plant vitamin A beta carotene increases the absorption of this plant toxin. Animal vitamin A is highly absorbed in the body.

Milk is fortified with vitamin A and the things in milk make it highly absorbed.

Muscle Meat has fat, and small amounts of vitamin A

If you eat vegan, eating veggies with a lot of vitamin A in combination with oils, fats, you will absorb a lot of it.

Beta-carotene conversion to retinol is not a regulated conversion, as some have concluded. Vitamin A toxicity is possible with beta-carotene.

It explains how saturated fat has been demonized by the health community, since people who eat more fat have worse health outcomes.

It explains how animal protein consumption is associated with poor health outcomes.

It explains how a lot fat diet could be beneficial. Less vitamin A absorption.

Many people switch to vegan and some do really well, however some don’t, maybe its too many sweet potatoes with olive oil. Vitamin A increases the need for protein in the body. When you lose fat your fat stored vitamin A poisons your body more, so for some weight loss could be a poisoning. Some will go back to meat and get a euphoric feeling, perhaps its just needed to detox that excess vitamin A, a healthy non toxic person needs less protein. Maybe they don’t eat enough beans to clean out their toxic bile.

The poisonous combination: Vitamin A rich foods in combination with animal fats, seed oils, olive oil, coconut oil.

Many high vitamin A foods are relatively new in the human diet, like tomatoes, sweet potatoes, orange carrots, cod liver oil, vitamin A fortified milk.

It must have been known that vitamin A was toxic before, but we have forgotten.

I eat beans now. Lots of them.

I completed 30 days of vitamin A restriction in my diet. One staple in my diet has been beans. I feel better, my energy is better, my skin is better, my mood is better.

Beans are the best.

The secret of beans is that they trap toxic bile produced by the liver in their soluble fiber so that the toxic bile doesn’t get reabsorbed, and recirculated in your system. Beans are the top source of soluble fiber of any food. They also trap hormones that are no longer needed by the body (see video below).

If you want to learn about beans look up Karen Hurd. She has an incredible story about saving her daughter’s life with the power of soluble fiber. There are many informative interviews with her on youtube.

Grant Genereux successfully detoxed vitamin A toxicity using beans among other things.

Below are some interviews with Karen Hurd that I recommend for an overview. What’s interesting to note is how little views these videos have, this is what I believe to be the cutting edge of nutrition…

My continuing experiment is:

Vitamin A restriction. (poison restriction)

Beans as a staple in the diet. (maximizing soluble fiber)

Beans are the future, our environment is becoming more and more toxic by the day… beans are the antidote.

My workout philosophy has changed over the years, this is my best approach to date.

The most efficient muscle building system:

Starch based diet, oats, beans, potatoes.

Low vitamin A diet.

Drink salt and electrolytes before during after workout.

Plenty of natural sunshine

Lots of sleep

Earthing when sleeping

Prioritize safety, safety of joints first, never pushing too hard.

Full body workouts 2 or 3 times a week.

Workout one muscle group everyday for a month, if you have high motivation to get a specific muscle developed

Utilize myo-reps 20-50 reps 5 to 10 deep breaths 5-20 db 5-20 db 5-20 db 1-20 (also trains deep breathing)

All sets to failure or close to failure.

Train for a month and a half, take the rest of month off

Tendons take longer to recover than muscles

Opt for more reps to failure rather than heavy weight

Calisthenics are the best, Dumbbells are needed for full development

Protein powder is overrated.

Burpees are king.

Short range of motion in the stretched muscle position builds muscle faster.

Workout your neck with self resistance and high reps.

Interesting fact

Muscle composition is 75-80% water, and 15-20% protein.

To add a pound of muscle to your body, you need 90 grams of protein. Assuming it’s 100 percent efficient.

For beginners, you can add at most 2lbs per month, so that would mean 180 grams of extra protein over the coarse of a month, a measly 6 grams of extra protein per day.

Eating high carb is best I have to admit.

Best Maintenance Program To Date

As I get older I am branching out to other exercises for good general health and not just for bigger muscles.

The 5 minute daily workout

I’ve been doing this workout for the past 5 months.
1 set high reps of all to near failure. Start reps slow, increase speed. No rest between exercises.
Pushups
Hammer Curls
Shoulder Press
Side Delt Flies
Rear Delt Flies
Lunges
Pull ups / hang hold.
Jumping Jacks / High Knees / Running on spot

Doing this program I have gained size on my arms. My shoulders are bigger as well.
End of workout drink and replenish electrolytes.

It’s good in theory because it:

keeps on slamming down myostatin levels.

Very little muscle damage.

Hits fast twitch as well as slow twitch muscle fibers. Fast reps means a near full effort contraction (fast twitch recruitment) but don’t start fast since at the start you are strongest which puts more stress on tendons.

High rep burn 16 – 50 reps. (I only work with body weight and 20lb dumbbells.)

Jumping is for whole body bone density.

Good cardiovascular response.

This is not health advice, use this post only as a guide to research the points on your own.

Both high carb and low carb people can get skrewed by Vitamin A.

Both Vegans and Carnivores can get skrewed by Vitamin A.

Trying to eat healthy? You can get screwed by Vitamin A.

The liver stores vitamin A, protecting the bodies tissues from it, waiting to release it safely.

The body stores it in fat tissue as well, people who resort to liposuction typically have orange fat, which is vitamin A.

The body will create fat in order to store more vitamin A. Probably lowering metabolism in order to make enough fat.

So there is basically this Vitamin A barrel in the body and when it overflows it causes all sorts of damage throughout the body wherever it goes.

Autoimmune disease is caused by vitamin A getting in the cells and the body forced to deal with these poisoned cells.

Kids will get autoimmune conditions like eczema and outgrow them, meaning their smaller liver will be overflowing with vitamin A stores, and then their livers will grow to deal with more vitamin A. When people get older older, their livers shrink. and their vitamin A stores overflow and cause all sorts of autoimmune conditions.

Retinol, a form of vitamin A is used as a chemical peel for skin. and this is exactly what it does in the body wherever it goes.

The vitamin A toxic liver produces bile with vitamin A in it. It then gets into the blood and causes inflammation throughout the entire body, list all autoimmune conditions, some of them are alzheimer’s, crohn’s, celiac, psoriasis.

People who have toxic livers can get angry for no reason, lethargic, become depressed, apathetic.

Vitamin A toxicity is not easily seen in blood work. Your liver could be right full and your blood reading will be low. Typically when you stop taking in vitamin A, that’s when your liver starts releasing it, therefore symptoms might get worse before they get better.

Fasting doesn’t really help a Vitamin A filled liver, it needs protein to transport it out. it needs food to stimulate bile production. You may feel good when fasted, but when you start eating again its back to vitamin A toxicity.

It’s insidious, so hard to pinpoint whats causing all your problems. You could be accumulating vitamin A for years before you get any signs of toxicity. I feel very fortunate to have stumbled upon this info now.

Detox Map

General gist of detoxing from vitamin A poison.

Restrict vitamin A – some sources of vitamin A are not too obvious like Pork contains retinoic acid in its fat.

High protein intake. Needed to produce Retinol Binding Protein in the liver to transport it out.

High fiber intake. Needed to soak up toxic bile produced by the liver and get it out so it doesn’t get recycled or go into the blood.

Activated Charcoal – Used to soak up bile and bile toxins, Activated Charcoal doesn’t get into the blood. Super safe supplement you only have to worry about constipation.

Niacin – Real B3 as Nicotinic Acid – Used to help liver detox.

Zinc, Selenium – good for detox, replacing too much copper with zinc. (2 others I’m not mentioning)

My foundational diet now:

Oatmeal with peanut butter, bananas, raisins.

Lean beef, chicken & chicken breast,

Beans, peanuts,

Electrolytes, magnesium, potassium, salt.

Zinc, B vitamins, nicotinic acid, and selenium supps.

Taking charcoal everyday throughout the day. (could interfere with meds, I don’t take any meds)
