A coach, therapist, change consultant and researcher, I use Clean Language, Symbolic Modelling and Emergent Knowledge to help clients understand the creative possibilities inherent in their models of the world, in both business and personal contexts.

Like many women, I’m poor at reading literal maps, but something different happens when I work with people’s metaphor landscapes. I think of myself as a particular kind of cartographer. My skills are in facilitating into full awareness those choices and insights that exist in everyone’s mental landscapes. Once an individual, team or organisation has that awareness, different choices can be made.

I’m an experienced third-sector professional, with a career spanning publishing, information management, the arts and international relations. I have over a decade’s experience in senior management and a proven track record in managing people, projects and change. Prior to becoming a consultant, I was the British Council’s Director of Literature, representing UK writing in over 80 countries. Recent consultancy assignments include workshop design and change facilitation for the Independent Police Complaints Commission, planning and executive coaching with London School of Biodynamic Psychotherapy, research into prescription charges for the Department of Health, and impact research for the Health & Safety Executive.

With Maurice O’Shea I have developed C-C@PS, a Clean-based strategy tool that brings clarity to SMEs and their plans. With Wendy Sullivan, I train and mentor other professionals in the use of Clean Language. My ears are one of my best resources and my approach is underpinned by the principles and ethos of Clean: clarity, respect and exquisite listening.

Rosaleen Bloomfield specialises in using clean language, clean space, symbolic modelling and structural thinking in her systemic approach to helping clients with their desired outcomes. Maurice is a Chartered Accountant and graduated from the London Business School with an Executive MBA in 1999 where he specialised in marketing and growing entrepreneurial businesses. He is a Clean Change Facilitator and an NLP Practitioner.

His career includes being Managing Director of BSkyB’s SkyTalk Operations where he played a key role in increasing customer numbers by 1.5m within two years, increasing revenues sevenfold, doubling gross margin and winning the top 8 U-Switch service awards in 2008. As Finance Director of a News International subsidiary he generated £25m from turning around a business in crisis. Previous positions included being Finance Director of major national advertising and media agencies. Maurice has raised both angel and private equity finance for new ventures.

Maurice combines his financial skills with a positive and entrepreneurial drive to create value out of change, growth and challenging issues. Following a background in general practice, Angela completed specialist training in occupational medicine and now works as a consultant in that discipline. Her particular interest is in effective communication and the use of ‘Clean’ in assisting employees, managers and HR professionals to achieve positive resolution of work related health and performance issues.

Angela is a certified clean language facilitator and has completed advanced modules in the technique. She is an NLP practitioner and has a distinction in cognitive behavioural therapy skills for occupational health practitioners. She has also completed training and certification in psychological coaching and bases her work model on a number of disciplines from medicine, clean and coaching in her face-to-face client and organisational advisory work.

Paul is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Management, University of Surrey, where he is Assistant Director of the Centre for Management Learning. He joined Surrey in 1991 and led the development of the MSc Change Agent Skills and Strategies, an advanced training for consultants and facilitators, which he directed for many years.

Career experience over the past 25 years includes consultancy, coaching and management, as well as teaching at the University of Edinburgh and the Open University. His research interests include transformative learning and NLP, and his book `A Critical Appreciation of NLP’ (2009, co-author Dr Jane Mathison) is published by Palgrave Macmillan.

As a Certified Clean Facilitator, Paul uses use Clean Language for coaching to support learning from experiences of organisational change, and to supervise professional practice and research.

He is seeking opportunities for doing research using Clean Language as a method, for example to evaluate workplace learning.

The magic of Clean Language is that it gives words to our deepest feelings, so just a vague ‘niggle’ that something isn’t right is able to speak it’s wisdom and be heard. It allows the ‘wisdom of one’s whole system to be heard, used and lived and thus we can live fully and more ‘whole-heartedly’.

Matthew has been a qualified Clean facilitator since the first certification in Jan 2007. Julie has worked with Coach Training Organisations as a Senior Coach, Coach Mentor and Assessor and is an experienced Teacher.
