A month after the disastrous Hurricane Irene, still, many home owners are coping from the damages caused to them. Mold is still the major aftermath issue of the floods and people are making ways to compensate the damages.

Mold in many flood victims’ properties are still extensively growing. These homes remain uninhabitable and repairs could cost expensively. Not all of the victims even have flood insurance and that’s a big problem.

A mold specialist said that drying is the best way to easily get rid of mold in affected homes. But since not all could afford to hire a restoration team to dry the place, residents of West Pittston had alternative ways to do the drying method. They said it is the waiting game. They wait for the water to recede, and then wait for more time for the property to dry out by leaving windows open. West Pittston found the technique effective. Cleaning mold is not a very big issue since its growth has been somewhat hindered.

==================

WEST PITTSTON – Some of the contractors and neighbors who have visited Trent Grove’s flood-damaged home tell him his recovery progress is ahead of most in town.

Being that his family is still months away from moving back home, he was surprised.

“If we’re ahead of the game, what about a lot of the other people?” Mr. Grove said recently at his Linden Street home.

Truth is, a month since the historic flood, many of the hundreds of property owners affected by the flood in West Pittston are playing the waiting game – waiting for their properties to dry. Rather than hiring a restoration company with industrial fans, some people are trying to simply air out their homes by keeping the windows open, said Don Summa, a mold specialist from Drew Envirkleen in Throop.

“The mold is outgrowing the drying,” Mr. Summa explained. “Drying is the key.”

Flood victims need to spend a lot for repairs to be able to get back to their damaged homes. And additional finances are needed to hire a professional to resolve the mold problem. Well, there is actually no need for that.

Lenoir County, N.C. – We have heard concerns from people worried about mold issue in Lenoir County school so nine on your side went to find out.

We Talked with Lenoir County School officials today who say none of their schools have a mold issue that they are aware of.

They said the concern is most likely coming from news of a leak they had at Frink Middle School in La Grange.

The principal says that one of the windows was leaking very badly after the storms this weekend but the problem has already been fixed and treated for potential mold.

“They took out the tiles that need to be replaced, the washed down with mold disinfectant and replaced the tiles and repainted the walls and as far as my understanding they did that on Monday and the students were back in class in that classroom by Tuesday,” said Lidia Guzman, the public information officer for Lenoir County School.

Yes mold is just a tiny organism but… it can cause real big health problems. Most schools experience mold infestation and almost of them were forced to shut down the school, the only option left in order to protect the health of their students.

Mold exposure can cause mold allergy which has symptoms ranging from sneezing, breathing disorder, and the worst is brain damage. The schools always take mold issues of great interest except that none of any mold remediation products is just enough to solve the problem.

Good thing! Molderizer is out in the public now. The number one mold remediation product that offers not only a guaranteed total mold wipe-out but a 100% non-toxic and safe for the health. Cleaning mold has never been this easy and safe. One thing that you can do is buy a manuscipt for black mold removal. Visit DrMoldNetwork.com/blog

If you have small areas of toxic black mold you can remove them yourself if you are very careful. Very large areas really need professional advice and removal. If you are going to attempt cleaning up your home of toxic black mold yourself then you need to be aware of the problems you may encounter and how to deal with them. You should always wear adequate protective clothing which includes gloves and breathing masks as it is important not to breathe in spores from the mold as they are very toxic. it is important that you not only remove all visible mold, but that you find any mold growing in hidden places such as in the walls or inside appliances such as air conditioners. You will also need to deal with the conditions that caused the toxic black mold to grow in the first place.

Identifying Damp Areas

The first thing to do before you even attempt to remove the black mold is to find out why it is growing and deal with these problems. Anywhere there is moisture that has accumulated can allow the black mold to grow so look for leaks in your roof or chimney, leaking pipes especially those that are hidden in walls and floors, condensation especially in bathrooms, blocked or leaking gutters etc. You should also check the humidity in your home and and make sure that it is below 55%. A hygrometer can be used for this and you should make sure that you check, not just the usual living areas, but also your basement, your attic, inside closets and cupboards especially those used for storing food and in your bathroom. If you find the humidity is above 55% then you will need to deal with this by using dehumidifiers. In bathrooms and basements make sure that you have adequate ventilation. Ensure that vents from air conditioners and clothes dryers lead to the outside so that they do not increase the moisture level in the air inside your home.

Toxic Black Mold Removal

Step one – Preventing Black Mold Spores From Spreading

Before you begin removal of the black mold you need to consider the ways that you are going to use to prevent any of the toxic spores from spreading through your home. Each room needs to be treated separately and you will need to seal off the room properly before you start. Shut off any ventilation systems and use heavy-duty plastic bags and duct tape to seal vents, windows and doors. You need to keep the dust levels as low as possible so before you start mist the area lightly mist with water to damp down any dust that may be caused during the removal process.

Step two – Removing the Black Mold

Once you have the room adequately sealed and the area to be treated damped down you can start to clean. Thoroughly clean using soap and then disinfect with a preparation specifically made to kill mold. Black mold may be growing in areas where it is not visible so you need to clean all the surfaces where the spores may have landed. After cleaning the areas thoroughly dry them. Non-porous materials such as plastics, metals, glass etc. can be reused. Some semi-porous materials, such as wood and concrete, may have been so damaged that they need to be replaced and many porous materials such as paper, ceiling tiles, carpets, insulation etc. can be so heavily damaged by black mold that they may also be unusable.

Disposing of Contaminated Materials

It is important that you do not dispose off contaminated materials in such a way that you reinfect other areas of your home. All contaminated material should be placed in heavy duty plastic bags and sealed carefully. Do not carry the infected materials through your house but use a window to place the bags directly outside. They can then be taken to a landfill for proper disposal.

Preventing Black Mold Regrowing

As we have noted earlier it is extremely important that you deal with any problems that have arisen that have allowed the black mold to thrive. In addition to repairing any broken pipes and gutters that may be causing more moisture in your home, plan on a regular tour of inspection to catch any black mold that is growing before it gets out of control. Include areas that you may not visit often such as basements, cellars and attics. Inspect your roof regularly for leaks especially after the winter and while you are there make sure your chimney is undamaged as these can be a major source of leaks from the roof.

Conclusion

Small areas of black mold infestation can be dealt with if you are very careful and follow the guidelines. If you have very large areas please seek professional advice. With regular inspections you can prevent black mold from growing in your home in the future.

If you have been in Atlanta, all of North Georgia for that matter, over the last 2 months, there is a good chance that in one way or another you have been affected by the terrential rains we have experienced as we transition into our winter season. Unfortunately, what often goes hand in hand with rains of this nature is an increase in the number of Atlanta residents that have to deal with water damage, everything from small leaks to major flooding of basements or entire homes. One question that comes to the mind of homeowners is often, do i really need a professional water damage restoration company, or can i do it myself. This question usually stems from an inate fear of the possible cost of the service to be done by a professional. What is far more important than the cost, is the possible danger to you, your family, your co-workers, and / or your home! Water damage that isn’t properly dealt with quickly is similar to straight teeth that go without a dentist, eventually, the problem results in losing your straight teeth! As far as cost is concerned, if you deal with a reputable water removal company like ACS Partners Residential LLC, they work with insurance companies and even FEMA when applicable!

The following are the most important 7 reasons that you must contact a reputable water damage restoration company in Atlanta to at the very least offer you a free consultation and show you the extent of the damage so you can make an educated decision about how to proceed.

Mold Growth Potential – If you haven’t had your home inspected for mold in the last year, it is imperative you do so soon. With the heavy rains we have had over the last year, even the tinyest leaks could have allowed enough precipitation to begin mold and mildew growth. Untreated mold and mildew can destroy not only the structure of your home, but the health of your family!

Water Removal – Whether it is large amounts of water, or a job you believe you could do yourself, remember, our professional equipment gets the job done faster leading to less structural damage and potential mold growth!

Restoration Work – If bad damage has occured, you need professionals to dry out clean every possession as well as fix all of the structural damage and remove mold and mildew spores, etc.

Drying – You may think you can dry it out by opening windows, using home fans etc, but the professional equipment we use, heavy fans, etc, gets everything bone dry ensuring your safety.

Don’t people who are constantly gloating about how cheap they managed to buy this, that or the other just make you sick? They’re the poster children for the teen driver insurance rates industry-drivers that are paying rock bottom rates for their coverage. These are America’s most hated consumers, and the country’s most valuable teachers. Why?

Because they can teach you how to haggle down your teen driver insurance rates rates.

Wait. You can haggle about your teen driver insurance rates rates? Why didn’t anyone mention this before?!?! Well, see, you have to look at the broad definition of the word "haggle" here. This isn’t one of those situations where you’re going to be able to call up a couple of carriers and get a collection of teen driver insurance rates quotes, then say, "No, I don’t want to pay that much. But I’ll give you this much."

You’re going to be quickly introduced to the multiple ways you can be hung up on if you even try.

Haggling about your teen driver insurance rates rates is more a matter of knowing what can save you money on your coverage and acting on it. You see, when you first buy an insurance policy you usually get the short story about your rates. They’ll ask about the distance you drive and what, exactly, you use your car for. Agents have access to a database that shows them the manufacturer’s safety features, and they’ll confirm those with you. They’ll get your address and take a look at your driving record, then they tell you how much your insurance is going to cost.

This is all well and good, but it definitely doesn’t cover everything! For example, did you know that engineers and teachers are statistically less likely to be involved in car accidents each year and, as a result, pay less for their coverage? Or that you can install a GPS locator system or fuel switch and knock 10% off your coverage in the blink of an eye? These are questions that your agent isn’t going to ask, and if you don’t let them know you’re going to end up paying way too much for your insurance!

So what else can save you money on your insurance?

1) Your job.

2) Your location.

3) What kind of car you have.

4) How high your deductibles are.

5) How much coverage you have.

6) Whether you carry multiple policies with that company (for example, insuring your home and your car with the same provider).

7) Your age.

8) Where you park your car at night. (Do you have a garage? Knock off some more money, because you’re seriously knocking down the chances that your car will be stolen or vandalized.)

It’s amazing what can help you save money on teen driver insurance rates these days, and as long as you know that you’re going to be in a prime position to get a great deal-and be King of the dental lab when you’re talking about your insurance rates.

Don 't people who constantly pleased how cheaply they are able to purchase what the other or just make you sick? They 're the poster child for self-insurance administrators who pay low rates of rock to cover them. These are America 's most hated consumers and the country ' s most valuable teachers. Why? </ P> Because they can not teach you to <a rel = "nofollow" onclick = "javascript: pageTracker._trackPageview ( '/ outgoing / article_exit_link
