Facial Scrub - a very essential beauty regimen which a lot of people don't do. Scrubbing does a lot of great things to your skin.

It removes dead skin cells, minimizes it's build up in the pores and thus promotes clearer skin.

Because it minimizes dead skin cells build up, it then makes pores smaller.

It prevents build up of bacteria also in the pores, thus preventing acne/pimple breakouts.

Scrubbing also even out skin tone.

And it increases blood flow in the skin thus promoting nourishment and hydration.

But with the many facial scrubs in the market today, it is very hard to choose which is best for our skin. with their promises and the many good things in their labels, it's very hard to choose, that if only we could try everything. I had tried a lot of products, but since my skin is very sensitive, there's always irritations.

So after years and years of finding that perfect product, I learned from somewhere in the internet how to scrub the natural way...

BROWN SUGAR - yes! this is true! a teaspoon of brown sugar everynight works wonders. But of course you won't be using just brown sugar, add it to gentle facial washes, like cetaphil(this is what I am using), celetque, or olive oil(I am thinking of using olive oil it's just that it's too expensive, more expensive than cetaphil).

How to do it?

A teaspoon of brown sugar add it to enough gentle facial wash to make a syrupy paste. Scrub face gently on a circular upward motion for at least 1-3 minutes. Rinse and pat dry.

You will instantly feel your skin becomes soft and invigorated. With the vitamins and minerals present in brown sugar, your skin is also visibly nourished.

Please bookmark this page or add me to your favorites for i will be posting more tips soon!

How to have a clear skin? This is what most women, and surprisingly men alike are most concerned of when it comes to skin. With the many pollutants around us, everyday stresses, and the hormonal reactions of our body, having a clear skin almost becomes impossible. Almost, meaning, it could still be possible.

So what to do to have a clear skin?

First we have to understand the needs of our skin. What are these needs?

hydration- our skin needs to be hydrated, if not it will become dry and dull.

free from impurities- this is the number 1 mistake most people make, they tend to use/apply everything they see and hear from advertisements without even considering and analyzing if those products are safe and pure.

moisturize- this could be the same with that of hydration, with the exception that this mostly concerns the surface or the outer layer of our skin.

So we have now learned the needs of our skin, very simple right? There's only 3 of them! Just 3, sadly though, most people fail to meet these very few needs of our skin.

After learning the needs of our skin, we should understand that these 3 are the very basics in achieving a clear and healthy skin.

HYDRATION

Hydration is very essential in having a clear skin. Imagine a plant that is not being watered, how do you think it would look like? Same with our skin. We must know that our body is made up of 55-60% of water, thus we need to be hydrated to become healthy. Same goes with the skin, it needs water to be healthy. It needs water to be able to maintain its elasticity and vibrance. It needs water so that the impurities that it absorbed from our environment could be removed and flushed out from the body. Hydration in this case refers to the inner hydration. The amount of blood flow into our skin, the amount of moisture that is innate in the composition of the skin.

A lot of people think that this could be achieved by drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day. But according to one study drinking 8 glasses of water a day does not really help in hydrating the skin or prevention of dry skin (BBC FOOD Special, The Truth About Food). Why? Because as long as we are eating, we are hydrating our body. Every food that we eat has water content. Fruits, vegetables, even bread, even chocolate! Every food that we eat has water in it, so we don't necessarily need to drink 8 glasses of water a day. Especially if you are eating healthy, if you eat lots of fruits and vegetables.

There is one truth about hydration that we all should know.

Smoking and drinking dries up our skin. Even if you drink 10 glasses of water a day, if you drink a lot and smoke a lot, it is useless. The noicotine in your cigarette, and the smoke itself destroys skin cells hence absorption of water of these cells is hampered, thus, leading to dullness of the skin.

FREE YOUR SKIN FROM IMPURITIES

Impurities destroys skin cells. It hampers skin from absorbing water and essential nutrients and minerals from the body. What are these impurities?

The common culprit?

Cosmetics. Most us are swayed with advertisements. Of course, when one pretty woman with a seemingly flawless skin endorses one product, chances are, we try it too. Because the model is so pretty we forget to realize a lot of things.

First, the model's skin complexion and yours, most models are fair, but not most consumers.

Second, they are models, they have the means to go to dermatologist and have expensive maintenance, not only that, she may be using the product she endorses, but surely she is using it along with other treatments and maintenance.

Third, models are are selected and paid to endorse one product because their skin are already beautiful, so there is the possibility that they may not be using the product at all!

Fourth, your skin's sensitivity. This is very important, because honestly, I have fallen to the trap of advertisement many times. I had clear skin, but because I wanted to have the skin of the model of an anti-aging product, she is a big star, and a beauty queen at the same time, I tried using it. But, instead of having a fair skin, it became a nightmare skin. Look, I am not trying to say that those products are not good, and that advertisements are lies(which most often they are, really, that's why they are called advertisements!), it's just that before trying one product, try to consider first the sensitivity of your skin. Mine is hypersensitive, I get breakouts even with the branded products for hypersensitive skin! A lot of skin problems nowadays are because of hypersensitive reactions and irritations on the substances present on cosmetics and creams. These could be the preservatives, the buffers, and the amount of concentrates. We should not forget that however the claims of being natural of manufacturers, cosmetics and creams will still contain synthetic substances that may cause irritation to skin. Same with the concentrates with the substances, not everyone could tolerate it. That is why there is always this warning at the labels: Discontinue use when irritation occurs., or Consult your doctor before using this product. See, manufacturers know!

MOISTURIZE

This is different from that of hydration in the manner that this concerns the outer layer or the surface of the skin. Moisturize, after washing your face, moisturize! Washing strips off of our face of humectants that retain and prevents loss of water. So what do we do, replace these humectants! warning though, consider the sensitivity of your skin. Whether you are hypersensitive or not, go for the mild products. Go for For Hypersensitive skin products. Because these products are water based, thus they are easily absorbed. And they have lesser additives and preservatives and buffers that may cause skin irritations.

So there, the basics for clear skin!
