Moving, but staying the same

We wanted to let everyone know about some exciting changes going on with the Clear Function office and to address a few questions that might come up because of this change.

Here in the next few weeks both Stephen and myself will be leaving Memphis, TN. While Stephen will be heading to Chicago, IL for a taste of the big city and that delicious deep dish, I'll be heading to the much tamer Louisville, KY to attend Southern Seminary part-time. While Clear Function will become a three city company, we will all still be working the same amount and fulfilling the same responsibilities as we do now.

So, what does this change?

Other than the physical location of each team member, not much. Clear Function is very familiar with working at separate locations as we've been doing so for the last year with Nate being in Ohio and myself and Stephen being in Memphis. Additionally, we're very accustomed to working with out-of-town clients. In fact, we've never met (in person) many of our clients. That being said, we have loved working with our Memphis clients and hope to continue doing so even with this move. We plan to contact many of our Memphis clients directly, but please let us know if you have any questions about this transition.

With this move, we are also excited about meeting new colleagues and clients in Chicago and Louisville. If you live in those areas and would like to chat, please let us know. We'd love to get to you know you and find out more about your companies.

We're all very excited about this change and Clear Function's future. It's no secret that we have some exciting things going on in addition to the great projects we're able to work on with many of you.

New websites for Grace Church and Woodlands Church

We recently launched a couple of websites for Grace Church, located in Memphis, TN and Woodlands Church, located in Plover, WI. Both of these websites are using Reflect and are two more great examples of what is possible when using Reflect.

Grace Church

It was great working with Grace Church (my home church) in helping them update their previous website into something more functional both for them and anyone visiting their site. Their website also includes an integrated blog, events calendar and sermon archives.

Woodlands Church

It was also great working with Justin Gasper and the staff at Woodlands Church in developing a new cohesive look for Woodlands Church that made it easy to update content for their various ministries. Their website includes an integrated photo gallery, video gallery, and message archive.

We recently launched a new website for CoNotes.com, the online destination to discover and learn about job opportunities in fast-growth and startup companies. It was a pleasure working with Andrew Chen of CoNotes and to be involved in what we hope will prove to be a great resource for job seekers.

Clear Function was hired to design and develop their new website giving them a fresh look and organizing the hundreds of companies listed on their website. In addition, the website includes a social networking aspect that allows job seekers to bookmark favorite companies, apply for jobs online, interact with other job seekers and much more. Reflect Update: Expanded Beta

So what’s up with Reflect? Well, quite a bit, and we want to let you in on how things are going and our plans to launch Reflect in the near future.

For the past several months we’ve been steadily developing Reflect and launching websites on the system. During this time, Reflect has been used solely by ourselves and a few select web developers. But that’s about to change, as we’ll be opening Reflect up to the many of you that have signed up for our private beta mailing list. The process will be pretty simple: In May, we’ll be emailing the Reflect mailing list with an invitation code accompanied with instructions that will be used to sign up for Reflect. We’ve had such a large number of people sign up for the list that we’ll be phasing out everyone over the course of May until everyone has received an invitation. So, if you’ve signed up, be patient. Everyone on the list will eventually receive an invitation code. During this expanded private beta we hope to receive feedback from you as we put some finishing touches on Reflect before completely opening it up.

To whet your appetite, we’ve put together a short screencast showing you how easy it will be to create modules. One of the great things about Reflect is that you can finally say goodbye to installing blog engines and other content management systems. You’ll see from this particular screencast that it takes just seconds to create a photo gallery and a blog.

So, stay tuned. Reflect will be worth the wait.
