Interested in coming to UX London 2010? Well hurrah, the new site is now up!

We’ve got a fantastic line up for next year including Bill Moggridge, Peter Morville, Jeff Patton, Leah Buley and many more. Go have a look. The conference combines a day of inspirational talks with two days of in-depth workshops and runs from 19th - 21st May 2010.

Project news

We might have sounded a bit quiet over the past couple of months, but we’ve actually been very busy working our design magic on some exciting new projects. Here’s just a taste of what we’ve been working on recently.

We’re very pleased to be working with Universal Networks (formerly NBC Universal) again, having redesigned the SciFi site earlier this year. Our very own Paul Lloyd is currently working on the site designs for their five new channels.

We’ve also recently finished the design for this year’s BFI London Film Festival. Our new Creative Director, James Bates, is continuing to work with the BFI on a number of other projects, including the design of their main site which we hope to show you soon.

Finally, the chaps at Mozilla were so impressed with our Firefox Add-On’s site redesign that they’ve asked us to redesign the Camino site.

dConstruct Time Capsule Competition Winner!

We’re very pleased to announce that Cole Henley has won the Time Capsule Competition with his map photo. We love maps, and we really liked Cole’s idea to put them in the time capsule.

We had over 200 entries and some really fantastic ideas, which made choosing the winner difficult. Thank you to everyone to entered, we hope you had fun!

We boiled it down to the final five before picking Cole’s entry. We also like new_folder’s Manbag entry, OxOX’s time capsule banana, Jim Purbrick’s Target Bot-E and Maykel Looman’s 2008 Parking Ticket.

Congratulations to Cole, and we’re looking forward to seeing you lovely ticket holders at dConstruct next week!

Geek Girls hit dConstruct

The Geek Girls will be running a picnic at this year’s dConstruct. So if you’re a girl geek who wants a chance to meet other girl geeks from Brighton and beyond, stick your name down and grab your sarnies! Boys are most welcome, although you must bring a girl along with you.

dConstruct tickets have been flying off the shelves and we’re expecting to sell out within the next few days. If you’d like to come to the conference but haven’t got a ticket, get in there now. Both the HTML5 & CSS3 Wizardry and Designing for Mobile Experiences workshops are now full, but there are still spaces on the jQuery for Designers and Internet of Things workshops so if you want to come along, grab your ticket now.

Don’t forget, you could also enter the dConstruct Time Capsule competition to win a VIP pass to the conference. The closing date is this Friday.

We’re really pleased to announce that Ben Cerveny will be joining Mike Migurski at this year’s dConstruct. Their talk “Let’s See What We Can See (Everybody Online And Looking Good)”, looks like it’s going to be fantastic insight into how we can make sense of the information emerging from the internet.

dConstruct Time Capsule competition

To Celebrate the 5th birthday of dConstruct, we’re collecting a time capsule of objects, images and experiences that represent what life is like as a digital native in 2009. We’ve already seeded the time capsule with some of our own cultural curiosities, so now it’s over to you.

Getting involved couldn’t be simpler. Look at what’s around you now, what would you preserve in a time capsule for future generations? Take a photo and upload it to flickr, tagged with #dconstructcapsule. For extra credit, add a short description explaining the importance of your artifact to future digital archeologists.

As an extra, special inducement, the best entry will receive a VIP pass to dConstruct which includes attendance to our exclusive speakers dinner and two nights accommodation at myHotel in Brighton.
