I met this couple some time ago and was overjoyed to hear from them again (they are so fun!)

They are recently engaged and I will be shooting their wedding later this year! We all had a blast one Saturday, taking photos, eating cookies, and playing with “Betty” the dog.

I’m looking forward to shooting their beautiful wedding – and seeing their adorable dog again!

Year End Wrap-up

Greetings!

2013 was a fantastic year. I not only got to welcome numerous new clients to my company list, I also attended some fun workshops, traveled a bunch, and learned some new things – including the fact that I am a terrible blogger. I am pretty sure one might think I went out of business, not only because my last post was in February ’13, but also because my website suffered the most and had not been updated since early ’12. (I have since updated those photos just this week).

There is no excuse. Only the fact that the last thing I want to do at the end of my long day is blog, or attempt to update my website which inevitably results in me writing some wrong code and shouting repeatedly that I am going to f*&%ing shoot someone. Luckily, people ignored my woefully outdated website and blog and still called or emailed, and I was able to grow my business by another 65% this year.

I have had to streamline some of my time/work which sadly entailed removing family and kiddo photography from my list of services. However this will allow me to concentrate on my architectural, food, and wedding avenues, and put more energy towards improving those skills & providing a great experience for all.

I have high hopes for 2014 and am excited at what it may bring, not only because I have faith in our economy but also because of the optimism I have seen/heard from my clients.

2-year anniversary shoot

I met up with Curtis and Liesl for a Second Anniversary shoot, this one styled after the 2nd year traditional gift of cotton. Liesl is the owner of a business named “The Little Road Said Go“, a business specializing in vintage & up-cycled goods, as well as design. Curtis & Liesl really are great together.

We shot a First Anniversary series in 2011, in the theme of paper. Liesl, being the especially creative one that she is, beautifully styled both of these shoots. She also made nearly all of her wedding accessories and decorations!

This shoot incorporates their designs, creations and collections, and even Curtis’ old blue truck from his school days…
