CBP officers seized 565 grams of ecstasy tablets. PHILADELPHIA – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in Philadelphia discovered more than one pound of ecstasy in three international parcels on April 10. CBP officers discovered the pills in three shipments that arrived from separate addresses in The Netherlands. A field test of the pills proved positive for the properties of 3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphatemine (MDMA), commonly known as ecstasy or molly. The three shipments weighed a combined 565.2 grams or one pound, four ounces. The shipments were destined to addresses in Crawford and Chester Counties in Pennsylvania and to Hillsborough County, Florida. CBP officers seized the ecstasy. Investigations continue. “Customs and Border Protection officers remain steadfast in our commitment to intercepting illicit and dangerous drugs that are shipped...<div class="feedflare">

The New Jersey Sierra Club has submitted comments to the NJ Department of Environmental Protection Agency opposing the agency’s proposed land swap with the Central Jersey Rifle and Pistol Club (attached). The proposal is to transfer approximately 43.05 acres of land that the DEP owns in Jackson Township exchange for approximately 86.8 acres of land owned by the Club in Upper Freehold Township. “This is a bad deal for New Jersey and open space. The state is giving away to the Central Jersey Rifle Club that they have already polluted in exchange for a less valuable property. The gun club has already polluted this land, and now they want to take ownership so that they don’t have to be responsible for cleaning it up. What’s...<div class="feedflare">

Several California pastors have filed lawsuits for what they see as intrusions on the free exercise of religion, but federal courts aren’t taking any chances. A federal appellate court even thwarted a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision in the name of curbing coronavirus infections and hospitalizations. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals became a thorn in the side of Harvest Rock Church and Harvest International Ministry in Pasadena when it ruled against allowing worshipers to return to church even though SCOTUS had lifted...<div class="feedflare">

Gambling in the United States is by no means limited to casinos, either. All but six states had lottery games in 2019, and lottery ticket sales totalled $81.6 billion that year. Between both lotteries and commercial casinos, Americans and tourists spent $125.2 billion on gambling in 2019 -- or about $491 for every adult in the country. Of course, gambling laws, which can restrict gambling opportunities, vary by state, as does interest in gambling. For upcoming budget, infrastructure, climate, and other discussions to achieve real, long-term results, taxpayers must be in the driver’s seat. But first, we should give this Congress and the president two thumbs up. From day one, they’ve acknowledged that a...<div class="feedflare">

Release Date: April 20, 2021 CINCINNATI—Since April 1, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in Cincinnati have seized ten shipments containing a total of over 106 pounds of smuggled ketamine. The shipments were coming from locations throughout Europe and Africa and were destined to addresses across the United States. During routine inspections, officers decided to take a closer look at multiple shipments containing décor, clothing, spices, and protein powder, among other articles. After testing bottles of nutritional supplements, unknown liquids, and bath salts with a handheld chemical analyzer, officers discovered liquid or powder ketamine in all of the products. The cumulative value of the ketamine was $704,270. Like many anesthetics, ketamine has legitimate medical uses, but can be abused for its hallucinogenic and sedating...<div class="feedflare">

As he says in his published letter, he is “angry at being removed from the BOE because I dared to represent the interests of our children, rather than a political machine.” Gonzalez was removed by NJEA President-elect/Montclair Mayor Sean Spiller so that Spiller could appoint his own people, and Spiller appointees now hold four-of-seven board seats. As Gonzalez says, the NJEA/Montclair Education Association (MEA) political machine now sits on both sides of the negotiating table, and Spiller’s judicially recognized conflict of interest has given the MEA and NJEA control over Montclair’s schools. Sunlight has long warned that Spiller’s conflict of interest was real and massive. Of course, Spiller was removed from the Board of...<div class="feedflare">

Sherrill Proves Again She Puts Party First Over National Interest Lake Hiawatha, NJ/April 22, 2021 – Today, Hillery Brotschol, Republican Congressional candidate for New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District condemned Democrat Mikie Sherrill for voting against censuring California Congresswoman Maxine Waters. Waters at protests for Daunte Wright this weekend said, “We’ve got to stay on the street, and we’ve got to get more active, we’ve got to get more confrontational. We’ve got to make sure that they know that we mean business.” Just hours later two National Guardsmen were shot at. Brotschol noted that Sherrill previously had charged Republican colleagues of showing rioters around the Capitol days before the January 6th riots and demanded expulsions. Sherrill has yet to provide proof of this ever happening nor...<div class="feedflare">

Protecting the Country’s Critical Infrastructure Through Partnerships In 1996, a small group of the private sector and government officials began working with the FBI's Cleveland Field Office to help identify cyber threats to the country. The FBI passed along what we knew about cyber intrusions and crime trends to our partners to help them secure their facilities and computer networks. And our partners, in turn, shared their information technology expertise and information they had on possible cybercrimes. The group became known as InfraGard because of its focus on protecting critical infrastructure components—like utility companies, transportation systems, telecommunication networks, water and food suppliers, public health, and financial services. The original program proved so successful that we replicated it nationally. And just as the cyber threat has...<div class="feedflare">
