&amp;nbsp;Arrested and charged with felony theft was &lt;b&gt;Poorna Teja Potluri&lt;/b&gt;, 22, of Solon, a Swagelok co-worker.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The woman said she noticed the cards missing form her purse on Jan. 19, and reported the theft to Solon Police.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Surveillance videos from a bank ATM revealed that someone had tried to use the cards after they were initially taken. Solon police believe they were returned to the purse because the suspect wasn't able to get money with them.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

 China, according to an annual survey based at Yale and Columbia 
universities in the United States.

Of all the countries surveyed in the Environmental Performance Index 
(EPI), which measures the effects of polluted air on human health, India
 ranked the lowest at 132.

The study used satellite data to measure air pollution concentrations.

The level of fine particulate matter in India is nearly five times the 
limit where it becomes unsafe for humans, said the study released at the
 recent World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Health experts say particulate matter is one of the main causes of acute
 lower respiratory infections and even cancer.

India scored a meagre 3.73 out of a possible 100 points in the air 
analysis, lagging way behind Bangladesh, the next-worst performer, which
 scored 13.66.

The region fared poorly with Nepal, Pakistan and China taking up the

U.S. Attorney Donald A. Davis and Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette announced today the federal indictment of eight individuals, including four licensed physicians and one licensed physician’s assistant, for conspiracy to violate the federal Anti-Kickback Statute. Additionally, a state charge was filed against a Jackson, Michigan physician for allegedly accepting kickbacks to refer his patients to certain rehabilitation facilities. All eight federally charged defendants appeared today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Hugh W. Brenneman for an initial appearance on the charge, which carries a penalty of up to five years’ imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, three years of supervised release, and restitution.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The federal indictment alleges that &lt;b&gt;Babubhai Rathod&lt;/b&gt; owned and operated medical clinics, outpatient rehabilitation facilities, and home health care companies that paid employees and outside health care providers for the referral of patients. The Indictment identifies many of Rathod’s companies, which include Lakeshore Spine &amp;amp; Pain, P.C., with clinics in cities including Ludington and Edmore, Michigan, and U.S. Rehab Services, P.C., with facilities around the state, including in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. The indictment identifies &lt;b&gt;Rajesh Makwana&lt;/b&gt; as an administrator of Lakeshore Spine &amp;amp; Pain and &lt;b&gt;Raju Nakum&lt;/b&gt; as a manager of U.S. Rehab Services.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The indictment alleges that Rathod, Makwana, and Nakum paid health care providers agreed rates for the referral of patients for electrodiagnostic testing, physical therapy, and home health care services. The indictment identifies Lino S. Dial, Jr., D.O., Natalie Schutte, P.A., &lt;b&gt;Niti Thakur, M.D&lt;/b&gt;., Andre Blair Smith, M.D., and &lt;b&gt;Muhammad Salman Rais, M.D.&lt;/b&gt; as health care providers who referred Medicare and Medicaid patients to companies operated by Rathod in return for illegal kickback payments. The indictment further alleges that the kickback payments were falsely disguised as reimbursement for other purported expenses, including mileage, medical director fees, continuing medical education, and contractual labor.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Kevin S. Witt, D.O., 51, is charged in 54B District Court in East Lansing, Michigan with two felony violations of MCL 400.604, which makes it a crime to receive kickbacks in exchange for referring patients for treatment elsewhere. The charge is a four-year felony. Witt was arrested this morning by Attorney General investigators and was arraigned this afternoon.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
U.S. Attorney Davis stated that the state and federal charges result from a joint investigation with the Health Care Fraud Division of Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette’s office. Special agents from the Bay City, Michigan Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Grand Rapids, Michigan Office of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General are coordinating the federal investigation.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
U.S. Attorney Davis noted, “The federal Anti-Kickback Statute prohibits the payment of any remuneration that is designed to induce or reward medical referral decisions involving Medicare, Medicaid, and other federally-funded health care programs. In passing the anti-kickback legislation, Congress intended that medical decisions be made with the patient’s best interest in mind and not because the referral of a patient will result in a financial benefit to the referring physician. Because our health care system relies heavily on the trust and integrity of medical professionals to provide services under the appropriate conditions and in the interests of patients, we will continue to aggressively investigate allegations of fraud and kickbacks and prosecute cases where professionals have abused this trust.”&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
“Patients deserve to know that when a doctor refers them for additional treatment, the decision to do so is based upon quality health advice—not what is best for the doctor’s bank account,” said Attorney General Schuette. “Kickbacks with the Medicaid program don’t just hurt patients, they affect the taxpayers who support the bottom line. Medically unnecessary treatments drive up the costs of Medicaid, and taxpayers ultimately pay the price.”&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Lamont Pugh III, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Region of the U.S. Department of Health &amp;amp; Human Services, Office of Inspector General echoed U.S. Attorney Davis and Attorney General Schuette’s comments. “Patients trust that their physicians are making referrals to other health care providers so they can obtain the highest quality of care, not because they financially benefit from it,” said Pugh. “Paying kickbacks and bribes in exchange for such referrals is illegal, and the OIG will aggressively investigate allegations of this nature in order to protect Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries and taxpayer dollars.”&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Andrew G. Arena, Special Agent in Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Detroit Field Division emphasized that, “The FBI will remain vigilant in stopping health care fraud in the State of Michigan. This type of crime affects all of our health care premiums and serves as a drain on society. The indictments of these physicians and others send a strong message that abuse of the health care system will not be tolerated.”&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The charges in an indictment, as well as state charges, are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;a href="http://www.justice.gov/usao/nj/Press/files/Orange%20MRI%20News%20Release.html" target="_blank"&gt;Fourteen new jersey health care providers arrested, charged with taking cash payments for patient referrals&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Thirteen New Jersey doctors and a nurse practitioner are charged in a cash-for tests referral scheme for allegedly taking illegal kickback payments to refer patients to an Orange, N.J., medical testing facility, New Jersey U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General (HHS-OIG) Special Agent in Charge Tom O’Donnell announced.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This morning, more than 65 federal and local agents and officers led by HHS-OIG arrested the 14 health care practitioners, to whom radiology and diagnostic facility Orange Community MRI (“OCM”) allegedly paid monthly cash kickback payments in exchange for their referral of Medicare and Medicaid patients to OCM for testing services.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The defendants arrested this morning are scheduled to appear this afternoon before U.S. Magistrate Judge Madeline Cox Arleo in Newark federal court. OCM’s executive director, Chirag Patel, 36, of Warren, N.J., was arrested on Dec. 8, 2011, in connection with the scheme. He appeared that day before Judge Arleo and was released on a $750,000 bond.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Each defendant is charged in a separate Complaint. According to the Complaints filed in the related cases:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
OCM began making the illegal kickback payments as early as 2010. At the end of each calendar month, individuals at OCM printed patient reports that detailed how many diagnostic tests – including MRIs, ultrasounds, echocardiograms, CAT Scans, and dual-emission X-ray absorptiometries – were referred by each of the defendants. These patient reports were used to calculate the payment owed to each defendant.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
According to each defendant’s agreement with OCM, the health care practitioners were paid kickbacks for each Medicare or Medicaid beneficiary diagnostic test referred to OCM. The defendants also were paid for referring some privately insured tests. The exact nature of the payments differed per agreement; some of the doctors were only paid for MRI and CAT Scan referrals, while other defendants also were paid for the referral of ultrasounds, echocardiograms, and dual-emission X-ray absorptiometries.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
During only a two-month period between early October and early December 2011, there were 32 separate payments made to or by the 15 defendants currently charged in connection with the alleged scheme, with total cash kickbacks of $51,500.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
“Selling test referrals for cash is illegal. Patients have every right to expect their doctors will recommend medical service providers because they do the best job, not because they provide the best bribes,” said U.S. Attorney Fishman. “There is no room in the federal healthcare system for those who see a person in need of care as an opportunity to make an extra buck on the side.”&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
“When physicians take kickbacks that influence how they practice medicine, it has the potential to taint the medical advice and care that is provided to their patients. The audacity of these physicians should offend honest taxpayers, especially at a time when our taxpayer resources are stretched thin. We will continue to aggressively pursue all angles of Healthcare fraud. We would also like to thank the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for their law enforcement support as this case was an offshoot of a CMS referral,” said Special Agent in Charge O’Donnell.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
All of the health care providers charged practice in New Jersey and have offices in Newark, Orange, East Orange, West Orange or Irvington. The attached chart identifies the defendants, their office locations, and itemizes payments to or from each of the defendants – ranging from $200 to more than $5,000 per month. Other than Chirag Patel and Jose Castaneda, who is a nurse practitioner, all of the defendants are medical doctors.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Each of the health care practitioners is charged with one count of violating the federal health care program anti-kickback statute by soliciting and receiving bribes, which carries a maximum potential penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine, or twice the gross gain or loss from the offense. &lt;b&gt;Chirag Patel&lt;/b&gt; is charged with violating the same statute by offering and paying bribes, which carries the same maximum potential penalty.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
U.S. Attorney Fishman praised special agents of HHS-OIG, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge O’Donnell, for leading the investigation, and thanked CMS for its vital role at the inception of the investigation. He also thanked special agents of IRS – Criminal Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Victor W. Lessoff, and the Union County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Theodore J. Romankow, for assisting with the arrests. He added that the investigation is continuing.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The government is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Mack of the U.S. Attorney’s Office Health Care and Government Fraud Unit in Newark.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The charges and allegations contained in the Complaints are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.&lt;br /&gt;

Heidi Frazer Cherry, 49, said Thursday she doesn't want to work for Livonia Public Schools any longer because she “can't work for people who do this to small children.”&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Heidi Frazer Cherry has been employed by Livonia Public Schools since 1994, including the past eight years as a principal. She was a classroom teacher, department chair and language arts curriculum coordinator before becoming a principal. Heidi Frazer Cherry was named principal of Rosedale Elementary School this school year after serving most recently as principal at Cooper Upper Elementary School in Westland.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Heidi Frazer-Cherry said teachers at &lt;i&gt;Rosedale believed that children of Indian descent were dirty and should be checked as a group for lice and that the staff treated black children with disrespect, blaming them for wrongs they didn't commit.&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
She said she received no support from the administration and was told in a meeting with her union president and human resources personnel that she could not use the term “racism in this district.”&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Rosedale Elementary School has the third-highest minority population of the district's 13 K-4 schools. Approximately one of every six students is African-American. The school also has a large Indian population.&lt;br /&gt;

In India, lice in children is a known issue.&amp;nbsp; Most Asian Indians who migrate to the US are educated and a few children of these immigrants may indeed have lice.&amp;nbsp; However, a stereotype that Asian Indian children should undergo special treatment for lice infestation, implicitly or explicitly, is not a practice that has a place in any schools in the United States.&amp;nbsp; This is the United States of America, not India.&amp;nbsp; On the other side, do Asian Indians have stereotypes about schools and school staff?&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;

It’s a tricky question, whenever I think about the help and 
assistance that is available to new students from India from the Indian 
community here in United States, rarely anything comes into my mind that
 I can credit to the Indian community and by that I mean Indians who are
 already settled here with family, job and businesses.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The only support system I had was the help I got from the Indian 
students already living here but as I said in the beginning it’s a 
tricky question because everyone has their own experience, each student 
has his own story to tell whether good or bad.&amp;nbsp; But on a general level 
and the students that I have met and known over the years didn’t get any
 support from the Indian community.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Shakespeare once quoted that expectation is the root of all heartache 
but I really don’t think that a new comer to United States would have 
big expectations with the NRI community, of course that’s just me but 
from apartments to food, from transportation to telephone all kinds of 
basic sustainable requirements are provided for by other Indian 
students. The things where a new student should definitely get support 
from the Indian community is the guidance on how things work in US, the 
cultural differences, community involvement and other crucial 
information. I was lucky to have the guidance of few kindhearted Indians
 who shared their valuable experience with me which helped me a lot in 
my academic and professional endeavor but not every Indian student 
enjoys such privileges and there are several reasons for that.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;
Most of the time students don’t know whom to ask for help and great 
many times the Indians who are well settled here don’t bother to reach 
out to their struggling young compatriots. I have seen and experienced 
this wide gap firsthand in Pelham temple when I was doing a signature 
campaign in support of India against corruption movement. It was only 
after I was shown the door, I was told about the politics that has 
divided the seemingly unified community.


 Even here at UAB (University of Alabama at Birmingham), there are two 
types of Indian students. One who came from India and the other who are 
of Indian origin but are born and raised in United States, popularly 
known as ABCDs. Though, I have good friends in both these groups but 
very rarely I have seen people in both these categories interacting with
 each other. When I was starting my journey at UAB, I didn’t have any 
ABCD friend. My roommates told me that most of the ABCD students 
maintain distance from other Indian students. When I asked the reason 
behind this rift, I didn’t get any satisfactory answer and even today, 
it’s somewhat of a mystery to me.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
But the story didn’t end there because then we have subdivisions in 
Indian students itself. There are groups of Marathis, Guajaratis, 
Bengalis, Tamils and God knows how many other different clusters that 
live on loosely exclusive bases. Student from one state usually live 
together and being from a Hindi-speaking state in India, I had a really 
hard time adjusting with my roommates; I was always on the sidelines. 
Many times, these students get help from their paternal state cultural 
groups like Bengali, Tamil or Telegu organizations. I have many Telugu 
and Bengali friends who would often visit their respective community 
gatherings and festive celebrations but rarely people from other states 
attend these meetings. Either they are not invited or they have an 
organization of their own.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It was a bit amusing, ironical and pleasant fact that I never had 
anything else to identify with other than my country. There is a saying 
that society doesn’t owe us anything and that indeed is true, but from 
the lessons I have learned here in United States I think, things can be 
changed a bit but as I said earlier, that’s just my viewpoint. After

So yes, the content of our television and our cinema is escapist in nature because we are there to provide entertainment.&amp;nbsp; The select group of people who do make realistic cinema, who do make cinema perhaps a little more acceptable to the Western audience, is a very small percentage".&lt;br /&gt;

What larger perspective is the Bollywood celebrity talking about?&amp;nbsp; Do the poor people of India want a little escape from the hardships of life?&amp;nbsp; No, its not possible for most to escape the hardship of life in India.&amp;nbsp; Poor people of India want food to eat, clothes to wear and a home to live.&amp;nbsp; They want to live in a pollution free environment which is nearly impossible in today's India.&amp;nbsp; They want to live like humans with a little bit of dignity and this too is difficult in today's India.&amp;nbsp; They want to provide a halfway good life for their children.&amp;nbsp; Asian Indians want to live in a nation where corruption is not the way of life.&amp;nbsp; The smart and educated ones realize that these dreams are not going to turn into reality and they get the heck out of that wretched country. &amp;nbsp; Anywhere but India is the motto.&amp;nbsp; The good ones try to make a difference in their adopted country and/or in India.&amp;nbsp; Some expect a return for helping.&amp;nbsp; Some expect no returns for helping (eg: &lt;a href="http://www.ashanet.org/cleveland/home/index.php" target="_blank"&gt;Asha of Cleveland&lt;/a&gt;).&lt;br /&gt;

Asian Indians don't want to see&amp;nbsp; super rich Bollywood's fruity arseholes prancing around a tree or park or on streets to loud disco music.&amp;nbsp; Or do they, I hope not.&amp;nbsp; Bollywood movies do not provide entertainment and if you think they do, I should feel sorry for your pathetic taste in entertainment.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Why Bollywood is made by asses for the masses &lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
These are some ingredients of a typical Bollywood and Asian Indian movies:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;A hero who is likely a bad actor with no formal education and training in acting.&amp;nbsp; He sometimes appears shirtless and this appears like an attempt to quicken the pulse of the female fans and if indeed this is happening, India is screwed.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt; A heroine who is kinda good looking and is very likely a terrible actress.&amp;nbsp; At times, she appears scantily clad and this is targeted towards the sex starved Asian Indian males.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;A irritatingly loud and pompous jackass (eg: Gulshan Grover) who plays the role of the bad guy for a significant portion of the 3 hour movie duration.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The hero and heroine shitty dances in a disco club like setting and extra soft pornographic moves (the female dancing in rain in low rise clothing, moaning,&amp;nbsp; arching her butt close to the male's crotch kinda like a female lioness interesting in mating right away, shaking of the boobies and butt etc.) &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;I could go on but I rest my case here.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
Do yourself and your family a favor.&amp;nbsp; Stop watching stupid Bollywood movies and more importantly do not get your children hooked on to the Bollywood movies.&amp;nbsp; Bollywood provides zero individual nourishment.&amp;nbsp; Bollywood does not provide entertainment either.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Nandita Dutta of Dear Cinema reviews a Bollywood movie called Bodyguard in an article titled &lt;a href="http://dearcinema.com/review/review-bodyguard/4525" target="_blank"&gt;Bodyguard : Only star, no shine&lt;/a&gt;.&amp;nbsp; Nandita Dutta writes&lt;br /&gt;

It is hard to come by characters in a film who have been relegated to 
caricatures of&amp;nbsp; such a lamentable status. The film breezes past you in 
such a superficial way that it will be more befitting to label it a 
commercial for a bodyguard (read Salman Khan) than cinema. Or then it 
can be said that the writer-director has done a bad patchwork of 
stitching together stunts and songs, held loosely by scenes that have 
neither depth nor any thought for his characters. All that Kareena 
Kapoor is made to do throughout the film is show off Manish Malhotra 
outfits and is confined to girly giggles and tears in the name of a role&amp;nbsp; &lt;/blockquote&gt;

As example, consider this song/dance that is typical among Bollywood and Asian Indian movies.  The dancer in this song is Vidya Balan.  Recently, Katrina Kaif was seen moving her ass in popular song titled &lt;a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcKtDXUb6Cg" target="_blank"&gt;Sheila Ki Jawani&lt;/a&gt;.&amp;nbsp; Back in the old days, Asian Indians had a word for a woman who did these kind of dances.  They were called tawaif (courtesans).&amp;nbsp; Some tawaifs were associated with prostitution.&amp;nbsp; There is no disrespect directed at Vidya Balan or Katrina Kaif at all.&amp;nbsp; Is this kind of entertainment appropriate for little children to watch?&amp;nbsp; Is it appropriate for young girls to aspire to become a Bollywood Item Girl?&amp;nbsp; Asian Indians refer to a woman as Jagat Janini.&amp;nbsp; But disrespect of women is passed of as entertainment by some Bollywood characters.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Bollywood in Cleveland Ohio &lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In the Cleveland area, Tollywood and Bollywood movies have been screened in a theater on Ridge Road in Parma.&amp;nbsp; So far, the influence of Bollywood in Cleveland is marginal.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Asha of Cleveland has organized Bollywood parties in bars located near downtown Cleveland.&amp;nbsp; A bar is indeed the most appropriate place for Bollywood.&amp;nbsp; Using the proceeds of a Bollywood party to help the education of underprivileged children in India, priceless.&amp;nbsp; Kudos to the youngest and the newest Cleveland Asian Indian students. &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

Chicago, IL - The American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (&lt;a href="http://aapiusa.org/" target="_blank"&gt;AAPI&lt;/a&gt;) issued the following statement condemning the bigoted remarks made by businessman Herman Cain, implying he would not see a physician whose name sounded "too foreign," or practiced a different religion from his.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
"Herman Cain's latest remarks are completely insulting to physicians of Indian origin across America," said Dr. Sunita Kanumury, AAPI president. "It doesn't matter to a physician what race, religion or creed their patient belongs to. All they care about is providing the best health care possible to them. Similarly, our patients don't care about our race and religion. What they want is the highest quality health care from the best doctor of their choice," said Kanumury.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
During remarks made yesterday in Orlando, Fla., Cain noted that while he was receiving treatment for cancer, he was concerned that one of the surgeons working with him in the chemotherapy process was named Dr. Abdallah. He told a physician's assistant that the name sounded "too foreign." He then expressed relief when he was told that the physician was a Christian from Lebanon, and not Muslim.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
"Herman Cain as an African American man has surely experienced firsthand or witnessed unlawful discrimination based on race, religion or national origin," said Kanumury. "As AAPI was founded nearly 30 years ago to fight this very backward thinking, it is simply incomprehensible that someone of Mr. Cain's background can make such thoughtless comments. AAPI members come from all walks of life, from every part of India and represent every major religious group: Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Jains and Jews. We also have names like Patel, Shah and other names that may not sound that American to Mr. Cain, but we are in fact proud to be American and proud that we are the largest ethnic association of physicians in the United States.&lt;br /&gt;

The first lesson to be learnt from  the recent history of Islamic terrorism against India and for tackling  terrorism in India is that the Hindu is the target and that Muslims of  India are being programmed by a slow reactive process to become radical  and thus slide into suicide against Hindus. It is to undermine the Hindu  psyche and create the fear of civil war that terror attacks are  organised.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Hindus must collectively respond as Hindus against the  terrorist and not feel individually isolated or, worse, be complacent  because he or she is not personally affected. If one Hindu dies merely  because he or she was a Hindu, then a bit of every Hindu also dies. This  is an essential mental attitude, a necessary part of a virat  (committed) Hindu.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We need a collective mindset as Hindus to stand  against the Islamic terrorist. The Muslims of India can join us if they  genuinely feel for the Hindu. That they do I will not believe unless  they acknowledge with pride that though they may be Muslims, their  ancestors were Hindus. If any Muslim acknowledges his or her Hindu  legacy, then we Hindus can accept him or her as a part of the Brihad  Hindu Samaj (greater Hindu society) which is Hindustan. India that is  Bharat that is Hindustan is a nation of Hindus and others whose  ancestors were Hindus. Others, who refuse to acknowledge this, or those  foreigners who become Indian citizens by registration, can remain in  India but should not have voting rights (which means they cannot be  elected representatives).&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Any policy to combat terrorism must  begin with requiring each and every Hindu becoming a virat Hindu. For  this, one must have a Hindu mindset that recognises that there is  vyaktigat charitra (personal character) and rashtriya charitra (national  character). For example, Manmohan Singh has high personal character,  but by being a rubber stamp of a semi-literate Sonia Gandhi and waffling  on all national issues, he has proved that he has no rashtriya  charitra.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;India must not compromise with terrorists&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The second lesson for combating terrorism is that we  must never capitulate or concede any demand, as we did in 1989 (freeing  five terrorists in exchange for Mufti Mohammed Sayeed’s daughter  Rubaiya) and in 1999, freeing three terrorists after the hijack of  Indian Airlines flight IC-814.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
India must kick terrorist ass like the US does&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The third lesson is that whatever  and however small the terrorist incident, the nation must retaliate  massively. For example, when the Ayodhya temple was sought to be  attacked, we should have retaliated by re-building the Ram temple at the  site.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
According to bleeding heart liberals, terrorists are born  or bred because of illiteracy, poverty, oppression, and discrimination.  They argue that instead of eliminating them, the root cause of these  four disabilities in society should be removed. This is rubbish. Osama  bin laden was a billionaire. In the failed Times Square episode, failed  terrorist Shahzad was from a highly placed family in Pakistan and had an  MBA from a reputed US university.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It is also a ridiculous idea  that terrorists cannot be deterred because they are irrational and  willing to die. Terrorist masterminds have political goals and a method  in their madness. An effective strategy to deter terrorism is to defeat  those political goals and to rubbish them by counter-terrorist  action.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;/tbody&gt;&lt;/table&gt;WTF, looks like the marketing departments of corporations have figured out a cheap method of getting publicity for their products.&amp;nbsp; Put the picture of a Hindu god or goddess on their product and later on plead guilty to stupidity, ignorance and issue a token apology in response to protests.&amp;nbsp; In the age of Google, how stupid would it be for a corporation to plead guilty to stupidity?&amp;nbsp; Verbal apologies, even with sincere intent, from corporations are meaningless.&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;

In a remarkable interfaith gesture, Jews and Buddhists have also joined Hindus in asking apology from Kentucky (USA) governorship candidate David Williams for reportedly inappropriate comments about sacred Hindu ceremony of “bhumi-pujan” (earth-worship).&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
According to reports, he termed it as an act of idolatry and referred as “polytheistic situations”, and called revered Hindu deities as “false gods”, and talking about Hindus he said “…I hope their eyes are opened and they receive Jesus Christ as their personal savior…”&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Rabbi ElizaBeth W. Beyer, well known Jewish leader in Western USA, in a statement, said, “Mr. David Williams, Republican candidate for governor in Kentucky, should publicly apologize for his narrow-minded attack on Hinduism.&amp;nbsp; He called a blessing ceremony ‘idolatry’ and poked fun at bindis (Hindu forehead decorations).&amp;nbsp; Williams’ statements exhibit intolerance.&amp;nbsp; We live in a culturally diverse world.&amp;nbsp; Bigotry is hurtful…”. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
“How can such a man hope to govern a diverse population when he finds a culturally appropriate Hindu blessing a new business repugnant?" asked Rabbi Beyer.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Reverend Phil Bryan, prominent Buddhist leader from Nevada (USA), who grew-up in Hopkinsville and Bowling Green in Kentucky and whose ancestors were original settlers of Kentucky, in a statement stressed: “…it's my very strong view that Williams owes the Hindu world and Governor Steve Beshear an apology…Beshear has shown traditional Kentucky courtesy and kindness to members of the third largest world religion and is also helping members of the fast growing Hindu business community to feel at home in Kentucky…Please apologize Mr. Williams.&amp;nbsp; You owe it to all of us trying to make this a better and richer world."&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Swami Vedananda, a highly respected Hindu monk from California (USA), pointed out: Criticism of the Hindu ceremony as unchristian or even idolatrous, and that public officials erred by participating in it, is due to a basic misunderstanding and requires clarification and an apology from those who have made such allegations. Those who criticize the incidental details of such ceremonies miss the main point, which is to offer worship and reverence to the same one God of all religions, the one reality, who is creator of us all and the inspirer of all enterprises.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Meanwhile, Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada today, stated that upset Hindus were still waiting for a formal apology from Williams for unnecessarily dragging sacred Hindu ceremony in his campaign battle resulting in trivializing ancient Hindu traditions, beliefs and deities.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, argued that such trivialization of faith hurt the devotees and should not be taken lightly. Concepts and symbols of any faith, larger or smaller, should not be mishandled, especially by politicians many of whose constituents might belong to that tradition.&lt;br /&gt;

Hindus are finding the following objectionable: "Nerdy Lord Ganesha" (a nerdy take on Ganesha where he holds a tobacco pipe, glass of wine, etc.), Ganesha shown as "Ping Pong God", "Ganesha alien" and “Ganeshamadonna” (Ganesha and Mother Mary merged together in one figure).&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that Lord Ganesha was highly revered in Hinduism and was meant to be worshipped in temples or home shrines and not to be thrown around loosely in reimagined versions for dramatic effects for mercantile greed. Such absurd depiction of Lord Ganesha with no scriptural backing was hurtful to the devotees.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

Hindus were for free artistic expression and speech as much as anybody else if not more. But faith was something sacred and attempts at trivializing it hurt the devotees, Zed added.&lt;br /&gt;

Emani lived and breathed  many causes including projects to aid the homeless and promoting  diversity. Although she was killed in a tragic vehicle accident, her  example and message live on. &lt;/tbody&gt;&lt;/table&gt;Dr. Sonia Anand, who led the study published today in the medical journal PLoS ONE, said South Asians are particularly more likely to add the type of organ-hugging fat that can lead to diabetes and coronary artery disease.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Previously the researchers at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine and the Population Health Research Institute had found that, even with the same body mass index as white Caucasians, people who originate from the Indian subcontinent have more risk factors for cardiovascular disease including Type 2 diabetes, low "good" or HDL cholesterol, and more abdominal obesity.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
"The new study showed South Asians have less space to store fat below the skin than white Caucasians," said Anand, a professor of medicine and epidemiology. "Their excess fat, therefore, overflows to ectopic compartments, in the abdomen and liver where it may affect function."&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This visceral fat, she added, is associated with metabolic problems such as elevated glucose and abnormal lipids which are risk factors which ultimately lead to coronary artery disease.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The study was sponsored by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. Anand holds the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario/ Michael G. DeGroote Chair in Population Health Research.&lt;br /&gt;

"Many Canadians of South Asian descent — as well as those of Aboriginal, African and Chinese descent — are experiencing historic levels of risk for heart disease and stroke. It is only through research like this that we can learn how better to treat and prevent these diseases, so lives are not cut short," said Mary Lewis, vice-president, research, advocacy and health promotion of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. Dr. Arya Sharma, director of the Canadian Obesity Network and a co-author of the study said: "This study helps explain why South Asians experience weight-related health problems at lower BMI levels than Caucasians.
