Zavvi.com are running are giving away a free copy of the LEGO City Mini Movie Collection DVD with all orders of selected LEGO product from their website. LEGO video games and accessories such as watches are not included in the offer.

Once you've finished shopping and view your basket the free DVD will appear stating that it's 'sold out'. I'd assume that this would mean that they have sold out of the DVD to sell, but still have some to give away for free as part of the offer. However this cannot be confirmed.

Three weeks ago we saw the first glimpses of the upcoming modular building 10232 Palace Cinema. Now it has been confirmed at BrickFair Alabama by Kevin Hinkle.

The set will consist of 2,194 pieces and will be officially released in March this year with a price of $149.99 in the US and £119.99 in the UK.

Site Update - Switching Hosts

Blogspot has been Click a Bricks host for the past seven months, providing us with free hosting and the great content management system (CMS), Blogger. But now it's time to move on. As with everything, we progress and improve, and in order to do this, we must depart from the CMS, Blogger.

Click a Brick will depart from Blogger and its data imported into our new host, iPage, using the open-source CMS, Wordpress.

Wordpress will allow us to greatly improve Click a Brick with new features. It will also allow us to take on as many authors and users as we so wish without Bloggers restriction of 100 authors and users.

The new CMS, Wordpress will also provide our authors with a much simpler interface to write and publish posts/articles here at Click a Brick.

The change will start late next week with the www.clickabrick.co.uk domain being disabled and transferred. During this time to access the site you'll have to use our previous domain which is www.click-a-brick.blogspot.co.uk.

I apologise in advance for the inconvenience.

All authors here at Click a Brick will be ocntacted with further details at a later date.

Technic design competition voting begins

Voting has begun on the LEGO Technic competition entitled 'You Design It We Make It'.The participants in the competition had to design a special top for the 9398 4x4 Crawler.

You vote for your favourite design out of 10 finalists and the winner has the design used in an upcoming set.

The top 10 finalists were picked out of over 100 designs. All votes must be received by the 22nd January.

New LEGO CUUSOO deadline date for Spring review

The deadline for the next LEGO CUUSOO review has been pushed by one month from February to the 4th of March after the LEGO CUUSOO Team made a mistake.

The change was made because the original deadline would of meant that projects would have two months to gain enough supporting votes for their projects to qualify.

Exo Suit reaches 10,000 supporting votes

A few days ago, the LEGO CUUSOO project known as Exo Suit, created by Peter Reid, reached 10,000 supporting votes and has now entered the review stage. The project has qualified for the quarterly review beginning in March this year.

The LEGO CUUSOO Team left the following congratulatory message:

Again, beautiful model and well-deserved success! It's great to see a model that carries the essence of classic LEGO Space forward to the "present day" of building qualify for review.

Congratulations on achieving 10,000 supporters. We now officially advance this project to the Review phase.

What happens now?
This project moves from the Idea stage to the Review stage. A "LEGO Review Board" composed of designers, product managers, and other key team members will examine the idea. We'll build concept models and determine if the concept meets our high standards for what it takes to be a LEGO product. This includes factors such as playability, safety, and fit with the LEGO brand. Every potential LEGO product goes through a process like this and must meet the same standards.

The LEGO Review Begins in March
This project qualifies for the quarterly review beginning in March, which will also include all projects that reach 10,000 between now and March 4. For more information about the quarterly review process, see this blog post.

The review is a thorough process and from its start, and can take several months. When finished, we make a "go/no go" decision to develop and sell a product based on the Exo Suit concept.

When the review is complete, we will inform you of our decision. If green-lit, this project goes into the longest phase of the project; the Development phase. During this time, LEGO model designers refine the product and develop it for release, we create the product materials (box, instructions, marketing), and get everything ready for a production run. This also takes several months.

War Machine minifigure revealed

A recent eBay auction has published images of an upcoming Iron Man 3 minifigure known as War Machine. The eBay user currently has two available for sale.

The set(s) that the minifigure will appear in is yet to be determined.

The minifigure is based of the Mark II suit Tony creates for Rhodey.

The first image below depicts the War Machine minifigure with the helmet removed.

The second image below depicts the War Machine minifigures back printing and reverse head printing.

Next generation of Mindstorms announced at CES

The next generation of LEGO Mindstorms has been recently announced at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

The new generation of Mindstorms allows it to be programmed using an iOS or Android device instead of a PC or Mac.

LEGO 31313 Mindstorms EV3 (pictured on the right) will be released in the second half of 2013 and will be priced at $349.99(USD), €349.99 (EUR) and $399.99 (CAD).
