WIX VS WORDPRESS

I create/design my sites mostly using WIX but I can create sites with wordpress as well. (I will just need to know upfront, because other wise it will be built on Wix)

WIX - Flash Based

Wix is a site builder designed on a flash based platform interface.
Layout is created from scratch and fully customizable in apperance and design.
No user access to site (Unless you say you want it up front AND pay a separate fee just for this access)
Keywords - You are allowed up to 10 keywords for SEO purposes.

Now Wix has HTML 5!!

WORDPRESS

Site is designed by taking a pre existing template and altering the color scheme.
User control and own updating for content only.
Wordpress is best for blogs alone and not for websites but can and are used that way.
Keywords - Pretty much as many as you want on the backend.
Widgets - Wordpress offers a variety of widgets.

Not getting enough hits on your website? Create back links.

It takes time and a lot of work to get noticed. There is not a magic wand to get results.. it takes effort. One way to do this is to start writing on forums, blogs, and social media outlooks and include a backlink to your website. This gets you the added exposure you need.

Do you believe in fortune cookies?

I like many other Americans love Chinese food. No matter how many times I have had it in a week I am always up for Chinese.

About a week and a half ago I ordered Chinese food and the first thing I do is snatch up that fortune cookie and rip it open like a woman possessed. I never thought that the fortunes written along with the lotto numbers would ever come true.

I just think that it is clever to have a piece of paper stuffed inside a cookie that can possibly give you good luck or insight about your life. My fortune read, "Your talents will be recognized and rewarded".

I thought that it actually hit pretty close to home since I have been trying to sale my art out of a coffee shop recently. I went ahead and taped it on my computer screen for good luck.

Little did I know that my fortune was actually going to come true less then a week later. I wrote a blog about a coffee shop that is going to have an open house that I am a part of and this radio station, Castle Rock Radio, contacted me wanting me to come in and be a guest!

I have never done something like this before and I was not only excited but also nervous.

The clips are actually videos, which I didn't know they were going to do. Sorry viewers I guess you're about to watch fright night come alive.

I think I missed the memo for the make up girl. I thought I did a pretty good job even though I only said yes or no answers. I am usually pretty outgoing and friendly... but I guess I am just one of those types that can be really outgoing in person... but not so much in situations like this.

My husband told me I looked extremely nervous. OK, actually that was a lie, he said I looked, "scared sh**less", so let's hope that for the people out there who don't know me that I looked normal and calm.

I had a lot of fun going on the air with Michael House and Rand Clark. They are two very crazy, wacky guys that can talk a mile a minute. Thanks guys for letting me on the show!

So the next time you grab some Chinese food and your thinking about tossing away that fortune... don't, hold on to it... it just may come true.

Living with another

I was awakened last night to my hubby poking me on the shoulder.

I look at him with my sleep glazed eyes, thinking what, what is it? He is lying on his side and looks at me and says, "You know, the only thing I don't like about being married is not being able to spread out on the bed."

"What?" I thought. What kind of crazy nonsense is this? You wake me up at about 3 to tell me you think our bed is too small and word it in away, where I am like, are you kidding me?

Everyone makes sacrifices in their marriage to make it work and to make each other happy. I never thought I would hear the bed is too small, which in my mind, like any other sane female's mind, means I am either to large for your comfort, Ha, or you're telling me you don't want to snuggle? Ha, I just discovered what my dear hubby is going to get for Christmas. Forget that new game system he has been drooling over. You're getting a bed, sweetheart! Ha!

Agh! I am addicted

Ever wake up and the first thing you do is reach to make coffee or drive and get it? Stand in an insanely long line just so you can have that jeweled colored liquid? The worst part is you pay around four bucks for it too.

I never thought that I could be addicted to coffee but here I am guilty as sin. I wake up every morning and the first thing on my mind is coffee, I want coffee. Have you ever tried to break this habit, you know save yourself around 20 dollars a month on colored water?

I am learning that weaning myself from it is hard. I am so used to the extra caffeine intake, around three times a day, that when you go down to none your body is screaming "where is it, where is it!" It is like having withdrawals.

I mean, I don't smoke, don't drink and here I am addicted to one of the most common things out there, coffee. How crazy is that. It doesn't help matters where at every other stoplight is a coffee house trying to lure you with its enticing aroma and comfy couches. It could be six at night and I will make me a cup of coffee. My body is so used to it that I could go right to sleep after drinking it.

Enough is enough, overpriced coffee houses you have hopefully seen the last of me.
