Sometimes in life, you have to take the bad with the good....sometimes you encounter a movie that is utter garbage but still entertaining, and sometimes you get a movie like this one, 1977's War of the Planets, an Italian Star Wars ripoff that could have given even the crew of the Satellite of Love a run for their money...

Sorry about the skipped week there...life got in the way. I'm going to try to keep this weekly/biweekly for as long as I can. Anyway, this week in the lab we explore one of the more notorious disembodied-head films, which started life in 1963 as "Madmen of Mandoras" but after some Frankensteining in of (painfully-obvious) extra footage, was reborn circa 1973 as the TV-movie "They Saved Hitler's Brain" And when the pickled head of Der Fuehrer does the best acting in the film, you know you're in trouble...

This week in the lab, we review the first of hopefully many Roger Corman films with his early classic, 1960's horror/comedy "Little Shop of Horrors"...while it later spawned a popular musical, the original also has a lot going for it, including a brief-but-memorable performance from a very young Jack Nicholson! The tweaks to the format continue, as I try to break up my own droning commentary with more clips from the film to help tell the story. Enjoy!

I know I said originally I was going to make this a bi-weekly podcast, but I just couldn't resist putting up a new episode...I'll be doing some tinkering with the format over the next few shows, so please bear with me.

Anyway, for this episode we check out a bit of classic drive-in fare from 1959 called "The Killer Shrews" starring James Best of later "Dukes of Hazzard" fame, Ken Curtis from "Gunsmoke", and a whole slew of dogs in drag...enjoy!
