So this month has flown by and it has not been an entirely smooth ride. I struggled with motivation, and ideas to make a post every day. Not to mention running out of money by the end of the month. Fortunately the money has kept coming in it’s just been held up in various places but by Monday that should all be sorted. So let me get to the interesting bit how much I’ve earned on-line this month.

e-book sales: $209
adsense: $82.67
pay per click: Spent: $120 Income: $180 Profit: $60.

Grand total:

$351.67

So I’ve broken my goal of $200 again this month. Which is fantastic as my on-line income is on the increase. Although I am quite concerned about how I beat this again in November. I have not created another product to sell and as that made a bulk of my income I better get my thinking cap on really bloody quick. I do have some ideas for my pay per click campaigns and I’m expecting November/December to be a time where I earnings from affiliate earnings due to the niche I promote. So stay tuned hopefully next month I’ll have an even larger sum to report here. Double this months earning again??

So a couple of months ago I registered a domain, set up a blog and installed a plugin for wordpress which allowed me to take e-bay feeds and turn them into a post. A click through on an item in the list which led to a winning big would supply me with a commission. The whole site was very simple to install and set up and for a while it looked like it was going to work really well. I gained a few back links and began using the plug-in to post everyday. The blog was to target the fancy dress niche, which meant making a post was very easy. I simple typed in fancy dress costumes into Google keyword search and then made a post using those keywords with little competition in the search engine placements, e.g less than 1,000,000 results.

For the first few weeks I got incredibly lucky. The film Mama Mia was out in the cinema and I quickly realised that by creating Abba costume related posts my blog would jump to near top of the serps. I made money both with adsense, and via a few affiliate commissions. I thought with Halloween approaching fast I was onto a winner. Unfortunately Google quickly decided my blog wasn’t worthy. I’m fairly certain that this is due to the “sandbox” factor that many people see with newly established sites. In fact I have another website which shot straight to position three in the serps over 3 months ago and is only now building it’s way back up, yet is still only on page two. Rubbish

So this meant that I missed out on the Halloween rush as there is nothing I could do in time to get the google love back to the blog. Which means I now have to wait a while and keep building up natural looking back links and hope that this time next year the blog will be in a more likeable position and I can start making the money back spent on the domain/hosting.

Well I feel disappointed myself this month now. I’ve missed three whole days worth of posts! Basically I’ll be honest and say it’s nothing more than laziness. Although that’s not strictly speaking the entire truth. You see I also had a severe case of writers block. I had nothing to post about nothing at all, my brain was as empty as the vast void of space.

The biggest problem was that I ran out of money, so I couldn’t do any more experimenting. The is unfortunate but unavoidable. I spent all the money I had allotted my pay per click campaigns. Google then took this money before my affiliate company paid out which meant I had no budget available. October also turned out to be an expensive month for me, what with my M.O.T due on my car. Me splashing out a ridiculous amount on not needed but much wanted designer clothes, and a couple of trips up to London to get lashed (uhh drunk). Plus paying off a vast chunk of the old credit card bill.

I sometimes wonder if I’ll ever be rich, purely because I like spending money so much. Those who are rich tend to be massive savers or have accumulated an immense amount of wealth in a very short time so haven’t had chance to spend it. I don’t think I’ll ever have the mentality to save, and I’m not sure how I can accumulate massive wealth in a small period of time. In fact I think it will be difficult to do anything but spend all the money I earn as and when I get it.

I’m thinking of trying to stop this habit by incorporating my saving details in this blog. I’ve seen this work on other such places and don’t see any reason this wouldn’t work for me. What do you guys think? Assuming any one is still around after my break to answer that is Oh and I got paid today, so things will start to pick up around here again now

You know by now how much I want to make a career out of making money on-line, but I don’t think I have my priorities right. See at 24 I think I still don’t have the mentality to dedicate enough of my time to make it as big as I dream. You see I live quite a comfortable life for some one my age. I have a job which pays me a decent amount, a huge number of friends, and basically live exactly how I want to. I look at other people who have made it big in this game and most are married and over a certain age. I’m not there yet and I’m not willing to forgo my social life in order to achieve greater success on-line. And on that note that’s the end of this post today, I’m off to do what a bloke my age should be doing. Getting drunk, going out and basically having a jolly old time. Sod making money, wealth can and will come later for now it’s about enjoying myself before I’m too old.

I’m getting so addicted to twitter it’s ridiculous and it’s getting worse. Every day I wake up and find that at least four more people have followed me, then throughout the day my inbox is filled with even more of those lovely little “Name is following you on twitter messages”. I then instantly feel obliged to log on and follow them back. This has lead to accumulating over 140 followers without any effort from myself. Where are these people finding me? I don’t know but I love it and hope it continues! It’s not just getting people following me it reading the other conversations throughout the day as well.

I receive over 200 tweets per day from various sources, and it’s great to be able to see the little conversations going on between people. I also feel like I’m connecting with people who I would never of spoken to normally. And it’s not just a location thing, it’s a society thing. Young and old, rich and poor all realms of society are covered and brought together in this little application and I can’t think of any way of connecting with new people which is better. Now at this point I would like to do a shoemoney and talk about my stats, but of course that would involve checking my statistics.

Unfortunately readers who have been with me from the start will know that I don’t check my blog statistics, accept for comments. Now this is one metric I can talk about! Since being involved with twitter I have tweeted every single blog post yet I still haven’t had one single blummin comment from someone who has connected with me via twitter! Now this could lead me to one of two conclusions. One no one cares about my new blog post so my links aren’t being clicked. Or two that people who tweet aren’t so keen to comment. Maybe it’s because its feels more personal then tweeting? Who knows! So I want to break this habit, could any one who is reading this from twitter who has not left me a comment for do so. Oh and don’t forget if you tell me you love me in the comment you get entered automagically into the prize draw to win a flip camera!!
