So someone told me about the “Oldies but Goodies” blogging challenge and really it’s perfect for my blog. I almost always am wearing at least one thing thats over a year old. I absolutely adore this dress from Icing, I have missed Miko’s designs a lot. I’m glad that she is back from her hiatus, hopefully for good. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to make an outfit out of it . The color is so perfect and the shading on the sculpted skirt. I put a jacket and a shirt over the to of the dress to transform it a little and I’m really pleased with how it turned out.

Another of my favorite designers that is back is Lucas Lameth! He has released 3 new sets all Sea themed and just like always they have such an organic chunky elegant feel. Somehow he always manages to make all those things mesh together. My bangle and earrings are from his new sets and I am sure the necklaces will turn up in an outfit soon.

I’m always so happy to see my favorite designers coming back so I’m extra happy today!

So I hit up shoe fair like everyone else… and I couldn’t even be bothered to get dressed or do my hair for this post. There are tons and tons of posts with details on each individual shoe. I just wanted to share with you my purchases. Which were a bit excessive… in my defense I haven’t bought many shoes in the last year-year and a half. Now I won’t have to buy any till next year (yeah right haha)

I wanted to show this picture not just for vanity’s sake, but to show off this adorable little ballet slipper necklace from Caroline Apollo. She has a tiny booth on a haybale with some cute anklets and other shoe themed necklaces.

So I have been dying to use this sweater/jacket thingie from RunoRuno since I found it on xstreet. I just love how it drapes! Usually that’s how an outfit starts, sometimes while trying to make an outfit out of something I’ll find something else to use as inspiration and abandon my original idea. BUT not this time, I was determined! I think it wasn’t just that I love how it looks but also that it’s so ridiculously cheap at only 50L. I finally decided on a nice casual but almost dressed up look.

Usually I’m all about the silver accessories but this time I needed gold/bronze. Luckily I found some really strong pieces. I think my favorite are these bangles from DarkMouse. They are so gorgeous I really want some in rl.

Like everyone else on the grid I’ve been bitten by gatcha mania lately. A few weeks ago at the Gatcha festival at Albero Tiny Bird had these adorable headbands that match their hair.

Luckily for me they also match other hairs like this one from Exile. I ended up with almost all the colors try it get pink which was lucky for me.

Overall I feel really comfortable but put together in this look. If only my feet could survive those boots in rl……

Wow, hi! I missed you guys. Seems I blink these days and a month or four passes. Oh well after a bunch of inventory sorting I managed to find some beautiful things that I couldn’t resist putting into an outfit.

This gorgeous off the shoulder top is from G Field I love how the prims fit and especially the sheer prim around the waist. I didn’t have many troubles at all getting them to fit either. It was so summer and light I thought that this ruffly lace skirt from Aoharu matched perfectly. I added the Hykova tank from Whippet & Buck underneath just to give some contrast. These tanks come on all layers just like all of their things and makes them essential for any wardrobe.

My jewelry all comes from 3 of my very favorite designers. This gorgeous necklace is a gatcha item from Lolapop can you believe it! The multicolored earrings are from DarkMouse and I think they tie all the colors together nicely. I also added the delicate charmed watch bracelet from Caroline’s I just love the little charms on it.

Hair and shoes are a little older but still super cute. This is the Paper Tiger hair from Curio. The shoes are from Shiny things and something I would wear in real life they look so comfy. I feel like I”m ready to go on a nice little tropical vacation. I’m off to go daydream about that now… I’ll try to come back sooner than 4 months…maybe.

I felt like being very bright today. I guess since it’s St. Patrick’s Day I should be in green.. but well I am sure there’s some green on my rainbow Harajuku girl bracelets so that probably counts. This outfit started with the Dyadic dress from Nyte N Day, this is one of those stores I always forget about and then someone reminds me and I go “OH YEAH” and run over and buy a bunch of things. I love the shading on this dress and the 2 colors are so bright and cheerful. I felt like if I was gonna go bright I would go all the way so I added these purple leggings from Aoharu and an aqua tank from Tuli. I had a hard time with shoes until I found these adorable aqua flats in a freebie box from 50 Flats. They are near the “gumball machines” and had a few diff pairs in the box.

This super cute pony tail is called Kate from Dark Mouse and Mouse has made new textures and quite a few new hairs. This one is so cute and detailed it even has some pins shoved into the ponytail part. Finding vibrant jewelry was easy my necklace is the Harajuku doll face cameo from Violet Voltaire and my earrings are the Fiery Fuchsia earrings from Paper Couture.

I wanted to be a little casual today and I actually started off making a completely separate outfit but somehow I ended up with this. Which I think is a good thing. That happens sometimes I think I want to wear one thing but really something else catches my inspiration.

In this case it was the Laila Sheer shirt from MichaMi. I love how its really long and asymmetrical. After I found that things just seemed to come together easily. Luckily all the creators use a lot of layers so I was able to make everything fit. This post is a little brief but it’s late and I think my brain shut down.

I don’t have a big write up today. I’m sick with a cold and my head feels like cotton fluff! I wanted mostly to show off this beautiful top (it was part of an even lovelier dress)I got for only 50L from Allure by Sparkle Skye Designs. She is going to be releasing a few things each week for 50L for her group members. It’s definitely worth a group slot. I just checked and as of tonight it’s still out but I don’t know for how long.

Oh and I want to point out that Darkmouse has new hair and textures! Isn’t it pretty the hair jewelry is the very best part the headband changes to a few diff colors.

Hi! I’m baaaack. I haven’t posted for like two years. (Sorry, Hethr, I don’t mean to leave you hanging like that.) This outfit happened by chance as a result of my massive catching-up shopping trip. I just started trying things on, rediscovered some things in my inventory, and realized I had an outfit. I started with the Inspired Shark Cardigan from Tres Blah. I love the print on this cardigan (it makes me think of those blue gummy sharks), and it’s also available on the shirt layer. I then put on the Belmar Skinny Jeans from Surf Co. They are available on the underpants or pants layers plus a sock layer for the bottoms. They have a really cute and subtle dot print. Underneath the cardigan, I have on the In Da Hood Yo! Tank from Veschi. I chose to wear it without the sculpted prim hood. There are some very nice details in the texture.

I really like the low heel and the print on the Elsa Boots also from Surf Co. The knit legwarmer thing fit my avi perfectly straight out of the folder. I wear contacts in rl, but I would wear glasses more often if I had a pair like these. The glasses from nordari have a tiny bird perched on the edge, and when you click the bird, it tweets! The frames are also adorned with a little bit of grass along the top. I love the look of the Coral Necklace from Swallowtail. It’s not modifiable, but I’m sure it’ll fit most avis.

I’m sure anyone reading this already knows this hair from lamb, but it’s new to me and I love it. It’s simple but a little quirky and has a great texture. The Morning Sun skin from Fashionably Dead has a gorgeous lip color. I love the brows on these. They’re not scary, overly surprised, angry or super thin. Just some good old happy brows. I’ve finally tried prim lashes. I hadn’t even known they existed. These are from Miamai, and there are many more different styles. It did take me some time to adjust them to fit, but I think the overall look of them is more than worth it.

Today’s outfit all started with the Tapadito jacket from Naive. This is just the sort of jacket I wish I owned in rl but just don’t. I feel like it would match just about anything. I decided to go a little neutral on the top and let the jacket shine but then to go with this super short skirt from Kyoot just to keep it from being TOO neutral. Also due to layers I couldn’t wear tights but that actually turned out to be a blessing because instead I am wearing my fabulous Thigh high boots from J’s. I have a fat pack of these because of my issues fitting boots to my calves. These are amazing Texture boots in 3 heights I have on the middle height here.

I couldn’t decide at first how I felt about this hair from Paper Couture. I loved the jeweled headband from the start but the sculpted style had to grow on me. Now I love it and of course that headband! it’s so gorgeous. I wish that there more more hairstyles with beautiful hair jewelry like this. This amazing sun necklace is from Dark Mouse and she really excels at this type of casual, natural, bohemian jewelry.

I feel like this outfit is pretty flexible, could be for a date or a really stylish office worker (ok thigh high boots in the office is stretch but MAYBE a really hip office).

2-12-10 Mixing Artilleri

I’ve decided to every once in a while showcase an outfit from some of my favorite stores. I am starting off this series with Artilleri. I think everyone, even if you don’t dress in this vintage style, owns at least one thing from here. Antonia Marat has such beautiful prints and bright colors there really is something to fit every style. And of course she has hairs, glasses and even some gorgeous vintage furniture too.

For my Artilleri inspired outfit I wanted to wear zebra print. I have this obsession with zebra if I see animal prints its the always the zebra I’m drawn to. Antonia has a way of taking zebra and keeping it fun and over the top but never tacky. This is the Sabina II hair and the handkerchief changes textures/colors. My top is the Oh Bella top and my favorite feature on this are the bare shoulders and the beautiful sleeves. I couldn’t decide on one of my pencil skirts from her or my capri’s. I went with the Ruby high waist capri’s because the shading on them is excellent. There are no prims but sometimes you just don’t need prim cuffs or belts when they are drawn to perfection as on these.

So if it’s been a while since you were there I suggest a trip over to Artilleri you’re sure to find some fun colorful piece to add to your wardrobe.

Whew! It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to post. This outfit started when I put on my Vogue -Babydoll skin. This skin is a couple years old and still I love the saturated eyes and nude lips. I feel like it fit’s this vintage sorta dressy outfit really well.

A few pieces I want to point out are for starters the top from the Cupcakes Block dress from Sn@tch. Once again Ivey has made a really beautiful dress in a really rich color and well it has a bow so of course I love it! The off the shoulder neckline is what really got me especially because of how nice it goes with the Granny Made it Sweater from Ohmai. I love those bare shoulders with what is really an otherwise very conservative outfit. I actually had on an older version of this skirt from Ingenue, but when I went to check that one is in her outlet store and she had redone them. This actually has tons of pieces but as you can see it looks great just as a system skirt too. The shading is excellent.

I went with all bow jewelry because I just can’t help myself! This delicate little necklace is from Lolapop it comes in lots of colors all with that sweet tiny bow above the pearl drop. Another place I found to put a bow was in my hair. I know a few people have done similar bow hairstyles, but this one from Tiny Bird called Anachronism is really my favorite. It’s just so soft with all the tendrils hanging down. It really gives it a fun yet elegant look. (the tendrils are much nicer in world the halo is from my ps skills only)

I used poses from Storin by Annah Whitfield that were made specifically for wearing system skirts. In anticipation of the birth of her new baby Annah has put a lot of her poses down to 40L and some of her clothing down to 50L. It’s a great time to go and stock up!

I was lucky, when I first logged into SL in August 2007 I had a friend who took me hair shopping within an hour! I picked something close to my real hair style and color. I didn’t get the skin for 2 months though! Eeek! I wore linden skin that whole time because I didn’t know what a skin was! But I had great hair and kick ass spikey color change heels! I wear glasses in RL so I decided to wear them in SL; my friend got me these colorchange ones from primOptic that first day after the hair. My shape is fairly similar to what it was, just a bit less hippie and bustier (and omg what was with my giant man-hands?). Overall I am pretty much the same avatar as I started out as, just more polished… and with a much larger inventory!

Blogger Challenge– Then and Now

I saw this challenge mentioned by Brandy Rasmuson and the originator of the challenge was Sophia Harlow. I usually am too late to do these blogger challenges by the time I get to them it’s way too late. But for this one I could actually dig out some of my old things. I think it’s a great look back to how far people have come, or maybe they haven’t come that far at all.

I can’t say for sure they are they absolute oldest that I own but I have been playing since 2004 and I know most of this is from then or 2005. I still feel like other than updating for new sl technique I would wear all of this. My shape has been the same for years and that blonde hair by Lash was pretty much the only decent blonde to be found on the grid when I first started. Of course I had a Celestial Studios skin I have always loved her skins and the outfit is actually one she did for Valentines Day in 2005. I loved that outfit I think I wore it for 2 months haha. Also look at those bangles I LOVED those bangles I wore them every day along with my first simple little lip ring. This was also before I really started venturing out and mixing and matching my clothes. Thank you for the trip down memory lane Sophia and Brandy!

Wow things have been crazy busy around here but I finally managed to put together an outfit! I was inspired by the Koale Dress I got at Ty Zvezda during 50L Fridays. Sometimes sculpted dresses can be done so well that I don’t even miss my system skirt (and you know I love them) this is one of those times. With minimal adjusting I got the prims to fit around my large hips. I love this shade and I wanted to wear something really fun but a little elegant so I picked accessories that reflect this.

3 of the things I’m wearing can be found at sales currently going on this weekend. My skin is the Catalina in Petal from Pixeldolls you can also find the lovely lace collar there and everything is marked down to 50L on all layers. My super fun purple plaid leggings are from Sn@tch and they are having a huge 50–75% off sale this weekend and then will be discontinuing a few things so you must go if you know there are things you’ve been wanting.

Things are of course still crazy around here but I think we’re starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel hopefully that means I’ll be around a little more!
